  3. Thanks Dave for your video posts, i for one am always interested in them...... I did a bit of digging, and came up with the following information, not all i had at one time on Vivian but all i have for now...fwiw.. Then there is this information found.... From the Dallas Times Herald, 11/23/63 ""I SAW HIM DIE............ WOMAN CRIES.."" (Editor's Note: Mrs. Burney, head of the shipping department at Jennifer Juniors, was in the crowd at the corner of Main and Houston. She saw the President die. Here is her report.).. BY PEGGY BURNEY I saw the President die. I was standing at the curb on Elm about a third the way from Houston Street near the overpass..When the President's car made the curve around the corner, he was smiling and waving.. "" He was not standing, as I heard some reports say later. He was sitting, but he was happy and Jackie was happy and smiling as they passed. The car had passed about 15 feet beyond me when I heard the first shot. I did not realize it was a shot; I thought it was a backfire. The President ducked; instinctively I told myself "something is happening," but nobody knew what. Then I heard a second shot. I noticed that Jackie didn't duck - I could no longer see the President.. The car momentarily stopped, then veered slightly to the right and speeded off.. People around me were screaming; some were falling to the ground. I could not tell whether they were hit, or not - or just dodging. There was pandemonium. Everybody realized that the shots were coming from up high. People were running around cars and jumping over things.. Soon, all the buildings around here were locked - including ours. Squad cars converged. There must have been a hundred of them right away.. My employer, Mr. (Abe) Zapruder was making a movie at the time it happened. He is still with the Secret Service men. As soon as we were inside the building before any reports on the condition of the President, Mr. Zapruder had already told us ... "The President of the United States is dead." We saw him die..."" ******************************* Note: the Editor gives Peggy's location as being different that what she relates..? (Editor, corner of Houston and Main)..Peggy states she was on the curb on Elm, about a third of the way from Houston near the overpass..? Peggy Burney - See Dallas Times Herald 11/22/63 page 19; Dallas Times Herald 11/23/63 page 10; Also Six Seconds in Dallas (270) Witness to assassination standing on Main Street 1/3 way from Houston overpass. Vivian Castleberry. (1922 - ) Ms. Castleberry was the women's page editor of the Dallas Times-Herald for twenty-eight years beginning in 1956. She broke new ground with exposés of a county foster home and stories about battered women, child abuse, and incest at a time when most newspapers ignored such issues. She was the first woman named to the Times-Herald editorial board. Castleberry has won numerous awards, including two state (Texas) UPI awards and two J.C. Penney/University of Missouri awards…..She was also Peggy Burney’s cousin…. Snip: "But after I got back, I got a telephone call from my first cousin who was the assistant to Abraham Zapruder who took the photographs of the assassination. And when Peggy got on the phone, she said to me, "Vivian, I saw a president die today." I said, "Peggy, don't say another word until I put a piece of paper in the typewriter." And I got her first-person story through sobs. And it never saw the light of day. And this was a woman who was standing at Zapruder's left elbow while he was handling the camera, and she was holding the extra film, and she was holding, you know, the tape, and she was doing all these things. Kasper: And you think it didn't make the paper just because there was so— Castleberry: Oh, there was too much. There was too much volume. Just too much. I don't think that was anything that was calculated or it certainly wasn't done to—it was just a good story that never saw the light of day. "" http://npc.press.org...oral/cast2b.htm.. Vivian Castleberry & Peggy Burney On Saturday Nov. 20th 1993...there was a conference in Dallas, as well as the ASK symposium, at the Southern Methodist University called " Reporter's Remember: 11/22/63. Below is from a little book that was printed in relation to the conference.. Published by Darwin Payne "Reporting the Kennedy Assassination". Page 55.. ""Vivian Castleberry: “Because when I got back finally at three o'clock that afternoon at the paper, it was bedlam and it was organized chaos at the Times Herald. But about between 3 and 4 o'clock, I had a telephone call from a first cousin. And her first words to me were, "Today I saw the President die.” And I said "Peggy don't say another word until I put a piece of paper in my typewriter." And she quoted to me almost in exact detail what Mary (Woodward) has already told you. The interesting thing was that Peggy was Abe Zapruder's direct assistant, and so far as I know she was never interviewed by the Warren Commission.( no she was not) She was standing next to him when he took the famous film and was holding some of his camera equipment even while he did it. I thought that was a fascinating detail that maybe you would be interested in."" ****************************** Also from Sheldon Inkol "The Fourth Decade" Jan.94..vol no.2..Who was present at the "Reporters Remember" Conference. Having slipped away from ASK.. Vivian Castleberry: Dallas Times Herald revealed that her first cousin, Peggy Burney, was Abraham Zapruder's assistant ...."And was next to him when he shot his famous film, she called and said, "Vivian, today I saw the President die." Castleberry's statement went unchallenged.. Sheldon Inkol also, in an email, has mentioned, that she seemed to have left immediately after all the presentations, that she was not present and he does not know if any of the others managed to speak with her.. B Florida Prof Unearths Sixth Floor Museum Talks by Dallas Journo Legend Vivian Castleberry http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2010/07/florida_prof_unearths_sixth_fl.php BTW i noticed on another link in google, that she has just celebrated her 90th birthday, i did try to contact her ten years ago, but received no reply, she was 80 at the time and i was told she was not well, so i did not bother her again...b also i have never been able to locate any further information on, Peggy Burney...I was hoping, that through Vivian I may have been able to trace Peggy, but it was not to be....b

  9. Terry; here is further older information, fwiw; on Bob Jackson...from an old post, somewhere...in the past.. I did go and listen to that program and got some notes for you, about Bob Jackson the photog.. He said when the shots went ,he heard three, all seemingly from the area of the TSBD, he saw just the end of the rifle being withdrawn, nothing more.. He was sitting next to Dillard on the back of the seat, and D got out of the car, as the car was at the TSBD, he says he saw a motorcycle cop jump his bike, ( here it is again) up over the curb, he let it go and it just fell) he then ran back to the TSBD, and he saw a motorcycle and a ordinary DPD, run into the TSBD right away... He said, he then stayed in the car as he had just given his film at the corner of Houstin and Main to a pick up, and had not loaded his long lens camera as yet.and there he was stuck with a wide lens, which in that situation was not of much use......He stayed with the car till it got just under the freeway, then got out, he then didn't see anything really that caught his attention at the plaza, people all upset and telling him that the Pres had got hit, then he was with two other photogs, and they did n't have a ride, so they asked a lady, in a little coupe, and she took them.....but he says that within minutes the DPD were lettiing the traffic through, they never held them back and he was surprised as it was a crime scene and should have been cordoned off immediatley, and for days..... When they got under the underpass and up on to the freeway a motorcycle cop stopped them, he would not let them through, the one man was a UPI I think he said, photog assigned to the WH detail, I believe and then he did, but while talking to him convincing him, they could hear his radio and they were asking where did the shots come from, and he said to this cop, what he had seen of the TSBD, he said they visited him that night, the FBI first I thnk then the SS.....but he says that is all he saw, could not see anyone ..he thought the shots came spaced that the rifle could have been reloaded..... On Sun morning he went some early to the DPD, they had been told they were moving LHO at 930.....and they waited, he got called back as Nellie was giving an interview, when LHO was late, but he wouldn't go, and that got straightened out and they sent someone else.....He said he just walked in the door, there was no security. They then took them down to the cellar entrance, and he said there were about 30 of them gathered, now I don't think at all he could have meant, including DPD...don't know??.not clear....he said the armoured truck would not come through, so it sat up there...said they were not to move around... They brought him out, Ruby jumped in front, he had his camera ready, he didn't realise what was going on, thought this guy was going to ruin his photo, but when shot went off he clicked the camera......said he was lucky all fell into place as far as that went. He says they took LHO and Ruby into the building real quick....They did not cordon off another crime scene, two major crimes scenes they never bothered to protect. He said he saw no blood on the floor, none on LHO and none of any of the officers.. The man who found him like and arranged for the interview his name is Brian David Anderson, .....his neighbor was Dr.Baxter that treated both JFK and LHO...he said Baxter told him that the bullet wound in LHO went upwards, he thought a 70% angle maybe....and though all were told he bled to death internally, when they put LHO in the ambulance, he took a photo of LHO and his sweater is up, we have seen it, anyway, there was no blood on his stomach, or on his sweater and it looked like nothing was soaked in blood, Dr.Baxter told him when he arrived at Parkland, he was bleeding profusely, They are both going to Dallas in Nov, and this Brain is hoping, there will be others there that can clear up some of this...
  10. Terry here is a 2006 article on Jackson, you may be interested in as he relates his information re the rifle being withdrawn as well as other comments in relation to the assassination and the murder of LHO...b fwiw... Photographer Who Snapped Infamous Oswald Photo Said "No Blood At Crime Scene." Bob Jackson, former photographer for the Dallas Tiimes Herald who captured on film Ruby shooting Oswald, reveals for the first time on American radio he didn't see a speck of blood on the body or at the crime scene. 20 Oct 2006 By Greg Szymanski For those JFK assassination researchers and truth seekers, a startling revelation was made on American radio Thursday, as Bob Jackson, former Dallas Times Herald photographer, made public for the first time that there was "not a speck of blood anywhere" on the body or at the crime scene when Jack Ruby supposedly shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Jackson was on assignment for the Dallas paper on the morning of Nov. 24, 1963, when Oswald was being transferred from his holding cell and snapped the picture "seen around the world," a Pulitzer Prize winning photo of Oswald grimacing with Jack Ruby fully visible with pistol in hand, shooting Oswald. After 43 years, Jackson told listeners of Greg Szymanski's radio show, The Investigative Journal, he witnessed no blood on Oswald after the shooting, as well as "not a speck of blood" at the crime scene leading all the way to when Oswald was put in the ambulance. "I sure did think it was strange not to see any blood whatsoever," said Jackson, whose award-winning photo was later published first on the Times Herald front page and then in the Saturday Evening Post. "I stayed on the scene well after Oswald was taken away in the ambulance and I never did see any blood, not one drop." Jackson's startling revelation adds fuel to the fire of researchers who claimed Oswald was never shot by Ruby, but later killed by CIA operatives in the ambulance after Oswald was sedated against his will. Jackson's testimony, never before released in the American media, backs up other researchers who claim Oswald and Ruby faked the shooting as a part of an undercover operation designed to eventually eliminate Oswald's knowledge of the real JKF assassination team as well as his part played as the government's patsy. "Oswald probably was told to fake the shooting and then was double crossed by Cia operatives who killed him in the ambulance in order to eliminate any loose ends in the Kennedy assassination," said one researcher who claims Oswald was used as a patsy. On the Investigative Journal, Jackson was joined by researcher Brian David Andersen, a long time JFK truth advocate, who said Jackson's testimony gives further credibility to the discrepancy to the type and angle of the wound reported in Oswald's autopsy and the angle of the gunshot would captured in Jackson's photo taken as Ruby supposedly fired the pistol into Oswald's chest. "The bullet should have went straight through Oswald if you look at Bob's photo, but later the attending physician said the angle of the bullet was at an upward angle" said Andersen after he questioned Jackson on the radio show, indicating the possibility that Oswald was actually shot after he was placed in the ambulance. "The absence of blood also indicated this to be a real possibility." Regarding the Kennedy autopsy, Andersen was also privy to inside information, showing the final doctor's report used by the Warren Commission was rigged. "When growing up in Irving, Texas (suburb of Dallas) my neighbor was Dr. Charles Baxter M.D., the Parkland Hospital coordinating surgeon on John Kennedy," said Andersen. "On November 23 1974, while I was photographing a hand surgery being conducted by the doctor, Baxter explicated and thoroughly detailed all of the events that occurred related to him regarding the treatment of Kennedy that was purposely excluded from the Warren Commission Report. The truth is so more outlandish than any kind of fiction." In the radio interview, Jackson added that he was also present in the presidential motorcade ? seven cars behind the lead vehicle - the day Kennedy was shot, hearing three distinct shots coming from the direction of the book depository. "I looked up after the shots and saw a rifle being pulled in from the window but I couldn't make out who it was," said Jackson . "I also remember seeing two police officers run right into the book depository and remember thinking who ever fired the shots never had a chance of getting out of the building without being caught or killed." Regarding the Oswald photo seen by tens of millions of people, Andersen set the scene as it took place in 1963. "In the basement of the Dallas Police Department on November 24, 1963 were two photographers. Jack Beers pointed a twin-lens reflex camera while working for the Dallas Morning News and took a photograph of Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald "One sixteenth of second after Jack Beer pressed the button on his camera, Bob Jackson with a 35mm camera and working for the Dallas Times Herald, pressed the button on his camera. "Beers immediately returned to the darkroom and processed his photograph that was instantly sent out on the wire services around the world. Everyone who witnessed Beer's photograph for the next two hours stated he would win the Pulitzer Prize. "However?But...Also...and Hold On! "The City Desk of the Dallas Times Herald ordered Bob Jackson to remain in the basement of the Dallas Police Department for over an hour and half therefore his film was not processed until two hours after Oswald had been shot. "After Jackson's picture was printed in the darkroom, Felix McNight, managing editor of the Times Herald shouted and stomped his feet as he tried to describe the fantastic photograph to the photo editor of Life Magazine but to no avail?the magazine was under a tight publishing deadline and the Life editors believed they had the best photo therefore Beer's photo was published in the most popular American publication in 1963. "Bob Jackson's photo was published on the front page of the Times Herald and in the Saturday Evening Post. Bob Jackson's photo won the Pulitzer Prize and numerous other awards and his photograph is an icon of American history. Jack Beer's photo became an almost forgotten footnote in American History by 1/16 of a second." Greg SzymanskiGreg also has his own daily show on the Genesis Communications Network. 11. This is called the "Costella Combined Cut". Everyone ought to know by now that the best available version of the film is one produced by John P. Costella, which has been improved by removing aspect ratio and pincushion distortion, filling in missing frames, and correcting their order at THE NEW ZAPRUDER FILM One of the first results of the Zapruder Film Conference was the discovery that the films available to the public, including David Lifton's "Z Film" (undated), the Macmillan CD (1993), Robert Groden's "The Assassination Films" (1965), and MPI's "Image of an Assassination" (1998), all differ significantly in the amount of information they provide. Even the best, MPI's "Image of an Assassination" (1998) does not include frames 155 and 156; does not include frames 208, 209, 210, and 211; has reversed frames 331 and 332; and also does not include (what ought to be) frames 341, 350, and (even) 486 (!). 13. i must again disagree with Valenti, as i know so many have in the past, before and after his death, as he ridicules the movie, and as well as most critics pile on their criticism of the many errors they see within the film, for their information within the book of the movie, everything within said movie is documented in the book, some may not agree with such but it is all there, if they would only check out a copy, before they let loose ..proving they know not of what they write even after all these years, i think critics write too much. but do not read enough, therefore not knowing the subject they are simply reiterating the given pattern what critics working for the w/c sponsors in the past have followed ..i wonder do they hand out prepared cards to say a new critic employee, this is what we write about so and so subject, oh about jfk the movie or assassination take card numer 48, hint always follow the standard information, it will get you anywhere within the business , as it did with Rather, they seem to hold him up as a fine example, never studying his information that proves he was lying..and still is..b...

  18. Dallas Diminishes JFK, His Legacy, And Those Who Care About Democracy - WhoWhatWhy http://whowhatwhy.co...bout-democracy/ ''Prof. Graham apparently cannot fathom that long-time fans, enablers and perpetrators of violent coups against democratically elected leaders abroad could possibly support or cover up yet another coup, albeit a domestic one, against a man they deemed a threat. The professor is also content to ignore the final report of the House Select Committee on Assassinations (1979), which concluded that Kennedy was most likely killed as the result of a conspiracy''.. Also, I hope your promised series of articles on the assassination will include something more useful than a detailed debunking of a conspiracy theory that no one but the wingiest wing nuts has ever taken seriously I have been teaching courses at SMU on the assassination and its aftermath for 20 years. It really is possible to have interesting conversations about the controversies and the texts that have presented and prolonged them, and if anyone doubts that, my students and I will be happy to show you how it’s done. –Tom Stone, Dallas Curious about Tom Stone, I looked him up and found an article from the campus paper at SMU—Dallas-based Southern Methodist University– headlined “Students Study Kennedy Assassination.” It describes Stone’s class, in which he shows the work of another Stone, the film JFK by Oliver Stone. It quotes a student: “It was cool because you walked out of seeing the movie totally believing in this huge conspiracy theory,” junior Brian Fox said. “Then Professor Stone totally debunked the whole thing,” Fox said'' What will happen to these students when they start researching for themselves and discover that Professor Stone is oddly unaware of or uninterested in the veritable mounds of evidence that Oswald either was not the shooter or that he did not act alone? How will they feel about the trustworthiness of SMU overall, and the education it provides? '' Then we learn that SMU is to “Host Yearlong Series of JFK Programs on 50th Anniversary of Assassination”: Southern Methodist University will partner with the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the Sixth Floor Museum to host a yearlong series of public programs that will begin on President’s Day'' b
  19. Thank you Doug, Contains some very good, old i may say, reiterated questions, that have been asked so manys a time, on manys a board, down through the years, and still no real answers, it simply all comes off as being all too easy, the actions surrounding the courtship, the marriage, the leaving Russia, the easy entrance to the U.S..his re-entry,the loan of money's paying for the trip, the job given to him, by the TSBD that then just happens to be a building the POTUS is driven under, the only 3 shots for too many wounds, and numerous misses, his arrest, Ruby's entrance, LHO's death, Washington grabbing the evidence, the conclusion of the ''Lone Nut W/C theory, the restriction of the documentation etc etc etc.....all too ruddy easy wasn't it?? thanks interesting...take care b
