  1. Thanks Pat. It seems the Ukrainian people have no agency of their own according to the foreign policy clowns who post here. This was pointed out here years ago ad infinitum during the Maidan revolt and the invasion of Crimea and we now have a new round of people who know how to post other's opinions. My feeling is the Ukrainians who are fighting the Russians probably know what they are willing to accept from their neighbors. Just as a reminder to others:
  2. We all stand in awe of your genius. How have we all survived these many years?
  3. Yeah, I know. The point is the time it takes to get the shots off.
  4. I tend to agree with you but it's a problem when IG's are toothless and the DOJ has no effective recourse. The agencies have crocheted a blanket of administrative evasions that essentially puts at arm's length any possible oversight functions Congress may employ. They have metastasized into a fourth rail of Government that can alternately choose to use the Constitution as a cudgel or sidestep it as needed. Theoretically the appointee position at the top has authority to reign the agencies in but in reality the deputy under them has the bureaucratic moves to counter and intimidate them. Ask Patraeus. Especially in the Intel agencies the deputies are the real power. IMO they saved us from the former President's worst instincts (I thought the bureaucrats would when he was elected) but those sorts of machinations can work the other way also.

Lots of luminaries in the Q&A also. Malcolm Blunt, Lisa Pease, Joan Mellon, Lisa Pease, Jim DiEugenio etc and Alan Dale as moderator. It's probably been posted here a million times, but I thought I'd bump it for people who may not have seen it.
  6. Huh? I completely missed the part where the payments were mentioned unless you're talking about the random guy who called in and made that claim. Not exactly solid evidence if so. I checked again. At about the 42:00 mark some guy called in and made that claim probably based on Wilcott's testimony which in my mind doesn't really hold up as it has never been corroborated that I know of.
  7. Yup. Makes for good reading Pat. Kudos.
  8. At what point did Hoover/FBI divest Latin American operations to the CIA? Under the OSS I believe LA was under the FBI's remit. Maybe not later though...?
  9. Closest I've seen, Gerry. www2 - chapter5:thejigsawpuzzle (patspeer.com)
  10. Thanks, Matt, for being completely unable to a) speak for yourself and b) completely ignore what I asserted. Genius.
  11. It's all part of their MO. In some ways the nuttier the better, depending on the task. If you ever met some of these people you realize they don't recruit peripheral actors that are masterpieces of mental health. The closer to Langley the more stable but not necessarily cuffed to legal and moral principles. I'm sure it's in the Idiots Guide to CIA Tradecraft somewhere. Select people for actions based on their ability to accomplish the task calibrated to their vulnerability to suggestion, depending on the requirements of the job. Is the subject capable of killing someone and what vulnerabilty do they have that will convince them to do it and stay quiet afterwards? If they don't stay quiet what options exist to neutralize them? All factored into the recruitment. Spygame 101.
  12. Gym Jordan was a potential witness! Do you think they should have those people on the committee? That's partisan? They were given a list of republicans that would likely not have a conflict after trying to add several potential witnesses, claimed it was partisan and walked. And you bought it.
  13. This just off the press: They could have testified all they wanted. The Maga's weren't excluded from telling their side of the story. Pleading the fifth means "What I say may incriminate me in criminal activity". Much if not most of the testimony came from Republicans.
  14. Hahaha! How many people were working on it after he said it? Just joking. The point is the IC isn't immune to nutso programs and the "Doppleganger Project" would be one of their more realistic attempts during the post war period. Like I said, it's not that far out to sea.
  15. David do you have higher res photographs of the above?
  16. I understand your skepticism re the Harvey/Lee theory but let's look at a few facts. If you think that the use of doppelgangers or doubles is ridiculous let me introduce you to "Stargate", a DIA and CIA program to investigate and develop remote viewing and other parapsychic methods to be used for intelligence collection. The masterminds behind that gem weren't exactly wrapped real tight but managed to get a project started at Fort Meade to study the proposal. I might remind you we just recently had a President suggesting to his CDC adviser we were going to work on injecting Lysol or bleach and somehow using an ultraviolet light (where would the wand go, I wonder?) to combat COVID. If you think a project using doubles is somehow impossible to consider in 1950 or whenever think again. After World War Two Europe was a mess beyond anything comparable to what we see in recent times. Try walking from Yugoslavia to Poland along with several hundred thousand others and crossing paths with the same number going in the opposite direction. Internecine wars were common, squatters stealing the properties of victims of the holocaust, the list goes on. Millions of vulnerable and desperate people had to figure out a way to survive and feeding off the detritus of the emerging Cold War was one way to do that. The idea the CIA or others would consider or implement such a plan is not only reasonable but likely was at least considered. It's not far out to sea.
  17. Just for drill I took the two photos and removed the distortion in one of them and rescaled them to try and make a comparison. Although I haven't done any identification type of work, I'm fairly familiar with photography and very familiar with digital editing. I'm sure these two photos are of the same individual. I focused on the most consistent features of his face that would hold true over a period of time and disregarded the shape of his head mostly. The reason is that his hair will make comparison difficult, and the potential or actual lens distortion will usually be more pronounced toward the edge of the frame. Keystoning of the subject due to the position of the head relative to the camera would most likely be minimal but could also factor in. His nose, eyes, eyebrows and mouth will remain largely the same but because of the tilt of his head (forward in one picture and backward in the other) will introduce some differences which can be accounted for. The key lighting in the SSC was lit with what appears to be a single luminaire, possibly a flash, about or a little above the head height on the subject's right-hand side. It doesn't look like any fill or bounce light was used. The difference between the key side and fill side is about 2 1/2 to 3 stops. To determine how many lights were used you only have to count the reflections in his eyes in both pictures. The passport photo was corrected for distortion. His head is tilted slightly toward the camera and is possibly a longer focal length than the SSC photo. The subject was lit with at least two lights, probably photofloods (I believe a passport photography studio would not use camera flashes due to costs and set up) one of which was a key light approximately head height on the subjects left centerline and a fill light approximately 1/2 stop less in intensity about chest high on the subject's right centerline. The lighting set up appears to be professional and what I would expect for a passport photo (flat lighting with detail) whereas the SSC photo looks as if an amateur had taken it without a proper lighting set up for that type of photo. That is why the eyes appear to be different colors. No fill lighting was used in the SSC image. This is what I came up with for comparison photos after correcting for distortion on the passport photo (I could have chosen the SSC photo to correct also but for the comparison only one needed to be corrected to the other). I then combined the two side by side which is what I think they do for comparisons when trying to identify someone. To me, after accounting for the forward lean of Oswald in the PP photo (the mouth even has the little fold on the bottom) it's near perfect.
  18. I'm all for it Lawrence but the group comes with problems all its own. I don't think they'll be received with an ounce of credibility which is a potential problem in the big picture. If the Keystone Cops are on your side what difference does it make? If it's viewed as a flanking attack on the IC or isn't co-sponsored by a serious Dem there's a chance it could do more harm than good. I suppose the release of files has never resulted in staffers from a committee drilling down on the product - which leaves it to serious researchers - so that would be beneficial. I for one believe it will probably result in kookoos in congress raising it as an exemplar to attack fully justified investigations into the insurrection, classified documents and Russian influence in 2016. To me properly adjudicating those issues are FAR, FAR, FAR and AWAY more important than the JKFA files which have probably been bleached to begin with. The insurrection and documents have been largely immune to interference but Russia 2016 was completely corrupted by the Pardoner in Chief. You should know that.
  19. I wonder if they will worry about the Mutual Defense Agreements the former President entered into to coordinate stories and offer incentives to witnesses to not cooperate? Somehow, I doubt that will happen.
  20. It's a parlor trick. I'm surprised you brought it up. When I was much younger we punched pine boards in dojo demonstrations. The grain easily separates. I mean really. Why didn't they just shoot bones? Because it wouldn't support the conclusion they were after.
