  1. Okay.
'Fess up. Which one of you is the culprit?

“A British farm has urged visitors to stop posing naked for photographs in its field of sunflowers.
    https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/sunflowers-naked-visitors-gbr-scli-intl/index.html

“The owners of Stoke Fruit Farm on Hayling Island, off England’s south coast, issued the unusual request on social media, having noticed a growing number of visitors stripping naked to pose for pictures among the blooms.
In a post on Facebook earlier this month, the farm wrote: “Reminder to all we are a family area and please keep your clothes on in the sunflowers! We are having a increase of reports of naked photography taking place and this must not happen during our public sessions please!”

Sam Wilson and sister Nette Petley run the farm that their grandfather set up. It comprises 350 acres, producing wheat, peas, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, sweetcorn, hay – and sunflowers.
Wilson told CNN Friday that there had been about six incidents of people stripping off among the sunflowers since the field opened to visitors at the end of last month.
“We’ve always had people take risque pictures but this is the first year it’s been a problem, which is why we’ve put signs up,” he said.
Wilson added that he and his team decided to put signs up around the farm after “a couple of children saw what was going on.””

“Wilson said: “We went away on honeymoon and then my sister rang and said ‘people want to pick your flowers,’ so we set up an honesty box for visitors.”
Nothing could have prepared them for just how popular the attraction would become, with people traveling large distances to see the flowers in bloom.
Today, paying visitors are invited to wander around a massive area of about 50 acres, covered by two million sunflowers, said Wilson.”

“Although confused commentators have claimed that Howard Brennan was the source, it's well documented that an "unidentified citizen" gave the above description to Inspector Sawyer after he saw someone looking like Oswald running from the Book Depository immediately after the assassination. The citizen did not comply with the sheriff's request to come to the office later to fill out a report, and Hoover said that the "sheriff's office can locate no record on this citizen".

In January, 1964 J.Edgar Hoover wrote to J. Lee Rankin of the Warren Commission, that an the description came from "an unidentified citizen".

Even after the Warren Report was published, Hoover responded in November, 1964 to general counsel J. Lee Rankin's request that according to the Dallas police the information came from an ‘unidentified citizen’.”

I have my own theories about this 5'10" 165lb man with light brown hair, and it's tied up with the Harvey Lee Oswald story; but I won't go into that now.

  3. Whether it was what Hitler did to the Jews, or Stalin did to his own people, or what we did to the American Indian, or the North Vietnamese did, or what Genghis Khan and the Mongol Horde did, what the Persian did to the Greeks and the people of the Near East,

I read a line once that I have always tried to take to heart.

I swear to God I'm going to tape this guy's name to my forehead. I've been calling him Daniel Wayne House for years, and that's wrong. His name was Daniel Wayne Douglas.

The question does arise, Was anyone arrested for Investigation for Murder after LHO was picked up?

Daniel Wayne Douglas was picked up at 2:30. John Elrod was picked up at 2:45, and John Gedney was arrested at 4:00 PM.

I only see arrest Reports for Gedney and Doyle, not for Abrams, and they were arrested for Investigation of Vagrancy and Robbery, although it does say that they were arrested in the vicinity of JFK's assassination.

Any others who were arrested by the Dallas Police?

The 'Good Republicans' whisper in the dark how much they hate Trump. They tell reporters *every* *single* *day* that *they're* not like the base. *They're* 'just trying to steer the ship.' After eight years, how's that working out? Not well, at any level."

It never ends well. Great charismatic figures. Adolph Hitler, David Koresh, Jim Jones...

People go running after them, thinking those figures are going to save them and save the world.

Thanks, Steve, for providing this link to the full-sized (non-truncated) version of the Oswald arrest report being discussed in this thread (also seen below).

One odd thing that I noticed in McDonald's arrest report is the reference to the type of murder that McDonald claimed Oswald was being charged with—"Inv. Murder". I assume the "Inv." means "Involuntary Murder",

  7. This is the Arrest Report that was written up by Officer, M.N. McDonald. The copy that was provided cuts off the  bottom part.

The bottom half lists the names of the arresting officers.

McDonald got the time of arrest wrong..

It's interesting. This copy of that report in the Portal to Texas History also has the word, "DECEASED" stamped on it with the date 11-24-63 and Park. Hosp. written on it, showing that information was added to the Arrest Report at a later time.

    https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth339964/?q=M.N. McDonald

After the arrest, the various officers who were involved in Oswald's arrest and transport back to City Hall all got together in Westbrook's office in Personnel, and jointly wrote up their reports on what they observed, and the actions they took.

I personally would rather have seen them isolated to eliminate any chance of tainting each others' testimony or memories.

Sounds like a stock press release to me.

How many people in the U.S. Army just up and formed their own Reserve Units? What was it's command structure? Who did he report to? Who was on his staff?

Crichton may have been a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, but I have real doubts about his own "Military Intelligence Detachment"

"QAnon gamified these strands. The cryptic missives invited decoding and translation, and were purposefully vague enough that they could be interpreted in any number of ways. Like astrology or tarot cards, Q drops seemed freighted with meaning while lacking any specificity. One could log on, read the latest tea leaves and connect the latest dots, all the while binding oneself further to the web of paranoia. The phenomenon spread widely, roping in not just paranoid conspiracy theorists but puzzle solvers and people looking for community. And because there was so much cryptic messaging embedded in the discourse, it hardly mattered that those few things that might have been verifiable (such as Hillary Clinton being “detained” in October of 2017) were demonstrably false.

It turned out to be a remarkably successful formula;..."

  10. Trump’s Legal Defense Fund Launches With a Big Typo and Bigger Ethical Questions

By Erik Uebelacker Aug. 13, 2023

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-legal-defense-fund-launches-with-a-big-typo-and-bigger-ethical-concerns?ref=home

“Former President Donald Trump’s legal defense fund went live on Sunday and, of course, it contained a glaring typo in the first heading.

“Support Donald Trumps Patriot Legal Defense Fund,” the site proudly declared, apostrophe omission and all (or maybe the fund aims to raise cash for all the Donald Trumps out there).

But perhaps more egregious than the grammatical goof are the legal boundaries that team Trump seems to be pushing with the fund’s overt ties to his 2024 presidential campaign.

The fund technically may not coordinate with the campaign on fundraising, since its existence as a legal defense fund allows it to skirt the Federal Election Commission’s campaign-finance rules. But clicking the “Donate Now” hyperlink sends users directly to Trump’s 2024 campaign website, where viewers are hit up front with donation requests. The only other link on the fund’s page also takes you to the campaign site.”

  13. Trump snarls at having to divert 'vast amounts of money' from his campaign to pay his legal bills

by Tom Boggioni August 12, 2023

    https://www.rawstory.com/trump-legal-fees/

“According to a report from the New York Times, "New financial reports show that the former president’s various political committees and the super PAC backing him have used roughly 30 cents of every dollar spent so far this year on legal-related costs. The total amounts to more than $27 million in legal fees and other investigation-related bills in the first six months of 2023."”
