Steve Bannon calls for arming kids with guns to stop school bullying

By David Edwards December 19, 2023

https://www.rawstory.com/steve-bannon-school-guns/

“Conservative podcast host Steve Bannon said that children should be taught to handle guns in school so they are not "picked on" by bullies.

During a program at Turning Point USA's America Fest on Tuesday, Bannon lamented that gun classes were not taught to young students in most schools.

"We should get kids off social media and start teaching them the proper use of guns, how to defend themselves, their own self-defense," the firebrand conservative said.

"Should we not make that an integrated part of the education so they're not picked on or not threatened and certainly not scared, right?" he told the crowd to cheers.”

"....he told the crowd to cheers".

Gee, that will fix everything.

The Colorado District Court found that Donald Trump had engaged in an insurrection, but that he couldn't be removed from the ballot because he was not a federal officer under the terms of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

Mark Meadows, on the other hand, was trying to get his case moved out of the Georgia State Court to Federal Court, because, he claimed, he was a federal officer.

Seems like this is bass ackwards..

BTW: This is the third judge in the country that has ruled, based on the evidence, that Donald Trump engaged in an insurrection; one in California in the John Eastman case, and now two in Colorado.

Things are beginning to stack up.

Colorado Supreme Court removing Trump from the 2024 ballot

Hooray!

I can't imagine the Republicans on the SCOTUS will sustain this ruling, but it's terrific to see a state supreme court acknowledge that Trump did, in fact, engage in an insurrection against the U.S. government.

But notice how the sociopath, Donald Trump, cleverly moved the goal posts here.

He didn't deny Ivana Trump's published claim that he used to keep a copy of Hitler's speeches in his nightstand.

Instead, he said that he never read Mein Kampf.

One of my old psychiatric supervisors was a Forensic Psychiatry professor at UCHSC who used to point out that sociopaths often give semantically evasive answers to incriminating questions.

For example, they may deny owning a "gun," but later admit that they do own a "rifle."

Wow, we're facing so many deadlines!

Here's my take right now in 2024.

Obviously the Colorado ruling won't effect an election result because we have the electoral college system.

Among 2/3 of the Republicans who think that Trump is facing politically motivated trumped up charges, this is another rallying cry for Trump's base in the primaries, particularly if it's overturned, which would seem likely.

But the Dems made their biggest inroads with Independents in 2022.

There is the stated possibility in polls of a sea change with both Independents and the  Republican party as to Trump's viability if he is convicted of a crime, with a third of Republicans saying that would be critical in voting for Trump for President, but of course right now, the alternatives they are considering are Nikki Haley and Ron Di Santis, and not voting Democratic..

But obviously time is running out and there is a possibility we may not get a Trump conviction in  2024! Even the current March 4th date, could still be postponed. This is the day before  Super Tuesday, March 5th, when 14 states have their primary, and when by that time, more than half (26 states) of  the states primaries have already happened!  But there is  Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York still outstanding.

I'm profoundly disappointed in Georgia where now  3 years ago,  there is that incriminating tape of Trump asking Ratzenberger to find him 11, 720 votes!

So there are 2 possibilities of a major sea change if !) Biden or Trump were to have a health incident, which is deemed more likely with Biden in voter's minds and 2) Trump get convicted.

But what's even more critical is the timing of any of these possible events.

If Biden was to have a health issue after June 2024, likely Kamala Harris would be the Democrat nominee. If Biden was to drop out or have a health issue in the next 3 months, there will be a lot of scrambling between Democratic candidates. And right now, there appears to be no clear front runner.

If Trump was to possibly get a conviction before the Republican convention in July. Would that make a difference? At a certain point, it would be too late and the Republicans would go with Trump anyway, and use as their campaign strategy that Trump was unfairly prosecuted by the "Deep state".

It's just starting to get late in the game!

Kirk- if the SC upholds the Colorado ruling, Trump's candidacy is over, as that would allow lawsuits to be filed in every state to keep him off the ballot. and the SC ruling would make summary judgement of such suits fait accompli.

However the U.S. Supreme Court as currently constituted is corrupt to the point of absurdity, and will likely make a faulty partisan decision that favors Trump.
