  4. Monero emerges as crypto of choice for cybercriminals Untraceable "privacy coin" is rising in popularity among ransomware gangs. by Hannah Murphy, Financial Times – 6/22/2021 https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2021/06/monero-emerges-as-crypto-of-choice-for-cybercriminals/?utm_source=digg “For cybercriminals looking to launder illicit gains, bitcoin has long been the payment method of choice. But another cryptocurrency is coming to the fore, promising to help make dirty money disappear without a trace. While bitcoin leaves a visible trail of transactions on its underlying blockchain, the niche “privacy coin” monero was designed to obscure the sender and receiver, as well as the amount exchanged.” Steve Thomas

  7. State university faculty, students to be surveyed on beliefs “Gov. Ron DeSantis suggested that budget cuts could be looming if universities and colleges are found to be “indoctrinating” students.” By Ana Ceballos 06/23/21 https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2021/06/22/state-university-faculty-students-to-be-surveyed-on-beliefs/# TALLAHASSEE — “In his continued push against the “indoctrination” of students, Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday signed legislation that will require public universities and colleges to survey students, faculty and staff about their beliefs and viewpoints to support “intellectual diversity.” The survey will discern “the extent to which competing ideas and perspectives are presented” in public universities and colleges, and seeks to find whether students, faculty and staff “feel free to express beliefs and viewpoints on campus and in the classroom,” according to the bill. The measure, which goes into effect July 1, does not specify what will be done with the survey results. But DeSantis and Sen. Ray Rodrigues, the sponsor of the bill, suggested on Tuesday that budget cuts could be looming if universities and colleges are found to be “indoctrinating” students.” Shades of Mao Tse-Tung Steve Thomas
  8. You know, it never occurred to me before; but I don't think that there are any affidavits from these Sheriff's Deputies in the Dallas Police Department Archives. There are Sheriff's Reports, but no formal reports from the Dallas City Police Department that they were interviewed as material witnesses. I wonder why. Steve Thomas
  9. This man is an idiot. How could America have elected him as their President in the first place? Can we go back and impeach someone retroactively for just being completely stupid? Trump issues unhinged new statement about 'winning' Georgia -- and gets quickly shot down by fact checker by Brad Reed June 22, 2021 https://www.rawstory.com/trump-georgia-2653492637/ “Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued yet another statement falsely claiming to have won the 2020 presidential election in Georgia -- but a fact checker for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution quickly shot down his false claims. In his statement, Trump praised Georgia officials for removing over 100,000 names from their voter rolls -- but then demanded to know why those names weren't removed before the last election, which he narrowly lost to President Joe Biden. "WHAT ABOUT THE LAST ELECTION?" Trump demanded. "WHY WASN'T THIS DONE PRIOR TO THE NOVEMBER 3RD PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, where they had us losing by a very small number of votes, many times less than the 101,789 figure?" Trump then falsely asserted that "this means we (you!) won the Presidential Election in Georgia." However, Atlanta Journal Constitution reporter Mark Niesse explained that Trump's claims have zero basis in reality. "Exactly 0 registered Georgia voters who may be canceled voted in last year's election," he explained. "Voters aren't purged until they miss 2 general elections. Federal law bans list maintenance within 90 days of federal elections."” Steve Thomas
  10. All I know is that the people who identified the rifle as a Mauser were all Sheriff's Deputies; Eugene Boone, Seymour Weitizman, Roger Craig. Once the Dallas City Police Department personnel arrived on the scene, the County Sheriff Department Deputies were told to leave and go back to work, and the Mauser became a Carcano. Steve Thomas
  11. John, We don't know how much time elapsed between the time the limo passed him, and the time he turned to go back to the courthouse. He may have stood around the corner for a while watching other cars in the motorcade, or just sitting around jawing with the other deputy he was with, Bill Hutton. He told the WC that, "I immediately ran toward the President's car. Of course, it was speeding away...". The car wasn't speeding anywhere while it was still on Houston. A question for me is, was Seymour Weitzman the Deputy Sheriff who was with DPD Office Joe Marshal Smith when Smith encountered a Secret Service Agent behind the Grassy Knoll? DPD Officer, Joe Marshal Smith: Smith told the Warren Commission that, “Of course, I wasn't alone. There was some deputy sheriff with me, and I believe one Secret Service man when I got there. Smith told author Anthony Summers that he had. As he said to Summers, “The man, this character produced credentials from his hip pocket which showed him to be Secret Service. I have seen those credentials before, and they satisfied me and the deputy sheriff.” Deputy Weitzman told Warren Commission Counsel Joseph Ball that at the time of the assassination, he was standing at the corner of Main And Houston Sts. At the sound of the shots, he immediately ran into Dealey Plaza and scaled the wall that runs between the railroad tracks and the Elm St. Extension. Counsel Ball asked him if he noticed anything in the railroad yards. Weitzman answered, “We noticed numerous kinds of footprints that did not make sense because they were going different directions”. Mr. Ball asked if there were other people there. Weitzman replied, “Yes, sir; other officers, Secret Service as well..." Steve Thomas

  18. Benjamin, For me, the strongest argument for two shooters has always been the number of shots that missed, not the number of shots that hit. If more than one shot missed, you have at least four shots, which is too many for one gun in the time allotted. Mrs. BAKER. Well, after he passed us, then we heard a noise and I thought it was firecrackers, because I saw a shot or something hit the pavement. Mrs. BAKER. No; I couldn't see the sign because I was angled--we were stepping out in the street then and it was approximately along in here, I presume, the first sign--I don't know which one it is, but I saw the bullet hit on down this way, I guess, right at the sign, angling out. Mr. LIEBELER. You think the bullet hit the street, only it was farther out in the street? Mrs. BAKER. Yes. Mr. LIEBELER. Even though you couldn't see the sign, you could see this thing hit the street near the sign? Mrs. BAKER. Yes, sir. Mrs. BAKER. This was a big sign here and there was a small one here. Mr. LIEBELER. And you think that it was approximately near the first sign? Mrs. BAKER. As I can remember, it was. Mrs. BAKER. It was approximately in the middle of the lane I couldn't be quite sure, but I thought it was in the middle or somewhere along in there could even be wrong about that but I could have sworn it that day. Mr. LIEBELER. You thought it was sort of toward the middle of the lane? Mrs. BAKER. Toward the middle of the lane. Mr. LIEBELER. Of the left-hand lane going toward the underpass; is that correct? Mrs. BAKER. Yes. Mr. LIEBELER. Where was the thing that you saw hit the street in relation to the President's car? I mean, was it in front of the car, behind his car, by the side of his car or was it close to the car? Mrs. BAKER. I thought it was--well--behind it. Mr. LIEBELER. Had the car already gone by when you saw this thing hit in the street? Mrs. BAKER. Yes. Richard Carr: They came from the -- from where I was standing at the new courthouse, they came from in this direction here, behind this picket fence, and one knocked a bunch of grass up along in this area here (indicating), this area here is flat, looking at it from here, but the actual way it is, it is on a slope up this way and you could tell from the way it knocked it up that the bullet came from this direction (indicating). FURTHER RECROSS EXAMINATION BY MR. DYMOND: Q: Just a couple of questions. Mr. Carr, is it your testimony that you saw this bullet furrowing through the grass? A: I saw the grass come up. Q: You saw the grass come up? A: Yes. Mr. TAGUE And I ducked behind the post when I realized somebody was shooting after the third shot. After the third shot, I ducked behind the bridge abutment... And I says, "Well, you know now, I recall something sting me on the face while I was standing down there." And the patrolman said, "Well, I saw something fly off back on the street." And he said, "Where were you standing?" And I says, "Right down here." We walked 15 feet away when this deputy sheriff said, "Look here on the curb." There was a mark quite obviously that was a bullet, and it was very fresh. From David Joseph in The Education Forum 2/4/2019 https://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/25494-trying-to-understand-this-bronson-frame/page/8/?tab=comments#comment-393747 "Royce Skelton (on top of the triple overpass), December 17, 1963: “Mr. Skelton noticed that as an open limousine turned on Elm Street, it had moved approximately one hundred feet at which time he noticed dust spray up from the street in front of the car on the driver’s side. This dust spray came from the direction of the Texas School Book Depository building.” [FBI report: CD205] Austin Miller (on top of the triple overpass), December 18, 1963: “He heard three shots and also noticed a powder dust spray in the street directly to the driver’s side and rear of the car.” [FBI report: CD205]" From Bill Simpich in the Education Forum 12/31/20 https://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/26874-the-wallet-at-the-tippit-scene-a-simpler-solution/ "Patrolman J. W. Foster told the WC he saw a bullet strike the turf right alongside the concrete by a manhole cover - there is supposed to be an arrow pointing to the mark, according to the transcript. (Can you see any mark - I can't?) Also see Mark Oakes' video, start it at 2:00 with Patrolman Foster's statement, and the location as reported in the 11/23/63 Fort Worth Star-Telegram at 4:35 (also see Jim Marrs, Crossfire, p. 315) - but the Warren Commission refused to believe it. On 11/22/63, while serving on jury duty, Edna Hartman and her husband Wallace saw two parallel holes while standing near a manhole cover. She and her husband went back on Sunday the 24th, but the grass was trampled over and they could not find the holes again. Her report was taken months later, 8/10/64, by two FBI officers - one was Robert Barrett! The Hartmans had been downtown for jury duty, and responded late in response to a public appeal. Edna Hartman told Jim Marrs that a policeman on the scene told her the shots came from the grassy knoll. She asked the cop if the two parallel marks she was looking at were gopher holes, and the policeman said, "no ma'am, that's where the bullets struck the ground." (Marrs, Crossfire, pp. 315-316). Cameraman Harry Cabluck photographed the scene and saw more than one gouge on the ground. He was told the gouges were formed by a bullet (or bullets?). He took his photos hours later and never saw a slug. (Marrs, at 315; also see Sprague who documents the Cabluck photos) Cabluck is still alive. Robert Groden never got access to the early generation Cabluck photos. But Barrett's report quotes them as saying the shots came from the TSBD, not the grassy knoll, and that a "bystander" - not a policeman - supported that view." Steve Thomas

"I guess they better arm up and get guns and be ready — and maybe they're going to have to start taking matters into their own hands."” And to think that, up until recently, this woman was running for U.S. Senator from North Carolina. 21. Chuck, Because of his outspoken opposition to DeGaulle, in the Nov - Dec, 1960 timeframe, Souetre was presented with a choice: either accept a transfer from Algeria back to France, or face arrest. He took the transfer, but in January, 1961 deserted from the Air Force and established a "Maquis" or French/Algerian Underground in Oran, Algeria. (Souetre deserted in January, 1961. Went to the farm of Robert Martel.) I'll give you this link, but I think it's broken now: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.piedsnoirs-aujourdhui.com/histoir73.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3DOAS%2Bprison%2Bde%2BBarberousse%26start%3D10%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1600%26bih%3D736 "February 15, 1961 in Oran, near Mostaganem, about 80 km north-east of Oran, a first maquis "French Algeria" is established by two senior officers: its founder is Count Andrew Bush Montpeyroux, reserve captain in the (severely wounded honor of the 2nd World War 2 Military Cross, Military Medal, Legion, ex Corps Francs and those of the Resistance) head of SAS in 1957. Over the evening hours of February21 - February 22, 1961 Souetre, Bruce de Montpeyroux, three sergeants and five civilians were arrested at Bouguirat in Mostaganem. On December 17, 1961 all the members of the Maquis were put on trial. Here is a link to the newspaper article I referenced, but that link is now broken too: http://adimad.info/galerie/MAQUISBOURGUIRAT/Maquis_Sou_tre_2 Of the names I cross-referenced, I only found one who had both been at the trial in December, 1961 and who was also listed as one of the escapees from the prison camp in February, 1962. That was Albert LeFevre. 22. Chris, I kind of doubt it, or at least it's pretty difficult. I once tried (with the help of Denis Morissette). to obtain the list of prisoners who were on trial in December, 1961 with Jean-Rene Souetre from the French equivalent of our National Archives. I was told that it was classified. You have to place your request in French. They don't accept requests in English. I was trying to cross reference that list of names with the list of people who escaped with him from the French prison camp in February, 1962. I later found the trial list in a newspaper article.
