  1. John, Thanks for your comments. I go through spurts (I can't say binges) and then I'm without a drink for several days. I think my habit is a result of stress, personal problems and lack of sleep/rest. I will try some of your advice over my upcoming break.
  2. http://alcoholism.about.com/cs/homework/a/blwhatis1.htm http://alcoholism.about.com/z/js/o.htm?k=a...a/blwhatis1.htm I don't think I'm an alcoholic, however, I do consume alcohol on a regular basis (too often, according to guidelines). I often wonder where do you draw the line, when it comes to defining an alcoholic? Is one an alcoholic when one can not cope with work and family due to drinking? Probably. Is one an alcoholic if one drinks over 20-30 portions of alcohol a week, but does it in a social manner and copes well with work and social life? Probably not. To me those are important questions, I fear it is an illness that can creep up on you, if you are not alert. I am at risk. I have family and friends who are alcoholics, so I've seen what the disease can do. I hope there'll be some better ways to deal with this disease in the future, the current methods are not adequate imo. We have our fair share of this problem here in Finland: http://www.lfhk.cuni.cz/patfyz/edu/Current...n%20Finland.ppt
  3. I suppose John Bevilaqua is given the same amount of lattitude as other members, I have not received any member specific instructions on moderation policy. I am not aware of him having been a member earlier, and having been banned from this forum. If you (or any member) suspect(s) there are posts that are in violation of Forum rules, please use the report function to report such posts.
  4. Yea, Ron, what became of the bottle of Coke and the bottle and chicken bones from the 6th Floor Sniper Nest? Were they entered into evidence? Do they have WC exhibit numbers? Were they checked for fingerprints? Do they contain DNA? What's with the soda bottles that were so much a part of the evidential scene? And I kind of like Dr. Pepper better than Coke too. And there was a Dr. Pepper machine on the first floor, so why did Oswald, after eating his lunch on the first floor, go up to the second floor rather than buying a Dr. Pepper from the machine on the first floor? So many questions, so little time. BK Bill, The bottle and chicken bones are an interesting tidbit. I recall it was a Dr. Pepper bottle that was found up there. http://jfkfiles.blogspot.com/2007/08/rewri...as-vincent.html I know the bottle was dusted for prints, and they turned out not to be Oswalds. I wonder if we know whose the prints were? I believe at one time, one of the African-American men working at the TSBD claimed ownership of the chicken and the empty bottle. Is that correct? Were these bones in fact found on the 5th or 6th floor. I vaguely recall this discussion on this forum. Antti
  5. While Rybka was certainly out of the loop, Greer was not! From "Two Hospitals" page 361 Crossfire The Plot that Killed Kennedy by Jim Marrs. Secret Service driver William Greer testified to the Warren Commission that he did not know the way to Parkland and so followed Sheriff Decker and two other Secret Service officials, Forrest Sorrels and Winston Lawson. However, in his testimony, Chief Curry is strangely vague, saying only that the limousine went to the hospital under "siren escort." What is the problem? During the time of the House Select Commttee on Assasinations, a film taken by Dallasite Jack Daniel was seen widely for the first time. Taken just as the motocade exited from the west end of the Triple Underpass and entered Stemmons Freeway, this film clearly shows that both the presidential limousine and the Secret Service backup car had passed Curry's lead car and were leading the reace to the hospital. ( MY SHOUTING) HOW COULD WASHINTON-BASED AGENT GREER KNOW HOW TO FIND PARKLAND, AND MORE IMPORTANT, WHY DID HE STATE IN HIS COMMISSION TESTIMONY, '' I NEVER PASSED CURRY'S CAR....I WAS LED TO THE HOSPITAL BY THE POLICE CAR WHO WAS FOLLOWING ME"? The next paragraph in Crossfire summarizes the point: Either these highly trained agents panicked and forgot what actually happened that day, or they lied about it. MY SHOUT AGAIN SINCE THE DANIEL FILM CANT LIE, THE QUESTION REMAINS, HOW DID GREER KNOW HOW TO REACH PARKLAND? Peter, The testimony is not accurate. I believe Greer followed the two motorcycle cops leading the motorcade to Parkland. I recall one was a sergeant and he was upset about the Presidetial limo tailing the motorcycles at a very close range to Parkland. I believe Curry's car was behind the 2 limo's and motorcycles, a short distance away. Antti
  6. The first fellow on the right (front) sure looks like Virgilio Gonzalez, no? ¿Quien Sabe? http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKgonzalezV.htm
  7. James or anyone. Do you think Sylvia Odio or her sister could possibly ID the Angelo and Leopoldo within the existing photos of the A.C. Cuban community. I suppose that both or one of the sisters is still alive.
  8. Perhaps Walker was there to observe the camellia's. A bit odd that he chose to travel there in November. I am curious though about any connections between the two Edwin Anderson's. I bet there are some.
  9. It may be a long shot, but what are the chances that Edwin Anderson Collins and Edwin Anderson Walker both associate in right wing circles and both likely are in Dallas at the same time.... Any chance that they might be related....? Where was E.A. Collins born? Where was E.A. Walker traveling on or about 11/22/1963? Hmmm.......
  10. Done! Multiple times on this forum. Bang-------------------5.85 seconds--------------------Bang------1.9/2.0 seconds----Bang Z204/206-----------------------------------------------Z312/313----------------------Z349/350 Tom, Or anyone. What was the speed of the Zapruder camera (Frames per second)? 16 or 18? How do you explain that 2 seconds are enough to "recycle" the MC and regain target? I don't think that is enough time for even a semi-accurate shot, especially when considering it was a moving target. Well, it's just my opinion. What do others think?
  11. Decker and Walthers, father and son?
  12. Johnson was in Finland for 3-4 days. He went to Lapland (Rovaniemi) and to Turku, in addition to being in the capital Helsinki. During his visit he distributed pens to the public. Many here thought this was bizarre as we had an ample supply of pens at that time. However, in neighboring Russia they may have been rationed. I guess the State department gave him some bad information. Some pics of Johnson's visit to Finland and some other pics of Government official's visits to Finland over the years (link below). President Urho K. Kekkonen was Johnson's host during his visit here. http://finland.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/041_048tt8393.pdf
  13. I don't know for sure either. I'd guess that the used torture methods have shown to have the desired effect and are likely also more cost effective. Perhaps medical staff would be required to administer sodium penthanol, whereas torture does not necessarily call for medical training - or very much training at all.
  14. Moderators here do not allow five separate postings on the same topic. It likely will be combined into one topic. I suggest that moderators read all the postings for ad hominem attacks, which are allowed on the Yahoo board, but not here. Jack I will discuss the fact of having 5 separate posts on the same subject with other moderators to see if merging these is required. Based on other mod's views they will either remain as is, or be merged into one. If there are ad hom attacks on this Forum, I, or one of my fellow moderators will deal with them on a 'one by one' basis. I will not, however, venture into other discussion boards or forums to read and/or analyse ad hom attacks. Also, please feel free to report any such violations via the report function.
  15. This is what they say in the paper about where it is "coming from". "The general line the paper takes is one that relates calmly to world events. Our purpose is to bring to light various issues and topics, not to go into the tabloid type writing........."
  16. John, The paper enclosed is indeed a Finnish underground paper, apparently from the 1970's. Is there something in particular you are searching for? (Sorry I have not followed this thread so closely). Seems like the issues covered in "Tähti" range from music, to cartoons, to human rights issues in Nepal.
  17. Tom, be careful about posting publicly available contact information on various interesting persons. You will be reprimanded, and the post may be set as invisible or it may even be deleted.
  18. Several members objected to something I posted on this thread: http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.ph...80&start=80 Yet, no one filed a report. Why not? That is how the system is designed to work. This time we had to rely on other moderators reading this thread and picking up the protests within numerous posts.
  19. DUKE: "I don't need his testimony for that, either. I should point out, however, that I had no particular axe to grind against Carr when I started to look into his deal; indeed, I'd actually been looking at disproving someone who (I'd heard) said that he'd been "in the building where Carr was," had "looked out" and not been able to see what Carr had said he'd seen. " It would be interesting to know whom you are talking about, as well as exactly what they claimed to have (not) seen.
  20. Just to add a little of my personal opinion. The obituary clearly is that of the same Richard Randolph Carr, that is, the man who witnessed the JFK assassination and who also testified at the Clay Shaw trial. I base my opinion on the following information known about him (RRC): Exactly the same name Age must be pretty much correct Same profession Same military background (so far we can confirm WW2) Ties to Texas, as stated in obituary Ties to Georgia, as stated in obituary What remains is to clear up the last few uncertainties regarding his background. Hopefully Duke can help us out.
  21. Duke, Thanks for going through the trouble of obtaining RR Carr's obituary and typing&posting it here. Here are my questions to his next of kin: 1 What branch or unit of the army did RRC serve for during WW2? 2 (Depending on reply to 1) Do they have any photos or documentation they could share with us to clear up his Ranger status? 3 What are your most vivid recollections of RRC's testimonies regarding the JFK assassination? 4 As, I understand it, RRC was a victim of physical violence due to the fact that he made statements about what he had seen in Dallas on 11/22/63. Do you agree that these assaults on him were connected to his testifying? 5 Can you reiterate what RRC said about the events that occurred in Dallas during and immediately following the assassination? 6 Is there anything in particular, that you think researchers should know about RRC and the Dallas events? AMH
  22. Duke, On another note: I'm sure the Newspaper will deliver what they said they had on him. I'm just wondering how a letter can take more than 5 days to travel from WV to TX? I recall that packages sent to/from Europe, will normally arrive on the other side of "the puddle" (door to door) in 4-7 days. Hmmm... talk about "snail mail".
  23. Agreed. That was all I could find on the internet on this issue. True. Carr was wrong about this. See below. Yes, 13 doesn't fit, Carr's statement about the events of the 5th Battalion does not jive with the known facts. I will allow for the moment that Carr misspoke about the (3rd vs. 5th vs. 6615th Force) unit and probably meant by "annihilated" that the enemy had beaten the battalion by killing a few and had taken pretty much all the rest of them as prisoners. However, I agree that one would think that those who were part of that unit, would have these facts straight. I know that my description in an earlier sentence does not explain the word "annihilated" properly. You're probably right about this. The fact that Carr didn't state the historical record of the 5th battalion correctly as well as the fact that his name is not in the roster, do definitely support the idea that Carr exaggerated his military experiences in WW2. At this point, with the facts you have gathered it certainly seems like he may not have been a Ranger. However, It'll be interesting to see what information we could gather from Myrtle and/or the other next of kin. Perhaps they still have a WW2 era "Ranger" badge of his, and some photos of his lying around. The roster may also be incomplete for some reason. Who knows. If somehow Carr's Ranger background did turn out to be correct, it would definitely add to his credibility, unfortunately, the opposite applies as well. It'll be interesting to see what else we can find out about him.
  24. Duke, I'm 99.9% sure that the man we have been researching, born in Georgia 1922, enlisted in the Army in GA, and passed away in 1996 is called Richard Randolph Carr. As I explained in a post of mine earlier, this information was available through people search, accessible through whitepages.com. I commend you on your efforts in trying to establish his Ranger status. I still provide for a 10% chance that the man we have researched is a different Richard Randolph Carr, than the one who lived in Tx, and witnessed the JFK assassination in 1963. However, if that is the case, we are indeed in square 1 for establishing his credibility & learning more about his background. In a previous post I attached links to on-line writings on Ranger history. In WW2 a special force was established prior to Anzio, this was the called the 6615th Ranger Force. As I recall it was a unit formed of several Ranger and other units. Also this: Nevertheless, I agree with you that it is quite strange that Richard R. Carr's name could not be found among the Rangerroster.org database.
