  1. Security is both overt and covert. Agents didn't always ride on the rear of the car, the top wasn't always used, etc. Hundreds/thousands of plainclothes police and detectives in the crowds and building rooftops being guarded compensated for this back in the FDR-JFK era (I would even go up to LBJ, perhaps Nixon eras, as well). Dallas was awful: building rooftops were not guarded (this was only an 11-mile motorcade. JFK's longest domestic motorcade-Tampa, 11/18/63- was 28 miles long and multi-story rooftops were guarded). Other than Hill intermittently on Main Street, security was not overt and there wasn't much of an covert force, either. JFK's longest foreign motorcade, Berlin, was even longer than Tampa, yet they made sure to pull out all the overt and covert security they could. I wouldn't say for sure that security was truly "invisible" in Grand Forks and "only" rooftops were guarded- as per normal protocol, a strong overt plainclothes force was more than likely in play. It could have APPEARED that those doorways were unsecured, but they probably were. If a young boy or girl (or priest/nun) decided to be a killer back then, they probably would have succeeded: they didn't seem to guard them too closely. IN MODERN TIMES, one thing greatly concerns me: everyone is allowed to use their iPhones and snap close-up pics and selfies with the president. An assassin could fashion something to maim or kill the president disguised AS a harmless iPhone. Just as the agents of old treated younger people/kids and priests/nuns as totally harmless, the modern agents treat these iPhones as harmless, as well...which just goes to show you that no protection is absolute or perfect. The point in Dallas was how awful it was, how much was stripped away, and how much was falsely blamed on President Kennedy. In the interest of time (as I said, I could have been up there for hours), I didn't literally read or include every single article, document, etc. That said, I did note about Germany and the thousands of plainclothes guards. There was often both a visible line of security (agents and/or police and/or military) and a covert force in the crowds, blending in and covering windows and weak spots the men lining the streets could miss.
  2. I mean the conventional view of terrorism in the post-9/11 world. Security was great in Duluth.
  3. Thanks for the info, Gary! Well, giving them their due, the agents and local authorities (and, sometimes, the military) would have had the ground-level covered, even if it may have seemed like no one was there. In fact, I would wager that the rooftop security made the lack of overt security on the ground somewhat unnecessary (at least as far as a show of force or police state mentality). Keep in mind this was decades before terrorism was an issue----they worried more about pistols and rifles back then.
  4. FROM MY FIRST BOOK: 20 H 410/ SETH KANTOR REPORT: "A Western Union man who had been with us since we came down from Andrews Air Force Base came into the [Parkland Hospital] office. A nurse asked him about a report that a Secret Service agent had been killed out on the street. HE SAID THAT IT WAS TRUE. This was one of the immediate rumors which sprang up. It took several days for this particular rumor not to be believed in Dallas itself (FELLOW IN JAGGARS-CHILES-STOVALL who got it from a friend who got it from a POSTMAN* supposed to have been at the death scene that the shot and bleeding SS man was in on the plot to kill the President.)" [emphasis added] *the 1/22/77 issue of "The Continuing Inquiry" contains an article written by Penn Jones and Gary Shaw re: the "dead" agent incident as reported in a letter sent to Jim Garrison during the Clay Shaw trial: "A Mr. Robertson, Assistant Director of the Dallas or Fort Worth Secret Service office, confided to [friend of writer who requested anonymity] in 1963 that a plot to kill President Kennedy was planned and he did not want any part of it. On November 22, 1963, my friend was in the office of Mr. Robertson when all phones began to ring, about the time Kennedy was arriving at Carswell Air Force Base [in Fort Worth], Mr. Robertson then said, 'Well, this is it' and left the office. Since that time Mr. Robertson's family of seven children and wife have not seen or heard from him, yet his paychecks continue to be mailed to his home." Jones/ Shaw: "Our 1965 investigation led us to believe Robertson was in Dallas but was posing as a POSTAL INSPECTOR, but it was reported to us that he had left Dallas. We also learned from newsmen that something unusual did happen on Harwood [street] shortly before the turn to Main Street. No one wanted credit for this, but we were told by reliable newsmen that a man jumped in front of Kennedy's car on Harwood shouting, "Stop, I must tell you." The man, according to their report, was promptly wrestled to the ground and hustled away." [emphasis added] ----- To my great surprise, there are three reports that corroborate the above article, in conjunction with the overlooked Kantor report: The first is the actual LETTER sent to Garrison from an "Amy Britvar" dated 2/21/68 and originating from Turtle Creek Blvd. in Dallas, TX. [thanks go to John Armstrong and Jack White for the copy of this letter]! An internet people search for Britvar drew a blank, although there ARE other Britvars in Texas (further work will be done on locating this person). The second is a Treasury Department (U.S. Customs Service) document, dated 1/17/80, from Joseph G. Forrester, U.S. Customs, to Attorney General Benjamin R. Civiletti [thanks go to John Armstrong and Ed Sherry for this document; see above image]. The letter reads in part: "My interest in the Kennedy murder started in 1966 when I met an Air Force Master Sergeant at St. Albans Naval Hospital, Queens, New York. This sergeant, an elderly man, was suffering from terminal cancer. He stated that on November 22,1963 he was attached to Air Force One as an electronics technician. He further stated that after the President was shot a message was received over a military frequency that multiple assassins had attacked the President...a Secret Service agent. Mr. Robertson, stationed in the Dallas-Fort Worth area disappeared on November 22,1963, yet his family still receives his paychecks. The disappearance of an individual is not unusual except that it has been said that Mr. Robertson became aware of an assassins plot against the president. An assassin plot had been unearthed in Chicago a short time before President Kennedy's Dallas trip. Please do not misconstrue this letter. I am not a crank; but I am sincerely interested in this crucial investigation. I am willing to join an investigative team and if that is not possible, will make myself available for an interview by investigative officers." The third is a lengthy memorandum written by Vince Salandria, dated 1/31/67, regarding an interview with Rita Rollins, a Navy Nurse with an interesting story to tell.---the crucial part in question reads as follows: "The name of the person in Dallas...is Inez Robertson. CHUCK ROBERTSON, HER HUSBAND, WORKS AT THE POST OFFICE...Inez Robertson, actually saw them [men with guns] make a breakdown of the rifles. This tall man with long grey or white hair[-]he was in the station wagon. There is a luggage rack on the station wagon. It was a Rambler station wagon. This fellow with the mixed grey hair carried them [the armed men] to the airport...This tall man had been around Dallas the day before the assassination...THIS EPISODE HAS CAUSED FRICTION BETWEEN CHUCK ROBERTSON AND INEZ ROBERTSON. HE IS NOT IN DALLAS NOW." [emphasis added]
  5. The Kennedy Detail Exposed: the real story about JFK's Secret Service The Kennedy Detail Exposed- the real story about JFK’s Secret Service by Vince Palamara 11/22/19, Dallas, TX (seventh annual JFK assassination conference). President Kennedy should have survived 11/22/63. Introduction by Don Ratliff. I met Oliver Stone at the conference (I was followed by author/actor/ director Sean Stone, son of Oliver Stone, who was in the audience, along with many other authors and researchers in 2016). The Q & A session at the end included fellow TMWKK participant Ed Tatro, among others. Very proud of my 11/22/2019 Dallas conference presentation; definitely my best one ever by a country mile!
  6. Like I told Pat, Briggs or not in the photo, there is definite evidence that (at least one) agent of the CIA was at Parkland (Berger's report + interviews done by Bill Sloan with Hugh Huggins and Dick Russell's interview with Colonel Bishop). Also, the Briggs/CIA/TSBD connection is disturbing.
  7. Fair enough. Briggs or not in the photo, there is definite evidence that (at least one) agent of the CIA was at Parkland (Berger's report + interviews done by Bill Sloan with Hugh Huggins and Dick Russell's interview with Colonel Bishop). Also, the Briggs/CIA/TSBD connection is disturbing.
  8. Assassination and Commemoration: JFK, Dallas, and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
  9. The former executive director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Briggs spent one year working on research for The Sixth Floor project in the Washington, D.C., offices of exhibition designers Bob Staples and Barbara Charles. Recorded February 16, 2009. Mr. Briggs passed away on November 4, 2015. WOW! I posted about the disturbing Sixth Floor Museum connection of former CIA officer Charles Briggs and two relatives of his went nuts! They want this connection---get this---"erased from the internet. You have no business defaming a good man. He worked successfully with the Kennedy administration, NOT against it." His granddaughter actually inspired me to keep up my post and expand it + share it on social media everywhere. She actually had the audacity to tell me "take it down. Take it down NOW." I don't obey. From 2016 Jim DiEugenio: Is it not amazing how a guy can live in the shadows his whole life, and then suddenly, due to an obituary, we find out who he is. Briggs helped set up the sixth floor for CIA, he apparently oversaw CIA interests in declassification for ARRB, and now we know he went through Angleton's files after he was removed by Colby. This guy was a player in the JFK case and no one knew it. Chris Newton: I inadvertently stumbled on this connection, here in this forum while investigating other issues, and Gary Mack and I had a "private" conversation about Charles' status. Charles Briggs had more knowledge of more secrets in the CIA than probably anyone other than Angleton (and it appears he was the keeper of Angleton's files as well, moving about 15% of the 400 yards of files into the main CIA database and overseeing the destruction of the rest). https://www.jfk.org/oral_histories/charles-a-briggs/?fbclid=IwAR3SPo7c58NnXJtrhSGqIkGs1Sqq2CQgTyADSDgQ3GdQs2mjVjd5iDyunh4 · CHARLES BRIGGS as a younger man. The Parkland Hospital mystery man 11/22/63: people on The Education Forum believe he looks like Briggs! SECRET SERVICE AGENT ANDY BERGER'S REPORT ABOUT A CIA AGENT AT PARKLAND HOSPITAL Unidentified male in sunglasses (inside the hospital wearing sunglasses?) that some people want to believe is a Secret Service agent. 10. Berger differentiated between the CIA agent and the FBI agent. The FBI agent turned out to be Doyle Williams, the same man who was used in the Warren Commission re-enactments, sitting in the follow-up car (used as "the limousine") and wearing Connally's jacket!
  11. it could very well be that Berger did not feel comfortable in revealing the specific identity of the agent in his report (or was told not to)
  12. Ok, I am not usually big on photo analysis and interpretation, but that looks like him (then)!
  13. As evidence of other unlikely unions, connections, and locations: RFK riding in the same limousine his brother was assassinated in...with LBJ
  14. You can frame that, Anthony! FINALLY somebody gets it! The people I spoke to informally at the conference this past November were either oblivious to JVB or didn't care. They saw this as a JFK assassination conference; period, end of story. They didn't view this as "you are now under her spell and your attendance equates to a loyalty oath" haha! Geez Louise... Many people I spoke to never read her book (!) and only knew her as a nice lady who puts on an entertaining conference--these were the unknown, non-researcher attendees I chatted with (quite a few in four days). As for the seasoned authors and researchers (name people) I spoke to, the clear feeling conveyed to me was that this was a forum located in Dallas, the site of the JFK assassination, in which they could give their lecture and perhaps sell some of their books. You know what people were REALLY excited about? Going to Dealey Plaza and SOCIALIZING WITH OTHERS! NETWORKING! To the point where many CAPA folks intermingled with "us" on the knoll and elsewhere.
  15. Are people going to disassociate themselves from John Newman and all the CAPA people who attended/ are attending her (future) conferences? If so, that would be a damn shame and their loss: John is brilliant. Heck, he could even attend a James "I am not in any" Files conference and I would just say "tsk task" and move on.
  16. You make some good points, Rob. Trust me-I fully "get" what you all are saying. I look at it this way: my publisher, Kris Millegan of Trine Day, invited me to be a speaker for this past November conference; I accepted. I am a Trine Day author. I wasn't invited to CAPA. Like I said above (and elsewhere), if you were a fly on the wall, you would definitely have the impression that this was a TRINE DAY conference--no photos of Judyth are anywhere to be found, no loyalty oaths are given, and, with so many (CAPA BOARD MEMBERS AND BOARD OF ADVISORS!!!) luminaries attending (Newman, the two Wechts, etc.), pretty soon there won't be anyone left to "safely" follow. As someone who "lived through" the Lancer/COPA feud of 1993-2000ish, I can tell you, WITH A STRAIGHT FACE, the bad feelings toward Deb Conway were identical to Judyth; it is what it is (and I mean to cast no aspersions toward dear Deb-just telling you what I saw, read and heard multiple times during this era): "this woman came out of nowhere! WHO is she?!? She is only in it for the money! I never heard of her until 1995! I think she is CIA! SHE IS TRYING TO CO-OPT COPA AND THE RESEARCH COMMUNITY! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Sounds eerily familiar?
  17. She also appears near the beginning of Judyth's appearance on THE MEN WHO KILLED KENNEDY.
  18. Jump to search David Harold "Dry Hole" Byrd https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Harold_Byrd In the 1930s he purchased the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, scene of the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy. CIA Charles Briggs https://wikispooks.com/wiki/Charles_A._Briggs https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/washingtonpost/obituary.aspx?pid=176359949 A notable contribution was serving as liaison for the creation of the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, TX dedicated to the JFK Assassination. He served five years as Chairman of the Board for the Central Intelligence Retirement Association (CIRA) and also four years as Chairman of the Board for the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO). In 1999 he was awarded the distinguished David Atlee Philips Founder's Award by AFIO for sustained and exceptional contributions. In response to a query about Briggs’s role in the creation of museum, spokesperson Megan Bryant wrote in email: “The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza was saddened to learn of the passing of Charles A. Briggs, Sr. In the late 1980s, Mr. Briggs, during his retirement, worked part-time for about a year in the Washington, D.C. offices of noted museum exhibition design specialists, Robert Staples and Barbara Fahs Charles, as a researcher and writer. A well-respected member of the Staples & Charles team, Briggs along with his research partner, Abigail Porter, assisted in the development of The Sixth Floor exhibition, John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation. Briggs contributions are still evident and continue to be appreciated by Museum visitors today
  19. Very cool idea! It's funny--despite all the hard feelings from some, the number of attendees at both conferences this past fall is about on par with the 1990's conferences I attended: 150 or so people. Back in 1999, Deb was the one a lot of people were weary of (it is what it is, right or wrong). 20 years later, it is someone else.
