Yes, and he wanted to Trade Puerto Rico for Greenland.

That's right Steve, remember Puerto Rico had that hurricane, and Trump made a photo op of tossing out those paper towel rolls?

Then he got resentful that they were one of those "shithole" territories costing us money in relief!

Somebody probably told him about the great deal Lincoln and Seward made purchasing Alaska.

And he seriously asked Denmark to make a swap!

Trump figured he'd melt the polar icecaps and then be able to mine Greenland for yet more oil and other raw materials.

*******

Taylor Swift is careful not to endorse Harris. WhyTF? She can fill any stadium in any major city in the world!

Some of my families kids fly their kids 500 miles to attend a Swift  concert with them the way my parents use to drive us to Disneyland!

Hasn't she got enough money and followers already?

Doug, I think it was because I had older brothers. I know every one of these!

Let's speed ahead years. This is the top 10 for April 4th 1964.

This was as result of a period of Beatlemania over the previous 4 months where the American public was acquainting itself with  Beatle songs that had been released in 1963.

I remember first hearing Please Please Me, in I think it was the Spring in 1963 and being impressed with the unusual style and chord changes, but I didn't know they were British.

The Daily Beast is reporting today that RFK,Jr.'s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has suggested that RFK, Jr. join forces with the Trump campaign, to avoid undermining Trump's candidacy.

WTF?

Chicago Hot Dog Shop Selling 3" Donald Trump Wieners During DNC (thealtmedia.com)

I ate at Weiner Circle A LOT in the 90s after raucous nights out. The burgers are also fantastic and the cheese fries use real Wisconsin cheddar, not that canned fake stuff. Mui delicious.

I mean, the Kennedy family warned us, didn't they? He clearly does not surround himself with good people.

Buddy Holly must have stood out when he first took the stage at the Apollo Theater on August 16, 1957. The theater guests, mostly African Americans, had come to the show that night expecting to enjoy the soulful sounds of Roy Hamilton, Shep and The Limelites, Clarence “Frogman” Henry and a black R&B group called The Crickets, led by Dean Barlow.

Without Buddy Holly and the Everlys the Beatles would have probably sounded a lot more like Chuck Berry & Little Richard.

A side note:  when I lived in KC in the 80s the morning DJ that I listened to on the drive into work - Max in the morning - wanted to protest the playlist (or something) and for a couple days (IIRC) just played Clarence “Frogman” Henry's Ain't Got No Home over and over for hours on end.

Former President Donald Trump took time out of his day Tuesday to muse that people can't even go to the grocery store anymore without getting raped, mugged or even shot.

"You can't walk across the street to get a loaf of bread, you get shot, and you get mugged, you get raped, whatever it may be. You've seen it. I've seen it," Trump said.

That's why I, personally, have all my bread delivered.

You might laugh, Steve, but there is a lady here in this area that delivers baguettes every day.

Well, FWIW,  there are more photographers, cops, and tourists out tonight at the DNC than there are protesters.

Super beautiful outside tonight here in the Windy City. Perfection.

I love French baguettes.

They used to sell baguettes called, "Vie de France," in our local grocery store.

Then they disappeared!  I almost took up baking, to make my own, but it's too much work.

Regarding the Beatles, KC, Little Richard, etc., the Fab Four used to sing Little Richard's version of, Kansas City.

Of course, they borrowed from many artists, but I think the Beatles may have derived some of their early hard rock sound from Motown-- e.g., Twist and Shout, which they recorded, but also songs like Do You Love Me? (1962) by the Contours (which they never recorded, to my knowledge.)

I wonder if anyone has ever asked Paul and Ringo if they were influenced in 1962 by Do You Love Me?
