  1. She should run. She's already been in the Oval Office. Well-connected. Highly-intelligent, well-educated, and urbane, like her parents. Kudos to her. --Thomas ["Pass the burgundy you baaastard!" (LOL); I'm literally weeping for her [and for Barrak (for whom I voted) and for us as a country/people as we speak; "Yes We Can," Baby Dogs] "Jesis Maria!" (Czech)
  2. [emphasis by T. Graves] ________________________________________________________________ Great post, William. Now please allow me to relay a personal anecdote or two to y'all, in an attempt to keep the Forum up close, and well, personal: 1) As some of you know, my adoptive father, the recently-deceased Dr. Orville Melvin Graves, Jr (!) was a close friend of Krulak's in La Jolla. He even took "Brute" to visit my much-wiser older brother at my brother's house in "North County" one day, entirely unannounced (which is not surprising in-and-of-itself as that was our Dad's basic "MO"). Well, during lunch, my brother, who had been an officer in the Air Force during 'Nam, was asked by Krulak how the food had been ('67 - '69?) at my brother's base in the Phillipines. In my mind this tends to verify the image of Krulak's having been very concerned about the welfare and morale of enlisted men and junior officers, in general. 2) My Dad told me that when he first met Krulak (at Inchon, I believe, around the time of the Chosin Reservoir battle and retreat), Krulak ordered my Dad to take his brass bars off of his lapel (proper terminology?) because they made too nice a target for enemy snipers. 3) A few years ago, my Dad gently corrected my grammer (sp?) one day by telling me, "The gerund always takes the possessive." Having re-read Krulak's letter to Prouty (thanks to you, William), I now got me a sneakin' hunch that he learned this rule of grammar from Krulak and, as a good father, just passed it along to me. (See above; "emphasis by T. Graves") --Thomas PS So William, do you think that Krulak might have had something to do with JFK's assassination, or just the unconscionable dirty rat attempt by the our military-industrial-mafia-intelligence complex to "off" or otherwise incapacitate, politically and/or physically, your buddy Castro? Just curious, William. PPS Super Bowl prediction: My Chargers 31, your Eagles 6 PPPS Anyone know any juicy insider information or insight for that matter on that soon-to-be-released report on the super secret, hush-hush covert op "When The Whip Comes Down" by The Rolling Stones? Details coming your way soon, right here most probably. Go, you Chargers. (The perennial West Ham United of American football. LOL
  3. ___________________________________________________________ Spot on, John, as usual. Almost sounds like another conspiracy ( LOL). The Hammers are now my second-favorite English FC, second only to Preston North End (because my mother's maiden name was Preston, lol.) Hoping that the Lilywhites upset Liverpool on Saturday and can eventually play themselves back into the Premier/Champions League. --Thomas PS If I'd lived in West Ham at the time, I'm relatively certain that I'd have been a card-carrying member in good standind of ICF. LOL
  4. General Victor "Brute" Krulak died two days ago, in La Jolla. Hopefully, he wrote his memoirs about his interesting life and, hopefully, they'll be published. Hopefully, he shares his thoughts and/or observations about the assassination. We can only hope that he did, that they will, and that he does. --Thomas
  5. Obama is already covering up something as petty as his chief of staff's phone conversations with Governor What' His Name of Illinois. Before he even takes office he's proving himself to be your typical stonewall-it establishment politician. (Is he afraid he might lose the election? Oh, wait, that's over, I guess it's time now to worry about reelection in 2012.) If Obama does anything about the JFK cover-up, it will be to keep the cover-up going. ________________________________________________ Ron Ecker for President!
  6. Richard E. Sprague was a very decent man, without whose initial inspiration I would never have gotten into my own research on the assassination. Having never done in-the-field interviews, much of his information was based on other researchers and the "cast of characters" in his Taking of America turned out to be somewhat of a stretch. Be that as it may, his work on the photo evidence was landmark at the time. ________________________________________________________ Hi Dick, I vacillate between the L.B.J.-"Mac"Wallace scenario and the scenarios spelled out by researchers like you and Richard Sprague. Therefore, I do not ask this question to be argumentative; I just want to learn. Without going into any detail (unless you want to), which of Sprague's "cast of characters" do you think were a particular "reach?" Thank you, --Thomas
  7. ________________________________________________________________________________ William, I find myself more-and-more frequently convincing myself that the assassination was, truely, what you aptly characterize "an Infectuous Coup." A big-time Infectous Coup by L.B.J. and his "buddies," (probably involving none other than a certain "Mr George Bush of the CIA" lol), and the support of many of the "agencies" and "departments" under L.B.J. (and their respective extra-legal "associates"). Obviously, Kennedy had a lot of seriously heavy-hitting enemies, some of whom may even have had their own plans for JFK in Dealy Plaza. Whatever. Let us not forget that the fingerprint of L.B.J.'s long-time hatchet man was found on one of the "sniper's lair" boxes. Psycho killer Mac Wallace, that is. --Thomas
  8. _________________________________________________________ Robert, Points well taken, but not necessarily agreed with. (Well, maybe.... lol) Thanks for the input, --Thomas
  9. Thomas: Perhaps the reason that he was holding two different magazines representing two organizations that were anti-each other can be best understood if you look at the attorney that Oswald wanted, Jonathon Abt. Abt had acted as an attorney in a Smith Act case that had led to the overturing of the Smith Act by the Warren Supreme Court. The Smith Act had been used against both of the groups represented by the magazines held by Oswald in the picture at two different historical times. The Warren Commission would use this picture as evidence of Oswalds lack of understanding of the various left leaning organizations but if you read the testimony of James Patrick Hosty you will learn that Oswald was very much aware of the differences between the various Communist/Socialist groups. The use of the Smith Act circa 1941 was pushed by John J. McCloy in his position as Asst. Sec. Of War at a time when the Hitler Stalin Pact was being touted to slow war production in the USA by the CPUSA. It would be Earl Warren, as the VP Candidate in the 1948 election, that would call Truman soft on Communism, giving J Edgar Hoover cause to suggest the use of the Smith Act again in the the late 1940's and early 1950's. It is my personal belief that Oswald holding those two magazines in that picture (together with his request for Abt to be his attorney) shows a level of sophistication and intelligence on the side of Oswald that many wish to disreguard. I believe Oswald to be a multi-dementional character rather than the simple "patsey" WE seem to want to paint him as. [...] Jim Root __________________________________________________________________ Excellent point, Jim. I hadn't thought of that. I always did want to believe that Oswald was sending some sort of "message" other than the obvious one that his handlers wanted him to project, i.e. that he was a "Communist" or a "Communist sympathizer." I think that Oswald, by holding up these two ideologically-antithetical publications in the photo(s), was figuratively giving "the finger" to his (less-intelligent-than-him) handlers and, in a way, saying that it was a big joke as far as he was concerned, or at least that he was making a big joke out of it, and that perhaps he was also telling those who could "see" his joke that he really wasn't a Communist after all. But I might be giving Oswald too much credit here. Maybe his handlers wanted him to be photographed holding these magazines that were so "anti each other" so they, if questioned on it after the assasination, could say that it was just an example of what a mixed-up and un-informed young man Oswald had been... --Thomas
  10. At 1:55, I see the ABC/WFAA footage of LHO being led down the corridor toward the camera, then quickly through a doorway, camera right. If that's the scene you mean, the audio is: I don't know what dispatches you people have been given, but I emphatically deny these charges. _________________________________________________ Thank's for that, Stephen. You da man! --Thomas _________________________________________________ Bummer! Gary Mack just jent me a PM in which he says that you're misinformed regarding the clip I posted. Evidently we're talkin' about two different days here, Stephen.

  12. I am not sure that this is the real Al. There are a couple of things that ring true, but a few of the bio details seem to be wrong. Also, this person asked in the Bio section if I had ever contacted him; I have been in contact with the real Al many times, even staying at his home. I'll call Al today and check to see if it is him. YEAH IT'S ME.. CALL ME @504 278 5699 __________________________________________________________ Well, Stephen? LOL
  13. Did you ever contact me ? Regards AL BEAUBOUEF Bump
  14. _______________________________________________________________ Hey Jack, I asked Al Beaubouef yesterday if they had actually done any iceskating at the Winterland on 11/23/63 and he said that both he and Melvin Coffey did, but that David Ferrie didn't. He doesn't remember seeing Ferrie talking on a pay phone. I'm thinking that Ferrie did use a pay phone, and that said pay phone was out of view from the rink. --Thomas I'm predicting TCU 21, Boise State 6. Jerry Hughes will get four sacks and a fumble recovery and an interception. I've just read that TCU great Slingin' Sammy Baugh has passed away at 94.
  15. _____________________________________________________ Why are you somewhat confused, Terry? Al Beaubeouf is the real deal; he and Melvin Coffey accompanied David Ferrie from New Orleans to Houston the night and early morning of 11/22 and 11/23. (Try googling "David Ferrie" and "Winterland Skating Rink.")
  16. Hi Thomas. I don't know the whole sequence of events for Mr. Lovelady - however his nephew indicated to me that he was indeed 'detained' at some point - whether or not this was 11/22 or afterwards is unclear. I may go back to my old emails and see what I can find. Will take some digging.... Thirty minutes later...found one. Hang on. Two...... I know I have more - must have missed it somehow - ref for self - 245. Will have another go another day... - lee _________________________________________________ Hi Lee, Interesting stuff, indeed. Particularly interesting to me is that Lovelady, an avid hunter (and therefore probably very familiar with the sounds of rifle "reports") said that he heard RIFLE shotS coming from the GRASSY KNOLL in addition to shots OVER HIS HEAD. I take him as a most credible witness as to where the shots came from. For what it's worth, --Thomas
  17. ___________________________________________________________________ An interesting and important thread, I think, and therefore most worthy of a "bump" to da top of da list!
  18. ______________________________________________ Hadn't Ferrie helped Carlos Marcellos (sp?) get the deportation case against him dropped on 11/22/63? If so, perhaps Marcellos would have been sufficiently grateful to Ferrie to front him enough money to buy an ice skating rink. Just a thought. ______________________________________________
  19. ______________________________________________ By the way, an old friend of David Ferrie "from 1960 until David's death" called me a couple of days ago to clarify something. For real. He was very polite and even laughed at some of my jokes. He's presently trying to become a member of the Forum. Told me to call him anytime I want to ask him a question. Talk about being "connected!" ______________________________________________ Just found out from A.B. himself that he's "in." Hopefully well can all be civil towards him if and when he starts posting. Please? _________________________________________________ Al Beaubouef called me about an hour ago. We had in interesting conversation about "the various and sundry." I helped him learn how to navigate the forum including how to reply to a post, how to start a new topic, how to view a member's profile, etc. Thomas H Purvis was online for awhile, so, for teaching purposes, I had Al go and view Tom's profile, with the "inducement" that Tom's a good ol' Southern boy himself!
  20. Sorry to hear about your Dad, Tom. Not to mention the 'other' losses. Bunches, they only come in bunches! As far as the burgundy goes, anything other than Ernest and Julio GALLO will do! Take care, DHealy _____________________________________________________________________________ Thanks David. Much appreciated. Enjoyed the "Gallo humor," too! I'm a Carlo Rossi man, myself. $7.99/gallon at Vons

  23. ___________________________________________ Hey Jack, I was thinking of asking you if you're coming out here for the game. We could go together and I'll even let you sleep on my floor (as I do for my back and to avoid the bullets). LOL? Heck, I might even vacuum the "carpet" area under your sleeping bag. lol If you're a nonsmoker, I could absolutely and most definitetly abstain while you're here. (Well, maybe.) The 35 - 10 loss to the Sooners doesn't look so bad now that those jerks had to go and run up the score so darn high against their last five opponents, does it? Purple Haze, Baby! --Thomas PS It will be interesting to see if anyone on this occasionally-brutal forum offers me condolences on the passing away of my Dad. PM's are welcome. Sincere sympathy regarding your dad! No, can't make the trip. One trip every two years is our limit, and we went to Las Vegas back in March for the MWC basketball tournament. We can see it better anyway on our big new HD TV. With the Sooners number one, losing to them by the least margin of any opponent is quite noteworthy. LaDanien has been doing promotions for the game and will likely be there since the game is an unlikely conflict with the Chargers I think. He has been a big help with our recruiting. Go Frogs. Jack _____________________________________________________- Thanks Jack . I'm crying as i type this. Your respose hit me hard. go frogs

Not to mention his excellent syntax and grammar. Thanks Mark. It will be interesting to see if anyone else on this occasionally-brutal speck on the virtual space-time continuum offers me condolences on the passing away of my Dad. But I rather doubt it. PM's still welcome. Sorry to sound so angry, but I think some of you understand where I'm coming from. You should see me drive. lol Beats beating people up. And if you just don't care. well....... At least I have the consolation of knowing that I told my Dad several times that I loved him and thanked him for adopting me at four months of age. I was a lot more vulnerable then, I think.
  25. _____________________________________________ Now THAT'S interesting, isn't it? Great thread, John. --Thomas
