  1. Hey Stephen! It's kind of crowded in this room - glad you could squeeze in! Now there's a thought. The way in which the spy vs spy games were being played, it's hard to know who could have known what - however, in the case of Anthropoid, I think it's a fairly good guess that this one was kept close to the chest. Those guys were in-Country for months before finally executing on plan on the last possible day. Meanwhile, Heydrich, who was repeatedly chastized by his man Himmler for lack of security and precautionary measures, felt it necessary to keep up the pysch appearance by continuing to place himself in the spotlight as one unafraid. Himmler cared a great deal for his protege, however, as time went on, one can't help but wonder if he suspected Heydrich of seeking to rise to a position outside of Himmlers control and authority. Certainly his relationship with Bormann wouldn't have boded well - however, given the reaction to the assassination - I think that they were totally taken aback by it - clueless that it was going to happen. Just the madness that followed - plus the immediate reaction by Hitler [which wasn't carried out], and going by memory, I believe that Himmler wept when Heydrich died. I think that it's all an interesting spin on history, but the more it sinks in, the more I think that they just failed to save his life through wont of penecillin, and a Doctor who put too much faith in his abilities.
  2. Tim - have you read Palamara's work, 'Survivor's Guilt?' You can read it online, as per Healy's post, or I can send you a copy. On your first point - what you have stated is quite logical. I would of course like to elucidate a further response from you with respect to the opening of this second point: On what basis do you make this firm observation? Clearly there would be no argument on the closing of that point, aside from it's being an understatement: ..and finally... This would of course explain their behavior in guarding the corpse all the way to Parkland. This probably has already been covered elsewhere... Following the report of an SS man on the knoll, all of the SS were issued new ID and were put through some form of ID check - as per Palamara. There appears to have been an unsubstantiated possibility that one of the SS had their ID lifted while drinking their 'I only had one officer' grain alcohol at the Cellar. And then there is the possibility that Forrest Sorrels had someone deputized working security on the knoll, in addition to the possibility that Lem Johns was the man encountered in the area. http://hnn.us/readcomment.php?id=86542&bheaders=1 Yeah - so who were they? Why would Lem Johns have violated SS protocol by taking action? Why didn't the Queen Mary stop? Why didn't Greer accelerate after the first shot? Who selected the dogleg? Why the change-up in the arrangement of the vehicles on the motorcade? Who would have put the President's vehicle SECOND in the line-up? Where's the precedent for that? Why was Rybka forced out at Love Field? What was the PRS agent doing there at all? Who called the shot to allow the Pres and Veep to be present in the same motorcade? Who leaked the route details [Palamara got it as far as LBJ aid Bill Moyers who put it back on the SS]? Why were the normal SS agents not present for this motorcade? Why was Ready called back? Why did Kellerman brake the vehicle? Who provided the instructions for the DPD to stand down? Who had control of the evidence? Who lied - Yarborough or Johnson, with respect to Youngblood's 'heroic' actions? [i'll take Johnson]. Why weren't the press allowed the flatbed truck? Why weren't the press relegated to a position so far away from the President? Why was the President's physician located so far away from the President? What kind of moron does one have to be to select a hairpin turn / dogleg when this is assassination 101 training [ref, precedent: SOE training, 1941, Heydrich Assassination]. Why was Behn on his first vacation in three years during this significant event - Dallas? Why was Behn's HSCA testimony with respect to alternate routes supressed? Why were the SS made to take an oath after-the-fact not to talk? Why was Ready even there at all - you put a man who is a relative rookie on the President in DALLAS? Why didn't Ready ever step up to protect JFK's side of the Lincoln? Who authorized Roberts to call the shots at Parkland, when Kellerman was his superior? Why weren't the SS ever punished for the Cellar event? Why clean up the crime scene? Who violated the law with the removal of the body, at gunpoint? What about Gochenaur's claims about Malcolm Perry being 'talked' out of his original call of the throat wound as a point of entry? What about Moore's tirade? http://www.kenrahn.com/Marsh/Jfk-conspiracy/park2.html http://www.ctka.net/pr997-jfk.html Anyone have that Church committee document? and on and on and on... "The Secret Service was not involved in the plot" - please qualify...
  3. Greg - fantastic piece, begs many excellent questions - not sure which thread it was that you received the roasting on? Did you manage to get a picture of Piper? Is this him standing at the far right, in this Murray crop of the doorway of the TSBD? - lee
  4. Tim - I'll take 'Mallet Man' for Milteer over the other choice on Houston any day. BTW, there is already a 'Hammer Man' -- this is the individual so named [by Jack White?] walking across Elm during the aftermath with an actual hammer in his hand. Also, interestingly enough, one of the individuals seen here is possibly New Orleans business owner F Lee Mudd. - lee Well Lee - there can never be enough hammer men - you know ... just in case the rifles didn't do the job! Although I would think that the alterationist would have removed all the hammers from the assassination images. Hey Bill. Mainly the alterators seem to have removed people [and sometimes you have to wonder as to whom it was that would have been providing guidance] -however I believe some photos slipped through anyway to the dismay of many -- hammers seem to have been okay. The original 'Hammer man.' Not a good copy - I know I have a better one but no clue where it is. Not important anyway. BTW - not convinced myself in the 'mallet' concept. More likely a hat. I would image someone raising a mallet would have been noticed by an eye witness - but open to it. - lee

  6. One more on the Chisms. Willis photo crop. "A Negro snatched up his child and dashed off; a motorcycle cop jumped the curb, drew his gun and chased him." Newsweek, Dec 2, 1963
  7. Hey that sponsor's link to Ujena Lingerie is looking interesting. May have to click on that.
  8. May be the lens cap as seen in the extant zfilm - crop z355.
  9. Close up of the grass - many small white appearing items - it would be hard to try to call any of them skull fragments. Couldn't successfully find the furrows in the grass. May have found a lens cap indicated by the red arrow. Fun looking anyway. Took a hard look where Altgens was standing - just nothing conclusive. I added the tint to the curb line and to the grass.
  10. One more interesting crop...pity that these folks are so far away.
  11. My pleasure gents. Jack - not sure on that sidewalk person - I think it may be a shadow from the trees above. Robin's version gives you a larger perspective. Robin - interesting how my version has SOB man cropped out, and yours has Tague cropped out. Do you have a better view of SOB man - the individual at the far right? He's in a perfect spot to act as a signal man, and he sure doesn't look the same in the Cancellare as in Zapruder. Anyway - we could also work along the back of the other photo, which may or may not be a Cancellare. Some interesting stuff to look at anyway. - lee
  12. 'Pick-up man' and his colleague - enhanced, but without interpolation. Nice hat.
  13. Charles Brehm and son Joe, standing close to the polaroid backing.
  14. Possibly also taken by Cancellare - this represents the borders of the crop vs the total photo, with the detail at right having been removed. Too bad we can't get a closer look at the man at the far right. Does anyone know why the man in the white pants has been circled? The paper backing from Moorman's polaroid, seen in the Zapruder film as the white blob in the grass by Altgens, is also present in this shot.
  15. I don't know that the order will post the same...starting with the Pick-up at the right, then going all the way to the right and panning left. Pick-up. Three individuals - one in driver's position, two at rear behind bed. Practically every car in this shot has an occupant. James Tague at Underpass on Main St [far right of photo] Moving left - suitguy more left - guy in car more left - next car in line final visible in cropped version of Cancellare [minus SOB man] - Rambler? 1963 original print scanned at 360dpi.
  16. Hi John. What more do you have on this? In a nutshell, it has been my impression - based upon very limited digging and reading, that the rise of the Third Reich was made possible by a number of forces, including some of the Bavarian religious organizations, but also with significant support from US racists and World Population control freaks over here in the US - among them would be Ford and Rockefeller, along with a lot of other affluent and powerful individuals, who preached Eugenics, had many similar beliefs as those of Hitler and his supporters, and went on to support the Reich before [directly], during [collaboration and protection of collaborators], and after [ratlines etc]? Is that on the money for Dulles? - lee
  17. Lee, You say 4th floor window. I think the cop is looking out of a 5th floor though, and a window where one of the black fellows was earlier. Could be authentic. I wonder how the seller got this in his/her hands though. It's 4. I am asking the seller a few questions...if I had a spare $500 I would bid... And it's probably not a good idea to assume a black fellow was in any of these windows - we have only their conflicting reports after-the-fact, and Ball's clean-up job to go by. I believe that Ball's 'Dillard' exhibits are all reinactments. - lee
  18. Dunc - I couldn't disagree more. This is a 360 dpi scan taken from an original 1963 print. There are two individuals behind the pick-up. As always, I will send a copy to anyone who asks. - lee
  19. based on the ebay image, the windows appear blacked-out, I suspect the image is a fraud... no names, no dates, no camera make and model -- buyer beware! Hard to say - the window config is a nice match [open/closed]. The window where the cop appears is clearly open a bit more than in the Powers shot. I'll take this over the Dillard photo in terms of authenticity any day. - lee
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/JOHN-F-KENNEDY-PHOTO-D...bayphotohosting The trouble with the photo on the basis of the description is that it fails to capture the 6th floor at all. From a quick comparison, it has the appearance of an individual looking out a 4th floor window, three doublepaned window sets over from the east end of the building. Wish we could get a high res scan. None of the black guys appears in the 5th floor windows either. Another problem with this photo is the claim that it was taken 'shortly' after the shots were fired. I don't know what 'shortly' means - however, we all know the debate about how long it took Baker to enter the building, pause in confronting 'Oswald' [or not], then making his way to the roof. So if this is a Dallas Cop - this photo would then be several minutes old, unless this isn't a DPD cop in the window?
  21. thread... http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.ph...675&hl=UFOs
  22. Marcel...his theory is nuts. The Bothun photo shows that the white blob in the grass is the backing from one of Mary Moorman's Polaroids. I have posted the image numerous times. Jack Agreed - Moorman took a series of polaroid shots - Jack did a good job demonstrating that the object in the grass was one of the backings from the polaroid film following exposure. Plus a skull fragment of the size of the Harper would have been discovered by all of the folks seen examining the scene after the fact in aftermath photos. Also it is nowhere near where Harper claims to have discovered the fragment the following day. Finally it is nowhere near where Harper showed Don Roberdeau that the fragment was recovered. The 'nutty' part of any theory is one that suggests a fragment of this size could have come from the rear of the head and ended up where Harper indicated he found it - regardless of where the shot originated. Charles - Marcel is from Belgium. I think his English is first rate, especially considering it is not his first language. I also see nothing wrong with creating a word to communicate an idea personally. - lee
  23. Heard it. Not recently. This may have been one of Bull's little ploys to distance himself from the crime, based upon the way in which his devious mind appears to have operated.
  24. One of the most facinating elements of the history of the Third Reich and WWII concerns the resistance by the Czech exile Government, working closely with Soviet and British Intelligence in resistance of the occupation of Czechloslovakia following the putrid Munich agreement of 1938. Benes and Moravec, pressured to demonstrate the value of the Czech state, and to potentially offset the damage done by the colloborative forces who were only too quick to embrace the Nazi occupation of the 'Protectorate,' proceeded with a series of exile attacks on the Reich, through the form of paratrooper teams. On team in particular, known as Operation Anthropoid, was created for the sole purpose of assassination. Anthropoid consisted of two team members, Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcik. Working together with the Jindra underground resistance movement and other paratrooper operations [notably Silver A - Alfred Bartos & Josef Valcik and Outdistance, Adolf Opalka], Reinhard Heydrich was selected as the target, and the assassination attempt was made May 27, 1942. Running out of time, the team moved on May 27th, because Heydrich was to exit Czech, and take up responsibilities in Paris, the following day. In training and in reality, similar to the assassination of John F Kennedy, a hairpin turn was selected as the location for the site, as this would force the car to slow down to make the turn. One detail of the event is quite interesting, in that I can find little corroboration - the girlfriend of Gabcik, Rela Fafek, was alleged to have been part of the plan - she was alleged to have driven ahead of Heydrich, and provided key information to the hit team with respect to security; if Heydrich was accompanied by a Police escort, Rela would be wearing a hat. Rela was supposed to have preceded Heydrich to provide advance warning on that day, and her bonnet was on the seat beside her - signalling a lack of security. This is detailed by Jan Weiner, in his 'The assassination of Heydrich.' Upon receiving a hand signal by mirror from Josef Valcik, Gabcik stepped into the street with a British made and supplied Sten machine gun, covered by a raincoat. As the car containing Heydrich and his driver rounded the corner, Gabcik pulled up the sten gun and pulled the trigger. The gun failed to fire. He tried again with no success. Jan Kubis quickly stepped up to assist his friend, hurling a British made bomb at close quarters, which impacted the right rear of the Mercedes. There are some mixed reports here as to what happened next. Why Adolf Opalka did nothing, when he was positioned across the street, armed and ready to assist, is unknown. Why Gabcik and Kubis would not have finished off Heydrich with their handguns is another unknown. Gabcik's stengun failed to fire - it is believed that this was caused by interfering blades of grass - since the gun was transported in a brokendown state, ready for immediate assembly, but camoflauged in a briefcase filled with grass [since the German occupation, Czechs had begun to rely upon the raising of rabbits and other animals for food - it was not uncommon to carry grass to feed these domestic pets]. But is this really why the gun jammed? One version of the events that followed has Heydrich, wounded, leaving the vehicle and engaging in a hot gun battle with Gabcik, until Heydrich was unable to continue and returned to the car and collapsed. Another version has Heydrich exiting the vehicle, but rapidly deteriorating in condition and collapsing on the hood of the car. One version has Gabcik firing after Heydrich's pursuing chaffeur, Klein, hitting him in the legs - while another has Klein first chasing Kubis, who clears the area of spectators by firing in the air, and makes off on his bicycle when Klein's gun also jams. When Klein returns to the scene, Heydrich sends him after Gabcik. Gabcik runs first into a Butcher's shop, where he was quickly given away by it's owner. Discovering no other exit from the shop, Gabcik collided with the chaffeur in the doorway, and shoots him in the legs. On the last, the latter explanation seems to hold a lot of weight, since Heydrich was abandoned to his fate alone - until a pro-Nazi woman recognized him and began a panic to assist the Reich 'Protector.' Had Klein been able, one would assume he would have returned to assist the fallen Heydrich. Afterwards, Heydrich is taken to the hospital. Here begins the most contested piece of the puzzle. Shards of the bomb had penetrated Heydrich's side - unbeknownst to either Gabcik or Kubis [who suffered from flying fragments himself, and could hardly see to escape - which may also help explain why he would not have administered a coup de grace or eliminated Heydrich's pursuing chaffeur]. Heydrich is first examined by a Czech doctor, Vladimir Snajdr - but filled with mistrust even after being seen by the German director of the hospital, Dr Dick, begins to insist on a surgeon from Berlin. He settles for the top Nazi consultant in Prague, Professor Hollbaum. Dick and Hollbaum appear to have done a good job with the surgery, removing bomb fragments from Heydrich's spleen, etc, however, instead of improving, Heydrich's condition grows worse. Gebhardt, who appears to have been one of Himmler's doctors? Who is in charge of Heydrich's case, administers experimental sulphanomide to control the poisoning, as Heydrich develops peritonitis. He refuses to operate to remove the spleen. Large amounts of morphine are used, and repeated blood transfusions. Himmler flies to visit Heydrich on June 2nd. Heydrich expires June 4th. I have read that it has been thought that horsehairs, which allegedly were part of the seat of Heydrich's open car Mercedes, may have contributed to this poisoning - however, this is not mentioned in the official diagnosis. From Wikipedia: Further, there is the open possibility of the bomb's having carried some type of poison itself, however, Kubis was injured about the face, and did not succumb to any sickness from having been poisoned following the nearly botched assassination effort. But the controversy here really surrounds Heydrich's death, based upon the final prognosis above. Heydrich was initially wounded on May 27th. Operated on that same day with a healthy and positive prognosis, he rapidly declined until his death on June 4th. Heydrich was an opportunist and a shrewd stratgist. Between himself and his direct superior Himmler, Heydrich had managed many internal coups, always rising in power to a possible point of succeeding Hitler. He partnered with Wilhelm Canaris, until this relationship was no longer useful. Although he managed the majority of his success with his relationship to Himmler, he also worked around Himmler with a relationship to Martin Bormann. Bormann was in all likelihood much more responsible for Heydrich's successful 'North Woods' type sabotage against the prior ruler of the 'Protectorate' - Freiherr Neurath. Following Heydrich's death, a real martyr was created in Heydrich for the Third Reich. Hailed as the perfect Nazi, Heydrich was given an enormous funeral, and provided a plethora of material for propaganda, and a role model for Hitler's SS. Did Himmler act in an overt manner to assure Heydrich's death? Did Himmler seek to remove a potential rival, who had risen to a point where he was no longer controllable, but an equal, or even a superior? Is there a chance that Heydrich was allowed to expire in order to create the drama - which would allow for a much tighter control of the 'Protectorate' - something Heydrich had been planning anyway, and the ability to create a 'superman' myth for the good of the Reich? Which poisons were carried into the organs by the bomb splinters?
