S.A. Geis says he believes the indentation damage to the windshield frame was done on November 11, 1961 ... over TWO YEARS previous to 11,22,1963?

In two years time possibly hundreds of personnel had to have been close to or even inside the limo. Maintenance men, drivers, let alone those who washed the exterior and cleaned the interior.  Are we supposed to believe that that many close up limo responsible people either missed such a starkly obvious ugly dent...or if they saw this, didn't think it was even worth mentioning?  The president's number 1 show limo?

S.A. agent Bill Greer himself testified to the Warren Commission he was in and around the car extensively. He stated he had to help dress the car in either snapping on or taking off the limo's fabric and bubble top.

He did so in the days right up to the Dallas visit.

When asked if he ever saw the indentation he stated he never did, until the day after 11,22,1963.

I think I saw a picture of the dent "once." Not sure of the source.

My recollection was that if I had a dent like that on the inside of "my" personal car right in front of me every time I drove, I would have seen and noticed it hundreds of times, and felt it was an ugly, unsightly and distracting flaw.

And if I really personally cared about my car and could afford it, I would have had it repaired.

I just can't see federal employees responsible for JFK's most showy public parade car dismissing a dent that obvious if their job was to keep the car in immaculate tip top shape.

    Well said!

I'll have to get both books! It looks like there will be at least four new JFK books on my reading list in the next few months.

The best thing about Bugliosi is that he sabotaged himself. I guarantee you that not a single person new to the case read that thing all the way through from beginning to end. They might have made it through the shorter version, but the original? No way. It's fascinating to me that he spent all those years writing it and ended up with such an unreadable mess, especially since he should have known better. His publishers could only find the strength to stand up to him after publication, when his failure could no longer be ignored.

    Thanks!

Regarding Bugliosi: yes- the obscene length of his book was his downfall.

    Hey, Vince

I added a hundred or more photos and gifs to my website over the summer, and continue to add some each week. In any event, one of the things I stumbled on surprised the heck out of me. While looking at some obscure European news footage of RFK's 1964 trip to Poland, I spotted something which is even more ironic than McIntyre riding in the back-up car for Ford.

It was that RFK rode on a Lincoln through the streets of communist Poland. And not just any Lincoln, mind you. But the same year (I believe) as the Lincoln in which his brother had been riding. And when I say on a Lincoln, I mean ON a Lincoln. As if to say, I'm not afraid, I know my brother wasn't killed by a communist, RFK and Ethel rode on the ROOF of the limo as it rolled through the streets of cheering Poles.

    Here's a screen grab.

Hi, Pat! I will have to check out your (outstanding) website again; thanks.

Wow---ok, I have never heard of this, much less having seen a photo of it. I agree with your assessment. See my other post from last night: RFK rides with LBJ in the actual refurbished death limo.

  4. Another myth debunked: "presidents never rode in an open car after Dallas." There are many photos of LBJ riding in an open limo in 1964 (and even, off and on, 1965-1966), not to mention Presidents Nixon-Bush Senior riding in a limo with a sun roof compartment.
The agent who looks like Hoover is Stu Stout. The other agents are Bob Faison (African American), Hank Rybka (driving), Ham Brown, Ron Pontius, Lem Johns, and a couple hidden for identification. That is Governor Pat Brown of California and Pierre Salinger riding with LBJ. September 1964. NOTE: Abraham Bolden was the first African American on the White House Detail; Faison was the second.

Did the SS fear the Order of the Orange in Ireland, but let Greer stop the limo in Dealy Plaza?

Re reading Vince's  portion on Warner in Survivor's Guilt.  "went on to have a long career in the CIA".

I have more to say about this in my upcoming book.

Yes- Warner was in the CIA for quite a while!

This TV footage of JFK's 1963 Dublin motorcade on O'Connell Street shows

the standard flatbed truck with still and film photographers

preceding the presidential limousine, motorcycle policeman

riding en masse before the limousine and flanking the limo on

both sides, etc. In Dallas, as we know, the motorcycle cops

were removed from the sides of the limo by the Secret Service,

and the flatbed truck was removed from the motorcade at

Love Field by Secret Service Agent Roger Warner. https://www.rte.ie/archives/exhibitions/1722-john-f-kennedy/391584-president-kennedy-motorcade-through-dublin-city/?fbclid=IwAR3hTRdpZe_WK83jQYIVjZO7o9DCXB2o91Eo--kNpLDpxNezOY3JRT_CY98

See my Facebook Ireland photo album, my You Tube channel and my third book for other segments of the Ireland trip: agents rode on the limousine and the bubbletop was used at times, as well. Building rooftops were guarded, as well.

Starting at about 19 minutes the part about Blaine's recollection about the route change is funny.  Was the route changed?  Well yeah I remember it was changed, but why.  I don't remember why.

The fact that his executive session HSCA testimony is still sealed is interesting.  I guess it's for national security or sources and methods.

His first ever vacation, was a "quirk of fate".

I'd forgot about Greer and the Order of the Orange.  Did he hate JFK enough to stop the car for a second to two?  Using the paint markers on the curb to know when?  The part on those markers, as range finders for shooters, is presented better than I've ever seen it, never saw that video of them before.

I've read about the no frontal press car before but this is once again better than anything I've seen on it before.  (about 35 min in).

45.45.  Six pages of threats in Miami.  0 in Dallas.  If you buy that, I've got some ocean front property in Amarillo for sale . . .

You mean Behn, not Blaine (common mistake because they sound alike) :)

Anyone interested in the Truth should watch this.  jmo

Thanks a lot, Ron. I am just seeing your comments now. I don't check in daily like I probably should.

    Thanks, Vince.

I hadn't seen that program before. I watched it last night. At one point, I would have considered it brave and cutting edge.  With some distance on the case, however, I now find it misleading, and fairly embarrassing.

I mean, I hope I'm not the only CT who thought it was mostly crap.

P.S. What's up with those "shots" found on the dictabelt that were added onto the Z-film? I'm fairly certain they didn't match up with the shots claimed by the HSCA acoustics experts. So where did they come from? Was this something Mack, Ferrell, and Groden were pushing in the 80's? If so, shame on them.

    My pleasure, Pat.

I agree---I found the program fairly "compelling" back in 1991. Now, I think it is crap.

Those "shots" added to the Z-film MAY be for dramatic purposes (similar to the ones found on Groden's 1993 JFK: The Case for Conspiracy). Still, very misleading to the uninitiated.

Well first off personally I certainly would describe LBJ as extremely corrupt, perhaps somebody said he wasn't with an intent to be sardonic, don't recall.

As to Ferrie, I suspect someone has called out as a shooter although I'm not sure exactly who.  I'll leave his importance to be argued by others.  Most of the discussion I recall had to do with the reliability of Jack Martin, the library card etc.  Not something I'm going to wade into - Ron, I'd suggest you go to the conference page and take it up with the speaker directly since most of the folks here won't have heard that presentation. The discussion of various presentations is still in progress there.

Larry, time for your trademark "grin" comment LOL:

The Ferrie-as-assassin story originated from this 1988 documentary (I immediately recognized it when you guys mentioned it):

    Yes, very well put.

Cut through my rambling post to a coherent message.

Yes, we living survivors who witnessed the JFK event coverage as it happened are riding into the sunset now. Our children and grandchildren will eventually be placing our JFK assassination books out at garage sales for 50 cents each.

Reminds me of seeing You Tube video interviews of toothless 100 year old Civil War veterans sitting in their front porch rocking chairs with hand held horn hearing aids and sharing random bits of their civil war memories with what ever passerbys will take the time to listen.

In the "hope springs eternal" category:

There are a few (perhaps quite a few) individuals who were two-years-old at the time of the assassination who do remember it, so there are actually people "only" in their fifties (albeit 59) who were of age then. :)

More importantly, I know several young people (late teens-mid twenties) who are very much into both President Kennedy and the study of his death.

This past anniversary did see the reruns of several assassination programs. Newsmax TV is airing episodes 7 (my episode) and 8 of The Men Who Killed Kennedy on a fairly regular basis (since 2019). CNN has been airing First Ladies: Jacqueline Kennedy (2020).

The internet (including Facebook forums) is hopping with interest and information on both JFK's life and death.

JFK is our last assassinated President and "only" 10 Presidents ago. The 11th will be Joe Biden, the first Catholic President since...JFK.

Biden and Trump were much aware of JFK in their youths, as they were young men when he served and was killed (even Obama was a toddler).

Millions of people still remember President Kennedy.

Caroline Kennedy is a living touchstone to those days.

The aforementioned internet keeps JFK alive via the many audio-visuals...and MANY of the digitized images have only been available SINCE 2008 ONWARD!! Before 2008, it was very slim pickings online (I know for a fact: I have been scouring the net countless times since 1996).

The vast majority of the very best books on the case are only from this century---the last 10-15 years.

The silly Ted-Cruz's-dad-knew-Oswald 2016 story generated a ton of media coverage.

The 2017-2018 JFK file releases generated a ton of media coverage.

Silly assassination tabloid news stories still greet shoppers at check-out lines.

3/26/20--MURDER MOST FOUL by Bob Dylan becomes a #1 chart-topper.

There are still two major conferences in Dallas every year. My virtual presentation drew about 70 live viewers and has 875 views in less than a week.

2021 sees both Josiah Thompson's book (January) and MY book (March) come out.

Ron, it sure does fit Lance's initials

BTW, I have to say if I have not already.  If you recall, when I asked Lance all those questions about how he would get certain pieces of evidence into court in the JFK case with all the chain of custody problems they entail, this is when he got really venomous. Said I was drooling on my keyboard, when in fact I was just reciting facts about the problems in the chain that most of us are familiar with.

It turns out that Lance consults with the Arizona authorities on just that area concerning drug busts. That is how to avoid chain of custody questions in court in the collection of evidence. So he likely knew about all these problems and how they would be called, in California, a 402 hearing.  Which is an evidentiary hearing done to measure whether or not  evidence can be admitted in court. Can you imagine trying to get CE 399 past a judge at a 402?  BTW, each state has its own name for these types of hearings.

    402 hearings

402 hearings are preliminary fact determinations to decide the admissibility of evidence. When the admissibility of evidence depends on the existence of a particular fact, that fact is called a “preliminary fact.” (Evid. Code, § 400.)  The ability to establish such a preliminary fact may affect the trial not only in substantive terms and determining what particular evidence is admitted, but also in terms of scheduling and practical considerations. Moreover, due process is a central component behind Section 400. If evidence is excluded, and a party does not have the ability to conduct or present evidence at a hearing regarding a material, preliminary fact, this is reversible error per se and will result in overturning the case. (See Kelly v. New West Federal Savings (1996) 49 Cal.App.4th 659.) Under Evidence Code section 402, therefore, parties are provided a means by which preliminary facts can be presented, typically outside the presence of a jury.
