All the coincidences...

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever put together a list of the crazy coincidences that needed to happen for Oswald to have done the shooting per the Lone Nut theory?

I often find when debating the subject that I encounter a lot of "Well... maybe Frazier didn't know the difference between 2 feet and 3 feet?" or "Maybe Connally didn't realise he'd been shot till a few seconds later?"

Just for fun... no arguing... little bit of light hearted Christmas sarcastic silliness. How about we compile a list of good fortune and coincidence that would have been needed for the job to have happened the WC says happened.

I'll start...

Oswald was really lucky that Buell Wesley Frazier was able to give him those lifts at such short notice, otherwise he'd have had to carry his rifle to work on the bus.

Oswald was really lucky that the Post Office worker who handled the rifle delivery to his PO Box didn't know the rules about not accepting deliveries to people with different names to specific PO Boxes... (and also lucky that the worker who let him pick the rifle up was unaware of that rule as well...)

I think this has been done before.

All the things that had to fall into place in order for the JFK case to happen as it did with Oswald as the fall guy.

Its quite an array of oddities.

Ordering a rifle using an assumed name for the crime that you hope to use to get your real name into the history books. Sounds like a foolproof plan right there.

12:25 PM, when the limo is scheduled to pass, LHO is on the second floor. Very clever. How better to become a big somebody and get into the history books than being five floors away from your snipers nest and your weapon at the precise time your target is scheduled to pass?

12:30 PM, LHO shoots from the sixth floor window.

12:32 PM, LHO seen again on the second floor, not winded or sweating. What an actor. Excuse me, that should be "actor/athlete!"

Another fun game to play is the "If Only" game.

I put together this "If Only" list a few years back:

------------------------------------------

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald had been successful in his suicide attempt in Russia on October 21, 1959.

IF ONLY .... Bonnie Ray Williams had decided to watch the Presidential motorcade from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, instead of going down to the fifth floor shortly before President Kennedy drove past the building.

IF ONLY .... TSBD Superintendent Roy Truly had not hired Lee Harvey Oswald on October 15, 1963.

IF ONLY .... Roy Truly had assigned Oswald to work at the Houston Street TSBD building, instead of the building at 411 Elm Street in Dealey Plaza.

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald's Mannlicher-Carcano rifle had jammed at Z313.

IF ONLY .... Lee Oswald's father had not died shortly before Lee was born. What influence would it have had on Lee's whole life if he had been able to grow up with a father in the house, instead of being raised solely by that really strange mother of his, Marguerite?

IF ONLY .... Marina Oswald had agreed to immediately go back to Dallas to live with her husband when Lee asked her to do so on Thursday, November 21, 1963.

IF ONLY .... Linnie Mae Randle's house had been located further away from Ruth Paine's house in Irving, Texas. If Randle hadn't lived so close to the Paine home, it's very likely that Lee Oswald would never have found out about the job opening at the Texas School Book Depository.

IF ONLY .... it hadn't stopped raining in Dallas on the morning of 11/22/63, shortly prior to JFK's motorcade through the city. If the rain had continued, then the plastic bubbletop roof would have been affixed to the President's 1961 Lincoln Continental limousine as JFK was being driven through the streets of Dallas, which might have deflected the bullets away from the President's body. The roof might have also deterred Oswald from firing any rifle shots at the car in the first place (if Oswald had been of the opinion that the bubbletop roof was bullet-proof, which it wasn't).

IF ONLY .... Arnold Rowland had alerted a policeman about the gunman he saw on the west end of the Book Depository Building at approximately 12:15 PM on 11/22/63.

IF ONLY .... Buell Wesley Frazier had been unable to drive Lee Harvey Oswald to work on the morning of November 22nd. What would Oswald have done then? Would he have carried his rifle package on a bus? (Perhaps.) Or in a taxicab? (I doubt it.)

Or would he have awakened Ruth Paine and asked her to drive him to work, with the 38-inch-long brown paper package in the back of Mrs. Paine's Chevrolet station wagon? (I very much doubt it. It's unlikely he would have wanted to use the "curtain rod" lie in front of Mrs. Paine. Of course, if Ruth asked "What's in the package, Lee?", Lee could have always thought up a quick lie on the spur of the moment, I suppose. He could always tell Ruth that Marina made him an extra-large submarine sandwich for lunch that day.)

IF ONLY .... Lee Oswald's paper bag had ripped open on the way to work. If it had ripped, it might have allowed Wesley Frazier to see what was inside the bag (a rifle), and it might have made Oswald think twice about using that now-exposed weapon as an instrument in a Presidential assassination attempt a few hours later.

IF ONLY .... Police Officer Marrion Baker had detained Lee Harvey Oswald on the second floor of the TSBD. If Baker hadn't turned Oswald loose in the lunchroom, the life of policeman J.D. Tippit would have been spared.

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald had been caught in the act of attempting to kill retired General Edwin A. Walker on April 10, 1963.

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald had been successful in his attempt to reach Cuba and/or the Soviet Union during his trip to Mexico City in September 1963. If he had gone to Cuba or Russia in September, would he have returned to Dallas, Texas, in November to shoot President Kennedy?

IF ONLY .... Ruth Paine had not met Lee and Marina Oswald at a party in February of 1963.

IF ONLY .... the Texas Employment Commission had attempted to contact Lee Harvey Oswald just a day or two earlier than they did, to inform Oswald of a job opening at Trans-Texas Airways (a job that would have paid Oswald $310 per month, which is over $100 more per month than his TSBD salary).

Records indicate that the Texas Employment Commission attempted to contact Oswald by telephone on October 15, 1963, which was the exact same day he was hired by Roy Truly at the Book Depository.

Records further indicate that the TEC last attempted to contact Oswald about the Trans-Texas job at 10:30 AM on October 16, 1963, which was the same day Oswald began working at the TSBD. [Also see Warren Report, Page 247.]

IF ONLY .... Bullet CE399 hadn't fallen out of Governor John Connally's left leg. If that bullet had remained in Connally's thigh, instead of falling onto his hospital stretcher, it would have saved millions of words from being written by conspiracy theorists about the bullet having been "planted".

IF ONLY .... Karen Carlin had waited one more hour to call Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963. Such a delay on Carlin's behalf would have meant Ruby would very likely have not been in a position to shoot and kill Lee Harvey Oswald in the basement of Dallas City Hall at 11:21 AM CST on 11/24/63.

IF ONLY .... One more customer had been in front of Jack Ruby at the Western Union office.

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald hadn't taken the time to put on that black sweater before being escorted into the basement.

IF ONLY .... Jack Ruby had not owned a revolver.

IF ONLY .... Jacqueline Kennedy had pushed her husband down inside the limousine before the fatal bullet had a chance to hit its mark.

If only.

Cheers David... that is indeed a fairly comprehensive list of the stars that had to align for Oswald to have done it.

He was SO lucky that none of those things happened!

If only DPD Chief Jessie Curry had not felt so obsessed that the public needed to see that his department was not mistreating Oswald in their custody that he overruled the concerned suggestions by many that he move Oswald ( the most threatened criminal suspect in our history ) at night without public announcement and under much more physical protection versus announcing his broad daylight transfer to the press along with a time frame and allowing his rather small and tight parking basement to be filled by a crowd of jostling, blinding flash bulb press people resulting in security breach negligence that allowed the armed strip joint owning, DPD deli sandwich delivery boy Jack Ruby unchecked access into that press crowd to blow a hole into the wide open LHO.

Thereby creating the largest public event movement of government suspicion and mistrust in our history.

I put together this "If Only" list a few years back:

------------------------------------------

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald had been successful in his suicide attempt in Russia on October 21, 1959.

JFK still was targeted to be killed either in Tampa, Chicago or Texas...  "Lee Oswald" would be known as "Arthur Vallee"
IF ONLY you could see past your cherry picking and look at the event as a whole... If ONLY

IF ONLY .... Bonnie Ray Williams had decided to watch the Presidential motorcade from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, instead of going down to the fifth floor shortly before President Kennedy drove past the building.

IF ONLY you'd also mention he left the 6th floor, not 10 feet from where the SE corner is, because, in his words, "It was so quiet" even though it was not after 12:15 and all evidence still points to no Oswald on the 6th floor or even on his way up.

IF ONLY .... TSBD Superintendent Roy Truly had not hired Lee Harvey Oswald on October 15, 1963.
IF ONLY you could understand how inconsequential that was... related to the killing of JFK...  creating a patsy - that's another story

IF ONLY .... Roy Truly had assigned Oswald to work at the Houston Street TSBD building, instead of the building at 411 Elm Street in Dealey Plaza.
SEE PREVIOUS

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald's Mannlicher-Carcano rifle had jammed at Z313.
IF ONLY you'd try to substantiate the delivery of said weapon as effectively as the rest of us have debunked it

IF ONLY .... Lee Oswald's father had not died shortly before Lee was born. What influence would it have had on Lee's whole life if he had been able to grow up with a father in the house, instead of being raised solely by that really strange mother of his, Marguerite?
IF ONLY you actually knew something about the man's childhood and the amazingly bizarre happenstances that follow MO and child around, all the while Lee and his mother are written out of the play

IF ONLY .... Marina Oswald had agreed to immediately go back to Dallas to live with her husband when Lee asked her to do so on Thursday, November 21, 1963.
IF ONLY any of this statement made any sense based on the heresay of Marina and Ruth...  why does Oswald walk to Frazier instead of being picked up like all the other times?

IF ONLY .... Linnie Mae Randle's house had been located further away from Ruth Paine's house in Irving, Texas. If Randle hadn't lived so close to the Paine home, it's very likely that Lee Oswald would never have found out about the job opening at the Texas School Book Depository.
IF ONLY you knew what a tautology was....   placing the assumed contradiction or answer in the question you are refuting is intellectual vomit.  This isn't the Butterfly Effect movie here DVP....  you need to connect your circular statements to the possibilities about which you are hypothesizing

AGAIN TAUTOLOGICAL....  SINCE YOU CANNOT PLACE OSWALD IN THE 6TH FLOOR WINDOW WITH A RIFLE, THE BUBBLETOP CONCLUSION YOU DRAW IS NON-SEQUITOR

IF ONLY .... Arnold Rowland had alerted a policeman about the gunman he saw on the west end of the Book Depository Building at approximately 12:15 PM on 11/22/63.
IF ONLY the DPD and FBI followed up on his 11/22 affidavit describing exactly that... a gunman in the opposite window from where they placed the shots

IN ONLY you'd realize that Oswald waiting until Thursday afternoon to ask Wesley for a ride is not exactly in line with someone planning such a momentous event.  One would think he'd secure a ride earlier in the week... say the 19th when he finally became aware that JFK was even coming to Dallas.

Linnie Mae put it at 27"...  Wesley at just over 24" while Mrs. Randle says Oswald was not carrying anything...  A TSBD worker asked multiple times if Oswald had anything in his hands when coming into work...  "No he did not". Amazing what happens when you add facts to your "IF-ONLY-THEN" experiment

IF ONLY you mentioned the impossibility of Oswald creating such a bag based on the evidence available.  Or how the bag, if actually made, gets home with him and Wesley... then into the garage and at some time later used to carry the broken down rifle....  all without a single sound made..

Mr. JENNER - You heard no moving about on his part prior to your awakening?

Mrs. PAINE - No moving about on his part at all when I looked when I awoke.

Mrs. OSWALD. Yes. He then stopped talking and sat down and watched television and then went to bed. I went to bed later. It was about 9 o'clock when he went to sleep. I went to sleep about 11:30. But it seemed to me that he was not really asleep. But I didn't talk to him.  In the morning he got up, said goodbye, and left, and that I shouldn't get up--as always, I did not get up to prepare breakfast. This was quite usual.

Mrs. RANDLE. No, sir; the top with just a little bit sticking up. You know just like you grab something like that.

Mr. BALL. And he was grabbing it with his right hand at the top of the package and the package almost touched the ground?

Mrs. RANDLE. Yes, sir.
(this 5'9" man holding his arm at his side carrying the bag, and this 34" piece did not touch the ground...ok)

...

Mr. BALL. Now, was the length of it any similar, anywhere near similar?

Mrs. RANDLE. Well, it wasn't that long, I mean it was folded down at the top as I told you. It definitely wasn't that long.

...

Mrs. RANDLE. I measured 27" last time.

Mr. BALL. You measured 27" once before?

Mrs. RANDLE. Yes, sir.

Hmmm... maybe she didn't get a good look... what does Wesley say about this bag?

Mr. FRAZIER - Well, I will be frank with you, I would just, it is right as you get out of the grocery store, just more or less out of a package, you have seen some of these brown paper sacks you can obtain from any, most of the stores, some varieties, but it was a package just roughly about two feet long.

IF ONLY you'd stop with the tautological BS Dave.  When you front load the contradictions you wish to prove into the question itself, you offer no proof, only words that go round in circles...  :up

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald had been caught in the act of attempting to kill retired General Edwin A. Walker on April 10, 1963.
IF ONLY you knew the difference between a silver jacket and a copper one...  and at some point along the way proven that a rifle was ever sent and/or rec'd by Oswald.

IF ONLY you understood what occurred from Sept 23 thru Oct 4th...   Aint gonna learn what you dont wanna know

IF ONLY .... Ruth Paine had not met Lee and Marina Oswald at a party in February of 1963.
IF ONLY you just realized the straight line you just drew from RUTH PAINE and the Conspiracy to cover up the assassination of JFK.  A 3rd grader can now fill in those blanks

IF ONLY you were aware that so much more was going on at the TSBD that whan your obviously unidirectional mind can take in.  If only you could make the connection between the intelligence community and the movements (maneuvering) of Oswald into position

IF ONLY you could remember that CE399 is only accepted as the bullet which Elmer Todd says he gets from Rowley while Rowley does NOT ID the bullet as the one from Johnson...  Ooops.  CE399 comes into existence in Washington DC when Rowley hands it to Todd...  Wonder how it got to Rowley despite having received a different bullet from Johnson...  Hmmm

706148362_RowleygivesToddC1thebulletknownasCE399.jpg.f5b4193f98239f74d94672780351ee54.jpg

IF ONLY you read the paper by John and me about what actually happened that led Ruby to killing Oswald...  or the conclusions of the HSCA which found the "alley" or parking lot to the east of the courthouse has an unlocked door which leads directly to the stairs to the basement.  Read our paper and maybe learn something -

image.thumb.png.eef2f2ffdae7474d33fff676b1439cd0.png

IF ONLY .... One more customer had been in front of Jack Ruby at the Western Union office.
IF ONLY you realized that the timing of one had nothing to do with the timing of the other.  Oswald would be brought to Jack Ruby when Rudy was ready and in position... they waited over 90 mins already... what's a few more.  IF ONLY Kenneth CROY - standing right next to Ruby - had done anything to curtail his progress as he KNEW Ruby was not a reporter and should not have been there.

IF ONLY .... Lee Harvey Oswald hadn't taken the time to put on that black sweater before being escorted into the basement.
Non-Sequitor

IF ONLY .... Jack Ruby had not owned a revolver.
Non-Sequitor

IF ONLY .... Jacqueline Kennedy had pushed her husband down inside the limousine before the fatal bullet had a chance to hit its mark.

IF ONLY you'd realize that once again you offer tautologies....  seems all your statements revolve around proving or disproving that which you've already decided in the question...  very poor form DVP...  I thought you had the chops to make an argument based on Authenticated Evidence.

If only.  If Only you had realized that we here investigate first and conclude second as opposed to the the tautological existence you've created for yourself and those who care to read your work...   Since I've known you you've failed at every opportunity to offer deductive logic within the evidence and circumstances in place of these tautologies...   Kinda sad the few voices in support of a vastly corrupt government can't pull it together and offer a coherent argument...

Always a joy seeing you flounder in your attempts to explain the impossible. :up

Coincidences like the patsy whose rifle was on the 6th floor actually munching a sandwich in the first floor lunchroom, or perhaps standing on the steps of the TSBD, or perhaps both, at the time of the assassination? I actually sometimes engage in precisely the opposite thought-experiment: How many of the pretty-much-undisputed facts of November 21-24 make any sense whatsoever in the context of any conspiracy theory? I find the Lone Nut hypothesis, with any and all quirks and mysteries duly acknowledged, far more plausible than any of the extant conspiracy theories. But that's just me.

"Just you". Kinda nice not having to actually do anything in support of your conclusions...  like looking at the evidence offered and seeing how it paints a picture of a conspiracy rather than one of a Lone Nut...  Aint gonna learn what you dont wanna know :up
