  1. Bonnie and Clyde - impossible without Zapruder film rumors, or actual insider viewing of the film. The whole point of its near-contemporary, Blow-Up, is that evidence of a political murder lies hidden in plain sight on film - again impossible without rumor of Zapruder or seeing the film. The protagonist's life grows less shallow, but more dangerous... BTW - this is old stuff in cinema courses.
  2. Are Hill and Moorman in proportion to each other, height/size-wise, as seen in other photos and films? Something about Hill in Zapruder seems off, apart from looking away from the limo. Can we match Hill looking away in Zapruder to her statements about seeing the shooting, and about looking for her cycle-cop boyfriend?
  3. Any thoughts out there on this book, advertised on the same Amazon page? Betrayal in Dallas: LBJ, the Pearl Street Mafia, and the Murder of President Kennedy Author Mark North demystifies the most infamous crime of the twentieth century, arguing that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas by Mafia contract killers hired by Louisiana mob boss Carlos Marcello. Why Dallas? Because it was the only location in the country to commit a crime of such magnitude without fear of apprehension. Critical characters emerge in the plot to murder JFK: Henry Wade, the long-time district attorney turned corrupt; Lyndon B. Johnson himself, who, while a senator in the 1950s, accepted bribes from the mob; corrupt FBI director J. Edgar Hoover; and more. And North is just getting warmed up. In late 1961, U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy and his brother John, who harbored a deep-seeded hatred for LBJ, initiated a covert Organized Crime Task Force investigation of the Civello mob in Dallas with the understanding that destroying the Dallas Mafia would also destroy LBJ. Johnson, through Wade and other local federal officials he had placed in power, learned of the plan and cooperated with the Civello mob to have JFK killed. North’s conclusions are based on classified federal documents unknown to the public and research community. It is inevitable that, at some point, any great historical truth becomes known. Betrayal in Dallas is nothing less than the vehicle for that moment. It is what the American people have been waiting for since November 22, 1963. 75 black-and-white photographs About the Author Mark North, a degreed historian, Texas attorney, and nationally recognized author of Act of Treason: The Role of J. Edgar Hoover in the Assassination of President Kennedy and Betrayal in Dallas: LBJ, the Pearl Street Mafia, and the Murder of President Kennedy, has been investigating the Kennedy assassination for three decades. North resides in Austin, Texas.
  4. If you look at Maxwell Taylor's head, it's not as elongated as TSBD man's or Lansdale's head. Except for the face and hair, Taylor's head is shaped rather like Clark Gable's.
  5. Who did the LaFontaines ID as the Three Tramps? I only remember that I found their jail cell book insubstantial, a kind of blown-up anecdote that would be better as a brief article than conclusive research between covers. So I probably didn't think much of their ID. Prouty, Krulak, and Hemming at least had the virtues of "being there," and the faults of being there for some dangerous covert doings, which can restrict or alter the information one releases.
  6. Sadly - I dropped the book off in a library box this morning, or I'd double check for you. Agency supply of various Trujillo assassination weapons is discussed.
  7. David, Thanks for the link to the new book. Using the "Inside Feature" to check the index, it is always interesting to see the names mentioned throughout the book and in this case, the names not mentioned. Zach It's worth a look strictly for Trujillo and Duvalier who get a lot of print therein. Who did you find conspicuously missing in Haiti or Santo Domingo?
  8. Trujillo and Duvalier both get a workover, and have some hideous crimes exposed, in the new book Red Heat, by Alex von Tunzelmann. It's a harrowing read on Dominica and Haiti, but unfortunately is loose with Seymour Hersh-like tales of JFK misbehavior, as if that was what prevented liberation in the Caribbean. Otherwise, a hellish indictment of two dictators: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Heat-Conspiracy-Murder-Caribbean/dp/0805090673/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309839134&sr=8-1-fkmr0 I was surprised that the death of Galindez didn't make it in, when unsubstantiable JFK canards did. But still worth a reading.
  9. People who love 1960s rock music may remember The Monks, a nililist-art rock band created by two West German record producers out of five American GI-musicians, in the Beatle era. A couple of these GIs got to parade before JFK on a US AFB, and the documentary Monks: The Transatlantic Feedback features sterling B/W footage of JFK's visit. One of the group remembers that Kennedy was wearing heavy makeup. I looked for the JFK footage on YouTube to no avail. This link may give you a taste of the other Cold War clips in the documentary (seen toward the middle of the trailer). It may seem like a journey for the hardcore, but the film is quite accessible and surprisingly entertaining. Worth seeing on DVD if you love the era.
  10. Remember that Richard Case Nagell identified the Mexico City Oswald as a Cuban, to Dick Russell. It is plausible from his appearance to guess a middle-European heritage on one side of the family. I suppose the question for the e-mail correspondent is whether the Mexico City Oswald is the Saul that he knew.
  11. Mary Moorman's recent webcast interview has her saying that she and Jean Hill have always told different stories on what they witnessed. See top of page linked below: http://www.jfkassassinationforum.com/index.php/topic,4671.msg98983.html#new
  12. A shame Jack White couldn't have been at Mary's interview, too. Is the Moorman interview and the other JFK events up on the iantique website as podcasts? I can't find them on the site, and missed them all live.
  13. Make it a Disney World-type ride: Assassins of the Caribbean! Starring the lovable Captain E. Howard Hunt, the Master of Disguise. Ahrrr!
  14. To me, corporate carrying-out of government-mandated policy, the kind of thing we've seen more nakedly and brazenly every decade since.
  15. Neither your children nor mine will ever be able to grasp what Gatsby was after. I declare those days to be here, now.
  16. After investigative work by Daniel Brandt, the culprit was identified as Brian Chase, a manager at a small delivery service in Nashville. I don't doubt this on its face - but I had read it reported, perhaps erroneously, that the culprit was actually a disgruntled employee of Seigenthaler's.
  17. God bless you, Jack. I'm going to put up that info we discussed as soon as I have a chance to review the thread.
  18. Thanks for the links and suggestions, Bernice.
  19. How come nobody else needs a rain slicker? Any more views of the "pillbox" would be appreciated.
  20. in the cupola thing, inside it, during the shooting Where is that cupola again?
  21. President Kennedy was secretly a NINJA !!! He and brother Bobby - only their blazing eyes visible through their slitted black masks - cut a bloody swath through the Congo under Eisenhower. And every so often during their own White House years - pretending they were off seeing Goldfinger together, or something - they rubber-rafted into Cuba on moonless nights. With Howard Hunt waiting at the tiller, the fearless pair slit the throats of cane-field guards, decapitated harbormasters... That bad-back dodge was the most closely guarded national security secret.
