MCAdams attacks Simkin

This website quotes John Simkin in an attack on John McAdams.

http://surftofind.com/fraud

McAdams has in turn created a thread on alt.assassination.JFK where former Forum members David Von Pein and Brendan Slattery have dogpiled on Simkin and called him a Nazi, Bolshevik, etc... someone out to enforce his view of the world on others.

The problem is that the key quote McAdams uses "It would also be nice to prosecute crackpots like John McAdams for deliberately covering up the truth about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, unless of course, they manage to cop an insanity plea." is not in quotes on the website and is not attributed to Simkin by the creator of the website.

McAdams is attacking Simkin for NO reason other than his ridiculous notion that John Simkin is some sort of fascist out to arrest anyone who disagrees with him. What malarkey!

McAdams owes John Simkin a beer.

Wait a minute Pat,

That Surftofind site doesn't look too legit.

Sandwiched between a photo of John John and pictures of Lincoln and some generals, there's this:

According to Kennedy assassination researcher, John Simkin;

"If you do any research of major figures in the JFK assassination via web search engines you will soon find yourself on John McAdams’ website. He is clearly the main disinformation source on the net. He adopts an academic tone and if one was not aware of the facts of the person or event he is writing about, one would think he has logically looked at the evidence available. He is therefore doing a successful job in misleading students about the JFK assassination. In fact, it could be argued that his impact has been as great as other disinformation agents such as David Atlee Phillips, G. Robert Blakey, Dick Billings, Jack Anderson, Gary Mack and Gerald Posner."

Indeed, John McAdams is a propagandist who simply exploits the well known capacity to deceive. Descartes illustrated the process when he said; "My second maxim was to be as firm and resolute in my actions as I was able, and not to adhere less steadfastly to the most doubtful opinions, when once adopted, than if they had been highly certain; imitating in this the example of travelers who, when they have lost their way in a forest, ought not to wander from side to side, far less remain in one place, but proceed constantly towards the same side in as straight a line as possible, without changing their direction for slight reasons, although perhaps it might be chance alone which at first determined the selection; for in this way, if they do not exactly reach the point they desire, they will come at least in the end to some place that will probably be preferable to the middle of a forest."

The only way to get out of the forest is to use your own head and to study the documents. It would also be nice to prosecute crackpots like John McAdams for deliberately covering up the truth about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, unless of course, they manage to cop an insanity plea.

That seems to have instigated this "discussion":

But you know, this doesn't sound like John Simkin:

"...It would also be nice to prosecute crackpots like John McAdams for deliberately covering up the truth about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, unless of course, they manage to cop an insanity plea."

John, did you really write that?

It is perfectly obvious --as Pat Speer pointed out -- that this is the owner of the website speaking, and not John Simkin.

It is shocking that professor McAdams would falsely attribute these views to John Simkin. Either McAdams is a conscious agent of misinformation, or he is just a very shoddy thinker and researcher.

McAdams has acknowledged that Simkin did not write the bit about having McAdams prosecuted. He acknowledged he owes Simkin an apology. He then turned around and added "Except, he did call me a "disinformation agent," which is a pretty fascist thing to do."

So, McAdams--a history professor--is still calling John Simkin, who is if anything a socialist, a "fascist." Pretty childish, IMO.

So is hiding behind aliases ( like "Paul Nolan" ) and falsely accusing posters of being pedophiles, both of which McAdams has done.

Jim Hargrove has documented John McAdams' shennanigans here:

I am sorry but I was away and I missed this posting. Thank you Pat for getting him to admit that:

"McAdams has acknowledged that Simkin did not write the bit about having McAdams prosecuted. He acknowledged he owes Simkin an apology. He then turned around and added "Except, he did call me a "disinformation agent," which is a pretty fascist thing to do."

I am pretty sure I have called him a disinformation agent in the past because that it what I believe. Of course, McAdams, Bohning, Ayton have said the same thing about me. Does that make them fascists? Of course it doesn't. This group started off by calling me a communist. Now that I have argued that I am a fairly successful capitalist, they have switched it to the other extreme and I am now a fascist. The strange world of those who think JFK was killed by a lone gunman.
