  1. Mr. Caddy's request raises some interesting issues, such as: - where is this Forum based? It was in the UK when I joined about 4 years ago. The time of postings seems to be based on UK times. - why would a US drivers licence serve as proof of ID? How many Forum members live elsewhere? - how many members had to "prove" their ID when they joined this Forum? Those points, and others aside, concerns about bona fides should be a concern for all. Should all members be required to provide same?
  2. Mr. Berkley purports to be somewhat familiar with criminal prosecution, but seems remiss in criminal defence. A second year law student could not secure a conviction (aside from the fact that he or she could not practise law) because any law student who has completed a course in evidence could have successfully defended Oswald ( in the imaginary world where law students try murder cases.). I base that comment on 38 years at the bar, and 40 years of studying this case. Happy new year to all.
  3. The "Sturgis" fellow looks like Herman Munster. Perhaps Herman and Lee?
  4. Will the magic bullet be animated or live action? Who plays Rubenstein? Who plays Harvey or Lee or both? (Are the Olsen twins too old? Wrong gender does not matter via poetic licence, artistic liberty.) These simplistic tv melodramas are neither history nor entertaining! Happy labour day!
  5. My novel would start with Lincoln and Kennedy sitting in an ante room to the "eternal judgment." Kennedy: "Mr. Lincoln, how long have you been here?" Lincoln: "Well at first, I thought that it was the intermission for the play. And you sir?" Kennedy: "Mm, I was just looking at that fellow near the wall when..." In walks, Jesus, looking shocked. He gasps : "I never thought that Bill O'Reilly would get us all!"
  6. With all due respect Jim, the equine actor who played Mr. Ed in the 1950's tv show would be ideal. Title: " I Believe."
  7. Tommy, It took me 5 months to enter my new password, and before it expires, I want to do my civic duty and vote: NORMAL.
  8. Where is your source for the claim that Jackie heard JFK "yelling"?
  9. Wow, the mob has been covering it up for 50 years. Anyone want to buy some swamp land?
  10. He looks like most people I knew in the early seventies. He may have been with a private security agency, if the author was paying for the exhumation. He may not have wanted to be filmed because of the bad hair day.
  11. I was referring to Bob's use of the phrase. Incidentally, the older fellows whom I talked to rarely spoke of the effects of bullets or the effectiveness of rifles or carbines. They talked mostly of the politics of the war, the lack of training for soldiers, the lack of supplies, battles in various locations, surrenders, being forced to work as POWs in German factories, etc. It was a terrible time for most.
  12. It may or may not have been understood. Some people here can't distinguish between firearm types, bullets, dimensions, etc. A government training officer once told a group of us management types that we should never assume, because then we make an ass of u and me. peace.
  13. None of the Italian war vets that I talked to ever called a bullet a Humanitarian rifle.
  14. Hey the guy had to send a moneygram, say goodbye to his dog in the car, and "sneak" past a few dozen cops. We couldn't expect him to be on time, could we? (and let's not forget putting on that sporty hat, one must look the part of a hitman!)
  15. In lone nutterville that is not magical at all. Kentucky fried fallacies explain it.
  16. Just Lee and his mail order marvel that fired magical bullets. Nothing to look at here folks, move along!
