  1. Speaking of "dark obsessions with the Left," this just in... 🤥 It Wasn’t a Hoax By David Frum https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/11/trump-russia-senate-intelligence-report/620815/ November 25, 2021
  2. A related question, aside from the withholding of the documents, is, "What do the guys currently running the 'Mockingbird' op to discredit Oliver Stone know about the JFK assassination?" Surely, they must know that the Company has been engaged in a 58 year cover up of the JFK assassination plot. Of course, their knowledge may be limited to the agency-wide executive order (from 1964) to, "Do whatever is necessary to promote public acceptance of the Warren Commission Report," but that seems doubtful. I'm picturing two guys named Smith in an office somewhere in the bowels of Langley... 🤥 "Smith, Professor Long at LSU has agreed to write a November 22nd article for WaPo promoting the meme that Jim Garrison was a deranged conspiracy theorist who was persecuting homosexuals in New Orleans." "Excellent, Smith. Has Rolling Stone accepted the Weiner article for November 22nd?" "Yes, Smith." "Good work, Smith. There are some things the public doesn't need to know." "Understood, Smith. They are the sheep. We're the sheep dogs."
  3. Interesting, Matt. That would, certainly, explain why the Tim Wiener article got published.
  4. The January 6 Committee Comes For Roger Stone and Alex Jones The notorious Trump allies are among the latest subpoenaed, along with “Stop the Steal” organizers. Could GOP lawmakers be on the way? https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/11/the-january-6-committee-comes-for-roger-stone-and-alex-jones
  5. Paul, Let's not forget that Rolling Stone published Carl Bernstein's famous October 1977 article about CIA Operation Mockingbird (which conveniently omitted any references to Phillip Graham and Bernstein's Washington Post.) http://carlbernstein.com/magazine_cia_and_media.php So, needless to say, I was disappointed to see Rolling Stone publish Tim Weiner's bogus "review" of JFK Revisited this week. Shame on them! Obviously, Mockingbird's targets include everyone on the political spectrum.
  6. Well, so much for the meme that there was "No Coordination" of the January 6th attack on Congress... 🤥 Alex Jones Says His Orders for the January 6th Insurrection Came from Trump www.dailykos.com/stories/2021/11/23/2065930/-WATCH-Alex-Jones-Says-His-Orders-for-the-January-6th-Insurrection-Came-from-Trump?utm_campaign=trending January 6th Organizers Used Anonymous ‘Burner Phones’ to Communicate with White House and Trump Family, Sources Say A key planner of the January 6th rally near the White House insisted the burner phones be purchased with cash, a source says www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/jan-6-rally-organizers-trump-white-house-1262122/
  7. The fact that the CIA has, apparently, recruited a history professor at Louisiana State University to produce propaganda discrediting JFK Revisited is a subject worth exploring. The only thing that I can find on a DuckDuckGo search is James DiEugenio's October 30, 2021 book review, Alecia Long Lays an Egg, at Kennedys and King. https://www.kennedysandking.com/john-f-kennedy-reviews/1268
  8. And, based on Cass Sunstein's concept of "cognitive infiltration," the Deep State is, apparently, also infiltrating social media forums to try to convince people that the CIA never "conspires" to carry out black ops and psy ops... Yee haw!! 🤥
  9. It's a garbage review. Pure disinformazia. So much for Tim Weiner's limited hangout at the New York Times as a putative CIA critic... It appears that his legacy is now in ashes... 🤥
  10. Andrew, I had the same thought about this QAnon in Dealey Plaza nonsense-- although, admittedly, I haven't followed the story very closely. It does seem like the CIA's Mockingbird M$M propagandists have been working hard during the past year or two to convince the public that all "conspiracy theories" are equally loony and invalid-- a monolith.
  11. Two inaccurate, bogus reviews of JFK Revisited in the M$M today-- one at the Washington Post by LSU Professor Alecia P. Long, and the other at the Rolling Stone by Tim Weiner. Behind Americans’ continued fascination with John F. Kennedy’s assassination We can ask new, illuminating questions about the tragic loss of a president, rather than engaging in conspiracy-mongering https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/11/22/americans-continued-fascination-with-john-f-kennedys-assassination/ This Is Where Oliver Stone Got His Loony JFK Conspiracies From The origin story for the CIA-killed-Kennedy myth is twistier than a magic bullet https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/jfk-oliver-stone-conspiracy-theory-russian-disinformation-1260223/
  12. That depends on whether they are, in fact, "right"-- e.g., rational, informed, just, ethical, etc. There's an entire branch of philosophy dedicated to that subject in relation to social ethics. From the perspective of social ethics, the most dangerous people in the world are those who are "wrong"-- e.g., murderers, oppressors, thieves, jackboots, polluters, etc. Rittenhouse verdict celebrated on right-wing social media as green light for killing protesters
  13. Bob, I understand that the trial wasn't about vigilantes attending protest rallies with AR-15s, but my point is that the national conversation should be. The focus on the technical details of the trial, and the absurd notion that Rittenhouse is "innocent," detracts from the larger issue-- that American laws should be enforced by the police and the due process of the courts, not by armed vigilantes. In contrast, Donald Trump, Fox News, and many conservatives are lionizing Rittenhouse's reckless vigilantism, as if it were appropriate and laudable. What message is that sending to America's Boogaloo Boys?
  14. Bob, Framing these three Rittenhouse murders as a technical legal issue of self defense misses the larger issue. To wit, it should be the job of the police and the courts to enforce our laws, not teenage vigilantes with AR-15s. Rittenhouse set himself up as Khmer Rouge style judge, jury, and executioner of three American citizens. Even if they were malefactors-- rather than civil rights protesters-- they didn't deserve a Rittenhouse death penalty.
  15. This is the core ethical issue relating to the Rittenhouse murders, isn't it? The focus on the legal technicalities in the Rittenhouse trial deflects from the fact that it is simply morally wrong for citizen vigilantes to go to protest rallies and murder citizens with guns. The same moral logic applies to people who drive their cars and trucks into crowds of Black Lives Matter protesters. This kind of vehicular homicide is now legal in some red states, but who among us really believes that it is morally right?
  16. Trump Fundraises Off the Rittenhouse Verdict: ‘Trial Was Nothing More Than a WITCH HUNT… Please Contribute Any Amount IMMEDIATELY’ https://www.mediaite.com/politics/trump-is-fundraising-on-the-rittenhouse-verdict/
  17. Can't make this stuff up, folks... 😧 Donald Trump Jr. Endorses Sending AR-15 To Kyle Rittenhouse Donald Trump's son urged people to support gun lobbying group Gun Owners of America's "award" for the teenager. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-jr-kyle-rittenhouse_n_6198ad45e4b044a1cc07e713 November 20, 2021
  18. Ben, Look at what Liz Cheney is up against in the GOP at present... 😨 I admit that I may be a bit paranoid about what I perceive as a serious threat of right wing Trump-ist fascism in America, but I think January 6th was only one manifestation of a more serious, systemic American disease. Lunatic Taylor Greene Threatens 'Civil War' Over Biden's Agenda Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Wednesday raised the possibility of a "civil war" if Republicans help President Joe Biden pass his Build Back Better agenda. crooksandliars.com/2021/11/marjorie-taylor-greene-price-blood November 17, 2021 Donald Trump Continues to Stoke a Domestic Terrorism Movement The ex-president is pushing his most brazen lie yet about the January 6 insurrection www.motherjones.com/politics/2021/11/trump-domestic-terrorism-january-6/ November 18, 2021
  19. Speaking of Trump/GOP kindergartners, has anyone else noticed the disturbing resemblance between Donald Trump and the protagonist, Oskar Matzerath, in Volker Schlondorff's 1979 film, The Tin Drum, based on Gunter Grass's novel, Die Blechtrommel?
  20. Ben, It looks like Trump and the GOP are rallying around Paul Gosar today. Can't make this stuff up... 🤕 Trump endorses Gosar as Republicans rally around the lawmaker who posted an anime video of himself killing a colleague https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/gosar-house-censure-republicans/2021/11/18/cb6c1396-4888-11ec-b8d9-232f4afe4d9b_story.html
  21. You're being too kind, Kathy. The Trumpsters in the GOP today are acting more like kindergartners. Minutes After Being Censured, Gosar Retweets Offending Ocasio-Cortez Video https://www.newsweek.com/minutes-after-being-censured-rep-gosar-retweets-offending-aoc-video-1650542
  22. Addendum: It just occurred to me that the difference in age for the guys in U2 from 1983 to 1988 (above) is identical to the difference in age for the Beatles from Hard Day's Night (1964) to Let It Be (1969.) All things must pass. Now, back to Bugliosi... 🤥 1964 1969
  23. Yes, it's amazing to see how much younger the band looked in that 1983 Red Rocks Under a Blood Red Sky concert compared to their 1988 Rattle and Hum tour. Boyz to Men. The '83 tour featured songs from their original War album. The Rattle and Hum tour featured mostly songs from their terrific Joshua Tree album (and a few from The Unforgettable Fire album, including the MLK tribute, Pride (In the Name of Love.)
  24. Robert, I just found the clip. It was actually the opening line in the 1988 film, Rattle and Hum, filmed at a live U2 concert in Denver's McNichols Sports Arena in November of 1987. The Irish in America. (The dramatic live concert footage in Rattle and Hum was filmed at McNichols Arena and at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.) Unfortunately, I was working at the Colorado State Hospital (in Pueblo, Colorado) that year, and I missed that U2 concert. Apologies for temporarily hijacking your thread about James DiEugenio's favorite true crime historian, Vincent Bugliosi... 🤥
