  1. Trump stimulus package to include a $1,000+ check to individuals: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/17/us-government-to-give-citizens-emergency-financial-aid Still no toilet paper in Chautauqua County.
  2. I'll pray with you, like we're Nixon and Kissinger.
  3. I forgot the e-mails, because the other issues I listed stand out so much for me. I suspect they did for a majority of the electorate, who could have cared no less for a bit of internet non-security (were the secret defense plans lost?). I think it was her past record that killed her candidacy then and would kill it today. Failing to mount an issues campaign against Trump was just the clincher. But, again, will there be a Nixonian bounce-back?
  4. OK, good to know McBride approached the authorities first. Sorry I didn't research the FBI report in the WR exhibits.
  5. Am I wrong in thinking that it was the nexus of Mena, AR, and Vince Foster scuttlebutt on the internet that made Hillary unelectable? How would other people characterize it, other than an anti-establishment vote for Trump in one particular year? Because it doesn't seem like Hillary could run against any GOP and win, and it even seems unlikely she could win a DEM nomination at any future point. So many issues there: -- A multiply cheated-on wife -- A "warmonger" - A Whitewater conspirator - No verifiable achievements as secretary of state - An "everything in her own mind" candidate who failed to mount an issues campaign - The "Evita" factor (partly an anti-fem bias in the electorate) Is it the whole ball of wax, or was there one tipping point issue? Will she be the Nixon of our time, and make an incredible bounce-back?
  6. Just an effing nightmare that shows how income and security are easily toppled illusions under capitalism. It means that the employment system was in need of repair for decades, and has only continued on mass delusion.
  7. Jim - thanks for your answers. My question on whether Harvey was doing low-level intelligence work in 1958 is based in part on my suspicion that Harvey, the Dallas Oswald, is older than his purported 24 years. (I've referred to Oswald here before as the best connected 24-year-old in history, barring Alexander the Great - and Alex came from money.) I appreciate your speculation on Oswald's juvenile motives for wanting to kill Eisenhower, but it would really interest me to know if Palmer McBride ever walked back that story, claimed it was forced on him by the FBI, or flat out denied making the statement. I understand if you are not able to answer this.
  8. What happened on that European trip Jackie took without Jack, on which she was squired by Gianni Agnielli and Aristotle Onassis, leading after some circumstances to her second marriage? Do you believe Monroe's death was a suicide, and not murder, pr a covered-up accidental poisoning by her doctors?
  9. One question might be: is the Harvey Oswald left behind in New Orleans in 1957-1958 already doing low-level intelligence work? Admittedly, the NOAAA sounds like a small-time, hobbyist organization - but is this Oswald already dangling himself as a Red sympathizer to see if there are any inordinate Sputnik lovers among space program aficionados? Any dangerous bilateralists in the emerging space race crowd? Was there an early COINTEL-type program infiltrating these most peripheral of social and political orgs? Would that be the FBI putting the scion of Hungarian Communists to work? Is that how they descended so quickly on the likes of McBride and Gehrke - because no real investigation was necessary if they already had a file on NOAAA? Was Palmer McBride ever questioned on his 1963 statement that the Oswald he knew wanted to kill President Eisenhower? Did he stick to that assertion?
  10. Trump offers a billion in attempt to corner the market on a Corona vaccine for the US only: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/16/not-for-sale-anger-in-germany-at-report-trump-seeking-exclusive-coronavirus-vaccine-deal Something tells me he was lowballing.
  11. And good luck with that... https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/14/811609026/the-new-coronavirus-can-live-on-surfaces-for-2-3-days-heres-how-to-clean-them
  12. "I named my daughter Fema, in the way that some races have of marking a doorpost with blood, in hope that the terror might pass over them..." -- H. P. Lovecraft, from The Apocryphal Manuscripts
  13. Kirk - apologies for being unclear: read further above for the poster who thought it was "silly." Thanks for recommending The Pinochet File.
  14. It is an old rumor, and not a silly one. For instance, if subjects could be tricked into participating in a false assassination based on the probability that an arrested assassin with Castro connections (perhaps even an intelligence operative said to be playing a part) would cause the military to force an invasion of Cuba on Kennedy, then valuable cooperation, high and low, could be obtained. Also, financial contributors or domestic spies could be used and entrapped, without recourse to complaint. A certain US investigative bureau today keeps its counterterrorism departments employed and the terror threat alive by manufacturing domestic terrorists out of citizens who can be tipped over into extremism and violence by supplying fake bombs, dummy plans and false accomplices who are informants or agents. Does this long-running scheme seem silly now? One might want to read widely on the circumstances of the 1993 WTC bombing and the informant used by the investigative bureau. One might want to read as far as speculation that the informant was foisted on the investigative bureau by an intelligence agency whose charter severely limits its domestic operations. As far as JFKA sources on this go, Kirk, read around in the various interviews (and EdForum posts!) of Gerry Patrick Hemming, and the interview with Roy Hargraves conducted by Noel Twyman for the book Bloody Treason. (This interview is available separately on the internet). Both these guys were disinfo artists, and neither will speak about a false assassination attempt per se. However, you will get a feel for the milieu of anti-Kennedy actors that might have been co-opted into a false attempt.
  15. Arbitrary TSA rules suspended: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/03/coronavirus-tsa-liquid-purell-paid-leave-rules.html
  16. Trump passed the test, or so they say: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2020/mar/14/trump-coronavirus-test-video
  17. There's a back thread with pix of RFK and McNamara at the midnight re-interment.
  18. I think he's taken the Coronavirus test in secret, and the results have been withheld for national security.
  19. ????!!!! Don't the Koch brothers own a US-based paper towel/TP empire? Would anyone ship containers of bulky paper rolls overseas?
  20. I've always wondered how the Roman Polanski version of Day of the Dolphin would have turned out, with a different screenwriter and different cast. "[Robert] Merle's novel, a satire of the Cold War, is supposedly the basis for this film, but the film's plot was substantially different from that of the novel." [wiki]
  21. Why are people buying up the toilet paper? Is there some underpublicized alimentary component to the disease that I've neglected to notice? Something visceral and slippery?
  22. I don't have that high an opinion of my hindquarters - six for $0.99 works as well as six for $6.99. It's like I told somebody who was on a fixed income but demanded Bounty paper towels because they pick up better: "You can buy three rolls of dollar store for one roll Bounty. Use twice as much and you're still ahead."
  23. You will see these issues discussed in the back threads, though I doubt there are entire threads devoted to them. You might try attempt and abort as search terms. The fake assassination that morphed into a real one is an ongoing rumor that's been around for decades. I recall first reading about it before the end of the 1980s, though I cannot recall where. Tosh Plumlee, the self-alleged pilot of assassination personnel to Dallas, claimed to have been part of an abort team stationed below the south knoll. Look his posts up. I, myself, would like to know more about the fake assassination gambit than I know now .
  24. Dollar stores in Chautauqua County, NY, cleaned out of toilet paper.* Wheeler cornered the market. *Personally observed today.
  25. The two middle ones 1950's - 60's? Top left too young for the 50's? The pic at the bottom right shows Roselli with grey hair reading the 1957 Bantam paperback edition of Alec Waugh's novel Island in the Sun, appropriate since it's about a Caribbean island throwing off its colonial past through political intrigue. I can't remember if there's a revolution, but the book was a timely best seller, appealing to interested parties. It was a movie that year, also. The bottom middle photo is, I think, the Los Angeles-based Roselli of the late 1940s. Top left looks earlier in the 1940s. The top middle picture appears to be the comedian and gentle chain-jerker George Gobel. Roselli apparently owned the necktie in the bottom middle photo in 1948:
