My favorite line from any book or research article

There was never going to be a funny one liner from a curmudgeon like Weisberg, but his summing up of the W.C., (not a one line quote) says it all:-

The government never really intended to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and it never did.

It never intended to tell us what really happened, and it didn't.

It never at any time sought the fact of this frightful crime, properly called that of the century, searched for the available evidence or followed each clue to the truth, regardless of the consequences.

There never was any let-the-chips-fall-where-they-may inquiry.

Indeed, there never was what reasonable men can call an inquiry, a decent pretence even of an investigation.

From the very first moment there was, at best, what I call a "whitewash", nothing better, and one so thin it was transparent.
