Jones Day campaign contributions 2022:

Ben,

I trust that you're not naive enough to believe that these paltry Jones Day political donations are a meaningful metric of their right wing political agenda--especially in light of this week's remarkable NYT analysis of Jones Day's role in stacking the U.S. courts with reactionary Republican plutocrats.

Perhaps you should lay off the red kool aid for awhile and re-read that article.

As for your Cicero Institute article praising the merits of the disastrous 2017 Trump/GOP tax cuts for corporations and billionaires as "sound policy," please study the data about who actually benefited most significantly from that trickle down Trump/GOP boondoggle-- not based on rates, per se, but on actual dollars.

It was another massive GOP tax policy scam chiefly benefiting billionaires, foreign and domestic, while contributing to Trump's $8 trillion dollar budget deficit from 2017-2021.

Most law-lobbying forces in DC align with both major political parties. Some members of Jones Day may have tilted into the Trump Administration, but evidently regretted doing so.

But rest easy----

Jones Day Staff Gives More To Clinton Than To Client Trump

By Jimmy Hoover and Michael Macagnone | November 8, 2016, 2:17 PM EST

Donald Trump has given Jones Day millions in legal work, but donations from the firm's employees favor Hillary Clinton by a more than 70-1 margin. This article is the second in a four-part series.

Well, 70-to-1 suggests a tilt.

Jones Day Adds Top Obama-Era Justice Department Lawyers

After helping to stock the Trump administration with legal firepower, Jones Day brought on a pair of high-profile names from the Obama Justice Department, Benjamin Mizer and Shirlethia Franklin.

OK, some Jons Day are such reactionary right-wing nuts that Obama bigwigs sign up.  Well, money is not blue or red, but green!

Trump's Truth Social 'in significant disarray' as vendor accuses platform of stiffing them out of $1.6 million: report

by Sky Palma

https://www.rawstory.com/truth-social-2657943109/

“RightForge accuses Truth Social of reneging on its "contractually obligated monthly payments" for setting up the platform’s online infrastructure, sources tell Fox Business.

The company also says Truth Social made just three payments and ceased making payments since around March. RightForge says Truth Social now owes $1.6 million and is threatening legal action.”

He just can't help himself.

Mind blowing. Republican integrity.

We've owed $50,000 for years. Can barely just make the interest payments.

There are seriously no redeeming qualities about that slimeball whatsoever. Zero Zip Nada

And Trump's sleazy propaganda strategy of riling up the "working class" about student loan forgiveness appears to be part of a broader GOP propaganda strategy-- playing upon the resentment of working people who didn't have an opportunity to go to college, (while pushing and preserving GOP tax cuts for billionaires.)

Explosive report claims a phony Rothschild heiress infiltrated Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s inner circle

by Brad Reed August 26, 2022

https://www.rawstory.com/trump-mar-a-lago-spies/

“An explosive new report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette claims that the FBI is investigating a Russian-speaking Ukrainian immigrant named Inna Yashchyshyn who allegedly gained repeated access to former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort under a fake identity.”

“The partner testified in a court affidavit that Yashchyshyn used "her fake identity as Anna de Rothschild to gain access to and build relationships with U.S. politician[s], including but not limited to Donald Trump, Lindsey Graham, and Eric Greitens."

In fact, there is even a photo of Yashchyshyn at Mar-a-Lago standing on the golf course with both Trump and Graham.”

“Nonetheless, the FBI is still investigating her as a potential foreign intelligence threat.

Charles Marino, a former Secret Service supervisor, tells the paper that "the question is was it a fraud or an intelligence threat,” and then added that "the fact that we are asking this question is a problem."

And, so it begins.
