I think they did a pretty thorough search of the TSBD, albeit not timely. They found a Mauser and a Carcano . Shells aligned, shells disbursed. Interrogation was a joke as it was not recorded, entirely possible at the time, and it did involve the Presidential Assassination. In today's FBI, of course, such things couldn't happen in an investigation. Everything is above board. Just ask the Inspector General.
