  1. How Trump Sold Failure to 70 Million People The president convinced many voters that his response to the pandemic was not a disaster. The psychology of medical fraud is simple, timeless, and tragic. https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/11/trump-voters-pandemic-failures/617051/
  2. Or maybe Biden can convince Prince Mohammed Bin Salaami to invite Trump to the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul for an impromptu buzz cut... 🤥
  3. Cliff, This is a tough one. I'll go with Iggy Pop's dissonant theme song to Repo Man, which I kind of like. I've never really liked Iggy Pop's stuff, but he co-wrote China Girl with David Bowie, and I like David Bowie's version of that song.
  4. Hitler and Mussolini also had big crowds. Trump a Democrat? That's simply absurd. Trump is a plutocrat, running a kakistocracy, in the guise of a populist. His policy decisions have all been predicated on bribery-- optimizing his own interests. In fact, I sincerely believe that Sheldon Adelson, et.al., could still effectively bribe Trump to bomb Iran, if they were so inclined.
  5. Speaking of turning news organizations into propaganda outlets, after reading that OAN called California for Trump, I think OAN should be dubbed the "Orwellian American News" channel. "Yesterday we were at war with Micronesia, today we are at war with George Soros and SCYTL," etc
  6. Cliff, De gustibus non est disputandum, ("No dispute in matters of taste") but have you had your hearing checked? As a musician, I have always been greatly impressed by the song-writing and artistry of Sting, Bono, and the Edge. If I recall correctly, Rolling Stone called U2 "the band of the 80s." As for the Police, they were a bona fide "super group," IMO -- three very talented musicians. I don't know a lot about their origins, but I know that the Police performed at the Rat in Kenmore Square before they went platinum. Unfortunately, I didn't see that show. FWIW, here's a Wiki paragraph on the subject of the Police and London's punk rock scene. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Police The Police's power trio line-up of Copeland, Sting, and Summers performed for the first time on 18 August 1977 at Rebecca's club in Birmingham in the West Midlands.[20] A trio was unusual for the time, and this line-up endured for the rest of the band's history. Few punk bands were three-pieces, while contemporary bands pursuing progressive rock, symphonic rock and other sound trends usually expanded their line-ups with support players.[21] The musical background of all three players may have made them suspect to punk purists, with music critic Christopher Gable stating, "The truth is that the band merely utilized the trappings of 1970s British punk: the bleached blond short hair, Sting in his jumpsuits or army jackets, Copeland and his near maniacal drumming style. In fact, they were criticized by other punk bands for not being authentic and lacking 'street cred'. What the Police did perhaps take from punk was a brand of nervous, energetic disillusion with 1970s Britain."[22] The band were also able to draw on influences from reggae to jazz to progressive and pub rock.[22] While still maintaining the main band and attempting to win over punk audiences, Police members continued to moonlight within the art rock scene. In late 1977 and early 1978, Sting and Summers recorded and performed as part of an ensemble led by German experimental composer Eberhard Schoener; Copeland also joined for a time. These performances resulted in three albums, each of them an eclectic mix of rock, electronica and jazz.[23] Various appearances by the Schoener outfit on German television made the German public aware of Sting's unusual high-pitched voice, and helped pave the way for the Police's later popularity.
  7. Two of the first (pre-MTV era) rock videos I ever saw-- on a giant screen at a club in Greenwich Village in (?) 1981. It was the weekend when I became one of the first U2 fans in America-- I had to study the end credits on the video screen to figure out the name of the great band performing, New Year's Day. It was the heart of the punk rock era, but neither band had "street cred" with punk rockers. 1) They were too musically gifted, and 2) they weren't bona fide nihilists. P.S. I bought a '78 solid body Guild S60-D electric guitar at a pawn shop in the early 80s, (which I still own) that looks like the guitar the Edge is playing here, except that mine has a rosewood finger board. Does anyone know the identity of the instrument?
  8. Pfizer applies for FDA emergency use authorization for coronavirus vaccine https://www.axios.com/ Pfizer and Germany's BioNTech said that they applied on Friday for an FDA emergency use authorization for their coronavirus vaccine. Why it matters: This could set the stage for initial vaccine distribution in the U.S. by mid-to-late December. It also comes less than two weeks after Pfizer released efficacy data for its vaccine, and just days after releasing safety data — which suggests that fellow vaccine developer Moderna may apply for its emergency use authorization around Thanksgiving.
  9. Incredibly, OAN has been telling their viewers that Trump won California, despite the fact that Biden had a 5,000,000 vote lead out there the last time I looked at the numbers. This OAN conspiracy has something to do with Wheeler's most recent "election fraud" posts about SCYTL.
  10. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really sick and tired of the Trump Sh*t Show-- four years of incessant lies, scams, heists, suppressed evidence, evasive legal maneuvers, and mob gas-lighting. We can't even hold an election nowadays without having it turn into yet another episode of the Trump Sh*t Show. No wonder all of the people who have worked and lived with Donald Trump can't stand the guy. His extreme narcissism is exhausting. Trump Targets Michigan in His Ploy to Subvert the Election In a brazen step, the president invited Republican state leaders in Michigan to the White House as he and his allies try to prevent the state from certifying Joe Biden’s clear victory there. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/19/us/politics/trump-michigan-election.html
  11. Detroit Asks Court to Issue Sanction After Trump Campaign Lawyer Used Court Filing to ‘Spread Disinformation’ https://lawandcrime.com/2020-election/detroit-seeks-sanctions-blasts-trump-campaign-for-using-court-filing-to-spread-disinformation/
  12. I notice that Rob "Newsmax" Wheeler neglected to mention the big real news story of the day from Wayne's World-- i.e., that Donald Trump personally lobbied GOP officials in Wayne County to block certification of the Wayne County votes. In related news, two GOP leaders from Michigan's legislature will be meeting with Trump at the White House this week, presumably to discuss electing false electors for Il Douche.
  13. Paul, I mentioned this issue of people doubting Prouty's credibility as a primary source witness because I recall reading some derogatory things about Prouty on-line several years ago, after reading his books. I had the impression that there was a smear campaign to impugn Prouty's reputation as a credible, informed witness against the CIA, similar in nature to the media smear campaigns against Jim Garrison and Oliver Stone. One source of the disinformation was McAdams.edu, and one of the memes (repeated on this very thread) was Lansdale's line about Prouty being a mere pilot, etc.
  14. Trump's ten counts of obstruction of justice in the Russia-gate scandal are critically important-- far worse than Nixon's obstruction of justice in the Watergate scandal. It amazes me that there has been so much denial about these crimes by Trump, even on this forum (e.g., our "Mark Zaid" thread.) To quote Weissman in the above article-- As for his conduct during the Mueller investigation, Weissmann explained that not prosecuting Trump for the ten examples of obstruction of justice would essentially make all special counsel investigations in the future pointless. “You have to remember in the Mueller report, there is substantial evidence that the president obstructed justice, in other words, obstructed the special counsel investigation,” he continued. “And to me, that’s even more important to vindicate. If you are not going to hold a president accountable for a special counsel investigation obstruction, then there’s no reason to actually have a special counsel in the future. In other words, the precedent that you’re setting in the future is don’t bother appointing a special counsel because there isn’t going to be any accountability for a president who obstructs that investigation.”
  15. It looks like people, generally, are still not taking Prouty seriously as an honest, primary source witness of the history of "the CIA, Vietnam, and the plot to assassinate John F. Kennedy"-- including his involvement in writing portions of the Pentagon Papers and the McNamara/Taylor Report. My question. Why? Why, for example, would people consider historians like John Newman, or others, more credible sources about events Prouty was involved in than Prouty himself? The implication is that Prouty was either dishonest, or lacking in discernment. Both notions seem inaccurate to me.
  16. I recall reading that Leon Panetta told Obama early in his presidency, "You can't just say, 'No,' to these guys" -- i.e., the CIA and the Pentagon brass. Does that ring a bell?
  17. Cliff, Small world! Your cousin Al ("AJ") was a big part of the Kamikazi Klones shows around here back in the early 80s. I remember AJ well, on stage, but never met him. (Evergreen is on a different planet.) He was not the Klone I once treated, but I shouldn't say more about that subject, in the interest of confidentiality. As for Stravinsky, Paul is the second professional musician I know of who is especially fond of The Rite of Spring. What a piece of work!
  18. How many more knock out punches to the cabeza can Wheeler take before the refs finally stop this fight? First it was weeks of posts about Joe Biden's alleged dementia, then about Hunter Biden's laptop. Now it's alleged election fraud.
  19. Robert, GHWB was always a CIA man. Joseph McBride (a member of this forum) played a key role in bringing that hidden history to light. As for Joseph Biden, here we go again, apparently. 'This Is How a Torturer Ended Up Running the CIA': Biden Reportedly Hopes to Avoid Probes Into Trump Crimes Mirroring Obama's choice to "look forward" not back, one critic said this a "preview of an epic failure" by the President-elect https://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/11/17/how-torturer-ended-running-cia-biden-reportedly-hopes-avoid-probes-trump-crimes November 17, 2020
  20. Dennis, Given the fire hose of Trump/RNC falsehoods about alleged election fraud, can you post a credible source for Wheeler's claim about a serial 100K to 0 vote tally in Pennsylvania? It sounds like obvious bunk to me. Meanwhile, it is a matter of public record (per my post here a few days ago) that the RNC has actively solicited false claims of election fraud from their base.
  21. Quite the scatological metaphor, there, Crna Gora... 🤥 But, I'm still curious about how these POTUSes (POTII?) end up kowtowing to the Deep State after they are elected. Trump never mentioned anything about 9/11 Truth after he was elected. And, much to my chagrin, Obama never looked into the Bush-Cheney chicanery surrounding the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
  22. Great stuff, fellas. I have been a big fan of the English Beat since the early 80s, when I saw Rick Wakeling, Ranking Roger & Co. in concert. (I've even recorded my own home-studio covers of a few Beat songs, which are surprisingly simple to play.) David Andrews' Flying Lizards' cover of James Brown's Sex Machine had me rolling on the floor. (I had never heard of the Lizards.) But let's not forget about the original robotic "New Wave" video of that era, which I first saw on a giant screen at a club in Greenwich Village in (?) '80 or '81, before MTV existed -- Das Model, by Kraftwerk. I think the club was called Rock City. (There was a similar club at Kenmore Square in Boston at the time, called the Metro.)
