This decision marks the first time since 1869 that a court has disqualified a public official under Section 3, and the first time that any court has ruled the events of January 6, 2021 an insurrection. For the fiscal year, which ended Aug. 31, the state collected $10.83 billion in oil and natural gas production tax revenue, more than double the $5.02 billion in fiscal year 2021. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said the state’s “All Funds” tax collections, which includes general revenue, were $77.21 billion, up 25.6 percent compared to the last fiscal year.
