Doug,

I certainly, hope that the Secret Service, and others, are evaluating the possibility that a Russian weapon could be used against Vice President Harris.

I have known one prominent person, in particular, who was victimized by the KGB circa 2000.

Putin is capable of anything.  He used to run KGB ops out of Dresden, after graduating from the Yuri Andropov Institute, and his father worked for Stalin's NKVD Destruction Brigades during WWII.

I ruled out sending my letter with the attached article to the head of the Secret Service because it could get lost in the organization's present chaos. I chose instead to send it to the FBI Director because I knew that he in turn would send a copy of it to the head of the Secret Service where because if was from him it would get the attention needed.

Doug,

I've been telling people since 2007, based on my direct observations in the Russian Orthodox Church, reading ITASS, and some private correspondence, that Putin was establishing a fascist police state in the Russian Federation.

I wouldn't compare it to Nazi Germany, per se, but it does bear some similarities--nationalism, authoritarianism, intolerance of dissent, and even a kind of Russian "Hitler Jugend" type organization for Russian youth.

Putin's jackboots have also murdered journalists, political opposition leaders, and beaten up gay rights protesters.

I'm amazed that some liberal intellectuals still don't seem to realize what the Russian Federation has become.

  • Donald Trump -

"I want to thank the families of our Great Warriors who have been lost to us for the way they came together as one, and thanked me for attending, at their request, the Celebration of their wonderful family members who, because of the Incompetence of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, are no longer with us. Thank you for saying you wanted me to stand with you at Arlington National Ceremony, and take pictures, that it was your request, not mine, but it was my Great Honor to do so."

And, it was your fault that my campaign committee put together a political campaign video of my visit, and it was your fault that they put that video on my TikTok page. And I know I was told ahead of time that that kind of stuff was illegal, but you should have known better.

A time capsule here. I ran across this,

Because he can be so easily caricatured and made fun of, people forget that Phil Donahue lost his show on MSNBC because he was too anti George Bush's War in Iraq.

Here he very cooly, beats the brains out of misogynist  douchebag, De Mohrenschildt fibber,  Pro Iraq War, Bill O'Reilly.

We shouldn't forget he was a good guy and a force for good!

Here Donahue talks about losing his job at MSNBC.

RIP Donahue.

I had no idea he was married to Marlo Thomas.

Bad news, folks.

Jeff Bezos and WaPo are now fluffing Trump.

I was appalled to see this article about the Arlington debacle at WaPo today.

With boost from grieving military families, Trump sharpens Harris attacks - The Washington Post

Then I read the reader comments and everyone else is also furious at Jeff Bezos and the new Murdoch-esque WaPo management for publishing this dreck.

I cancelled my NYT subscription in 2017 for this reason.

Now I'm planning to cancel my Jeff Bezos/WaPo subscription.

What's left-- the Guardian?  🙄

I quit using Amazon a couple of years ago in every case where I could find what I wanted on the provider's website.  I then order directly from the provider.

The Dems should make class the issue, IMO, and let the chips fall  where they may.

The trickle-downer-Limbaugh-ilk fans are never gonna vote for them anyway.

I've been listening to this old 1965 Tom Rush recording all month.

Great art, IMO.  Tom Rush took an old Memphis blues song and re-crafted it significantly.

You can tell it was written by an impoverished black bluesman, but Tom Rush sings it in an unaffected style, like a New England Caucasian folkster trying to re-create the poignant, artistic spirit of the original song.

The original song was written by a northern Mississippi blues singer named Bukka White--aka Booker T. Washington White-- an older second cousin of B.B. KIng.  (In fact, White introduced his young cousin B.B. King to the Memphis blues scene back in the day.)

Bukka White's old (Lomax?) prison recording, called Special Streamline, is of poor audio quality.
