  1. Good question W. !!! Keep it up, the date is paramount. That's the kind of relevant questioning I'd ask Di Eugenio but he has half the world on ignore. I think how many other 'keeping them honest" questions that could have been asked. Actually there was quite a vigilant liberal movement of people who were wondering where Vietnam was going by 1965. Some of them were my junior high teachers. You can see traces of that in, was it August 1963 with the Huntley Brinkley interview with JFK where they're really trying to pin JFK down. As far as Jim's answer. That's what I remember. Many people were against the war by 1967. I gave and give Bobby a C minus. In actuality. This question of JFK's intentions and eventual follow through about Vietnam is not as clear cut as people here say. It may just be the Kennedy penchant for secrecy but it also wasn't clear from any public statements from JFK's advisors either. By 1967, it was becoming very clear that the war was an albatross over any Democrat politicians head. If they were on the right side of history, what did they have to lose?
  2. I don't get what you're saying Sandy, or what you're inferring from what i said. But when I think of the antithesis of "love your neighbor", i think of the current situation of Israel bombing the sh-t out of a region and killing 30,000 innocent civilians. That can rattle me a little. But I admit, I'm not feeling that charitable toward Melania! They just recently got a new nuptial , I understand.
  3. W. I appreciate the article about Roman, but this shouldn't have been any surprise to Willis and Wade and is really the high stakes part of the league they're playing in, and is an unforced error. If the tables were turned the Democrat attorney's would probably be looking into the same thing. This whole thing could have just been avoided if Wade had just made a quick settlement with his ex-wife. Willis and Wade paid for everything in cash, because Willis testifies that to pay everything in cash was the way she was raised by her Father, who they then asked to testify, and he confirms that is how he raised his daughter. They make a big deal that Willis's Father had no special knowledge about Willis's relationship with Wade. Hey, if I were an attorney, like he is. I probably wouldn't ask my daughter either. Sandy: It doesn't matter that they had a romantic relationship. What matters is if Nathan Wade paid her way or bought her stuff after she hired him. Quid pro quo. Of course Willis and Wade are lawyers and know what's going on. It's obvious under this circumstance, their use of cash was completely intentional. But like some of Trump's defense, you can't really prove it. And if you can't prove the intention, you've got nothing. Willis and Wade should have realized that they had to be squeaky clean. But this has no bearing directly on Trump's trial. ******* Unfortunately the victorious cases against Trump that are the simplest would tend to be the first prosecuted and they don't do a lot by themselves to sway the non aligned voters. I think you can make a case that the enormous settlement of 385 million is thought of by many to be excessive as at least in principle many people have bumped up their incomes to apply for credit cards and bumped up or down their asset values to either apply for a loan or get favorable tax consideration. The only difference is that Trump's bump ups were absolutely insane!
  4. Matt:Hatred like that is the antithesis of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the Bible warns of those that treat people that way. Yes, the good old First Commandment. I was going to say "amendment" but they really are at cross purposes, aren't they? Obviously none of us can know the figures. But I'd say 10-15% of America are Christo Fascists and a great number of the rest of the Christian population are very malleable and suggestible and could become a Christo Fascist majority, as I don't think there is sufficient mental discipline when under pressure to distinguish matters of Church and State. A good contingent of Trump support are these Christians, and any matters for them of Trump's character and virtue can readily be swept under the rug. For me it's been very disheartening in the last few years just to see how shallow Christian conviction is in the U.S. Such a thing can't be minimized and shouldn't be swept under the rug. The only counterbalance are the remaining, Christians, people of other faiths, agnostics and atheists under maybe the broad term "secularists." Thank God, we have the abortion issue and this newest IVF Alabama ruling to fractionalize this group.
  5. Oh, that's well known. He actually said the U.S. made Putin do it! He's probably as snowed by Putin with Navalny as he was with Prighozin. That is, he tends to be skeptical that Putin had anything to do with his death. It would be interesting to hear his comments about Navalny. He's just really gullible. It was interesting in his 10 hour interview with Putin, I believe he first opened the issue of Ukraine implying what is the big deal if Ukraine starts to emulate the West? That could be just sort of an interview technique.to get a strong response. Whatever Stone's true feelings were. He certainly ended up caving, and then went on to spend I assume probably a few million of his own money to produce "Ukraine on Fire" to be Putin's disciple and help spread Putin's gospel that Ukraine was nothing but a neo nazi state that must be crushed and we'll never know how much it has served in Putin's getting cover to justify his brutal invasion of Ukraine. Nobody will ever be able to take away from Stone what he did for open government. He's reached a place where people respect his film achievements , so they pass some of Stone's stuff off as "that's just Stone being Stone" and it's not a liability to the JFKAC movement. Still, as in a number of things, it would be nice if the mantle could be passed on to some non Baby Boomer new blood. IMO
  6. I wish when Oliver Stone did his 10 hour interview with Putin, he knew he was as full of sh-t as Tucker does here. Hey i enjoyed Oliver drinking and getting high with Bill Maher but his defense of Putin in this interview is so cultish. Vlad can do no wrong, ( what's that about Ukraine?) He refuses to believe there could be anything fishy about Prighozin's death. All these Soviet journalists thrown out of windows were troublemakers and any western journalists imprisoned obviously had it coming! .
  7. As far as evidence of foreknowledge. You've seen this right?
  8. Taylor Swift has 543 million followers! Here's the Taylor Swift clip where she says she's not going to sit this election out endorsement wise. Fox News and Trump have both responded. First Trump tweets that Taylor is ungrateful and owes her music success to Trump! Fox news started out concocting a CIA conspiracy plan that had Kelce proposing to Swift after the KC Chiefs win in the Super Bowl, and then together issuing a joint statement endorsing Joe Biden for President. When both Trump and Fox realized how stupid they looked, they spent the last few days before the Super Bowl trying to get back in Swift's good graces!. Here's the Taylor video clip. Here's Trump's first tweet upon seeing the clip. Trump decides Swift's pretty powerful to cross and tweets to try to make up with her. Unfortunately the Kansas City that has the Chiefs is in Missouri!
  9. That's interesting Paul! So that was him accepting the trophy? he looked like a little Mike Johnson! a fitting commentary as to the changing face of power over the last 60 years! Yet still the NFL owners are now like real smooth mafia. I got disgusted with it about 10 years ago. But damn, it's such a great game! Stu, Ron, no offense you guys. But it is an interesting new phenomena. JFKA nerd humor! heh heh
  10. I wasn't aware there was any humor here. I guess that's why I don't think your jokes have a prayer man! But apparently Ron gets repeated belly laughs. Hmmm But they were very flapable. You're right about losing their poise. Stu, I do think your subject material is about as funny as elderly abuse. (above) Yeah Pat, that sounds like a great idea for a modern sitcom. "Conspiracy Dad". How about this:? "A teenage son and daughter grow up navigating their way through a myriad of their widower Father's zany adventures with the "deep state." **** Ok, I'm sour grapes. It was great game! But at least if we lost I was expecting Fox's scenario of a CIA staged proposal between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce and then her dreaded Biden endorsement in front of hundreds of millions! What a disappointment! Damn that CIA!
  11. I don't think it matters what Kamala thinks. I'm not an expert on this. But I don't think Kamala Harris has any greater claim to be the Democrat Presidential candidate until Biden wins the nomination, again formally picks her as VP and then during the campaign becomes incapacitated or dies. If Biden wins the primaries and dies or becomes incapacitated before the convention. It's a completely open convention, where I believe the delegates are not required to transfer their Biden pledge over to Harris, because often candidates don't pick their running mate until the convention anyway, and a judgment will be made in smoke filled rooms about which candidate has the best chance of winning, because nobody will have any delegates but Biden. A similar situation happened in 1968 , when Johnson declined to run in late March. It was going to be on open convention with Johnson's VP, Hubert Humphrey taking on RFK and Eugene Mc Carthy but of course, RFK was killed..
  12. Yeah, I predicted the Nuggets were going to win the championship. Blowing that lead was a glorious victory for the Nugs and a seasonal low water mark for the Dubs! I didn't realize the Serbs are among the tallest people on earth! Oh well, it's going to be tough, but Brock on! A victory for the 49ers is a victory for supposed LHO lookalikes and JFK!
  13. Yeah, Cory, Cliff, Joe, ----Let's stop the nonsense! Let's win one for JFK!! heh heh
  14. Since Basketball is an international sport. I can't imagine why people wouldn't want to see the greatest players in the world! Greatest team of all time. -2017 2nd and third greatest players in the world! -3 all NBA best defenders -Arguably 2017 best 2 way player (Klay)? -Revolutionary who has changed the game! - I love that look on KD's face watching the Steph replay! Cliff:At the beginning of the season I fired a yard on ‘em to win it all @ +1260. Now I’m glad I did! Wow!, then you really have to be encouraged with Kuminga and Podziemski! I think that would be a "Brock Purdy wins it all" #2 story! Why not? I'm just happy better days are ahead!
  15. I don't see much resemblance between Brock Purdy and LHO, but it is more of a vibe. As a 49er fan, I'm glad we now we have the added incentive to win now that it's the 49ers against the Deep State, CIA and Taylor Swift! heh heh All this hype about Brock Purdy. If he wins, he'll be the rags to riches NFL success story of this early century! If he loses, people will say he was always a complete loser!, but he'll probably be back in the future and have another chance. ****** Hey about Steph? , 20 3's in 2 games and a buzzer beater winner tonight against KD and the Suns!! And speaking of KD Lang, she's always reminded me of later John Lenon! But fans are stupid. Now some people are calling for Steve Kerr to quit and he's only been here for 9 years and has won 4 titles! If you don't have the talent, or they're getting old, you're not going to win! Ok, no chance of winning it all now, but they are a better team than they've been playing, at least up to these last 4 games! Find something to cheer about! Congratulations Sin City!
  16. I like Dionne Dave, and It's interesting you mentioned it because I have a story about a Dionne Warwick song. On the night of Nov. 22nd 1963. We were all watching coverage of the assassination. I went to bed , turned on the radio to find all R&R was blacked out. The entire radio were newscasts about the assassination or somber symphonic music, which was fitting. So I spun the dial looking for some popular music to try to bring me back to the day before and there, all the more eerie because it was off in the staticky distance, Dionne Warwick with "Anyone who had a heart". Though you don't list it, it was In my mind her greatest song and one of Bacharach's greatest compositions. I had never heard a popular song like that with a time signature that was 4/4 , then 5/4 and the 7/8.! https://youtu.be/qMsiGMKHJ8k There was one popular song that I heard was inspired on the night of the Kennedy assassination and that was Brian Wilson's "The Warmth of the Sun". Also in my mind , one of his greatest compositions. https://youtu.be/uoDm_flnwxc
  17. I agree completely Matt. It should never have been that an AG should be picked to compensate for the unfairness at having been denied being a Supreme Court justice. Biden needed a no nonsense RFK type of an AG to prosecute Trump. We found ourselves in an identical situation in that we spent a couple of years waiting for Mueller. But now Garland 's department dragged their feet for 2 years and then passed it off to Jack Smith! Now we're really in a pickle and everything looks political. I understand the need for the perception of fairness but as Garrison quoted, "Let Justice be done though the Heaven's fallI!" is what I say! I don't think I've ever seen a public official more often publicly seem on the brink of tears as I've seen Garland. But I have no problem with that. I just wanted him to firmly take charge!
  18. I agree W. it's pathetic that so many Gazans have been slaughtered. However I do believe in disproportionate revenge. In this case that means the most powerful combatant has to establish their authority which probably includes killing at least double the innocent civilians as were inflicted on the Israelis, and many times the destruction but that was accomplished in about one or two weeks! One very harmful fallacy that was successfully propagated on some in our discussion was Netanyahu's assertion that they could "eliminate Hamas". Most of the American have public accepted that, and so now we are in our 4th month and 27,000 lives later, and America still hasn't woken up! I don't mean to pick on you W. But you open up a generous amounts of territory here, and as you know I also don't shy away from opening up large areas of discussion, though not often very successfully! heh heh No W. , as I keep telling you've underestimated the amount of resistance in the U.S. ,but you're not listening to me either. Neither Bernie or Elizabeth Warren have had the courage to even ask for a ceasefire! That would be the beginning of resistance! It took Bernie 3 months to propose that there be a commission to monitor possible Israeli atrocities I believe it was and only 10 Democrat Senators out of 51, and only one Republican out of 49 Republicans voted for it! Just a week ago, Bernie got more nerve and proposes to remove 10 billion in U.S. funding to the Israeli war machine! It won't be successful either! In our discussion. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard Matt or Sandy advocate for a ceasefire. I'm pretty sure I've heard in Doug's links that he has. But I don't believe I've even really heard that from you. All this posturing means nothing unless you tie them to concrete policies! Though I assume you must see that as an opening necessity. My intention is not to judge either way, but merely state where our discussion is. Yes if you believe more recent New York Times articles, "In Private Remarks to Arab Americans, Biden Aide Expresses Regrets on Gaza". Now tell me, how private can that be if it's in the New York Times? It's deliberately leaked! This is all a Biden charade, as it has been from the beginning, but a good charade. You notice he mentioned his fears about the Israeli's going overboard in Gaza at the very beginning. That was all intentional. He has to act surprised, even though he isn't. He's gradually building a process where he starts out as a hero ally to the Israeli people in a time of need but is gradually dissuaded by Netanyahu's Gaza genocidal purge of Palestinians. I think he had to know that Israel, if given this level of license would slaughter Gazan civilians without discretion, and not ask themselves any questions about it. I'll repeat, what you don't understand is if Biden enacts what you and I want, he loses in 2024! You have to understand that the overriding desire of all politicians is to stay in office! Even given Biden's discretion, I think he should have been more of a leader at trying to shape U.S. public perception. But he does keep looking at Congress and finding little support, but I do expect that to gradually change. What he's banking on is that the main part of the war will end, and Blinken can successfully start to launch a 2 state solution and it's underway enough that "all's well that ends well" and he'll be remembered in history as being the only President since WW2 to successfully solve the Palestinian issue. But is it realistic to assume that that could be underway by the time he faces re election.? That's pretty difficult, particularly because Bibi's here for a while!
  19. No Matt, she's not automatically entitled because she's VP. If Biden were to get ill and/or back out now. It would be a jump start open race. I think the only situation by which Harris becomes President is if Biden dies or becomes incapacitated. Both the DNC and the RNC are pretty similar in they'll back who they think is the strongest candidate to be elected President. But they can become overruled as they were with Trump in 2016, Mc Govern in 72, and Goldwater in 64.
  20. Biden, obviously was offended by the Trump appointee Hur's commentary and thought he had overstepped and got too personal and revealed things of a sitting President that should have been left unsaid. it does look like Hur is unconvinced that Biden is not guilty but conjectures that Biden would never be convicted because a jury would compassionately give him a pass because he's a weak frail old man. Unlike Trump, I don't think there was any malicious or self serving intent in taking those files, and it sounds like Hur is getting his pound of flesh back at Biden for the 91 felony counts on Trump, but the bottom line is he did exonerate Biden. Then when Biden was insulted at the allegation that Biden himself couldn't remember details about his own sons death. He fights back, goes on the air and forgets the award that his son got and called it called the"Lady of --------and couldn't remember "Guadalupe." Doug: Biden has had it. He is too old. His foreign policy mistakes are leading the world to nuclear war. About the policy mistakes, maybe I'll address that later. There's too much sh-t coming to a head. Doug, from what I gather you're about 12-13 years older than me. Being closer to Biden's age, I assume you can in part relate to Biden's situation. He needs a super dose of Prevagen, if that works at all! I confess, just the other day, I had a hard time recalling George Santos's name, and he's been in the news a lot! I don't think that impairs any of Biden's policy judgments, but it looks absolutely horrible and is a definite liability in the election. Not that Trump's gaffes are any better, but he at least projects a robustness and an insincere cockiness that a lot of people find appealing, and overlook his mistakes. I have spent many years watching my Father's gradual demise before his death at 101, and can tell you there were several years that if you asked him what was the year my Mother died. He couldn't tell you but that wouldn't impair his judgment in the his present reality, and he exhibited good judgment. W. --I've made no secret of the fact that I have disagreed, since October, with Biden's support for Netanyahu's bombing of Gaza. Biden, himself, now seems to recognize his mistake, and the risk of being drawn into the longstanding Israeli/Neocon plan to engage the U.S. in a war with Iran. As you know, I agree with you W. but I don't think Biden has made any any recognition or realized that he has made a mistake. If you see the arc of what is politically possible. I can tell you Biden's actions have been completely predictable. The vast majority of people and the Congress don't agree with your or my position , including people in this conversation right now. Discounting that reality is akin to a Trumpist discounting us as sheep and pro establishment for being outraged at the insurrection and Trump's attempts to throw the election, when in reality we are a solid majority, or Di Eugenio inferring that we're Cold War neocons because we don't walk in lockstep with him and his mentor Oliver Stone about Putin. There was no way Biden could take an action against Israel from the onset, as it would show America to not have any credibility as an ally. In the political sphere, once alliances start breaking down., then all bets are off! But that's not to mention it would be Biden's political suicide to soon turn on Israel after the Hamas terrorism. For the first few months, he couldn't do anything any faster than he has. He has a more Herculean task before him than any President in recent memory. At this point, he has to conspire and drum up support among all the neighbors in the region for a Palestinian state, because Netanyahu is probably not going to be out of office this year. But is he up to it? We all know the stakes are higher than they've ever been. At this moment, you could make a case that his beginning stages of dementia are no worse than Reagan's as his son once said in an interview that Reagan was never the same after he was shot, which occurred in the first 3 months of his Presidency, and he served for another 8 years after that! Up to now, I've discounted these polls and felt Biden would win. But for you guys who are circling the wagons with Biden, you have to keep in mind, we are talking about Biden, the candidate here. We've already witnessed a decline in Biden! How much worse may it get this year with the pressures of the campaign? Given the present decline, whose to say that the gaffes couldn't become much worse.? And if Biden does win, how much more in another 4 years? Would a Jerry Mahoney dummy with a competent staff and Kamala Harris be worth denying a deranged tyrant who assaults our democracy? People may end up coming to the realization that that is what the Democrats may be selling. "Don't go to the apocalypse," but a lot of people are not convinced that we would be going to an apocalypse. Despite all the hand wringing about the DNC affecting the outcome of the primaries, we might end up being thankful, for their intervention. But how is that going to happen, unless somebody comes forward, and changes the equation?
  21. Right, they couldn't get a 2/3rds majority. Though I'm not sure the charge was technically for leading an insurrection. And he hasn't been found guilty by the courts. So would conviction by Jack Smith automatically fulfill his ineligibility? Somehow, i don't think so. They've been talking that technically Trump could be convicted and be President! Which sounds insane! On a related matter. It definitely could be mind boggling and needs some clarification. Let me see if I got this right. Let's go all the way with this. If the standard is "innocent until proven guilty." That is what Trump's lawyers were arguing about the prospect of Trump becoming President and using Seal Team 6 to kill his political rival, stating that he could only be removed from office 1)if he was impeached and convicted, but we know now 2) he could also be prosecuted in court and found guilty (that is, we know now he has no immunity). Right? But we also know now, by going through the courts they haven't convicted Trump of any crime in 3 years now and he hasn't even been in office!. So even if we got a direct witness from the assassinating seal team saying a standing President ordered the assassination of his political rival. If we can't get an impeachment in the House and a 2/3rds majority in the Senate, (including some aberrant political faction, like MAGAs) to remove the President from office. He could probably stall off his conviction for the rest of his term, because nobody could speed up the due process in the courts, particularly of a standing President. Right? Just trippin'
  22. Yes, MSNBC does keep hammering in their lead stories to the point that they're like CNN in that news wise you hear one hour and if no news breaks, you hear the same stories over and over again each hour! I don't watch any show every day. I thought the hardest hitting guy on MSNBC was Meidi Asan, but he was too anti Israel and got booted off the network. I like Stephanie Ruhle, Nicole Wallace, though I don't get too much chance to see her, and Alex Wagner. I've never quite understood Rachael Maddow's popularity that she is by far the highest paid of the non Fox talent, and she can now make more than any of the others and work one day a week! I was glad they dumped blowhard Chris Matthews for talking about Bernie in early 2020 as if he was some sort of evil socialist figure, but he was really talking for the MSNBC program managers who thought Biden was the only candidate who could beat Trump. I guess that will always be a matter of controversy. I think the hardest hitting interviewer of MAGA and the Republicans is Caitlan Collins on CNN. Republicans and MAGA are much more likely to appear on CNN rather than MSNBC, if they're feeling brave. So W. Did you make it down to Roatan? It's always been too far out of the way so I've never been there but I've heard it's excellent for scuba and snorkeling!
  23. No it's not going to dismiss the case, but it will delay it. My feeling is that you can''t stop people from feeling attraction toward one another. I hope I'm wrong but what I heard is apparently they went on 2 vacations together , with each one paying the separate bills for each vacation. and after their Aruba vacation,Fanni Willis made a deal with to pay him $10,000 a week for his services. It looks crummy. This seemed like the best case to nail Trump with hard evidence before the election and I just wish they could have spared us this.
