  3. Lauren Boebert: Venezuela dog eating 'started because they do not have firearms' by David Edwards https://www.rawstory.com/lauren-boebert-dog-eating/ “Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said that a lack of firearms is to blame for the practice of eating dogs in Venezuela. During an interview on Newsmax with host Sebastian Gorka, Boebert recalled how she had confronted Democratic politician Beto O'Rourke after he suggested that assault-style weapons should be banned. "I was compelled to go to him because I saw that a disarmed populace -- if the citizenry in America is disarmed then we are no longer citizens, we are subjects," Boebert said. "You know here in America we have gourmet treats for puppies. We have these amazing groomers for dogs." “In Venezuela, they eat the dogs and it started because they do not have firearms to protect themselves, to defend themselves against a tyrannical government,” she added.” She knows all that stuff. 4. With the furor over the missing Secret Service text messages, I read that the SS used radio instead. So where are the Dispatcher Tapes? We look at the Dallas Police Department's radio Dispatcher's tapes all the time, and we even have Air Force One's tapes from after JFK's assassination, so where are the Secret Service radio tapes from January 5 and 6? Steve Thomas
  5. Kirk, Intelligence Official, Malcom Nance, who has studied insurgencies and uprisings all over the world, said it is his belief that there would have been a massacre. Steve Thomas
  6. The Saudi Golf Tounament has turned into just one long campaign rally for Donald Trump, Spectators sporting shirts bearing pro-Trump slogans in the grandstand behind the first tee erupted into chants of “Four more years!” when the former president emerged in a red “Make America Great Again” cap for the second day of the foreign-funded tournament at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster. pic.twitter.com/6xhrN5MwQM — Taylor Budowich (@TayFromCA) July 30, 2022 Later, Trump was seen raising a fist at the 16th tee watching the action alongside Christian nationalist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who came to the event to applaud the Saudi tournament — and MAGA fanatics. 7. Joe, You will be happy to know that, according to the Wall St. Journal, tickets to his golf tournament were starting at $1.00 at StubHub. (that's one dollar). Steve Thomas
  8. Acting Director of Homeland Security, Chad Wolff and Acting Deputy Director of Homeland Security, Ken Cuccinelli have announced that their texts from around the January 6th time frame have also been deleted. Homeland Security is the one who monitors militias, domestic terrorists, the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys, the 3 Percenters and other hate groups. What did they know, and when did they know it? I predict this is going to get very big. Every bit as big as Nixon's missing 18 minutes of tape recordings. The Head of the Secret Service, Jim Murray has also announced that he is not going to retire at the end of July after all. If he retires, he can't control the flow of information. Steve Thomas
  9. Lawrence O'Donnell had an interesting take on things tonight. If Trump is convicted and sent to jail, it would never work, because he is entitled to round the clock Secret Service protection. That would mean condemning them to prison too. If Trump is sentenced to home confinement with an ankle bracelet, and the lawsuits against him by the Capitol Police and Congressmen succeed, he could lose hundreds of millions of dollars and wind up penniless and have to sell his mansions. Where would he be living? In somebody's basement? It was an interesting take. Steve Thomas
  10. Joe, Or God forbid, greet them with hostility and violence. I just hope some jarhead doesn't start shooting at them. Steve Thomas
  11. W., It looks like Steve Bannon's conviction has opened the floodgates. Stevw Mnuchin, Mick Mulvanery, Mike Pompeo and John Ratcliff are all lined up to testify to the Jan 6th Committee. Maybe it's only about the 25th Amendment, but who knows? Finally. Steve Thomas
  12. Donald Trump appeals decision that he can be held civily liable for his actions and speech on January 6th. Declares he has absolute immunity because he was acting in his official capacity as President. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22122307-document-1-28 Steve Thomas
  13. W., Yes. It lies in the speech he gave at the Ellipse on the morning of the 6th. He was urged several times beforehand not to include language about going to the Capitol. The original draft of the speech did not include this language. Trump adlibbed.and inserted it himself. The White House Counsel, Pat Cippelone, told Mark Meadows, Cassidy Hutcinson to make sure that they didn't go, because if they did, they would open themselves to being charged with "every crime imaginable". The original permit for the rally was only for the Ellipse. Steve Thomas
  14. If Freedom of Speech is so important, why are people attacking libraries? As Maeve Higgins, columnist for The Guardian put it, "Libraries help us to think. That is why they are powerful, and that is why they are under attack. That is also why we must protect them." Fascists don't want you to think. As Marjorie Taylor Greene put it, they want you to conform. Steve Thomas
  15. Who are the little green men working "security" at Trump's events? (not so little) Does Trump have his own brownshirts now? Exclusive: Hired 'goons' assaulted SEIU conference attendees at the same hotel as Trump's speech by Sarah K. Burris 7/26/22 https://www.rawstory.com/trump-security-america-first-confernece/ Footage sent to Raw Story by 26-year-old Mackenzie N. @Kenzington96, who works at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) showed a group of protesters being attacked by a group of men. The protesters were shouting "No Trump! No KKK! No fascist-USA!" and unfurled a banner reading "Indict Trump" on it. "At least two white men in green shirts, beards and man-buns grabbed the "Indict Trump" banner and stormed off while hotel security also ran toward the scene. The videos sent by Mackenzie showed a third man in the Army green shirt with a quasi-military-looking insignia on the left breast of his shirt and an American flag on the left arm. Mackenzie described the men as "hired goons" of Trump's, but SEIU was able to confirm from the hotel that the "security" were actually hired by the America First nonprofit group to run "security" for their event." "The group has been seen previously at Trump events working as "security." Steve Thomas
  16. Jim, On several occasions during Garland's interview with Lester Holt, he said that the focus of the DOJ investigation is the "interference with the peaceful transfer of power". That sort of wraps everything up together in one package - the fake electors, the mob, etc. I look for that to be the charge.in any criminal indictment. Steve Thomas
  17. Why the Jan. 6 commission matters July 26, 2022 07:30 AM By Marc Polymeropoulos https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/patriotism-unity/why-the-jan-6-commission-matters “Of note, it was not al Qaeda or Hezbollah or the Islamic State that attacked Americans in a far-off diplomatic post on Jan. 6. No, it was our fellow Americans who violently stormed the Capitol. Think hard about that. A spontaneous riot? A gathering that got out of hand? Please. These talking points are insulting to those who survived that day. I ran counterterrorism operations for the CIA for several decades. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was a pre-planned domestic terrorist event. It included all elements of a terrorist operation, including training, surveillance, and then the execution of the attack. It was an attack that almost succeeded in killing the vice president of the United States, as well as members of Congress. It was an attack on our democratic system of government. I don't want to hear that this was just a protest that got out of hand. That's BS.” Steve Thomas
  18. Dem blasts 'insane' GOP bill that would authorize 'deadly force' to stop abortions in North Carolina by Brad Reed July 25, 2022 https://www.rawstory.com/north-carolina-abortion-ban/ “A Democratic state senator from North Carolina this week shined a light on a bill proposed by his Republican colleagues that he described as "completely insane" because it would authorize using "deadly force" to stop people in the state from getting abortions. In a video posted on his social media accounts, North Carolina State Sen. Jeff Jackson drew attention to North Carolina House Bill 158, a piece of legislation drafted last year that extends the rights of personhood to fetuses and says that "any person who willfully seeks to destroy the life of another person, by any means, at any stage of life, or succeeds in doing so, shall be held accountable for attempted murder or for first degree murder, respectively." The bill goes on toe say that "any person has the right to defend his or her own life or the life of another person, even by the use of deadly force if necessary, from willful destruction by another person," which implies that any citizen would have the right to kill a doctor performing an abortion or a woman taking an abortion pill. In his video, Jackson comments that the bill makes it legal to "kill a doctor or a nurse or anyone involved" in the process of terminating a pregnancy.” Steve Thomas
  19. Mark, Copies are also sent to the National Archives for this very reason.. Wouldn't they just have used those? That's why the National Archives is a party to the whole fake Elector scheme. Steve Thomas
  20. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Says GOP 'Should Be Christian Nationalists' Party By Nina Golgowski Jul 24, 2022 https://www.huffpost.com/entry/marjorie-taylor-greene-christian-nationalism-republican-party_n_62dd70bde4b081f3a9007344 “The Georgia congresswoman said the Republican Party should conform to Christianity to make it easier to identify with and sway Christian voters. Greene, who is known for her vocal religious beliefs and for imposing them on others, said the Republican Party should conform to Christianity to make it easier to identify with and sway Christian voters. “When Republicans learn to represent most of the people that vote for them, then we will be the party that continues to grow without having to chase down certain identities or chase down certain segments of people,” she said. “We just need to represent Americans and most Americans, no matter how they vote, really care about the same things and I want to see Republicans actually do their job.”” “The first clause in the Bill of Rights, the establishment clause, is widely seen as keeping religion and government separate as a means to prevent government officials from promoting any particular faith. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” it states. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), another conservative firebrand, advocated for abolishing that clause last month, saying “the church is supposed to direct the government” and that she’s “tired of this separation of church and state junk.”” Oh goody! Let’s all go back to being Puritans again! “Conform”. That’s the operative word. For a group of people who scream about “freedom” so much, they sure do seem to love that conforming business. 21. Jim, My wife and I were talking about this very thing last night. The President is not allowed to enter Congress unless he is invited. At that point, he would have been a squatter. Who could have evicted him? The military? The Armed Forces take their orders from him as the Commander-In-Chief. The Sergeant-In-Arms? Not against a mob. The Capitol Police? The Oath Keepers had stashed a cache of weapons outside of DC. There would have been a pitched battle. Would the Mayor of DC or any of the surrounding States activated the National Guards? Trump would probably have nationalized them. Trump would have stayed until Congress re-convened and made him the President. What would have happened if the Democrats had refused to re-convene? Would they have lacked a quorum in a joint session of Congress? Trump would have been in control of two branches of our Government. The third branch, the Supreme Court doesn't have any troops of their own. It would have been a freakin mess. Steve Thomas
  22. W., I'm sorry, but I must correct your spelling mistake. It's Trump and his wallowers. Steve Thomas
  23. Kathy, I'm glad the moderators decided to keep this thread here. If you go to the Education Forum's home page, the JFK Assassination Debate sub-forum has far and away the greatest number of posts - over 330,000 posts. Of these, the Inevitable Result thread has far and away the greatest number of posts - more than 11,000. I know it's not JFK assassination related per se, but I think Joseph McBride struck a nerve when he made his first post. It's symptomatic of the times, I think. Where have we come from in the last 56 years? Steve Thomas
  24. Joe, The Official Twitter statement of the House Republican Party did say that the J6 Committee was all heresy. Steve Thomas
  25. W., I've been a member of this Forum for the better part of 18 years now. I've seen people come, and people go. Some people I agree with, and some people I don't. When I find someone who gets too churlish or boring, I put them on Ignore and go on about my business. This morning, I filed the first complaint against another member in all the time in the 18 years I have been a member of the Forum. He accused the President of the United States of raping children. For me, that goes beyond all boundaries of civility and decorum, and I just couldn't sit by any more. He shouldn't be a member of this or any other public space. Steve Thomas
