  1. Michael Moore complains because we didn't get a single payer system like most developed countries have. I complain likewise. In our lifetime, we will not see an improvement of the ACA by a Democratic admin. Trump's best riposte was to cancel the penalty for not affording a plan in the 2018 tax year. Affordability depends on income, regardless of our needs in spending that income on things we cannot afford to lose or neglect. So an "affordable" plan was mooted in the case of many Americans, myself included. My net income is entirely expended on pre-existing necessities, and has been for years. It is a choice of healthcare or insupportable loss, followed by lawsuits and bankruptcy. We are too large and too ill-paid a country to go without single payer healthcare. To say otherwise is to say that every taxpayer is expendable. I'm going to set up a gofundme.com page. Perhaps supporters of the ACA will care to donate.
  2. In honor of the late Nick Tosches, il miglior fabbro, the entire article on Sidney Korshak quoted earlier in time on this thread, replete with reference to JFK and RFK, Jimmy Hoffa and John Roselli, Seymour Hersh and Dan Moldea: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/1997/04/The-Man-Who-Kept-The-Secrets Considerate la vostra semenza: fatti non foste a viver come bruti ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza.-- Dante, Inferno, Canto XXVI *** "As [Bill] Roemer knew, Lawford’s wife was Patricia Kennedy, one of Jack and Bobby Kennedy’s sisters. Jack was a member of the rackets committee, Bobby was its chief counsel. "Roemer called the bureau in Washington and told his supervisor where and with whom Bernice Korshak could be found that evening. “ 'Are you kidding, Roemer? They wouldn’t touch that with a 10-foot pole.' ”
  3. Sandy - I take it you can afford better than the Bronze Plan level? Even Michael Moore mentions it as a sore point of the Democratic Party in his presentation.
  4. Obama screwed us royally on the AHCA. I don't see Hillary offering a fix or a re-do, or even mounting a candidacy. So - same deal from her as pre-2016.
  5. Not near Buffalo, where I am. Cycled just now for 20 minutes without opening the home page.
  6. Jim - off topic - there may be a problem with the Kennedys and King site. I haven't been able to get in since late last night. It just keeps cycling but not opening.
  7. 1:17:37 in Rush, "Ah, several that I could probably name..." and following, where the upper-crust accent drops because she's asked a direct question about crime. Also the "mixed drinks" section afterward. It's an act. She has her hooks in Hamilton by now, and has to elevate herself above the run of Ruby's girls. It's a hooker trick.
  8. She's putting it on. You can hear her grand manner slip and slide. She heard it in a Katherine Hepburn movie. Delusional, but an act that took her far. Belongs in a James Ellroy novel.
  9. Steve, I getcha completely, and wasn't criticizing. I'm just saying, watch Nancy Perrin Rich on film and you get a sense of the Carousel-Ruby milieu, from a floozy putting on airs that approach the level of delusions. Seeing her coming on grander than Princess Grace helps color in her WC testimony. Here she is in Rush to Judgment at about 1:13:30, after her marriage to William Hamilton, owner of Inslaw: The Hamiltons and Inslaw: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inslaw Sorry to go off-topic, but I hope this puts Rich's "spooky meeting" in context.
  10. For me, the WC testimony of Nancy Perrin Rich is a metaphor of what happened. Some of the details vary, but all the basic elements are there. You've got Cubans and Colonels and the mob, and spooky guys sitting in the corner not saying much. It's all in there. Nancy Perrin Rich is a metaphor for involvements in herself. Watch her filmed interviews, in which what they used to call a chippie tries to come off as an Eastern society type. It's useful to see these to get the flavor of her WC appearance.
  11. The Crazy Days and Nights Version: Item #1 is perhaps Judy Garland. Item #2 is perhaps L*** M*******. Item #3 is likely Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. The manager in all three is likely David Begelman, who later shot himself after a scandal ousted him as a studio head. Today's Blind Items - Old Hollywood - Mr. X #1 - The permanent A+++ list singer and actress who was robbed blind by the agent, after she switched managers from her then husband to the aforementioned manager. The husband hired a tax auditor to look over her bank accounts, being that she spent money like crazy, and found that vast sums were disappearing. He went to confront the manager and his wife and was blocked from entering by goons posing as security guards. Of course the wife, being in an inebriated state, didn't believe a thing her husband was telling her and their marriage further eroded. Then, after a near fatal overdose in London, the manager threatened the iconic performer that he had photos of the star getting her stomach pumped in a hospital that he was threatening to sell to a tabloid... unless she gave him $50,000. Since she had a new TV project on the line, one that the manager got her, she forked over the cash. Several other similar incidents happened between the icon and the manager even after she dropped him. #2 - Speaking of the iconic performer, her eldest offspring was on the cusp of A-list stardom at the time when the previous BI occurred, and on her mother's advice she hired the manager too. Everything was going smoothly, until the manager called up the offspring and threatened to release photos taken at a party in Greenwich Village when she was very underage where she was clearly seen drinking, snorting what appeared to be cocaine and smoking pot.... unless she gave him $100,000. She had a potential career making Broadway musical on the line and like her mother she forked over the cash. However, she didn't get the part in that musical (after the manager told the producer of the play she was a liability) but eventually got to star in the film adaptation which she won many awards for. #3 - Many people forget that this alliterate A+++ list actress and sex symbol was a client of the manager. She indeed was, towards the end of her life. It abruptly ended after that Chicago mob boss had his goons, on order of the manager, take pictures of the actress drunk and passed out on a vomit-filled floor. The photos were taken a few days after the dalliance between the actress and the high ranking politician. Thankfully she had help in stopping the pictures from leaking. She placed a call to her singer/actor friend who was the owner of the resort she was staying at where the pictures were taken. He also hated the manager with a passion. He placed a call to the mob boss, and the photos were never leaked. https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2019/
  12. "This essay is adapted from “Touched by the Sun: My Friendship with Jackie,” to be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, in October." Touched by the Sun. Touched by the Sun.
  13. I wouldn't trust the press not to conflate Huber's statements about two different wounds into one wound, especially if the reporter was rushed and emotional, or Huber was emotional and indistinct. On the other hand, a small temple wound may have seemed "terrible" to the good father, seeing it on a young and famous man recently murdered. The fact that a priest giving last rites said anything to a reporter about a president's body suggests Huber was upset. Either way implies that the temple wound wasn't "terrible" by objective medical standards.
  14. I suspect that the audience for network and cable-network TV with commercials is in the boomer demographic, and may include younger people who are not internet oriented, or at least not attracted to CT on the internet. (Their vices being Zillow, Ashley Madison, and good ol' free porn.) So the MSM is preaching here to a choir seeking comfort and relief, chemical or political. Note all the financial and retirement planning ads as well. Lone-nut shows on the History Channel or NatGeo reinforce the assumptions of this class of influencers. "Teach your children well," somebody sang. Teach them to plan for retirement, while not giving in to depression. Something that Oswald guy couldn't pull off with his Marxist-Leninist claptrap. Psychological sets, somebody warned us?
  15. Richard Case Nagell said the ground forces were essentially rogue CIA ("not the CIA as such") and anti-Cuban exiles. Who pulled their strings is debatable.
  16. And the fact that Joshua Brown had been previously shot in another bad drug deal really leans the suspicion angle towards his death being a bad drug deal killing versus something more retaliatory regards his Amber Guyger court case testimony.. You may be right. Though I knew a president who got killed, and people said it was retaliation over some Caribbean misadventure of his. Others said that that plot got co-opted by his internal enemies.
  17. My feeling is that this is not being addressed because the attitude toward Blacks, and all civilians, comes from the attitude of trainers who are above local police forces. Plus idiocy, fear and privilege.
  18. Apparently all the usual suspects are Black: more horror in Texas today -- https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/10/atatiana-jefferson-white-cop-fort-worth-killed-black-woman-insider-own-home.html
  19. I can get non-conspiracy blather on any street corner. Why would I come here for it? I wish they still had store windows full of TVs playing day and night. I could stand there drooling like a feeb over the non-conspiracy news.
  20. Part of it may have been that the FBI had documents available showing that Marcello had entered the US illegally through Guatemala, and so could be swiftly deported there, But I agree - why do it if Marcello did not compel the DOJ's attention? Plus it was a shortsighted move by RFK, since Marcello was, after a little inconvenience, returned to the US by his or his peers' soldiers, and his operation was not appreciably dismantled in his absence.
  21. From my post at the beginning. The thing to remember about Nagell is that he'd been burnt many times. that he felt used and undercompensated by the government even before the JFKA, and that he responded to absurd, murderous situations with a trickster's absurdist humor. He was like a character out of Catch-22 come to life. (You can see all these aspects of Nagell, plus his intolerance for corruption, in the several document batches Malcolm and Bart have put up.) To Nagell, a journalist like Dick Russell, who was in those years just developing a political stance against conspiracy, may have seemed to be either one more con-job put upon him, or one more dead-end outlet for his experiences. Nagell had been through Garrison and Richard Popkin with little profit to him. I don't fault him for wanting to profit: he played a game of Chicken with the government and the intelligence services to gain minimal financial support, and have access to his kids again. He was nearly killed more than once for this. The real test for Nagell would have been an appearance before the ARRB, which Dick Russell helped to arrange. Had he appeared, we would have more knowledge of the JFKA, and a better sense of closure on Nagell's character. With all the problems negotiating Nagell's obscurities, I still give Nagell's revelations the great benefit of the doubt.
  22. Rich: From at least 11/22/1963 onward, we haven't lived in a true republic, much less a true democracy. Clear now, OK?
