Robin Unger
the fritz notes "out with Bill Shelley in front" comment most likely does not refer to the assassination Timeline but instead actually refers to the Timeline just prior to Lovelady going home. Crop from the Bookhout report http://www.aarclibrary.org/publib/jfk/wc/wr/html/WCReport_0322a.htm Wow, pretty cool customer. Was Bookhout stating Oswald blew JFK's brains out, went downstairs, had lunch on the 1st floor, and then went outside and hung around with Shelley for five or ten minutes before heading home? THAT depends on whether or not you actually believe Shelley went down to the rail yard, as he claimed he did in his WC testimony. According to his 1st day statement, he went back inside the TSBD and phoned his wife after speaking to Gloria Calvery, and never said a thing about going to the rail yard. " The Testimonies are contradictory to one another, that is part of the problem." Once again, no kidding.
Robin Unger
Mr. SHELLEY - Gloria Calvary from South-Western Publishing Co. ran back up there crying and said "The President has been shot" and Billy Lovelady and myself took off across the street to that little, old island and we stopped there for a minute. Mr. BALL - You went out there and then what did you do? Mr. SHELLEY - Well, officers started running down to the railroad yards and Billy and I walked down that way. Mr. BALL - How did you get down that way; what course did you take? Mr. SHELLEY - We walked down the middle of the little street. Mr. BALL - The dead-end street? Mr. SHELLEY - Yes. Mr. BALL - Did you see Truly, Mr. Truly and an officer go into the building? Mr. SHELLEY - Yeah, we saw them right at the front of the building while we were on the island. Robert Prudhomme
So, did Gloria get to the steps before Lovelady and Shelley did? According to Lovelady she did.
Robin Unger
Mr. BALL - Do you have any idea how long it was from the time you heard those three sounds or three noises until you saw Truly and Baker going into the building? Mr. SHELLEY - It would have to be 3 or 4 minutes I would say because this girl that ran back up there was down near where the car was when the President was hit. Mr. BALL - She ran back up to the door and you had still remained standing there? Mr. SHELLEY - Yes. So Shelley said that Calvery was down watching the motorcade and 3-4 minutes later she came running up to the TSBD steps ?

What a great and pertinent question. Shelley never claimed to be out after he left the steps. The videos don't show him to be out. And yet Oswald told Fritz he was out with Shelley. Robin Unger
Mr. SHELLEY - We ran out on the island while some of the people that were out watching it from our building were walking back and we turned around and we saw an officer and Truly. Mr. BALL - And Truly? Mr. SHELLEY - Yes. Mr. BALL - Did you see them go into the building? MMr. SHELLEY - No; we didn't watch that long but they were at the first step like they were fixin' to go in.
