Ukraine antifascists, supporters welcome release of activists

Jan. 6 — Four Ukrainian anti-fascist activists detained in the Donetsk People’s Republic for two weeks were freed Jan. 3 and have now safely returned to Crimea in the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, an Odessa activist tortured and held for almost four months by the U.S.-backed Ukrainian regime was freed Dec. 26 in a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and people’s militias in the Lugansk People’s Republics.

All five are members of the revolutionary Marxist organization Union Borotba (Struggle).

Victor Shapinov, Maria Muratova and Maxim Firsov had been held by the Special Division of the Vostok Battalion of the people’s militia since Dec. 21. They were arrested by soldiers while on a solidarity visit to Donetsk to meet with activists and officials. Alexei Albu was detained Dec. 26 while trying to win their release. The activists have been living in exile in Simferopol, Crimea under threat of arrest for their anti-fascist activities in Ukraine.

Initial reports of the arrests stoked fears that they might be handed over to the Ukrainian regime as part of a prisoner swap, endangering their lives.

Their detention and subsequent expulsion from Donetsk highlights the sharpening class struggle and political contradictions in the People’s Republics of the Donbass mining region, also known as Novorossiya, which declared independence from Ukraine following a far-right coup in Kiev last year.

Odessa massacre survivor freed

Vlad Wojciechowski survived the May 2 massacre of anti-fascist activists at the Odessa House of Trade Unions, where he suffered serious head trauma at the hands of a neo-Nazi mob. In September, he was arrested by the SBU, the Ukrainian equivalent of the FBI, on trumped up charges of “forming a terrorist organization.” He was subsequently imprisoned and tortured.

Wojciechowski was finally liberated just before the New Year in an exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and the Donbass republics.

In a statement published at Borotba.su, Wojciechowski said, “I am very angry with the fascist government of Ukraine, which proved once again with its barbaric acts that it is willing to wade through corpses to defend its interests and those of the West.

“They failed to break me. And my will has become tempered steel. Now I’m even more convinced that it is impossible to save Ukraine without defeating fascism on its territory.”

Ukraine’s government in Kiev, backed by U.S. and European Union imperialism and NATO, has carried out a bloody war against Donetsk and Lugansk, targeting homes, schools, hospitals, the civilian infrastructure and killing thousands.

In December the U.S. Congress and President Barack Obama reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s aggression with the so-called “Ukrainian Freedom Act.” Among its provisions are millions of dollars in additional aid to the far-right junta of oligarchs, neoliberal politicians and neo-Nazis in Kiev, along with the direct supply of weapons and war materiel.

International solidarity to free antifascists

Despite the distraction of year-end holidays, the four Borotba activists detained in Donetsk drew wide international support demanding their release.

Groups in solidarity with the Donbass republics and Ukraine anti-fascists issued an international appeal to Donetsk officials. It read in part:

“The four activists and their organization have been steadfast leaders of the anti-fascist movement since the first days of the U.S.-NATO-backed coup in Ukraine. … These comrades have been essential to building international solidarity with Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as the anti-fascist movement inside Ukraine. They are valuable allies of your struggle against the Kiev junta and NATO expansion.

“Mistakes happen in war time. It is not always easy to tell friend from foe. There is no shame in this. But there is still time to correct the mistake before it becomes a tragedy.”

The appeal, initiated by the U.S.-based International Action Center, was co-signed by Colombia’s March Patriótica movement, Britain’s militant RMT Paddington No. 1 Branch of the transit workers’ union, former U.S. Congressperson Cynthia McKinney, Joe Lombardo of the United National Antiwar Coalition, and solidarity groups from Britain, France, Greece and the U.S. ( The full appeal can be read at No2Nato.org )

Borotba members in Donetsk, in Simferopol and others exiled in Europe worked around-the-clock to free their comrades. Together with international solidarity activists, they appealed to influential individuals to speak out, and many responded, including Donetsk-based journalist Graham Phillips, military analyst Boris Rozhin (Colonel Cassad), Italian punk band Banda Bassotti, Russian champion athlete and communist youth Maryana Naumova, and leader of the Russian Communist Workers Party Victor Tyulkin.

In a statement issued following their release, Shapinov, Muratova, Firsov and Albu noted that direct appeals for their release from high government officials, including vice chair of the Donetsk People’s Soviet Denis Pushilin and parliamentary leader Boris Litvinov, went unheeded by the Vostok Battalion leaders.

“After two weeks of detention in the Special Division,” the activists report, “members of the Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) came.They told us that we would be immediately taken to the Russian border and deported from the DNR. They also reported that we are forbidden to enter the territory of the DNR and the Lugansk People’s Republic.

“In response to a question about the motives of deportation, Ministry officers said, ‘Now you are with us for one thing, and then we do not know what you want to do.’ Apparently, there is a view that as representatives of the communist movement, we could start an opposition to the activities of the current DNR leadership.

“At the moment we do not have enough information to make an unambiguous conclusion about what is behind our arrest and expulsion from the Donetsk People’s Republic — banal excessive vigilance of intelligence agencies, political denunciation or some kind of political order. In any case, such actions with respect to sincere friends of the Donbass rebellion only harm the reputation of the People’s Republics.

“Despite this unfortunate incident in which we were unwitting participants, we have not changed our attitude to the People’s Republics and the anti-fascist uprising in the Donbass. We remain bitter enemies of the Kiev regime of oligarchs and Nazis, and friends of all who oppose fascism.

“However,” they continue, “some recent developments, including our arrest and deportation, give rise to legitimate concerns — whether the original spirit of the anti-fascist and anti-oligarchic revolt will continue, or will it be buried in favor of commercial and political interests of various groups operating in the republics?” ( The full statement in English can be accessed at Borotba.su/newsen.html )

Crisis in the Ukrainian economy will have the minimum impact on development of the Donetsk National Republic (DNR), the official representative of DNR at negotiations of contact group on peaceful settlement in Donbass Denis Pushilin considers.

"Crisis in economy of Ukraine was predictable, and there is nothing surprising that it began. We all this time looked for anti-recessionary measures. We already have certain practices in this question. Therefore crisis in the Ukrainian economy will make the minimum negative impact on development of DNR" — Pushilina quotes "Donetsk news agency".

Ukraine is in serious political crisis which affects its economy and the budgetary sphere, actually the country on the verge of a default. The authorities want to correct the developed situation by foreign loans. As the main creditor the IMF which opened the two-year credit program for 17,1 billion dollars acted. From this sum of 4,6 billion Kiev received in 2014, other funds have to be allocated in 2015. The financial help to Kiev was also provided by the World bank, the European Reconstruction and Development Bank, the European Investbank and a number of the countries. In general in 2014 Ukraine received financial aid for the sum about 9 billion dollars. Thus the cumulative national debt in 11 months made 69,3 billion dollars.

Internal political crisis in Ukraine provoked falling of hryvnia exchange rate and, as a result, reduction of internal consumption, falling of internal and external investment activity and recession of economy. According to National Bank of Ukraine, following the results of 2014 falling of GDP made 7,5%, the expected rate of inflation — more than 25%, and a budget deficit — at the level of 5%. Now a number of analysts believe that falling of GDP of the country can reach 10%.

LUGANSK, January 8. /TASS/. Russian humanitarian convoy delivered to Lugansk and Donetsk the aid cargo - food products, medicines, and Christmas presents for children, Oleg Voronov, deputy head of the national crisis management centre, told TASS.

As unloading is over, trucks from Lugansk and from Donetsk will head for Russia.

DONETSK, January 8. /TASS/. Ukraine’s forthcoming wave of mobilization is a provocation against civilians, the deputy defence minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Eduard Basurin, said on Thursday.

The leader of "The right sector" Dmitry Yarosh on air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels promised to set off the grenade at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

Why in the Ukrainian conflict the truth behind Novorossiya's militia and Russia? Why not beyond the USA and their native administration in Kiev? Not because that we, supporters of the Russian world consider ourselves always right, we think that we "good", and they are supporters of the West – "bad".

Simply in all the main, defining an essence things, questions — the truth on the party of the anti-fascist resistance supported, in a varying degree, by the Russian Federation. And therefore our business, business of resistance to the American puppets usurping the power in Kiev — right and a victory in the geopolitical fight which is conducted the Western world against the world of Russian will be for us! Here questions honest answers on which, confirm this conclusion.

1) Who, contrary to international law, interfered with internal affairs then still of sovereign Ukraine, organized and financed overthrow of the duly elected president?

2) Who has to govern in democratic (without quotes, and from the words "power of the people") the country – the one who won the elections controlled by real opposition, oppositional mass media, international (and not entirely western) observers, or the one who will take a central square of the capital?

3) Why the western proteges in Kiev didn't organize carrying out in Ukraine under independent international control of referenda on all questions which split society:

— federalizations (and after all all large countries in the world – federations);

— one or two state languages (for example, anywhere in the world there is no country in which not that a half, and a quarter of the population speaks language which isn't recognized state);

— association (as many countries of North Africa and South America) about the EU or the introduction in EAES;

— the accession to NATO or a vneblokovost (23 years successfully providing the world in Ukraine), and instead of free will of all people of Ukraine tries violently, to impose the will through the rivers of blood?

4) Why the Kiev junta can't allow a public trial on one of the massacre committed in 2014 in Ukraine:

— murder of Berkut officers and "Heavenly one hundred" on the Maidan (and present, what if lawyers in court will lay out nobody the disproved proofs of fault in massacre, including tens supporters, organizers of the Euromaidan, for example, a fundamental issedovaniye of the Canadian professor of the Ukrainian origin Ivan Kachanovsky?);

— "The Odessa Khatyn" (some of the direct murderers detained by the Odessa militia are released by the Kiev vessels, under "consequence" only those who survived in a hell, having escaped on the rooftop of labor unions, what can show them in court – that they shot, poisoned with gas, burned alive the adherents or how dared to survive?)

— Malaysian "Boeing" (what there the court can be if the Kiev junta is afraid even of the dispatcher who sent the plane from a usual route to a zone of fights to show if the main suspect – the pilot Voloshin if any explanations for proofs of escort of the brought-down liner by other plane if isn't present aren't offered isn't interrogated and there can't be proofs of existence at a militia of funds of defeat of the purpose for 10 km. to height (not only "Beech", and and RLS without which "Beech" grew blind?);

— the burials recorded, including, and observers of OSCE, the testifying to mass executions on Donbass of wounded and captured rebels, hostages (it can under new Ukrainian "laws" not crimes, but "feats of heroes of Ukraine", but here on the international – humanitarian and war crimes without limitation period).

5) Why not Poland with Germany, not the EU and not all rich West, but poor Russia directed "by the main thing vorogy of Ukraine" during the most difficult winter period without advance payment (that in the relations with the actual bankrupt means for nothing) delivers coal and the electric power to Ukraine, rescuing from cold millions of Ukrainians who are least protected in the social plan (thus understanding, what drugged by the western promotion, the majority of them will see all the same in Russia the enemy and fascists will be able to prolong the agony)?

6) Why in the forefront Ukrainian "eurointegrators" (that is allegedly politically correct supporters of democratic freedoms) — fascists and "pravosek" with swastikas and other nazi symbols, adherents of the agent of an abver Bandera, the agent CC Shukhevich, ideological followers of a division CC "Galichina", a Holocaust and the Volynsk slaughter of Poles, football fans besides with nazi symbolics and other "morons" (both the Czech president and Ukrainian "democrat" Yanevsky considered nazi torch processions as though burning of people alive in Odessa or policy of "scorched earth" on Donbass much more earlier on testified a fascist essence of the Kiev mode)?

7) Why "terrorists" didn't kill in the West and in the Center of Ukraine of any civilian, and "anti-terrorists" of ATO killed thousands of civilians of Donbass (from them ten children) and who, leaves — the real terrorist? And, maybe, the militia went crazy and itself fires at settlements under control to it, leveling with the earth the residential quarters occupied by the family?

8) What such "democracy" was established by the USA in Afghanistan bleeding and split after their intervention, Iraq, Libya, Syria … To Ukraine, for the sake of what such "democracy", according to the American president, the world has to reconcile to transatlantic hegemony and how many still "otdemokratizirovannykh" of corpses have to leave the Yankee for establishment of planetary unipolar "happiness"?

9) What democratic freedoms are cut down in the USA after a clumsy performance of attack of "four planes" (two of which were completely dissolved on a place of explosions), and what democratic freedoms remained in Ukraine after pro-American "a brown Maidan"?

10) Why from all countries of the world only the USA and their colonies most deprived of civil rights – Canada with Ukraine, were against the anti-nazi resolution in the UN?

11) Who in the world carries out global espionage, including for the allies and their leaders (and whether not because Frau Merkel, contrary to the German interests, is so obedient the Yankee)? Who has the right to be enough extrajudicially any inhabitant of the planet and if not to liquidate it at once, for years to keep in secret prisons? And who therefore is real "the world gendarme", but not virtual "dictator Putler" whose "the fifth column" of alien "liberals" can freely throw at "despot" mud in the mass media belonging to oppositional oligarchs day and night, including on TV and radio (while in the same to "otdemokratizirovanny, European" Ukraine all oppositional mass media are destroyed)?

12) Why carried out "the Ukrainian national revolution of advantage", financed, and, so and reaps its fruits, Jewish олигархат (besides almost entirely Russian-speaking)? Where anti-oligarchical slogans of the Maidan, including about discharge of business from the power got to (here the president – the candy king Valtsman-Poroshenko with Kolomoyskimi-Tarutami's governors-oligarchs and other, truly, laugh)?

13) What sign of a system are extrajudicial punishments, terror in relation to all dissidents, "witch-hunt" (including publication of personal data of "separatists" who those were recognized not by(with) a consequence or court, and any "teenager" having a grudge against the neighbor)?

The list of questions can be continued and further "baker's dozen". And sense? Or not all is clear to you? As it is impossible to be half pregnant – it is impossible to be the "democrat" conducted to "paradise" by nazis with swastikas. No purpose justifies such means which already deprived many thousands of Ukrainians last year. You either against fascism or on its party. Everyone for himself makes a choice in the country occupied by sionobanderovets.

From this choice in the come year in Ukraine to take cover to nobody, the same fascists will demand implicit submission, any free-thinking for them as a red rag for a bull. In their plans – genocide of the people of Ukraine: excessive utility payments, the "European" prices of medicines and products, mass mobilization and continuation of a slaughter on Donbass. All "delicious" pieces of business will appear at the same "the main raider of Ukraine" Kolomoysky (this title of Ben deserved in "dashing nineties") with accomplices and at the American multinational corporations. The western bankers will buy up for nothing the Ukrainian chernozem (in vain perhaps the IMF insists on cancellation of the moratorium on agricultural appointment sale of land)? Thus, the last property which remained with the people of Ukraine will be lost. That's it it, and any not "the movement to Europe" (the cool, by the way, term which can be stretched for years and decades) – one of the true reasons of the organization of the Euromaidan.

Because the Kiev junta, and her owner – Fashington in Ukraine won't give the power. Not for this purpose they captured her, not for this purpose the USA spent five billion dollars for the Ukrainian revolution. And after all in what world of "double standards" we now live if the country which organized overthrow of the duly elected power over the ocean doesn't hide it, and brags, including the specified spent billions? Really – "the evil of the power and that the majority reconciled to it is proud"!

The majority reconciled, and here Russia dared сопроивляться! How so? "Poverty, голь perekatny", and dared to oppose to "world predominant force"! To crush it sanctions, the falling of the prices of the main articles of export organized by "our" bankers a ruble collapse! Let keeps at a distance! And if it to lower, one never knows, any opponents of "the unipolar world" like China, Iran (yes you never know recently "the courageous divorced") will arrange to India, Brazil overthrow of the duly elected president somewhere in Mexico, war at the American borders, the world shadowing and kidnapping of all objectionable under the pretext of fight against "terrorism". Than to cover the Yankee, when at "finger in the pie"? If "color revolutions" don't work — it is necessary to begin war with the nuclear countries? And "to gegemonit" sense over the dead planet? Whether it is easier to fly really on the Moon (but not to organize as already 45 years ago the Hollywood filming)?

When almost and everything is clear to all – not clear (at least for me) is one question – why in the Ukrainian conflict Russia occupies a defensive, but not offensive position? Why the Russian president justifies more often, but doesn't bring direct charges to the West and its Kiev puppets? Why don't it tell: "A barrack, you, a creature brown (and in form and in content), I won't shake hands with your toady Petke and with you I won't have any affairs. On your paws blood of thousands of killed inhabitants of Donbass, blood of hundreds of passengers of Malaysian "Bonga", tens alive the burned inhabitants of Odessa. You – nits fascist. As our fathers — grandfathers beat fascists, and we with fascism won't be reconciled! Yes, the fascism came again (now — your efforts) to our earth. But any dreamer will have your end as about world supremacy! Because, as well as seven decades ago — our right cause! The enemy will be broken! The victory will be for us!"

"The right sector" created a company of marauders from Lviv and promises a hell near Mariupol

The head of "the Right Sector" of Lvovshchina Artem Lutsuk told about creation of a separate 8th company of DUK "Aratta" which is based about Mariupol.

The voluntary Ukrainian Case was replenished with new fascists bandits — the 8th separate company of "Aratt".

News of Ukraine strike. In Vinnytsia region, in the village Komsomol on the eve of Christmas two unknown got through a window into the house of the elderly priest and his spouse. They began to demand from the priest money. But they at the attendant of a cult didn't appear. Them I didn't arrange 1000 hryvnias. In response to refusal, criminals started scoffing at owners cruelly.

Now injured spouses are in Kozyatinsky regional hospital. As the chief physician Vladimir Ivanchuk confirmed, the man in a serious condition lies in reanimation. His wife was lucky more, the woman is treated in traumatology with bruises and bruises.

Alexander Bednov couldn't but appear on Donbass while fascists started storming it. Because he is the Soviet officer. Having arrived to the southeast of Ukraine the volunteer, it by May of last year created absolutely small group which was engaged in capture of tipper-ofs and spotters of fire in Lugansk and vicinities. Destruction of DRG of the opponent and mobile mortar calculations which got into Lugansk and the neighborhood of the city.

War sets tasks rigidly. In conditions when chasteners of nazis were resisted by workers and collective farmers, more or less trained combat units were required. "Batman" was engaged in combat training of staff. 20 hours per day! Soon its division grew to a full-fledged battalion, and in the subsequent to crew. Military operations crew велав vicinities of Lugansk (northern front, region of the Metalworker and Village Lugansk, and also in the south). Exactly here chasteners sustained essential losses.

Besides Bednov's crew carried out cleaning from forces of the opponent of settlements Georgiyevka, Communist and Vergunki.

Took place defeat of a column of the opponent around Bakhmutki. Betmen's fighters completely crushed enemy columns of chasteners, including a column of "Aydar" in September.

Having received popularity and support among supporters of "Novorossiya", Bednov under pressure of companions decided to try policy.

In October, 2014, it was declared creation of public organization "Front of Release" which had to nominate Alexander Bednov on elections of the Lugansk national republic.

The sociologists who were secretly carrying out measurements of public opinion were categorical: charismatic and basic Bednov the obvious favourite, Carpenter's shines nothing!

After that, on strange combination of circumstances, "The front of release" refused registration. And refused a rigid form. Bednov's group was fired, three fighters were wounded.

Bednov adequately behaved after that mean political course of those who pushed Carpenter's in presidents of LNR. I didn't begin to pose as offended, understanding that the main fight with fascists ahead.

At the end of October it in common with the division was a part of the 4th crew MO LNR.

Approximately in the middle of November its division was thrown in the Red Beam.

In December Bednov was appointed to a position of the chief of a staff of "the 4th motor-shooting crew of National militia of LNR" which includes also the Cossack divisions, "National militia".

It continued the fight against fascists.

The authority of the Russian officer continued to grow. It became some kind of prototype of the general Lebed. In the sense that its popularity not only among a militia, but also in the people began to constitute danger to the present power of LNR and first of all for Carpenter's. There was a saying: "Bednov, jumping out from an entrenchment, orders: do, as I! And Carpenter's, sitting in a warm office, isterit: do as I speak!"

And when Betmen was engaged in investigation of frauds of the power with humanitarian aid from Russia which and is sent today to the markets and realize for money, opened schemes of illicit supply of coal to Ukraine and so forth, its destiny was predetermined …

The officer Bednov was killed very professionally. Are sure of LNR that this work of fighters of ChVK of Wagner whom rebels call the personal killer Plotnitskogo. I don't undertake to claim, so it or not, but actions of murderers I estimate on five points that speaks about their high professionalism.

Today the lost son of Russia Alexander Bednov who arrived to Donbass to struggle with fascists at will of the officer conscience, try to present in negative light. Negative misinformation which is sounded by the villains serving those who pays them for this lies extends.

It is clear. Thereby try to cast a shadow on all militia. Certain forces do everything to merge Novorossiya's project from within. It is very important for them. They design a situation when the disappointed volunteers returned to Russia and became a driving force of an anti-Putin Maidan. Not incidentally already promise them money that they will arrive in the appointed hour per Moscow.

Here also it turns out that our volunteers in the Southeast of Ukraine battle not so much for Donbass, how many for Russia and its president. And in a case of full disappointment, they can really become a driving force of the anti-Russian and anti-Putin Maidan …

There was the fifth day of my searches at least someone who could help me to contact military journalism and correspondence.

Everything began with that revolted me ignorance and a zombirovannost of people who live in Ukraine. All of you can contemplate their attitude towards me and towards all people from DNR and LNR, having come on any Ukrainian public. All of them total about half a million people. People who are signed on these pages, live in other information field, and they have absolutely other truth. From here and hatred to us. Of course, if to show on news how the valorous Ukrainian army is at war with Russians (not separatists or terrorists, namely with Russians) why they won't hate us for our love and respect for the mother of Russia? For this reason I wanted to inform up to the masses the truth, which at us here now.

Of course, everything isn't easy and not so sweet. It also couldn't be. To develop the state in the conditions of war and daily attacks of the peace cities — it even sounds ridiculously. And here is how it turns out: I — the witness of those events which occur in my city and vicinities. But I can't get not that to epicenter of events and a message the video reporting — I can't even arrive on a post and to photograph there the events. Nobody will understand my good intentions, and or certificates I simply have no permission. Nobody will want to take me since I too have neither education, nor experience. Then it isn't enough one desire to help people to inform the truth.

And all problems and even among our population — because of an innuendo and lack of reliable information. I will give a simple example: at us in Enakiyevo shots on New Year's Eve were audible. People became indignant: "How so? We have a truce". Very few people know that Gorlovka met new under akkompanement of guns and mortars. And without knowing this fact, peace people will begin to perceive this situation differently, and their (situations) a huge number. It in a root is wrong. After all force in the truth, isn't it? Honestly for us. And what sense from it if nobody hears it? But I won't calm down and I won't cease to look for opportunity to help people according to events of our city, region, etc.

War civil or Domestic? This question is quite applicable in relation to territories of already former Ukraine. Many politicians, political scientists including considered pro-Russian, use the term "civil war in Ukraine". Thus the equal-sign between belligerent parties is put. The equal-sign between the neo-Nazi junta which came to the power on bayonets of the "Right sector" sponsored by the White house of the Euromaidan, and the people, the simple toilers of mines and plants who opposed ideology of neo-nazism, borne national guard is put.

Of course, it is possible to draw a parallel between military opposition in Donbass and Civil war of 1917-1920. Then representatives of different ideologies were also at war: "red" Bolsheviks and "white" imperets, were also representatives of other ideological lines as "green" makhnovets and other. However then, though in the presence of foreign support, the conflicting parties fought with each other for Russia. Bolsheviks tried to get rid in every way of crushing terms of the Brest world, and white sought to keep the semi-independent states in territories under control to them in a format "United and indivisible Russia". Unless is such in the territory which remained from Ukraine? "Edyna Ukraina" in this plan isn't feasible any more and supporters of her unity not today, so tomorrow will lose protection of the western partners, and consequently, and the power.

At the same time there is another, closer to us on time a historical parallel. Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Here much priyemlemy to allocate Red army and the collaborators consisting including from CC "Galichina" and unitary enterprise, those people, whose great-grandsons are at war as a part of national guard in a zone of so-called ATO today. There is a full preservation and continuation of traditions of "heroyev-Banderovites". The concept "fennel" is also a synonym of the word "Banderovite".

So unless somebody, except thorough neo-Nazis, calls the Great Patriotic War civil?

In Donbass, in the former Southeast of Ukraine and in the arising Novorossiya, there is Patriotic war дончан and луганчан against neo-Nazi troops of official Kiev. Of course, it is difficult to compare any war to the Great Patriotic War — it put too awful and not healing wound to Russia. Though in Russia there was Patriotic war of 1812. World War I called not only Great, but also the Second Domestic. After all the main principle of any Patriotic war — protection of a home against the enemy, the invader, the murderer of civilians. Animal, eventually. And after all differently as animals of fighters of the Ukrainian army you won't call.

Therefore it is possible to say safely that in Donbass there is a Patriotic Novorossiysk war of 2014-2015. And in it the people of the Donetsk and Lugansk national republics will get a victory this year!

On January 9, divisions of the Ukrainian army tried to force the bridge through the river the Seversky Donets. Attack of the Ukrainian infantry I was it is beaten off by divisions of LNR, in a course of action the artillery and mortars were used.

From both parties there are dead. As a result of artillery duel four houses in the center of the Village Lugansk suffered. Data on the victims among civilians are specified.

Today, on January 9, the Ukrainian army broke a truce in the territory of the Lugansk National Republic at least four times.

And while during a videoconference of representatives of the Minsk contact group the question of the admission of freights through this check point on the territory of LNR of the European humanitarian aid, and also on what Ukraine especially insists, the Ukrainian humanitarian escorts intended for establishments of the social sphere to me was discussed information from the Joint center for control and coordination of questions of ceasefire and stabilization of the line of differentiation that specifically at present there is a full-scale fight arrives, attempt of the armed break of the Ukrainian security officers to Lugansk is realized from Stanitsy-Lugansky. I at once sounded this information to all participants of a videoconference, however I didn't see proper response to my application from representatives of the Ukrainian party", – Vladislav Deynego after end of a videoconference of the Minsk contact group declared.

Vladislav Deynego also noted that earlier the Presidium of National Council of LNR approved the text of the address addressed to Poslu by OSCE in Ukraine to madam Heidi Talyawini and directed it to the Kiev mission of OSCE for e-mail, and during preparation of a videoconference it provided a "paper" copy of this address to representatives of OSCE for transfer to madam Poslu today.

In the specified statement it is about series of continuous provocations from the Ukrainian party which purpose was a creation of a technogenic catastrophe in LNR. When temperature of external air reached 20-25 degrees below zero, owing to actions of diversionary groups power supply of a number of settlements, the large industrial enterprises was broken and that is especially critical, objects of heat supply that could lead to repetition of the technogenic catastrophe of 2006 which occurred in the city of Alchevsk, but already in republic scales. Besides, in the address the attention was focused on a number of organizational measures for restriction of ways of movement of citizens of LNR that substantially complicated registration by pensioners of the special statuses of temporarily displaced persons allowing to receive pension.

"In what format will pass further negotiation process, it is precisely not known. According to the last statements of the Ukrainian party in the press, the meeting in Berlin in a format of "the Norman four" is possible on January 12, however productivity of such negotiations in a separation from further work in Minsk a format raises doubts as one of the parties of the conflict, representatives of the National Republics, will be debarred from negotiations on a resolution of conflict that excludes possibility of search of a reasonable compromise without which, according to experts in the field of conflictology, achievement of positive result is impossible" – Vladislav Deynego summed up.

As soon as didn't speak of his statements of analytics and policy in Europe, Russia and on Donbass. Naturally, Europe and the USA enthusiastically spoke of all statements of the "unfortunate politician" urging to fight against "The Russian aggression" which once destroyed fascism both in Ukraine, and in Germany.

However secret from all was a reaction of simple German burghers. Today on the Internet there were videos on which residents of Germany meet the prime minister of Ukraine by shouts "the Fascist!". Thus in hands at them - flags of Novorossiya who wasn't recognized still only by the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic South Ossetia.

Burghers catcalled not simply the head of the government of Ukraine, they dishonored all Ukrainian policy, having shown the disagreement with destruction of civilians on Donbass.

Nobody can doubt the brutality of Putin’s Russia. But the way the Ukraine conflict is covered in the west should raise some questions

Reading the global and Australian media recently, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Russian president Vladimir Putin is a dangerous demagogue who threatens the security of the world after his country’s involvement in Ukraine and Crimea. How many times have we seen those infamous shirtless photographs of Putin looking menacing and comical? Are we tired yet of journalists and commentators pontificating on a so-called “new cold war”?

Australia’s most popular news website, news.com.au, published a long article last week – pushed as the lead story of the hour – that was the perfect distillation of this disturbing yet predictable trend. It opened with a cute piece of comedy: “We know he loves to strut around shirtless, pose shamelessly for Kremlin PR photographs and invade former Soviet republics.” What a monster! What a brute!

Over many words, peppered with Buzzfeed-style images, the piece reminded readers that Putin was a former member of the KGB who carefully crafts his “macho” image and loves to “butterfly swim through chilly lakes”. Readers would have discovered almost nothing about Putin and Russian attitudes towards global affairs, but such stories would presumably please the White House, which is desperate to frame Putin as the archetypal enemy of the 21st century. Such a message grows from the belief that “our” political and business leaders should be treated with far more respect than non-western figures ripe for one-dimensional portrayals.

After all, it’s far easier to smugly ridicule Putin and his friends while believing our own media is far more inquisitive of power. The evidence for this, however, is in short supply. Too often, the issue of US “prestige” is reflected in comments by journalists who are alleged to be independent from the state department line. And when was the last time a self-described serious outlet mocked Barack Obama, Tony Abbott or David Cameron for their choice of clothing?

Of course, nobody can doubt the brutality of Putin’s Russia. From state-sponsored homophobia – US writer Jeff Sharlet’s recent shocking essay in GQ magazine revealed the desperation of being gay in the nation – to anti-democratic measures against non-violent dissent, Putin has constructed an authoritarian state that tolerates little opposition. This should all be loudly condemned and challenged, and there can be no excuses for any of it. But Washington, with a record of flagrantly breaching international law over Iraq, Afghanistan, drones, extraordinary rendition and torture, might be hypocritical when denouncing potential Russian breaches of law.

The media coverage in Australia (and much of the world) over Ukraine has also too often ignored that state’s historically close ties to Russia. While there is a younger Ukrainian population today who craves greater integration with Europe and its more liberal ways, the idea that pro-Moscow attitudes are only held by older generations is false. We should also always question the focus of media coverage around high profile and reporter-friendly events, protests or even riots. Astute journalists who reported around the Arab Spring should know that the main story is often far away from the image-friendly masses in squares, however undeniably vital they are to capture.

Even more glaringly, the possible role of neo-conservative doctrine within the State Department in undermining a democratically elected (if thuggish) government has been absent from local coverage. Only a minority of journalists have seriously examined the possible financial reasons for Russia and western meddling in Ukraine, with the local currency diving against the US dollar in the last months. “This is jolly good news only for disaster capitalism vultures”, wrote the astute Pepe Escobar in Asia Times. Hear anything about this in the mainstream media? No, me neither (though I’m happy to be corrected).

The Australian newspaper, fond of talking tough over war and peace and instructing our leaders to invade and occupy other nations when America comes asking, praised Australian prime minister Tony Abbott for “taking the right approach” and chastising Russia. “The west needs a fundamental reappraisal of relations with the Kremlin”, boomed the paper.

One of the more revealing attributes of western media chest-beating has been the outrage over the RT (formerly Russia Today) TV station, a Russian-government outlet. When two anchors condemned Moscow’s moves in Ukraine and Crimea, both women were praised as truth-tellers. RT, of course, offers a Kremlin-backed narrative, and we can judge it accordingly, but the criticism of the channel in the west presumes that our media is so much freer and open when analysing war. How quickly we forget the ways in which CNN, as just one corporate example, makes editorial decisions which could be questioned when considered in light of their sponsorship model.

The people of Ukraine and Crimea are suffering and face years of uncertainty over their fate. An accountable and fearless media class would investigate the reality of both American and Russian meddling in nations that directly benefit their strategic and financial positions.

DONETSK, January 10. /TASS/. The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) regards Kiev’s activities in Donbass as “an attempt to undermine implementation of provisions of the Minsk agreements,” the DPR official representative at the peace talks, Denis Pushilin, said on Saturday.

“We have come to these conclusions after taking into consideration the Ukrainian authorities’ latest actions,” the Donetsk news agency cited Pushilin as saying. “In particular, Kiev intentionally deepens the humanitarian catastrophe by imposing additional conditions for getting pensions and social benefits on those [people] who enter the area controlled by Ukraine, namely by a demand to obtain a status of temporarily displaced person.”

Ukrainian military continue shelling Donetsk with heavy weapons and also launch combat actions near the village of Luganskaya, Pushilin said.

“It [the shelling] occurred right at the moment when the Contact Group was holding a video conference yesterday,” he said. “We cannot see a proper reaction to these events from the Kiev side after they received this information in the process of talks.
