Steve Thomas
Trump's mugshot T-shirt cash grab could backfire and cost him millions: legal experts by Tom Boggioni September 2, 2023, https://www.rawstory.com/trump-mugshot-2664806962/ “According to SiriusXM radio host Dean Obeidallah, there is a legitimate legal case to be made that Donald Trump is violating U.S. copyright laws by selling merchandise emblazoned with his Fulton County mugshot -- and that could lead to major financial difficulties for him. Noting that the former president has boasted that he raised a quick $7 million after his indictment in part by selling $34 mug shot t-shirts and “Never Surrender” coffee mugs for $25, he asserted the Fulton County Sheriff's department could come after the former president. "Various legal experts have noted, Trump’s sale of that mug shot, taken by the Fulton County sheriff, may violate U.S. copyright laws. This could mean that theoretically, the millions he is making off that photo may rightfully belong to the Fulton County sheriff — an entity that just happens to be in desperate need of funds to address the horrific conditions in the Fulton County Jail," he wrote. Bolstering his case he added, "Betsy Rosenblatt, a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, recently explained to Spectrum News 1 Ohio that the copyright owner of Trump’s mug shot is likely the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office."” Steve Thomas

W. Niederhut
Yo, Ron, quite a thrilling college football game in Fort Worth today! Deion Sanders' son, Shedeur Sanders, threw for 510 yards and 4 TDs in Colorado's improbable 45-42 win over TCU-- a single game school passing record for Colorado QBs! I know my wife loves me, because she was happy for me, despite being a TCU alumnus. I think Coach Prime could probably be elected governor here at present. What a remarkable human being... I watched every play. Every time the Buffaloes scored, I said loudly Rah Rah TCU. They did not fear the frog. It was so close throughout, then what 4-5-6 lead changes in the second. Shedeur was incredible, so accurate. He could have been closer to 600 yards with a couple of long bomb dimes he dropped into the receiver's hands who then dropped them. I'd stay off the streets in the Denver - Boulder area this evening. I'd bet a few citizens are out celebrating. The stadium in Boulder will be rockin next weekend for the home opener against old rival Nebraska. Hottest ticket in town.

The Deion Sanders Experiment at Colorado Begins With a Wild Win - WSJ This mornings Sunday Fort Worth Star Telegram front page 2" lead at the top: Buffaloed! Colorado and Coach Prime stun TCU. Same thing on the front page of the sports section with a picture of Dylan Edwards cruising and article takes up 2/3 of it. 2nd article below it: Deion Sanders was ringmaster of this three-ring circus. "In TCU's last three games - against Michigan, Georgia and Colorado - the defense has allowed an average of 51.6 points and 560 yards per game." It end's with: Deion Sanders just came to Fort Worth with what amounted to four players, and the Clown came away a winner. I think the writer was a little PO'd. Ron, In a strange turnabout, I've been arguing with some TCU detractors today on a college football forum. I have referred them to some stats showing that TCU has been one of the most underrated teams in modern NCAA history. In fact, TCU was the single most underrated team in the entire NCAA in 2022. They don't get much respect, considering what they have accomplished. 2022 Overrated/Underrated Teamsstassen.com/preseason/over-under/2022.html

I was thinking about this subject the other day, and the fact that LBJ announced in late March of 1968 that he would not seek re-election. There's still plenty of time for Biden to retire and allow some younger Democrats to vie for the nomination.
