I saw a lot of shows on the Sunset Strip in the 90's. A dozen times or so I went to the Rainbow before or after the show. At least half the time Lemmy was there, acting pretty much like a greeter. Someone told me he lived in the area, and would just walk over and hang out cause he liked the attention.

Killed by death but still roaming the Earth in the hearts of millions.

I can certify that everything that you mentioned is true.Lemmy spent alot of time gambling on the draw poker machine at the Rainbow.I spent many nights on the Sunset Strip myself.

Lemmy has a statue of him that is located in the Rainbow in Hollywood.

  2. Rockers up the Ying Yang supported KNAC because they got airplay on KNAC.Magazines & shows like MTV's Headbangers Ball were always showing bands wearing KNAC shirts on stage and in person.

*Metallica flew in on the last day that KNAC was broadcasting to say goodbye and send them off on their last day.

If you have ever heard of "Mandatory Metallica" on your radio....you can thank KNAC,because that it where it was born.

Can’t forget the greatest band of all!

    Motörhead.

I was so close to Lemmy that,I could have played his bass guitar. There was a promotional type tribute thingy to radio station 105.5 KNAC in Long Beach Los Angeles at the California Dreams night club in Anaheim.

105.5 KNAC was the loudest & proudest station in the nation & Motorhead played for $1.05 cents. You read that right. We seen Motorhead for one dollar and five cents.

There was absolutely no barriers in between the band and the audience.I was literally 2 feet away.

No other station had the b*lls to play the metal that KNAC did back in 1986 to 1995.

I also seen them 2 more times in 1992 when they opened up for Metallica & Guns N Roses in LA at the Coliseum & then the next week at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Me and my crew loved Metallica in 1985.  Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus.  The hardcore scene tired out for a lot of us that year, so we started listening to metal and rap, RunDMC, Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, Schoolly D.

Was there ever as great a music decade as the 80’s?

    I loved me some 80's & 90's metal scene.

Yes,Thrash metal was popular at least in my eyes.

The last time that I mixed it up in the pit was Slayer,Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus in Oakland at the Fox Theater (2016?)

Gary Holt pulled a double duty that night playing with Exodus & Slayer.

  5. Pat,

I actually want to believe that there was a wound on the left side of the temple (but I just can't)

Because,I believe that a shot came from the South Knoll. That shot more than likely was the throat wound.

BUT,most of the blood and brain matter flew to the left of president Kennedy.

You would think that a shot coming from the Grassy Knoll would leave a hole on the left side in back of the head.

*I say this because...I believe that president Kennedy was looking straight ahead forward and not to the right facing the picket fence.

Punk rockers like me didn’t like Bill Graham.

    <quote on>

Anti-Bill Graham flyer from 1981 distributed after Graham, who had organized a paid Clash show in Berkeley, threatened legal action when the New Youth Organization attempted to put on a "people's" Clash show at a much lower cost. This drew the ire of *Maximumrocknroll* founder Tim Yohannon, who invited Graham to come on air for an interview. His ensuing verbal assault led to Graham storming out in anger. The flyer advertises that appearance on the *Maximumrocknroll* radio show with Graham as an octopus clutching a casket labeled "sixties youth culture" (as well as various music venues). Although Graham was one of rock music's most important and influential promoters, helping the careers of numerous figures through his Fillmore venues and other activities, his business practices were often described as monopolistic. This flyers illustrate that concern, and also demonstrates hardcore punk's break with the hippie movement as clearly as any printed material we've seen.

I went to the Bill Graham Clash show, but missed the renegade Clash show at the Temple Beautiful.  Early 1979.

    Wooooooo!

Spending the night in line at the fence along the Malibu Grand Prix.

General admission first come first serve!

Probably went to 5 DOTG's (moved to LA in 1986)

Including McClelland, whose initial report, and the only report on the assassination he would ever write, claimed the fatal wound was "of the left temple." Right?

    Just seeing this now Pat.

Pat...If McClelland came out and said that he made a mistake because looking at the presidents head appeared to be on McClelland's left side, but actually on president Kennedy's right side.

The other stuff that was changed, was changed by pressure IMHO.

Secret Service Agent Elmer Moore comes to mind among others.

You would think that other Dr's would have mentioned it along with embalmer Robinson saying he filled it with wax.

  8. Oh man,you guys mention the Oakland Coliseum & fail to mention Bill Graham's Day On The Green?

    Shame on you.

I'm only 60,but my first rock concert was 1979 Day On The Green 3 "Monsters of Rock"

    Ted Nugent,AC/DC,Aerosmith & Mahogany Rush.

    Tickets were $12.50.

  9. I read the 1st post and then went straight to the last page.

Does anyone mention where Frazier says that he stood on top of the stairs talking to two people asking what happened? He then looked to his left and seen Oswald walking.Someone said something & then he turned to see who it was and he lost sight of Oswald.

There you have it if Frazier was telling the truth.

I just finished watching it. This is an outstanding production with great archival footage galore with high quality films and photos galore. It is a combination of 2013 AND 2023 video. More commentary to follow; I give it an A-plus.

I'll be the leader and go ahead and remind you to do the right thing. This is not a PPV so,it would be amazing to find this show on your Youtube channel  😉
