    Surprised no one has noted this.

    Tom was a really knowledgeable and articulate guy who was not afraid to take on anyone about the JFK case.

    Somehow he arranged for his web  site to exist for seven years after his death.  I guess that was his way of getting the last slap in at McAdams and Von Pein.  Nice one Tom.

    He was indefatigable.  RIP Tom.  You will be missed.

    Tom was amazing. He is one of several Facebook friends who passed away in the last few years that I had no clue of their passing until several months later, usually by wishing them a "happy birthday" when the announcement automatically came up or by just plain wondering where they disappeared to.

    I, too, had no idea Tom was as old as he was! R.I.P.

    Bart and Vince,

    Thanks for pointing to this excellent interview.

    Harrison Livingstone wrote and said many times, including during this interview, that there is lots of evidence against Lee Harvey Oswald, and all of it is phony.  Every critic of the Warren Commission should be aware of this simple fact.  It is certainly hard to believe for those who have not studied the issue, but the deeper you go into this case, the more you know it is true.

    I worked with Harry a few times. Sure, he was eccentric and had some off-the-wall views. That said, he did some very important work (especially on the medical evidence) and was passionate. He was like a quarterback who was a gunslinger- sure, he threw some bad interceptions, but he also made some great throws and some amazing touchdowns.

    Kyle, I wonder if our resident Secret Service history authority Vince Palamara might have some ideas regards where to find Kellerman's daughter at this time?

    Thanks, Joe! As I told Kyle, this is one of my failings: I was unable to contact the Kellerman daughters, let alone even learn their (married) names, first or last. Harold Weisberg, who gave me the info, died in 2002. Perhaps somewhere on either June's or Roy's Find A Grave memorial (one or the other) left a memorial with contact information.

  4. I think a few factors will always keep interest in the assassination:

    1) the internet- there are many blogs, forums, images, etc., not to mention You Tube videos;

    2) books- like I said previously (this is not to brag but to make a point), my books sell every week with 0.0 mainstream press. They are basically just "sitting there", so to speak, yet people are going to Amazon and buying them. That is a good sign. Likewise, I see interest in several other titles;

    3) the Kennedys- countless color (and black and white) images and films/videos exist to make them "come alive", despite the 55+ years since the assassination. Interest in all things Kennedy (not just JFK) is alive and well---books continue to be best-sellers, networks still produce popular programs from time to time, etc.

    4) President Kennedy was "only" 10 presidents ago and was OUR LAST ASSASSINATED PRESIDENT: in a weird sort of way, that "helps", too (example: if we had a president assassinated since that time, perhaps it would quell interest in JFK's murder somewhat or even a lot);

    5) Interest in other big historical topics (WWII, Vietnam War, Lincoln, Civil War, etc.) is alive and well, albeit in concentrated (academic) groups...so interest will never truly die.

    Again, keep in mind: the first 30 years after was still very recent: Jackie was still living, the Connallys, JFK Jr, Ted Kennedys, etc. We had the Stone film, it was still the 20th century and pre-9/11. I think it is an awful lot to ask for the same amount of enthusiasm existing 55 (+) years later. That said, the 5 points above are evidence that the interest is still there. I believe the public can be injected with enthusiasm via another QUALITY movie like "JFK" (not crap like "Parkland"). Just look at the media stories involving Ted Cruz's dad "knowing" Oswald, the 2017 file releases, etc. It is "there"...just a little more dormant now.

    Vince - how much credence do you give the recounting of the Secret Sevice agents in the book?

    Hi, Paul---sorry for the delay in getting back to you (I log in sporadically here).

    To be honest, I am (now) on the fence. I also spoke to Robert Bouck (9/27/92). He believed there was a conspiracy BUT (a big but) he believed Oswald was the only shooter, a much more "conservative" view than one espoused in The Inheritance. Also, Forrest Sorrels died in 1993. I was unaware that his widow was still living then. When I briefly spoke to Sorrels in 1992 and his daughter was serving as his home nurse. On the other hand, Secret Service agent Roger Warner's conversation is more or less documented by the correspondence in the back of the book.

    I still stand behind my overall praise of the book (even Rich Pope admitted it is a "fun read"), but I would like to see transcripts, audio tape, or some kind of evidence to back up the conversations myself.

    Yes, quality major films always reignite more interests.

    I know that almost every year, there is a major film done with the Jewish holocaust under the Nazis as a main backdrop and these keep this tragedy in the minds of new generations.

    I believe it will take 2 to 3 major budget films done by great directors and with all-star casts to reignite interest in the JFK event in the minds of our younger people.

    We have said this here on this forum many, many times..but a big budget film on Dorothy Kilgallen , her remarkable, high achieving and celebrity glamorous life and suspicious death with connections to her JFK/Oswald/Jack Ruby investigation would be a fine first film for this purpose.

    Perhaps a new film centered on Mark Lane, Abe Bolden or even a new film on Jim Garrison might help.

    Otherwise, only some death bed confession by someone close to the main suspects may spur more interest.

    Definitely!

    Another thing to keep in mind in the good news, bad news department: while all of Clint Hill's books (all three of them) were best-sellers with much media attention, they were very pro-government and pro-Warren Commission; the equivalent to three Posner books.

    Why not name names, Vince? I would think that if he is about to publish a book, and is so well read, he must, already, have some kind of presence in the community or in relevant social media, no?

    Matt Douthit. It is a pro-conspiracy book. He interviewed quite a few still-living witnesses in the medical area including the very elusive Gregg Cross who attended the Bethesda autopsy, among others. This is in addition to much primary and secondary source work. He is much aware of all the work that has gone before him and has built on it.

  8. One more thing: I know of a young (early 20's) author of an upcoming massive book on the medical evidence who is a savant on the case and a tremendous write, as well. Also, when I was in Dealey Plaza in 2016, many young people were walking around and were very enthusiastic about the case. Hope springs eternal.

    (always remember: the Lincoln movie from 2012 was huge and all things related to President Lincoln were red hot at the time: books, Tom Hanks specials, etc. Give the people a spark and they WILL be interested. If Oliver Stone was to do ANOTHER ASSASSINATION MOVIE, interest would spike up yet again. The case was pretty dead from 1980-1988)

  9. I think it is the natural inertia of the times. Keep in mind, it is 55 years later, 10 presidents later, the 21rst century, post-9/11, many witnesses and principals have died, etc.

    That said, the 2016 Ted-Cruz's-dad-knew-Oswald was a huge story. In addition, the October 2017 Trump-releases-the-files story was a huge story, as well. I had many people write and talk to me in person about this. The 2018 CNN special on The Kennedys, although disappointing, generated tremendous ratings and many repeats. Today, go to any super market and it seems "JFK was murdered in a conspiracy" screams from every cover of a tabloid monthly if not weekly.

    I am NOT vouching for the integrity of these items. I am just saying that the case is far from stone-cold dead.

    AND, speaking of "stone", Trump aide Roger Stone, author of the best-selling LBJ-did-it book, is constantly in the news and that specific book still sells like wildfire (again, NOT vouching for the veracity or integrity of the information).

    My four books sell EVERY single week (since 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2018, respectively) with 0.0 mainstream publicity (no television or mainstream radio) and via a small publisher.

    Every time I post Kennedy photos or information online, it generates tremendous interest (in today's vernacular, hundreds of "likes" and "comments" and positive "emojis").

    ----

    All that being said, the mainstream media are doing their darndest to kill the case; at least since the 50th anniversary. On a personal note: from roughly 1998-2013, if you put "secret service jfk" in a search engine like Google, Yahoo, etc., my many blogs and videos would come up and pretty much dominate anything else. Since 2013? SOMEONE or some people has messed with the meta data or something, because it is the total opposite now: put "secret service jfk" in Google and little or nothing of my information comes up in the all-important first page.

    Gee, I wonder why?

    Interest in the Kennedys and the assassination will never die...but if we are expecting things to be like the halcyon days of 1988-1993 when the Stone film was out, many books were in JFK ASSASSINATION sections of book stores, and many principals like Jackie, Governor Connally (JFK Jr even), etc. were still alive, we are fooling ourselves.
