Since I've taken up against Richard's paper claiming buttons on Prayerman and no Lunchroom encounter I've been PM'd about how the "experts" will set us all straight... when and if the day ever comes when "experts" can scan the film's frame at ridiculous resolution and support of conflict with Richard's work... until that day we use the resources available... But before that we need to address some common sense about the physical realities of what's being talked about when someone claims they can make out 7 buttons on the coat of this person... While this frame grab is nice and clear, there are limitations to resolution caused by physics that cannot be disregarded... (NOTE: Normal film does not have this high a resolution which is usually about 75pixels/mm becomes 150pixels/mm and this assumes that the frame can be scanned at that resolution) 150 pixels x 150 pixels is 22,500 pixels per square millimeter. 1 frame of 8mm is 4.5 x 3.3 mm or 14.85 sq mm 22,500 x 14.85 = 334,490 pixels within the ENTIRE FRAME PM is but 3% of that frame.... 334,490 * .03 = 10,023 pixels = a 62.5" person with realistic 2" buttons. A single button then is 3.2% of the this entire area (It's actually much less since there is more info in that section than just the person) So a single button is 3.2% * 10,023 = 320 sq pixels... or almost 18 pixels in diameter. Even if they were 4" buttons taking up 6.4%; 640 sq pixels = 25.3 pixels in diameter Here is an enlargement of one of the "buttons" with single pixels as the scale.... These "buttons" are 40 pixels a side or 1600 pixels square.... These artifacts of the image - if buttons - are well over 4" in diameter, each. Will taking that frame and doing a 9600dpi scan change the amount of info? Better yet, instead of worrying about digitizing, take the frame and using a projector blow the thing up to wall size.... What is being argues is that within an area .26 x .26 mm which encompasses what is being put forth as a 5'2" woman... LARGE buttons are at most 2" across... each button is then 2"/62" = 3.2% of the size of the woman in that portion of the frame.... Not only are they not evenly spaced as buttons would be, I'd ask Richard et al to offer us a coat from the 60's with 4" diameter buttons as a normal person's head is about 9" tall. Are you starting to get an idea of how absurd it is to claim 1) that these two men are as close to each other as offered...1.5 feet? & 2) that Buttons are discernible given the amount of digital info - especially at 72dpi. Images below One more point in support of it being Oswald is the way he holds his arms and the drooping right shoulder... We notice this person leaving the arms in this position the entire time.... Just as a thought experiment - does it appear that if PM was to fall flat on his face from where he is, would he even reach Wesley, the tall man in the center? Or he is only 1.5 feet away as Richard concludes? I used a photo from Minsk taken by a tourist while Ozzie was there.... If the X is where the headshot occurred, labeling shot #2 with a third shot down the street is a contradiction, no? April 27, 1964 MEMORANDUM TO: J. Lee Rankin FROM: Norman Redlich The purpose of this memorandum is to explain the reasons why certain members of the staff feel that it is important to take certain on-site photographs in connection with the location of the approximate points at which the three bullets struck the occupants of the Presidential limousine. Our report presumably will state that the President was hit by the first bullet, Governor Connally by the second, and the President by the third and fatal bullet. The report will also conclude that the bullets were fired by one person located in the sixth floor southeast corner window of the TSBD building. As our investigation now stands, however, we have not shown that these events could possibly have occurred in the manner suggested above. All we have is a reasonable hypothesis which appears to be supported by the medical testimony but which has not been checked out against the physical facts at the scene of the assassination. Our examination of the Zapruder films shows that the fatal third shot struck the President at a point which we can locate with reasonable accuracy on the ground. We can do this because we know the exact frame (no. 313) in the film at which the third shot hit the President and we know the location of the photographer. By lining up fixed objects in the movie frame where this shot occurs we feel that we have determined the approximate location of this shot. This can be verified by a photo of the same spot from the point where Zapruder was standing. We have the testimony of Governor and Mrs. Connally that the Governor was hit with the second bullet at a point which we probably cannot fix with precision. We feel we have established, however, with the help of medical testimony, that the shot which hit the Governor did not come after frame 240 on the Zapruder film. The governor feels that it came around 230, which is certainly consistent with our observations of the film and with the doctor's testimony. Since the President was shot at frame 313, this would leave a time of at least 4 seconds between the two shots, certainly ample for even an inexperienced marksman. Prior to our last viewing of the films with Governor Connally we had assumed that the President was hit while he was concealed behind the sign which occurs between frames 215-225. We have expert testimony to the effect that a skilled marksman would require a minimum 2 seconds between shots with this rifle. Since the camera operates at 18 1/3 frames per second, there would have to be a minimum of 40 frames between shots. It is apparent, therefore, that if Governor Connally was even as late as frame 240, the President would have to have been hit no later than frame 190 and probably even earlier. We have not yet examined the assassination scene to determine whether the assassin in fact could have shot the President prior to frame 190. We could locate the position on the ground which corresponds to this frame and it would then be our intent to establish by photography that the assassin would have fired the first shot at the President prior to this point. Our intention is not to establish the point with complete accuracy, but merely to substantiate the hypothesis which underlies the conclusions that Oswald was the sole assassin. I had always assumed that our final report would be accompanied by a surveyor's diagram which would indicate the approximate location of the three shots. We certainly cannot prepare such a diagram without establishing that we are describing an occurrence which is physically possible. Our failure to do this will, in my opinion, place this Report in jeopardy since it is a certainty that others will examine the Zapruder films and raise the same questions which have been raised by our examination of the films. If we do not attempt to answer these observable facts, others may answer them with facts which challenge our most basic assumptions, or with fanciful theories based on our unwillingness to test our assumptions by the investigatory methods available to us. I should add that the facts which we now have in our possession, submitted to us in separate reports from the FBI and Secret Service, are totally incorrect and, if left uncorrected, will present a completely misleading picture. It may well be that this project should be undertaken by the FBI and Secret Service with our assistance instead of being done as a staff project. The important thing is that the project be undertaken expeditiously.

Great to see you B.A. Suspend what you believe and what you know for a moment... about the Zfilm. At the time of the filming of the assassination, can we agree that the Phase we were still in was #1 - Oswald part of a conspiracy to kill JFK. Bullets could fly from any direction, or they could only come from the conspiracy connected Oswald in the 6th floor window. What we can conclude from the weight of the evidence is that at least a single shot came from in front of JFK creating a result on film - the end of which we see in the extent film. There remains strong physical and circumstantial evidence for a shot or shots from the sewer and/or south knoll as well as somewhere behind the limo (Which thanks to C Davidson's work is starting to come into focus). IOW the conspiracy part of the plot included Oswald and comrades... The film, as Dino so plainly put it, showed 6-8 shots from 3-4 directions.... and IMO this film is already altered from the one copy in DC Friday night... (0184 IMO) Anyway, if the film shows that many shots, the briefing boards from NPIC that we have from Homer's work group has as many as 6 different frames on which shots are identified. The frames identified were 190, 206, 213, 242, 264, and 312 - the bold ones being the only two allowed. The obviousness of frame 223 with a shot hitting JC is excluded. NPIC agreed on 242 rather than LIFE's 264 yet since they did not agree with z190 due to the length of the delayed reaction, both 206 and 213 did not leave enough time to fire again by 242.... This was not so much a study of the film as a reverse engineering of the acceptable story based on the alteration of the film... PHASE 2 comes into being sometime Friday afternoon after the call from the White House... Who now, along the chain of evidence would be aware enough of this change, or to plan on this change to Lone Nut - to do something about the films and photos and where along this timeline and chain is there a film which simply DISAPPEARS to history... the stamped 0183 is not on the extent original - if that alone does not convince anyone that something happened to this actual original between development and analysis I am truly at a loss. The claim is the film is UNALTERED... yet the most basic aspects of the film's creation are simply not there... Ask David Healey... when you refilm the altered version and develop it without the stamping of a number.... then cut it down to the 6+ feet of actual assassination film... claiming this as "original" seems pretty large leap of faith that the same groups who messed with every item of evidence, simply left this alone... (side note BA... only Zapruder, Nix, Muchmore and Bronson have images of the shooting. Still photos of the right moments are limited to a small handful.... The FBI/DPD/CIA/??? acquired these films and cameras and photos with impunity... except for Zapruders? He gets handled with kid gloves... ) Max Philips sends an 8mm version of the complete film to his boss Chief ROWLEY in DC Friday eve.... Of the 3 prints 0185 0186 0187 2 are given to Sorrels. The THIRD is forwarded. Except Zapruder is supposed to have 0183 and the best copy... Sorrels give 1 of his copies to FBI SA Kelley; and in every timeline so far he supposedly gives this other film to ??? to get it to Phillips to get to DC.... In other words SA Sorrels puts the only SS copy left in his possession on a plane to Rowley leaving himself and the other agents no film to review at all... We are to remember that Sorrels left Zapruder and does not receive the film(s) until much later Mr. SORRELS - He is a salesman for the Ford Co. on West Commerce Street--Mr. Willis.And so he said, yes, that he would be glad to furnish me with a copy of the pictures.At that time, I made a phone call to my office, because I had not been in contact with them since we had departed from Love Field. I was informed that an FBI agent had called the office and said that Captain Fritz of the Homicide Bureau had been trying to get in touch with me, that he had a suspect in custody.Mr. STERN - About what time was that?Mr. SORRELS - That would be fairly close to 2 o'clock, I imagine.Mr. STERN - About an hour after you had returned----Mr. SORRELS - Yes. With one roll going to DC and Sorrels keeping one we are now asked to accept that 1) Sorrels gives his one remaining copy to the FBI and2) sends a copy rather than the original to DC. Mrs. Z tells us differently... and with this conflict in the evidence over who, when and how the film gets to the airport - the idea the SS is left all night without their own copy to analyze seems a bit, well - wrong. Add the note from Phillips claiming the THIRD print is forwarded in already split format and as one long film suggests to me that 0184 may have indeed been printed and was the version of the film which went to DC that night...
