    Pete Mellor -

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, Pete.

Many years ago, when the McFarland's were back in Liverpool, I contacted Dr.McFarland. However, his written response (via what I presume was his secretary) was along the lines that he (and his wife?) had told the authorities all he/they knew, and he/they did not want to discuss the case further with anyone. I still have his reply "filed" safely somewhere, and if I can find it I'll send a copy to you, but I'm sad to report that it added nothing whatsoever to what we already knew.

That's brilliant Chris and interesting.  Not just McFarland speak no evil, but according to Greg Parker the Aussie girls Winston & Mumford kept clammed up as well.  You can just hear the Feebees "we strongly advise you DO NOT speak to anyone of this!"

Complete bull crap and I will be reviewing an excellent book that, quite predictably, no one knows about.

There was no "affair" with either JFK or RFK, and no utterly ridiculous abortion. Only the MSM would carry such a story.  You know the Daily Beast, home of Max Holland and the KGB disinfo stories?

And there was no press conference either.

I am communicating with the writer of the book almost every day to get everything right.  He spent about 3 years writing it. And he actually read these crazy, insane books by people like Donald Wolfe and Heymann which  Lifton deferred to..

Its amazing the research he did that no one else did.

Just by coincidence one of the U.K. tv channels had a programme on Monroe's death just the other evening.  Look forward to your review James.  The programme had it as another 'case closed' with RFK's two visits & him sending in the doctor with a fatal injection, witnessed by an L.A. cop + even Lawford later pointing the finger at the Kennedys.

  3. Greg Parker's post on D.P.U.K.'s FB page referencing this thread:-

Amazing how both sides of the "debate" are avoiding directly answering each other.

They are all stuck in the same LN/CT tar-pit.

Lance makes some good points while still assiduously missing the target.

So why are these points being avoided like... oh I don't know, some sort of pandemic that needs social distancing?

On the CT side, the CIA is not allowed to run operations internally. That should be enough to set off alarm bells right there. But does it? Of course not.

As I have pointed out in the past, Jack Cason had been a former Commander of the American Legion, Post #53 in Dallas. http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/viewer/showDoc.do…

As I have also pointed out, both Roy Truly and his long-time side-kick Bill Shelley, worked in defense plants during WWII. Truly testified that he work for North American Aviation.

    Mr. BELIN. And then what?
Mr. TRULY. I worked on through that time until the present time. During the war I worked in the North American plant at Arlington.
Mr. BELIN. That is the North American Aviation?
Mr. TRULY. North American Aviation plant at Arlington, for around 14 months, at night. But I continued to hold my job.
Well, I would go down to work 2, 3, 4 hours a day. Shortly after that, I took charge of all the shipping.
Well, I have been superintendent of the operation since some time in the late 1944.

Shelley did not name which facility he worked at but North American Aviation seems a safe assumption since Shelley ended up working at the TSBD after the war and both were very much into show dogs.

So you have a director who had been a long time Commander of a local American Legion Post and another director and a section manager who had both worked in a defense plant.

What's the big deal about that?

    The FBI.

The FBI Plant Informant Program ran from 1940 to 1969. In 1942, this program had nearly 24,000 confidential informants in nearly 4000 defense plants.

The American Legion Contact Program ran from 1940 to 1954. This program used Legion members as confidential sources. But even after it closed the program, FBI Field Offices were instructed to maintain contact with Legion Officials. Background checks were conducted on such sources.

You can read more about both programs here https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html…

It seems a safe assumption that both Truly and Shelley had been involved in the FBI Plant Informant program and that Cason had been involved in the Legion Contact Program - and it follows that a close working relationship with the FBI continued between all players and the company they worked for.

Given that the FBI did background checks on potential informants in these type programs, the Glaze letter stating that two female employees were questioned by the FBI during the process of applying to work for the company may well be within the bounds of possibility.

Shelley claiming to be CIA on the other hand was nothing but braggadocio to impress a gullible cub reporter. He had very likely though, been an FBI informant during the war - along with Truly and Cason - and they and the company simply maintained ties to the FBI, bringing the TSBD into the fold of places housing "confidential informants".

The CIA angle is garbage - and therefore, so far as the piece on Kennedy and King goes - it is a matter of garbage in - garbage out.

The only question is, can either side at the 13" Head Forum bring themselves to admit they were ALL wrong?

    I won't hold my breath.

Well, we do have Mumford's testimony... Nothing I've seen from Pat Winston (and Greg is also in Australia)....

We do have the McFarland affidavit....  but as you said... all FBI while the FBI was covering for the FBI and Oswald being linked.
There is a Flecha Rojas bus manifest which leaves Monterrey for Mexico City after arriving from Nuevo Laredo...  The Aussie girls had gotten off in Monterrey and it is claimed they took the same bus as Oswald/Bowen/McFarland.  The manifest only lists passengers embarking from Monterrey...

I am convinced that like BLEDSOE and WHALEY, these people were given what was needed to be said.

I think so too, in fact it seems to me that Albert Osborne was the only one talking straight.  & why those reports quoting Bowen, when the Feds knew that was the alias of Osborne?  Add Phillips & Goodpasture in M.C. to the mix & we have a big bowl of spaghetti!   I already had the McFarland obit, but cheers!

No problem D.J.  It's why I love this Forum, so many great researchers here.  I know this isn't the thread, but on the subject of M.C.  I have been working with John Kowalski doing research on Albert Osborne in the U.K. which has got me into looking at the supposed bus trip.  Do you know of anyone making contact (other than FBI) with those fellow travellers i.e.Mumford, Winston or McFarlands?  Mumford i.d. an Oswald to Warren, but they couldn't sync which bus they were on!!

I spoke with Greg Parker on FB & he said Mumford & Winston would never speak, he intimated they were spooky, also he intimated that McFarland's work at University of Mississippi was of a secret nature.  Have you covered anything on these lines?

Thanks for pointing that out.  I misread what was said in the doc.  After doing a google search, I dimissed this thinking Zguritza was in northern Russian.  I couldn't make the connection to the Black Sea area and Zgurita, Moldova.  I would guess that Marina's step-father would have been assigned to that area in Moldova as part of this duties.  Further reading says that they returned to Leningrad (St. Petersburg).  There is roughly 1200 miles between Arkhangelsk and Zgurita, Moldavia.

Yeah John, I too thought my post was a bit crazy after sticking it on here, Zgurita being so far from Severodvinsk.  I did more Wiki surfing today around White Sea area but drew a blank too.

I find this thread very interesting, always considered John Armstrong's research fascinating.  With over 80 pages here I'll be some time to catch up!

Marina was born in Severodvinsk, Russia in July, 1941.  This is before the US entered WWII.  Severodvinsk is a port city on the White Sea, a part of the Artic Ocean,  in Artic Siberia  about 495 miles from St. Petersburg.  Then, as an infant moved to Arkhangelsk which is further to the south but still about 450 miles north of St. Petersburg.  This is Artic Siberia.  No wonder she did not want to return to someplace like this in Russia.

WWII action with the Germans missed this area except for convoys.  Wikipedia has this to say:

"The Arctic convoys of World War II were oceangoing convoys which sailed from the United Kingdom, Iceland, and North America to northern ports in the Soviet Union – primarily Arkhangelsk (Archangel) and Murmansk in Russia. There were 78 convoys between August 1941 and May 1945,[1] sailing via several seas of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, with two gaps with no sailings between July and September 1942, and March and November 1943."

Arkhagelsk is not a port, but Severodvinsk is.

    severovinsk-russia-to-st-petersburg-493-

Looking at the info generated a random thought.  Could the US be involved with spying in this area once Lend Lease convoys began voyaging to the port of Sevrodvinsk and others.  I would suppose so, but this doesn't mean their was contact between the OSS and Marina's family.  Just a far-fetched could be.

Of the 23 relatives of Marina only a few are male.  It could be there were others who vanished into the Russian Western Front against the Germans.

Marina, prior to 1952 is alleged to have went to school for 4 years at Zguritza, Russia before moving to Leningrad (St. Petersburg).  Google Earth can't find Zguritza.  A google search can't find it either.  That's a bit strange.  She goes to an indentified area for 4 years of schooling at age 7 to 11 years.  Spy school for young girls?

In Romanian it is called Zguritza. This was a Jewish settlement in northern Bessarabia, located 20 km from the capital Soroka. It was established in 1853 on leased agricultural land.

  8. Leaving aside the delightful Judyth and her love affair with Lee/Harvey/Henry/O.H. the comment from Rose Cheramie that Ossie & Ruby were 'bedfellows' is interesting.  Oswald had early contact with Ferrie in the Civil Air Patrol, and were Ferrie's orgies with C.A.P. members once investigated by the cops?  In 63 Oswald is around Ferrie and Clay Shaw, both confirmed homosexuals.  Ruby shares his apartment with George Senator in Oak Cliff who Seth Kantor describes as once married but who preferred male company.  If I recall correctly some fellow Marines thought Oswald somewhat limp wristed too.

With JVB's Mills & Boon tale and his marriage to Marina....did the accused assassin swing it both ways?

    P. Mellor, in your reading of Griggs work and hearing him speak and perhaps through your own reading and research, do you have a general sense of the political, racial and even corruption make up of any number of members of the Dallas Police Department back in 1963?

    How bad was it?

I know other researchers have written about this subject but since you mentioned Griggs and his focus on at least some aspects of the DPD at that time including interviewing former officers, I am hoping you have some thoughts on this?

Did any of the officers Griggs interviewed give up anything remotely intriguingly suspicious about the assassination itself, the political and racial make up of their own organization, feelings toward JFK, Jack Ruby etc, including the security measures taken in transferring Oswald which resulted in the worst case scenario possible?

My feel from my limited reading is that Dallas's Police and even Sheriff's department was rife with a stark racism and alignments with the most extreme far right political organizations such as the John Birch Society, Minutemen even the KKK.

In this context, a large number of these department members must have viewed JFK as the worst kind of mortal enemy...a Ni**er Lover AND a Commie!

And we know that many big city police departments all across the country before and up to 1963 had huge rates of internal corruption. Of course Dallas had it's share of this ( Jack Ruby's DPD connections alone are worth a small book ) and their own Mafia head Joe Campisi seems to have had no major problems with the police for decades in keeping his operation going there.

And lastly, are you of the view that Jack Ruby was provided some access assistance into the Dallas PD building the morning of 11,24,1963?

And do you have any thoughts on Dallas DA Henry Wade regards all the points I listed concerning the DPD?

I don't think one can logically separate these issues from and say they have no bearing in the larger context of the JFK assassination occurring specifically in Dallas at that time.

    Thanks for your response.

Lots of points here Joe!  Let me say Ian Griggs was a U.K. uniform & C.I.D. police officer.  He not only attended Lancer, but also ASK, COPA & 4th Decade.  He knew the structure & quite a bit of the history of the DPD.  His interviews of assassination related personnel included Bobby Hargis, Jim Leavelle, Chuck Brehm, Jean Hill, Ed Hoffman, Bill Newman, Aubrey Rike, Johnny Calvin Brewer...the list goes on and on.  His Lancer presentation in 2013 was 'Jack Ruby & the DPD'.  Your question " are you of the view that Jack Ruby was provided some access assistance into the Dallas PD building the morning of 11,24,1963?  After his presentation Ian was asked this very question.  Ian stated that without solid evidence nobody knows, but he did think that the scene was one of chaos.  As it was all weekend with not just the press all over the building but Ruby too.  To misquote Hamlet, there was certainly something rotten in the state of Texas.

As for my own views, I'm probably like yourself, a long time avid book reader on the case.  The DPD in the 60's, just like in the U.K., had police corruption, maybe not the cop on the beat, but amongst the higher ups.  I'm sure the DPD reflected the wider populous in regard to political and racial affiliations.

Finally my thoughts on Henry Wade concur with other posts on this forum.  It is well known he did not have great regard for solid investigations of crimes, his aim was a guilty verdict.

  10. With all his g'zillions of fans, if [Dylan] had spoken up early, worlds could have turned upside down.

Oh yeah, if Zimmy came out with a Murder Most Foul in the 1960's maybe HIS world could have turned upside down!  With Hoover and Cointelpro + LBJ & Operation Chaos Bobby may well have experienced the kind of hassle meted out to Lennon in the '70's & we know what happened there!

  11. Having read through this thread,  with the mention of Malcolm Blunt, Bart Kamp and Anthony Summers from this side of the pond, may I include the late Ian Griggs, who initiated Dealey Plaza U.K. back in the 1990's.  He attended many Lancer conferences and gave presentations there in 2003 & 2013 when I attended.  He published his book 'No Case to Answer' & accumulated many contacts with ex DPD officers.  He also encouraged many U.K. authors & researchers over the years, including Mathew Smith and fellow Forum member Chris Scally who has researched both the Zapruder and Nix films.  His dedication to the JFK case also resulted in DPUK members contributing to the book 'JFK Echoes From Elm Street'.  Maybe not a hero, but to quote The Kinks, a well respected man.

In our last email conversation JVB said because of what she had told everyone 'nobody will believe you now.'

I review books that I have read on 'Goodreads'.  After posting my review of 'Me & Lee' back in 2012, the author posted derogatory comments onto my review.  Followed by a second female reader who informed me that I didn't know the truth of JVB's story etc.  When I checked out this female Goodreads member she had one solitary book on her page, 'Me & Lee'.  I have little doubt that this was the author herself doing the trolling.

I recall her self promo efforts at Lancer in 2013 when she just appeared in the book room selling copies of her book, until Debra Conway ejected her.

  13. 'The Curse of the Kennedys'  appears in U.K.'s Sunday Times magazine April 19th 2020 by James Patterson.

Re RFK:- 'As he exited through the hotel kitchen afterwards, with news cameras still rolling, a 24 year old Christian Palestinian named Sirhan Bishara Sirhan pulled a .22-calibre pistol from a rolled-up Kennedy poster and shot the candidate in the head, back and shoulder.'

    IMG_20200420_092602.jpg

  14. Has any forum members any knowledge of authors/researchers who may have tracked down any of the named fellow travellers to Mexico City?

Albert Osborne aka John Howard Bowen died in San Antonio in '66.

Patricia Clare Rashleigh Winston & Pamela Lillian Mumford gave ambiguous statements regarding which bus they travelled on from Monterrey to Mexico City!  Both names absent from the Flecha Roja bus manifest.  Winston was the only witness who put LHO on the Flecha Roja bus #516.  Mumford stating they travelled by Transportes del Norte bus!

Dr. John McFarland was doing research at the University of Mississippi prior to his trip with wife Meryl to Mexico.  McFarland later returned to U.K. as surgeon/lecturer at Liverpool University & the Royal Liverpool Hospital.  He would later be contacted by FBI investigating the assassination.  c1990 he retired and lived in Soller on the island of Majorca.  He died in 2013.

  15. 4 hours ago, Joe Bauer said:

Laughable when DPD Chief Jesse Curry tells the media his department did an investigation survey and found only "25 to 50" of his men "even knew Jack Ruby."

My God, if it was only 5 it would be cause for concern!  But 50?

And even Curry knew it was way more.

Carousel Club stripper Kathy Coleman ( stage name Kathy Kay ) hooked up with former DPD officer Harry Olsen while working for Ruby. When interviewed after the assassination Olsen eventually named other DPD officers as frequent Carousel Club visiting pals of Ruby. Olsen stated Officer Gerald Hill ( we all know him ) was the closest to Ruby and most frequent Carousel Club drop in. Even getting 6 packs of beer as a freebie now and then!

And as Jim mentioned another researcher's comment that Ruby knew that many DPD officers ( 25?) just in the DPD building Oswald transfer security team on duty the morning of 11,24,1963 alone!

In his interrogation interviews and later court testimony Ruby mentions several officers by their last names that he knew by familiar sight ( Vaughn, Pierce, etc.)  regards his actions in the DPD basement that morning.

And within just feet of Ruby ( and Oswald ) when he bolted out to blast Oswald were another three DPD officers that knew him well.

Patrick Dean, Jim Leavelle and Big William "Blackie" Harrison (who was a mere "inches" from Ruby) for several seconds right up to Ruby's bolt and shooting.

Hundreds of DPD officers knew of Ruby's strip joint ( he was right downtown for years!) and it's a joke how many felt they had to personally "drop in" to "check on things" while the gorgeous hot babes were disrobing and grinding just feet away. Even motorcycle traffic control cops!

    J.D. Tippett knew Ruby well.

Newbie to the DPD force Roscoe White married a former Ruby employee Geneva. There is a well known photo of Ruby checking out scantily clad Geneva in person that apparently is credible. Even if she was only a "Rail" girl who may have been paid under the table? ? Perhaps same with Rose Cherami Ruby didn't keep many payroll records to avoid stating true income for tax reasons.

Other Carousel drop-ins through out Ruby's years read like a Who's Who of Dallas society. People think raunchy strip joints only attract raunchy low life lechers? Ha!

Carousel employee Nancy Hamilton, when interviewed by Mark Lane in his Documentary "Rush To Judgment", mentioned Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade himself as a Carousel Club drop-in.

Wade feigned ignorance of Ruby in his DPD press conference the night of 11,24,1963.

I believe his name ( speaking of Jack Ruby) is a "Jack Rubenstein?"

Please...what a ridiculously obvious act of lying distancing.

Ruby set many men up with his girls when it was convenient and they were obliging.

Seth Kantor states in his book on Ruby that pimping was just another aspect of Ruby "favors" to others besides providing fresh made sandwiches made at his favorite deli.

Dallas in Ruby's heyday was a virtual vice playground with all levels of wealth, power and influence and even police dipping into it's sinful indulgence waters.

Gambling, girls, guns, booze...you name it. Dallas was a "Swinging" town as they say.

Maybe Chief Curry didn't wet his whistle in this way ... but hundreds if not thousands of others sure did.

Perhaps same with Rose Cherami.  Dr. Michael Marcades about his book on his mothers case states:-"When she was working in the Ruby Carousel club she confirmed that Ruby & LHO knew each other.  When travelling on airplane with Lt Fruge she saw a newspaper headline that even questioned if Oswald & Ruby knew each other.  She exclaimed that hell, they not only knew each other, they were bed fellows!

  16. What kind of Doctor is Michael Marcades?   He has a PhD in Fine Arts.  Choral conducting.  He is a professional Choral/Instrumental conductor.  He blows his own trumpet.

Interesting hearing your real voice Bart. Love the English accent. Whether it's the King's English or Cockney. However, I don't know enough about English accents to ID yours specifically.

Bart Kamp is an honorary English resident.  Actually he's Dutch.

  17. I've watched Zimmy perform 'live' every decade since the 60's.  A long time devotee.  On his '63 Freewheelin' album, the first one I bought, a track 'I shall be free' contains the lines:- Well, my telephone rang it would not stop It’s President Kennedy callin’ me up. He said, “My friend, Bob, what do we need to make the country grow?” I said, “My friend, John, Brigitte Bardot, Anita Ekberg, Sophia Loren.”  Country'll grow!   After including so many social/protest lyrics in his works over the past 50+ years, to finally hear his 'Murder most foul' was wonderful.  Better late than never!

  18. James Jenkins who assisted in the autopsy of JFK on 22nd November stated that Humes remarked "the damn thing fell out in my hands"  referring to JFK's brain.  In his 2018 book 'At the cold shoulder of history' Michael Chesser M.D. contributes a full chapter on his research of the autopsy photos & x-rays.  He has no doubt that original & enhanced films were altered to fit-up Oswald with 'shots from the rear scenario'.  Changes to enhanced x-rays were done to obscure images.  Secret Service agent in the morgue exposed film.  With the coffin shell game prior to autopsy at Bethesda it is very difficult not to believe in alteration of head wounds.  How, when & where remain a mystery.
