You can listen to the tapes in mp3 format here:

http://www.gpo.gov/f...ent-detail.html

Also note: "The National Archives’ Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library has a *different version* of the recording, which is approximately 40 minutes shorter."

Here's a snippet:

beginning 52 minute mark of tape 1:

Voice 1: "The body will be choppered to the Naval Medical Center at Bethesda. Over."

Voice 2 "The body will be choppered or go by ambulance to the Naval Center?"

Voice 1: "Will be choppered. Will be choppered."

.....

Voice 1: "Say again, say again doctor."

Voice 2: "The body is in a casket you know, and will have to be taken by ambulance, not by chopper."

Voice 1: "Alright I'll tell Capt Shepard that."

.....

General Clifton: "We do not want a helicopter for Bethesda Medical Center. We do want an ambulance and a ground return from Andrews to Walter Reed and we want the regular post-mortem that has to be done by law under guard performed at Walter Reed. Is that clear?"

Thanks for that Peter,

I will compare it to the tape released by the LBJ Library and compare them to see what is missing from the LBJ Library version and try to made the new additions to the transcript.

Sounds a lot like the body was going from Andrews to Walter Reed, then from Walter Reed to Bethesda.

EXCEPT ITS NOT COMPETE.

AS DOUG HORNE'S ARRB MEMO NOTES: THE COMPLETE TAPE OF THREE RADIO TRANSMISSION GOING AT THE SAME TIME FROM AF1 WOULD BE SIX TO SEVEN HOURS OF TAPE.

AND AS VINCENT SALANDRIA POINTS OUT IN HIS ESSAY TALE OF THE TAPES
T.H. WHITE AND PIERRE SALINGER BOTH DESCRIBE CONVERSATIONS THAT ARE NOT ON EITHER THE LBJ LIBRARY TAPE OR THE RECENTLY DISCOVERED CLIFTON/RAAB TAPE.

THE CBS NEWS REPORT THAT CAME OUT TODAY (1/31/12) ALSO MISTAKENLY REFERS TO THE CLIFTON/RAAB TAPE AS BEING THE COMPLETE TAPE, WHEN WE KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT ISN'T.

I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO CORRECT YOUR BLARING HEADLINE DAVID, AS IF YOU CORRECTED YOUR MISTAKES YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TIME TO TRY TO DEBUNK ANYTHING ELSE.

So very good to hear Dr Burkley on this tape. I would love to know why the body was sent to Bethesda instead of Walter Reed. If someone advised Burkley to
send the President's body to Bethesda instead I imagine it would be on tape somewhere, and along with it the reason for the diversion given.

Hi Frankie, JFK was taken to Bethesda at the request of Jackie, who said that she wanted him to go there because he was Navy, not Army.

And Jim is right, we should use this issue to get the MSM to look into the facts as to why the original tapes and transcripts are missing.
