Antti, This has been tossed around on Lancer in the past. I totally agree with you that rifles were the weapons used in the assassination. The problem with Suppressors on rifles is that while they do quiet the intial detonation, they cannot quiet the bullet bow shockwave of a rifle caliber projectile in flight. This shockwave will still be a giveaway of shot origin if the wits are perceptive of what is going on around them. A suppressor will slow a velocity some eight to ten percent on the average and this is not enough to decrease the penetration level of the bullet on impact, unless the shot is of considerable range. What I mean by this is that the muzzle velocity has been comprimised and it will lose sustained velocity at a greater rate, but a shot within 150 yards should be effected very little. For this velocity to be compromised so greatly at impact to fail to have the penetration it had, it would have to have been disrupted rather close to the target or it would have had it's trajectory effected a great deal. Once the registered velocity is greatly comprimised, it will then begin to drop it's level of trajectory at a fast rate and it's accuracy is greatly comprimised. That is why I believe in windshield penetration to reduce the velocity to these extremes while not comprimising the trajectory. Windshield penentration will reduce the velocity in the range of 40-60%, depending on the configuration of the projectile and the angle of penetration. The only other factor in reducing penetration after impact would be the composition of the bullet. A compromised bullet that severely fragments will fail to achieve sustained velocity through the wound cavity, as the velocity is greatly compromised with the lighter the projectile (fragments of the projectile). But this would have created a tremendous amount of soft tissue damage within the throat, which was not evident at Parkland. Al Thanks Al. I recall John Ritchson saying the same thing about muzzle blast being suppressed, but the sockwave still causing problems in terms of an attempted disguise. The problem is that I am an historian. I therefore have to examine the evidence before I believe anything. There is no scientific evidence that there is a God. To be religious a person needs to have faith. It is something I do not possess. What I do believe is that Jesus was the world’s most important philosophical and political figure. In that sense, he did show us the way. Some like Martin Luther King has understood the meaning of Jesus’ message. Unfortunately, the vast majority of his followers have not grasped this and as a result have become the problem rather than the solution. Today I will be celebrating his teachings. I believe there are valid scientific reasons that suggest the existence of a God who designed the universe. But let's start with Jesus. If Jesus was raised from the dead, that certainly proves that there is a God. The transformation that occured in his followers following the resurrection (including their willingness to sacrifice their lives for their faith) is demonstration that they had witnessed proof of the resurrection. You are correct that Martin Luther King's life and teachings were based on Jesus' teachings--certainly more so than on Ghandi although Ghandi's non-resistance to evil and violence were also consistent with Jesus' teachings. You are also correct that not all those who claim to be Christians follow his teachings and are, as you put it, "part of the problem". I suggest, however, that another proof of the existence of God would be in lives that have been transformed after their acceptance of Christ. I would point out Chuck Colson's as one. He went from being a person who would "walk over his grandmother" for Richard Nixon to one who has selflessly dedicated his life to prison reform. There are, of course, many other examples of people whose lives have been dramatically changed. In any event, merry Christmas to you and your family (and all the members of your Forums). ________________________ Sorry Andy, it was the term "glaze over" that got to me as that is what always happens to me when I try to talk to people about this case. They just don't want to know. So it's terribly frustrating. Especially if they ask a question, then don't like the answer: ie the pat WC answer. It is important to ME because as a child I saw old men on tv, the pols, the news, it was all so boring. Then suddenly while reading a Superman comic book I was "introduced" to JFK. I had seen him on tv and could tell he was different. I guess I was about 10. Living in Canada with one tv station I did not get to see JFK much on tv, but then I went to stay with relatives in Boston. IN October 1963, at age 13. Kennedy was coming to speak in Dec. I was soooo excited. I just loved the man. It was so clear that he was DIFFERENT. In every way, his intellect, his charm, his amazing wit, his grace, his love of life and the human race. All of this was evident to me. Then came 11/22/63. (By now I was 14. 10/24/49) What can I say? John will tell you that it was an inside job, that was also clear to me day one. No JFK murder no Viet Nam, then no 500,000 dead and millions more lives forever ruined. (As a criminal defense atty for now almost 20 years I have seen the living victims of Viet Nam, in jail, on the streets begging for $, and dead at an early age from alcohol to drown out the horror they could not forget.) I read everything that year, living in Massashusetts from 10/63-7-64. Then back to home, Springhill Nova Scotia. I continued my "conversations with God" as no one I knew cared about the assassination and thought I was nuts for talking about it. When MLK and RFK were murdered I was still in Canada, but knew they were conspiracy too. I began studying the case in about 72,- (saw the Zapruder film at Democratic Nat'l Convention in Miami 72). I began meeting researchers in early 73 and have continued both,( study and meeting researchers), to this day. Some refer to this as my "hobby". I think obsession comes closer to the truth. Like Jack White I have come full circle: LBJ and Cronies. Very high up cronies. SOme call it the invisible government, others call it MIC, others (including Geroge Bush "41") "New World Order", whatever name you give it, all that matters is who did NOT kill JFK: LHO. ____________________________________ The German philosopher Carl Jaspers once wrote "We are all co-responsible for the way in which we are governed" (A Question of German Guilt).* Therefore the need for truth, justice, and restoration of some semblance of "democracy"- (if any has ever existed )- is what has drawn me to this case for now 41 years. This need, combined with hearing the lies from the media at the young age of 14, while being told in civics class that we have "a free press"....one contradiction after another. Hi Ron. Pig on a Leash is Liftons' extensive chapter in "The Great Zapruder Film Hoax: Deceit and Deception in the Death of JFK". If you are a fan of Liftons' work you have to read it. The insights into Davids' personal experiences in the early years of this case are worth the price of the book alone imo. The best read since "Best Evidence". Alan. PS.
