  1. On July 25, 2024, Harris said, "Bring it on." Trump backs out of debate as camp says it's 'inappropriate to schedule things with Harris' By Daniel Hampton July 25, 2024 "Donald Trump is reportedly backing out of a scheduled September debate. https://www.rawstory.com/trump-debate-2668817036/ That's according to Sam Stein, of The Bulwark and MSNBC, who wrote on the social media app X on Thursday night that the decision was made, "given the continued political chaos" surrounding Joe Biden and the Democrat Party." "There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party - namely Barack Hussein Obama - that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone 'better.' Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds," the statement said." Coward He knows she would clean his clock. 2. Joseph, Yes. Thank you. I see it now. That's quite a sight-line distraction for the driver of the limousine. I hope they've gotten rid of that since then. Steve Thomas
  3. Kamala Harris drops first TV ad. It's slick and well put together. https://www.thedailybeast.com/kamala-harris-drops-first-ad-with-beyonce-song-and-trump-mugshot?ref=home?ref=home "Let's get to work." Steve Thomas
  4. - Donald Trump, speaking of race car drivers - "I mean, we appreciate talent, I said, let me use these guys to guide our military a little bit," Trump told his rally supporters. "When you can win so many races, that's okay, you know, you guide. Same thing with coaches, you take some of the great football coaches, you put them at the table. 'What do you like, coach?' Because, in its own way, it's not so much really different." "When does he ever discuss the policies he wants to implement?" said Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS). "All you hear is gibberish from him." Steve Thomas
  5. J.D. Vance - "These children are the future of this country and yet the parents who have them actually have no advantage in our democratic process," Vance told the Intercollegiate Studies Institute in July 2021. "They have a smaller voice in some ways — in very many cases — than the people who don't have any children at all. The children who come from these families have no real representative in our democracy. Why don't we change that?" "Now some people will say this is radical and this is crazy," Vance added. "The Democrats are talking about giving the vote to 16-year-olds but let's do this instead: Let's give votes to all children in this country but let's give control over those votes to the parents of those children." Let's breed a whole bunch of kids so that we can get more control. Control that's what it's all about. Steve Thomas

  8. Kamala Harris makes Donald Trump do the one thing he fears most: Get up and get out With Kamala Harris running, Donald Trump needs to actively campaign — and not just in MAGA country By AMANDA MARCOTTE https://www.salon.com/2024/07/24/kamala-harris-makes-donald-do-the-one-thing-he-fears-most-get-up-and-get-out/ "With Harris as the Democratic nominee, however, Trump is caught in a no-win situation. If he continues to hang back from the campaign trail while she's out there hustling, he'll start inviting the questions about whether he's too old and weak, the exact questions that plagued Biden. But if he starts doing more media and events that are outside the MAGA bubble, he will draw negative attention and remind voters why they hate him. In the face of this paradox, Trump's first impulse was to keep pretending Biden is his opponent. As reality sets in, Trump's freaking out. " "Trump's entire strategy was based on the assumption of an opponent who didn't have the energy to fight back. Without that, Trump's in serious trouble." Steve Thomas
  9. “I think there have been some brilliant American women in politics but I don't think Kamala Harris is one of them,” So says Liz Truss, the shortest-serving Prime Minister in Great Britain's history, who would only last for 49 days, and go on to lose her seat in Parliament two years later. Yeah, like I'm going to take my political advice from her. Steve Thomas
  10. - Zachary Carter - https://x.com/zachdcarter/status/1815822866312544683 "Elections are about all kinds of things, but I think a happy person talking about the future fits the moment better than an angry old man yelling about the past," Steve Thomas
  11. Joe Biden's brilliant exit: Democrats get a boost, Republicans left bewildered By Heather Parton https://www.salon.com/2024/07/22/joe-bidens-brilliant-exit-democrats-get-a-boost-left-bewildered/ "It seems that they (the Republican Party) may not have anticipated that Joe Biden gracefully withdrawing from the race might be seen as an act of selfless patriotism in contrast to their leader Donald Trump, the grasping egomaniac who incited a riot rather than admit that he lost. The contrast couldn't be more vivid" Steve Thomas
  12. - Comedian, Lamorne Morris - “Trump is very worried because Kamala’s a lawyer,” Morris noted. “He’s only lost to Joe Biden once, but he loses to lawyers like twice a week.” Steve Thomas
  13. Republicans believe in abortion. They're about to abort J.D. Vance. Steve Thomas
  14. - Donald Trump, talking about his new opponent in the race - ( Kamala Harris) "has absolutely terrible pole numbers against a fine and brilliant young man named DONALD J. TRUMP!" "Be careful what you wish for, Democrats??? MAGA2024," I wonder what "pole" numbers the "young and brilliant" Mango Man is talking about. Stripper poles? North Poles ? One other thing Trump wrote is, "They also mislead the Republican Party, causing it to waste a great deal of time and money." He's complained about this several times now, even going so far as saying the Democratic Party should reimburse him . He'll probably wind up suing Joe Biden for dropping out of the race. Steve Thomas
  15. The magical, mysterious maxi-pad. Have you noticed that the magical, mysterious, maxi-pad bandage has disappeared from Donald Trump's right ear the minute he got nominated? It's a miracle Steve Thomas
  16. Nikki Haley, January, 2024 - “The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election.” Steve Thomas
  17. Trump aide, Jeff Miller has also cited the straw thing as the most important issue of the day. The Republicans are literally grasping at straws. Steve Thomas
  18. W., He did this so he could take a tax write-off. It reminded me of when I was living in PA. We had a county commissioner who owned a lumber yard. He put up an alter on the property and had his lumber yard declared as a church, so he could take the tax write-off. Steve Thomas
  19. I know why Donald Trump picked J.D. Vance as his running mate. It's because they share the first two letters in their names. D.J. Trump J.D. Vance It's as simple as that. Trump being such a deep thinker and all. Steve Thomas
  20. -J.D. Vance - "This is one of the great tricks that I think the sexual revolution pulled on the American populace, which is the idea that like, ‘well, OK, these marriages were fundamentally, you know, they were maybe even violent, but certainly they were unhappy. And so getting rid of them and making it easier for people to shift spouses like they change their underwear, that’s going to make people happier in the long term,’” Vance said. “And maybe it worked out for the moms and dads, though I’m skeptical. But it really didn’t work out for the kids of those marriages,” Steve Thomas
  21. July 20 55 years ago today, on July 20, 1969, men landed on the moon. Steve Thomas
  22. Mainstream Republican Conservatives have been horrified at what they saw at the Convention this week. They were bombarded by vendors selling cheap Donald Trump trinkets and merchandise combined with a religious revival tent meeting. There were no elder statements there. There was no Mitt Romney, or George Bush, or Mike Pence. They were replaced by Don and Eric Trump and Kimberley Guilfoyle and Hulk Hogan. The Republican Party of Dwight D. Eisenhower was replaced by Donald Trump, Jr. screaming at the 17 year old boys to, "Stay the hell away from my daughter!" To me, that epiomizes everything about this last week. Steve Thomas
  23. The startling MAGAfication of Matt Gaetz and Kimberly Guilfoyle. (Daily Mail) https://www.rawstory.com/matt-gaetz-2668780731/ Before the Convention compared to at the Convention. Photo comparison. Steve Thomas
  24. Mary Trump, writing about the RNC speakers - “"Ultimate Fighting Champion founder Dana White will be introducing Donald," she wrote. "This, just a year after White apologized when video leaked of him punching his wife in the head repeatedly.” also speaking are Hulk Hogan, the former wrestling star outed using racial slurs; Peter Navarro, who was applauded after getting out of prison Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who remains under congressional investigation for sex trafficking, drug use, and a manner of other offenses. Steve Thomas
