  1. Tracy, according to Jane Roman CIA's counterintelligence had a "keen operational interest" in Oswald. That's why the Mexico City station only got an incomplete file. The whole part about Oswald's supposedly pro-Castro activities in New Orleans had been left out - deliberately. And when the CIA learn about Oswald's meeting with Kostikov "they drop the ball", according to you. And you think there's nothing suspicious at all going on here? When we know that the CIA and the FBI were running an anti-FPCC operation right at that time? When so much evidence was either withheld or destroyed?
  2. Tracy, let's say you're right. So they find out he's visited the Soviet Embassy and met with a KGB assassin. How do you explain that they suddenly lose interest in him when he gets a job near the motorcade route and rents a room under a false name? When they knew from George de Mohrenschild that Oswald had been involved in the Walker shooting? And by the way: it would've been much easier for the Mexico City Station to "find out what Oswald was up to" had they gotten a complete file from headquarters. But we know from Jane Roman that a major part was deliberately held back... How do you explain that?
  3. My apartment is stuffed full to the brim with paper books, that's why I prefer ebooks whenever possible. But that book is definitely on my wish list, together with Maurice Phillips From Dallas to Montreal. The whole Permindex angle is very interesting. Is there a link between Permindex and Propaganda Due?
  4. Good question, I guess we'll never know. It could've been a plot to smear the FPCC, to identify Pro-Castro sympathizers or an attempt to get Oswald into Cuba by creating false Pro-Cuban credentials. In any case, what Oswald did in New Orleans was clearly harmful to the FPCC. And they had warned him NOT to do it. Yet he went ahead and did it anyway. In fact the radio debate was the last nail in the FPCC's coffin. Oswald was the EXACT opposite of a clandestine Communist subversive. He was clearly an agent provocateur in my opinion. That would explain why he never got into any serious trouble before the assassination. What did Walter Moore say to George deMohrenschild? "Don't worry about Oswald. He's harmless".
  5. We already know that the DRE "took a look at Oswald to see what he was up to". So that's not a big secret actually, especially in comparison to other really big secrets that were eventually unveiled, such as Iran/Contra, MK/Ultra or the CIA/Mafia plots against Castro. No, I think what the CIA is hiding has to be something much more sinister. For instance, have you never wondered why Oswald falsely claimed to be a student of Tulane University? And why some of his FPCC leaflets ended up there? He was in cahoots with Banister, there's no doubt. Several witnesses interviewed by Summers saw him in Banister's office. I think that's what we would find in the Joannides files, if they still exist.
  6. Does anyone know where I might find a high-resolution version of the entire photo?
  7. That's right, but they went very far in the Kennedy case. What they did to the HSCA was blatant obstruction of justice. Do you really think that mere incompetence is a sufficient explanation? My guess is that they suspected the involvement of some of their own men. That would've been reason to sabotage the HSCA.
  8. You're welcome, Tracy. Concerning Mrs Hyde: No, I don't think she was a full-time spy. But she may have come into contact with the CIA more than once. Remember that she appeared to be very familiar with Moscow. I guess if she visited Iron Curtain countries frequently, she may have established a regular connection to the agency, without being on their payroll officially. We know that George de Mohrenschild had a similar relationship to the CIA, so that may not have been uncommon. So it appears all the more suspicious that the CIA maintains they never questioned Oswald when he returned. He'd lived in Russia for more than two years, he certainly had more valuable information to offer than any tourist.
  9. Tracy, what exactly can be put to bed in your opinion? Ruth Paine and Marie Hyde can't be the same person as Lance has shown, that "can be put to bed", yes. But that doesn't mean that Raman was lying about the Oswald encounter in Moscow. Why would she? I can see no reason. I'm sure there's a kernel of truth in her story. Maybe she met a different American in Moscow and she conflated these memories. Maybe she met Robert Webster in Moscow, who knows... But when the CIA picked Oswald's photo they certainly betrayed an interest in him. And some pages later Summers cites testimony that Oswald was indeed debriefed when he returned to the USA, a fact the CIA has always denied.
  10. Yes, I noticed that too. Ruth Hyde Paine had a peculiar interest in Russian Culture. Do we know if she ever traveled to the USSR? I also remember reading on a different thread here, that she was interested in Oswald years before she ever met him.
  11. The source is "Not in Your Lifetime", chapter "An Intelligence Matter". He interviewed the other two travelers, two women named Rita Naman and Monica Kramer. However, Summers was not able to trace the mysterious Ms Hyde. According to Summers Hyde also took a photograph of Oswald - at HER initiative - that ended up in the possession of the CIA when they debriefed the women after their return to America.
  12. According to Anthony Summers Maria Hyde was an American tourist who met Oswald on two different occasions in Russia, in Moscow and in Minsk. She was traveling with two other women, whom Summers interviewed. They told him that they'd met Hyde in Moscow and that she appeared to know Russia very well. Does anyone have more detailed information on Ms Hyde?

  14. Ray, the point I was trying to make is that the western media are quick to suspect conspiracies when assassinations happen in foreign countries, but when they happen here they're pinned on "lone nuts". I was not trying the defend the Saudi government... but have you listened to those tapes? Are they genuine? Why would the killers record the murder and then make the recordings public?
  15. That's because you put all "Cters" in the same basket. Think of Robert Blakey. He even believes in the single bullet theory and yet he's convinced that the Mafia was behind the assassination.
  16. Well, maybe it's just a weird coincidence that Mr Kashoggi suddenly disappeared after he left the Saudi embassy in Istnabul. There's no evidence AT ALL that he was harmed in any way, apart from unfounded allegations. Not even his BODY has been found. And yet Saudi Arabia is being accused of state terrorism. Certainly some conspiratorial minds are at work here... right? Video footage that shows people entering and leaving an embassy... what does that prove? Nothing. Mr Kashoggi could be enjoying a sun bath in Rio, Tahiti or Australia for all we know. If an American Journalist had disappeared after entering a US embassy, allegations of "foul play" would certainly be branded "conspiracy theories".
  17. You should've said: "The mountain suggesting Oswald was involved in the assassination." Even if Oswald really was the only shooter (which is VERY doubtful in my opinion) we can never rule out the possibility that he acted at the behest of others. In fact, considering that Oswald had a very positive view of Kennedy and no other discernible motive, that's the most likely explanation. The Walker shooting shows how easily Oswald could be instigated to carry out an act of violence. And here again, we have evidence that several unidentified men fled the crime scene...
  18. Sandy, I'm talking about this shadow ABOVE his eyebrow, https://kennedy-mord.lima-city.de/Bilder/Morales2.jpg It can be seen in other photos, too: http://content.invisioncic.com/r16296/monthly_2017_05/narbe.thumb.jpg.0903a588410b038059b764a01de0675c.jpg
  19. Right. The question is: What did they do with this information? They certainly did not pass it on to the FBI, who took Oswald off their watch list only weeks later...
  20. I searched an online archive for articles about the curtain rods story in Texas newspapers. This is the result I got: https://newspaperarchive.com/tags/oswald/?psi=94&pci=7&ndt=by&py=1963&pey=1963&pep=curtain-rods&ob=1/ So Yates could not have learned it from the newpaper. That adds weight to his credibility in my opinion. Update: The term "package" turned up results: https://newspaperarchive.com/tags/oswald/?psi=94&pci=7&ndt=by&py=1963&pey=1963&pep=package&ob=1/
  21. When Yates told his story to the police, could he have learned about Oswald's testimony concerning the curtain rods? Did the newspapers report anything? If yes Yates and Dempsey could've made up the story... if no, they appear highly credible.
