Was George Herbert Walker Bush Involved in Kennedy Assassination?

Recommended Posts

Consider that no prominent journalist has ever demanded that Bush comment personally on the Hoover memo linking him to the CIA in 1963.

If the US Corporate News Media was not locked down by the Elite's ownership of the owners of the media,

why would this be a very unusual happenstance, taking up several pages of google search results, and reported almost immediately in the press,...

Man hit, killed by own car appears to be freak accident

o “Bizarre” accident kills Kettering man trapped beneath his minivan Apr 12

By Kelli Wynn, Jeremy P. Kelley and Steve Bennish

Staff Writers Updated 4:41 PM Monday, April 12, 2010

...Sanders was seen backing his 1997 Plymouth Voyager out of his driveway at 1052 Eldorado Ave. about 6 p.m. Sunday, Kettering police Officer Michael Burke said....

...The car was in reverse gear, Burke said. One of the first witnesses on the scene found Sanders trapped underneath and put the vehicle into park, Burke added. The vehicle was on a level surface driveway, Burke said....

..Burke called the accident “very unusual.”

“It may be a case where the family and (police) are left with some unanswered questions,” Burke said. “In any case, where a death is involved, it is obviously difficult for the family. In this situation, it may be especially hard since the accident was so bizarre. The family has our sympathy.”

The Ohio State Highway Patrol does not keep statistics on the number of people who are killed by their own vehicles rolling over them....

Except that the reality was that the story got very little PRESS coverage. Searches of the Newspaper Archive and Newsbank turned up no hits and a search of Google NEWS only turned stories from 2 or 3 (depending on how you count) outlets all in Dayton *the nearest city), the Daily News, WHIO TV and WHIO Radio. It seems not to have been covered by the websites of the town’s 2nd newspaper, 5 other TV stations or several other radio stations let alone covered by the media in Cincinnati or Columbus even thought they are only 40 and 80 miles away. Most of the “several pages of google search results” turn out to be to unrelated stories from the Dayton Daily News with links to the story in the “Most popular in Local News” sidebar the rest are from blogs and forums.

Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax

Sunday, October 5, 2003; Page C03

A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family's Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her, pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

Fairfax County police said Bertha Champagne, 62, had worked for several years for Marvin Bush, President Bush's brother, and lived at the family home on Fort Hunt Road in the Alexandria section of Fairfax.

Officer Courtney Young, a police spokeswoman, said Champagne had gone outside the house about 9 p.m. Monday, reportedly to retrieve something from her car.

The vehicle had been in gear, police said, and appeared to have rolled in her direction when Champagne was in front of it.

After pinning Champagne, Young said, the car continued rolling toward Fort Hunt Road, near the intersection of Edgehill Drive.

Champagne was taken to an area hospital and declared dead that evening. Young said she did not know the cause of death.

When did the Post learn the woman worked for Bush? I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't have consider the story newsworthy otherwise. Nor it is surprising that what is considered borderline newsworthy in a place like Dayton isn't in a place like DC. And since some pages go offline after several months it's quite possible more stories were about the incident at the time. Why would the Bushes want to hush up the story?

As has been reported previously on this site, my investigative history of the Bush family, Family of Secrets, has four JFK assassination-related chapters -- scores of revelations, backed up by documents and interviews. Clearly, many of those posting comments here are not familiar with that material.

I am not a researcher of american political history nor am I any kind of expert but Russ your book is pretty incredible and fortified with valuable information. My ONLY gripe (thus far) is that you seem to have overlooked just how well E. Howard Hunt may have known the Bushes, going as far back as working for Averell Harriman and thus, would most likely have known Prescott Bush. However, that point aside, great, great read, well for a mostly uninformed reader anyway lol.

Well Seamus Coogan pretty much neutralized John Hankey and his ridiculous video. You can read it over at ctka.net.

My review of Baker's book is coming out in a day or two. I took 26 pages of notes.

In the entire book, there is one section that has real value: HIs discussion of George Jr. and the Air Guard. Which is good.

The rest of it is so specious, so illogical, so weakly founded that I am trying to wonder if anyone else who says they read the book actually did read it. Because Baker is a slick salesman. But if a book is really good, you don't have to sell it. The quality speaks for itself.

This guy spends about 90 pages trying to implicate Bush Sr in the JFK hit. He does to the Parrott memo what Hankey did to the Hoover memo. He wrestles it to the ground and milks it for all its worth. Even when its not there. He even tries to imply that the guy who was lending Bush his plane, well, there was really more to it than that.

But as poor as that part is, his two long chapters trying to implicate Bush in Watergate, are probably even worse. On this one he spends 75 pages and comes up with zero.

And he doesn't stop there: he tries to implicate the guy in BCCI, the Marcos gold heist, and even Operation Phoenix. At the end he achieved the impossible, I actually began to feel for George Bush Sr. I don't know how he missed the Holocaust.

To me the book is generally Alex Jones stuff. I will post my review when its up. Or maybe someone else can. Here it is.

http://www.ctka.net/reviews/family_secrets.html

Sometimes I think progressive thinkers have a tendency to form a circular firing squad when criticizing fellow researchers. Not saying that all of Seamus Coogan's remarks (about John Hankey) aren't valid. However much of what Hankey's videos show is true. Perhaps up to 90% of it.

Jim E is a very respected researcher. I've listened to and enjoyed his broadcasts with Len Osanic several times. However as a relative newbie to JFK conspiracy thought I have perhaps a more favorable view of Hankey and Russ Baker too than does Jim. Not because I know more than Jim of course but because I come much more recently from the pool of previously uninformed audience concerning JFK and other plots. I can see Hankey and Russ baker as earnest people who have well outlined some basic stuff that the average Joe doesn't know.

If we look at Hankey's JFK works what are some of the major points he illustrates?

1. CE:399 all by itself discredits the SBT. Important stuff not much seen by the general public.

2. Oswald's clear association with intelligence organizations. Both FBI and CIA likely. And his involvement with David Ferrie, George De Mohrenshildt other characters etc. He surely wasn't a "lone nut".

3. Allen Dulles and the CIA. Warren Commission and other stooges designed to support the SBT/Oswald acting alone.

4. Hoover, and Graham Kitchell memos linking George Bush to Dallas/CIA Nov. 1963.

5. Prescott's association with Howard Hunt, Nixon and various other unsavory characters.

And many more areas where Hankey is simply drawing attention to very important facts and evidence the ordinary person has never seen (concerning JFK). And while I agree that the supposed meeting Bush had with Hoover where the ice guns are depicted does seem silly this doesn't necessarily devalue the whole film. Even Oliver Stone took some liberties with his film JFK. Made it more interesting. Plus there are some really nagging questions and irregularities with the official story about John Kennedy Jr's. plane crash too. Facts withheld by the press and unknown to the general public.

My major critique of Hankey is that he has relied in the past on Alex Jones for his distribution. At least initially. Alex Jones tends to devalue everything he touches even if I find myself agreeing with him about half the time. I sometimes feel that Jones, like Rush Limbaugh, may be funded by the very criminal enterprises he pretends to be attacking. By making himself look ridiculous Jones actually might be helping the NEW World order or whatever he calls his adversaries.

So I think we need to look at Hankey if not as useful then as someone who has shown the strong ability to CONNECT with the previously uninformed audience. We can respectfully disagree with some of Hankey's assertions but Seamus Coogan goes too far with his critique. His observations are mostly petty and apparently PERSONAL. I have no doubt that Coogan knows a good deal about JFK research. This is why it disturbs me that in his criticism of Hankey (some of which is valid) he makes himself look like he is splitting hairs and all but calling Hankey a fool which he is not. Hair splitting being a tactic often employed by those in denial of certain truths or with an ulterior motive/agenda. It was completely unnecessary.

Now in Russ Baker's book "Family Of Secrets" I found to be very informative. My biggest complaint being that the story of the Bush family is simply so ugly that by the time I got to about page 200 of Russ's book I found myself nearly getting sick to the stomach with the new knowledge of the slimy stuff the family does...

Truly the Kitchell memo DOES raise questions! If it isn't the "smoking gun" connecting Bush to being a supervisor of the assassination then it is at least is the smoke off the gun. Or to put Kitchell memo in an analogy:

Bush is in the room, near the murder scene of the crime of the century, someone dies under his watch and he is seen leaving the room, and making shaky alibis and false statements about his activities. Then many years later Bush expresses no recollection of these events despite worldwide attention to the catastrophe. A true WTF? moment...

The average reader is indebted to anyone who brings this matter (of Bush and Kitchell/Hoover FBI memos) down front and center. To this we all should be grateful for Baker's book.

Like Jim said I'm not quite sure about the Watergate/Bush connection. Clearly Bush and Hunt are up to something. Baker is sniffing in the right direction, I'm just a little fuzzy about his conclusions.

Things I'd like to know more about Bush not mentioned in Family Of Secrets:

1. The two assassination attempts on Jerry Ford in Sept., 1975 and his near immediate response of putting George H.W. Bush in charge of CIA. Were Squeaky Fromm and Sara Jane Moore "Message deliverers?"

2. Ronald Reagan's assassination attempt shortly after his initial inauguration and the possibility of George Bush then becoming President. Like the Moore and Fromm screw ups the murder attempts weren't professional. However it sure may have sent a very important "message" to Reagan: Screw with the Bush's and you're dead.

End of my first post at this forum!

B.A.,

I am not really equipped to comment on some Bush factiods but wasn't it proved some time ago that the name of the ship Barbara was not named for Barbara Bush but for the Boat Captain's wife, I think under the former owner. I'm just bring this up because I think there are some facts around about Bush that linger on that we like to bring up may not be all that relevant.

But personally I think that Bush did have something to do with the operation against JFK. Perhaps we are giving him more credit at this point for his role. at that point he probably had a vague idea of something going on and was doing little bits to help out and reinforce a name for him self. Only started to read "Family of Secrets" but I think the rise of Bush Sr. is much of an enigma in spite of all the research done on him. No question that he and his family, though, with all those South American operations that they have been in were support for the CIA. Just wonder if all that United Fruit and Chiquita banana stuff was an award to him for his efforts.

It depends how one defines "involved." Did GHWB know right-wing Cubans who may have been a part of the plot? Absolutely. But there is absolutely zero evidence Bush was involved in the assassination itself, and Hankey's movie--which is far from new, by the way--only clouds the issue of who was really involved by pretending Bush I and his dad Prescott were central to CIA shenanigans. He's blowing smoke.

Seamus Coogan wrote a review for CTKA dismantling his nonsense.

Coogan dismantles Hankey's nonsense

Absolutely and eaaaaaaasy killer lol....we have more reason to believe than NOT in face of some evidence, that Bush WAS involved in the Assassination at least to SOME degree. Just as we have reason to believe based on some evidence, that he was IN the CIA BEFORE he became the Director in 76. We have MANY more reasons to believe he was involved and an operative far before he joined in 76. My god, they make him director, they then name the Bldg. after him later on, and why is he THAT important?...well my educated guess knowing the american political system, is that he did his part well and he (being a power broker himself) knows the right people)

Also, Pat, what are you saying, that Bush may have known Right-Wing Cubans involved..? Wha..? How so? Bush doesn't "remember" where he was on that day, let alone the phone call he made....What evidence do you have to suggest Bush may have known possibly some of the Cubans involved? Not to mention (what I strongly believe) HIS name on the Hoover Memo.... Gotta love it: "Operation Zapata", "The Barbara" lol....great stuff.....

Gentleman, there is no memo that links Bush to the JFK assassination, Period.

What Hankey did to the Hoover memo was a disgrace, which Seamus exposed as nothing but fabrication.

What Baker does with the Parrot memo is not quite as bad, but its in the same league.

There is no credible evidence that links Bush to the CIA prior to the Bay of Pigs.

Thus there is no evidence that Bush was a CIA officer or agent before 1963.

And what Baker did to implicate Bush in Watergate as a CIA operative is nothing but vapor, which I was at pains to detail.

The incredible thing about this book is that it basically ignores what the true crimes of the Bush family are, to try and insinuate them in crimes for which there is next to no evidence.

Problem is that Bush makes a great villain in a story. Absolutely irresistible for the reader.

Agreed about Hankey and his Hoover memo. Even when I got sucked in to his movie a few years ago I felt he'd really blown it. If only from the point of pure theater. Sort of a drama only a twelve year old would enjoy.

What are your thoughts on his JFK Jr. plane crash notes Jim? Was there really a 15 and 1/2 hour delay before the search and rescue? Obviously Hankey is suspect in all of his claims now. "Does the Easter bunny still exist?" might be a more relevant question.

After I re-read Seamus's critique I fell more into his camp. Was originally concerned about Cooghan's smaller criticisms of Hankey. There are at least a couple petty matters before he gets to the big stuff.

Lately Hankey has been concurring with Russ Baker on the Graham Kitchell memo concept. Russ should distance himself from Hankey if ever the two meet. As for that memo? It marks that something is rotten in Dallas and Bush. We just don't know what yet.

I'd like to hear some informed speculation regarding Bush/Kitchell interview.

What I've "learned" from John Hankey is how powerful the JFK conspiracy is in a drama. Whether fictional or real. Maybe some of the brighter, more creative heads here could encapsulate all the facts we know into a serious video. Using real facts. That would be a very motivational film.

Agreed about the Bush memos I think G Winston B lied, he admited to being a watch officer on the night of the assassination and was of similar rank to the DIA guy, yet denied he was the "George Bush of the CIA" who recieved the routine communication that night.

Hankey seems to a crackpot, his work on the JFK Jr. crash was equally specious.

Jim,

Tossing aside the 1963 Hoover memo and the curious naming of the recently built, CIA HQ building in Langley after GHW Bush, a man who served as DCI for less than a full calendar year, there are observations to be made; and when taken together, they seem to make an counter argument justifying further investigation.

Bush probably did not formally join CIA but he was surrounded by it and the people who created it and told it what to do. Tom Devine was probably "assigned" to Bush and Zapata, just as he was assigned to deal with DeMohrenschildt and Clemard J. Charles, in 1963.

GHW Bush grew up shuttling between Greenwich and Jupiter Island. His father Prescott and grandfather Samuel were associated with Samuel F. Pryor through Pryor and Samuel's St. Louis roots and then by way of Samuel's "service" on the small arms and ordinance WWI war production board and Pryor's directorship of Remington UMC. Prescott's fellow Yale bonesman included Lovett, appointed by Patterson in '45 to chair the committee that created the CIA, and Lovett's best friend, Trubee Davison, who became director of personnel at CIA in '51. Lovett is buried in an L.I. cemetery not far from Davison's grave. Lovett's Jupiter Island home was the hopping off point for Forrestal on his way to a fatal stay at Bethesda.

Pryor bought Jupiter Island in 1930, and his daughter, Permelia, and son, Sam Pryor, Jr. sold off the lots there to the right people. Fellow bonesman Juan Trippe, with backing from CV Whitney and William A Rockefeller, founded Pan Am Airline, Sam Pryor, Jr. was a Pan Am V.P. for 30 years, and he's buried in Hawaii next to a Pan Am consultant, Charles Lindbergh, the son-in-law of the Morgan lawyer who became Morgan partner who replaced Davison's father, Dwight Morrow. Prescott Bush served as a Pan Am director.

In 1954, Zapata Off-Shore Company was formed as a subsidiary of Zapata Oil, with George H. W. Bush as president of the new company. According to the journalist Michael Hasty (2004), Eugene Meyer, the publisher of the Washington Post, and his son-in-law, Philip Graham, were major investors in the new company. At the time, Graham was working for the CIA on the Operation Mockingbird project.

...For regional ambassadors, Kennedy turned mostly to career foreign service officers....There were two main exceptions.

First, William B. "Butts" Macomber, a former top Dulles aide, longstanding Republican, and Eisenhower Doctrine enthusiast, was sent to Jordan. Macomber first saw JFK in action the day the future president was sworn in as a senator--a ceremony that Macomber attended as the guest of a senator from the other side of the aisle, Prescott Bush of Connecticut, the scion of a Republican dynasty. During Macomber's stint as Dulles's assistant secretary of state for congressional relations, he and Kennedy had struck up a rapport....

1946- William B. Macomber Jr. finishes wartime service as USMC officer serving in the OSS in Europe and in Burma,. Later, he officially is in CIA two years, then has a long career in the State Dept. Then C. Douglas Dillon appoints him to president of the NY Met. Museum of Art, a position he seems to have little qualification for. William is best man in GHW Bush's sister's 1946 wedding. He is best man in Thomas J. Devine's 1973 wedding. In 1960, he inquires about defectors and learns of Oswald's name. In 1972, he is sent to Haiti in haste to secure the release there of the kidnapped US ambassador. He witnesses's JFK's oath taking as a freshman senator, as a guest of Prescott Bush. He marries John Foster Dulles's personal secretary, Phylis Bernau.

1973- John D. Macomber, William's brother, and McKinsey and company partner, mentors new hire, Harvard MBA Michael L Ainslie. Both soon leave McKinsey, and John becomes president of Celanese Corp. He hires Thomas J. Devine as V.P. and Devine is quickly promoted to V.P. and controller at Celanese. John has a myriad of connections after 20 years at McKinsey, and later he provides a total of $172,500 in capital, along with William Draper III, to Bush's son George W's unprofitable oil ventures. GHW Bush, as US president, rewards both John and Draper with high level appointments. in the mid 90's, John and Michael Ainslie become high ranking directors at Lehman, serving respectively on the executive compensation and audit committees when Lehman suddenly imploded in Sept., 2008. Both are named as defendants in ongoing lawsuits by stockholders.

In 1980, with seemingly little experience, aside from serving as an urban development aide in the NYC mayoral administration of Nancy Bush's wedding usher, John Lindsay, Michael Ainslie, age 36, is hired by chairman, CARLISLE H. HUMELSINE, as president of National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Somewhere after Sept., 1973, when Bush escorted Suzanne B. Hooker down the aisle to marry Ames Braga, and the mid 1980's, Michael Ainslie became Suzanne Hooker Ames's second husband. Braga was the son of B. Rionda Braga, the sugar magnate who shared his executive, Michael JP "Jack" Malone, (CIA asset AMPATRIN) with Bob Kleberg of the KIng ranch in Texas.

Kleberg's sister was the widow of a co-founder of Celeanese who had died in 1949. She was CEO of the King Ranch.

Kleberg, through Jack Malone, had purchased and financed the overhaul and operation of the WWII sub chaser, Vejana III, used covertly bv the CIA afainst Cuba in operation AMDENIM.

Ames Braga's father, B. Rionda Braga, was the first cousin of Placido Ervesun, who was married to Nina Osterman, sister of Valnetine "Vala" Osterman Byfield, wife of Ernest Byfield Jr. until her death in 1970. Ernest's mother Gladys Tariere, rented her 400 acres horse farm in Middleburg, VA to JFk as a weekend white house from late 1960 until early 1963. Byfield's father in Chicago created the Pump Room restaurant and hired and promoted Patrick Hoy who became close to Sidney Korshak and other prominent mob figures. Hoy was hired by Henry Crown in 1960 as General Dynamics VP.

Suzanne B. Hooker was escorted down the aisle in 1973 by Bush because she was the daughter of Bush's late schook roommate, Edward Gordon Hooker. Hooker went unmentioned in both memoirs later written by George and Barbara Bush. Maybe it was because Edward Hooker was the step-nephew and business partner of Oswald's best friend, George DeMohrenschildt, or...because the best man in Hooker's 1946 wedding was S. Willets Meyer, first cousing of Cord Meyer of the CIA. Bush's oil business partner in the 1950's, later his travel partner in an early 1969 trip to the warfront in Viet Nam, was Macomber's V.P. at Celanese, Thomas J. Devine, a former CIA agent who met with George DeMohrenschildt and Haitian banker Clemard Joseph Charles in May, 1963. Devine reported details of the meetings to CIA under the OP designations WUBRINY and WUSALINE.

Secretary of State George C. Marshall to Carl Humelsine, 27 September 1947 (154k) Authenticity Meter: Medium-High Level

On 27 September 1947 George C. Marshall writes to his Executive secretary Carl Humelsine about the tragic consequences if the present rumors about New Mexico events are disclosed to the public. Humelsine is resistant to sign an agreement to remain quiet concerning these events because he has already heard about them through other sources. The memo states in part, "…(a) you are unwilling to commit yourself to any agreement regarding not communicating its contents to any other person in view of the fact that you felt you already knew certain of the things probably referred to in the memo, as suggested to you by seeing the security reference ‘MAJIC' and :D you could not feel that such a letter as this could have been addressed to you without the knowledge of the President…." This ozalid (early carbon duplication) printing process memo is authentic for the era and would be difficult to fake.

Carlisle Humelsine, 73, Who Led Board of Colonial Williamsburg

By SUSAN HELLER ANDERSON

Published: Saturday, January 28, 1989

Carlisle H. Humelsine, former chairman of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, died of heart disease Wednesday at Williamsburg (Va.) Community Hospital. He was 73 years old and lived in Williamsburg.

Mr. Humelsine, who from 1973 to 1980 was also chairman of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, went to Williamsburg after seven years at the State Department, where he served as either deputy under secretary or assistant secretary to four Secretaries of State: James F. Byrnes, George C. Marshall, Dean Acheson and John Foster Dulles. He had served in World War II as an assistant to General Marshall, who was then Army Chief of Staff.

He resigned from the State Department in 1953 and joined Colonial Williamsburg, the restoration of the capital of colonial Virginia, as executive vice president. He became president of the foundation in 1958 and chairman in 1977, and retired in 1985. Under his leadership, Colonial Williamsburg increased attendance and widened the support it receives from philanthropies.

Mr. Humelsine, born in Hagerstown, Md., graduated from the University of Maryland. Among posts he held at various times were chairman of the Virginia Department of Conservation, president of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, vice president and trustee of the National Gallery of Art, trustee of the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Va., director of the National Geographic Society and chairman of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission....

In view of what we now know about William Butts Macomber Jr.; that he was a close friend of Prescott Bush, his son-in-law Alexander Ellis, Bush cousin Harry Walker, and of Thomas J. Devine, it seems even more important to point out that he was aware of Oswald's name and background in 1960. Macomber either commissioned the "survey" of defection statistics, or was one of a small group of principals who requested it. Doesn't it seem convenient, in the scheme of the subsequent chain of events, that this "study" was undertaken?

Joan Mellen wrote about the background of the document displayed above, but did not mention Macomber's name in her essay, only in her notes:....

I am willing to grant that Bush was a CIA asset involved in the Bay of Pigs.

And that his company probably served as cover for parts of Mongoose.

But there is a difference between being an asset, an agent and an officer.

Anyone who studies this case understands that. And they are important distinctions.

Baker wants to make Bush a CIA officer and at an early date. To do so he uses evidence which I feel is not credible. And I explain why in the review.

As per the JFK case, and Watergate, just don't buy his cases. And he spent a lot of pages on both.

As I mentioned on Black Op, there was a reaction against the Bushes starting after the Iraq war went south. It was even prevalent in the MSM and Power Elite. Its a phenomenon that has to be accounted for by any journalist. Just as much as if one were writing about Nixon or the Clintons, one has to be on guard for this stuff.

You think the "accounting" has gone against the Bushes? I think almost all working journalists know which side the bread is buttered on and neither they nor their editors ever want to bite the hand that feeds them.

This isn't the place to discuss whether or not GW Bush should be investigated for committing what Robert Jackson at Nuremberg called the primary crime against humanity, initiating aggressive war against another sovereign nation, or whether Bush approved of the practice of torture as a government policy, but the history and associations of this family are pretty well documented.

Close Prescott Bush/George Walker associate and partner, Samuel F. Pryor, was an original incorporater of both Hamburg Amerika Line and of Union Banking Corp. His son, Sam Pryor, Jr. pushed Hermann Goring's agent on Willkie in 1940 for the money that agent could funnel to Willkie's campaign.

THE LIVES THEY LIVED: ANNE MORROW LINDBERGH, B. 1906; The Heroine

.....Then, in an anguished attempt to reconcile her husband's politics with her Smith College humanism, she made a terrible mistake: ''The Wave of the Future.'' In less than 100 pages of murky and illogical prose she tells the world that we must let Fascism take its course and learn to live with it, if necessary. In other words, do what she did. Submit.

The book's negative reception pained and humiliated her. She was considered as bad as her husband -- anti-Semitic, egomaniacal, a tool of the Nazis. What made the situation so much worse was that she didn't believe what she had written. She had done it all for Charles. Well, she never would again. ......

Topic: Why was Anne not buried with Charles?

...Her most controversial published work was her 1940 book "The Wave of the Future," in which she appeared to share her husband's favorable opinions regarding Nazi Germany. Speaking of the book in a 1973 television interview, Morrow Lindbergh admitted, "It was a mistake... It didn't help anybody... I didn't have the right to write it. I didn't know enough."

Pryor Jr. misled congressional investigators in the matter of his acting as an intermediary in Bobby Baker contacting

Pan Am coporate officer and president of Pan Am's Intercontinental Hotels division, John B. Gates. At that time, Pryor Jr.'s daughter had been married to Lowell Thomas Jr. for 15 years. Lowell Thomas was a principle in Mary Carter Paints, and his protege, Thomas Murphy and Murphy's brother, were principles in the Bahama Resorts and Casino scheme, and the two Murphys were married to the sisters of James Crosby.

Yet, here are GHW Bush and Karl Rove, praising a book on Pryor, Jr.'s life, published last year.:

http://samuelpryor.com/Home_Page.html

President George H.W. Bush: "I have read every word of Make It Happen and got an enormous kick out of it."

Karl C. Rove: If anything, Make it Happen underplays Sam Pryor's role in the 1940 Republican Convention and nomination of Wendell Willkie. Pryor was the pivot on what so much turned in those quick and important months.

If "journalism" was seriously practiced in the US by employees of mega-corporate owned media, the relationship between Edward Gordon Hooker and his step-uncle, George DeMohrenschildt would have been exhaustively explored and written about, as would Hooker's relationship with this roommate, GHW Bush, and Bush's relationship with Tom Devine,

CIA Wubriny agent interfacing with DeMohrencshildt and Clemard J. Charles. Wm. B. Macomber's role in looking at Oswald and other defectors in 1960, along with his role as Bush family and Devine "best man" would have been investigated and reported on.

C. Douglas Dillon, son of Clarence, a man described when he died, as the wealthiest man in the U.S., appointed Wm. Macomber as presidentof the Met. Museum of Art. Paul Mellon's sister, Alise Mellon Bruce, was described in Time in 1969, at her death, as the wealthiest woman in the U.S. Both Douglas Dillon and Paul Mellon had homes on Jupiter Island.

Greg, the Bushes, Pryors, McCloy, the Macombers were all in service to the wealthiest families in the U.S. They and their "masters", The Rockefellers, Schiffs, Warburgs, Dillons, and Mellons were not investigated and reported on aggressively because the incentive to do that is willfully removed, in fact, it has been negativized by the power that immense wealth can buy. Have you read Upton Sinclair's 1919 book, The Brass Check? Nothing has changed since he wrote it.

http://www.monthlyreview.org/0502rwmscott.htm

“Journalism is one of the devices whereby industrial autocracy keeps its control over political democracy; it is the day-by-day, between-elections propaganda, whereby the minds of the people are kept in a state of acquiescence, so that when the crisis of an election comes, they go to the polls and cast their ballots for either one of the two parties of their exploiters”

(p. 222). “You will miss the point of this book,” Sinclair writes later, “if you fail to get clear the perversion of news and the betrayal of public opinion is no haphazard and accidental thing; for twenty five years…it has been a thing deliberately planned and systematically carried out, a science and a technique. High-priced experts devote their lives to it, they sit in counsel with the masters of industry, and report on the public minds, and determine precisely how this shall be presented, and how this shall be suppressed” (p. 262).

Schwarzenegger in 2003 would not have been the only California Gubenatorial recall vote choice whose Nazi family past would have been reported on by a real working press. Gray Davis's grandfather's financing of Willkie on behalf of Hermann Goring, with the indispensable aid of Sam Pryor, Jr. would have been grist for the honest, open, thorough, and balanced reporting "mill", too. None of it was.....

Just an impression, a frisson from history's sandpaper edge: When I heard GHWB interrupt an address to decry the things written about his family on the internet, I thought of Louis XVI defending Marie Antoinette, Or Nicholas II faced with the slurs on his family (wife a German spy; Rasputin the cuckolder of the Czar). Tragedy and farce, as Marx wrote. But which incident was which?
