 The grift never ends...

Within minutes of Trump announcing that he had been indicted came the first fundraising email from his campaign attempting to raise money off his latest legal trouble:

“Please make a contribution to peacefully stand with me today and prove that YOU will NEVER surrender our country to the radical Left – for 1,500% impact,” he wrote in an email with the subject line: “BREAKING: INDICTED.”

Legal experts react after Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon assigned to Mar-a-Lago case

by Matthew Chapman June 9, 2023,

https://www.rawstory.com/aileen-cannon-2661172143/

“On Friday, ABC News reported that proceedings in the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump for appear to have been initially assigned to Aileen Cannon — the same Trump-appointed judge who tried to block the FBI from reviewing documents seized from Mar-a-Lago, only to be smacked down by the Court of Appeals.

The appointment, which may only be preliminary and a function of the fact that she previously ruled on a search warrant that was part of the same case, triggered an immediate reaction from legal experts”

“.Georgia State law professor Anthony Michael Kreis wrote, "Judge Britt Grant is just waiting here in Atlanta to reverse Cannon" — a reference to an appellate judge on the 11th Circuit, herself another Trump appointee, who both joined the opinion reversing Cannon's blockade on the FBI investigation and scolded Trump's attorneys for misrepresenting facts about the case.”

Cannon was also the judge who drummed up that whole Special Master business that also got thrown out of court.

What a circus.

Trump aide Walt Nauta indicted in classified documents case

By Evan Perez, Sara Murray, Tierney Sneed and Jeremy Herb, CNN Fri June 9, 2023

https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/09/politics/walt-nauta-trump-indicted/index.html

"An aide to former President Donald Trump has been indicted in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the mishandling of classified documents from the Trump White House, two sources familiar with the indictment tell CNN.

Walt Nauta’s indictment is the second in the special counsel’s investigation after Trump was indicted on seven counts on Thursday.

Nauta was with Trump at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club this week.

The specific charges against Nauta have not been revealed.

Trump responded to Nauta’s indictment on his social media Friday, writing, “They are trying to destroy his life, like the lives of so many others, hoping that he will say bad things about ‘Trump.’ He is strong, brave, and a Great Patriot. The FBI and DOJ are CORRUPT!”

Nauta’s involvement in the movement of boxes of classified material at Trump’s Florida resort had been a subject of scrutiny of investigators. Nauta, with the help of a maintenance worker at Mar-a-Lago, moved the boxes before the FBI executed a search warrant on the Palm Beach property last August.”

From today's Bloomberg.Com:

For Timothy O’Brien, Trump’s indictment will test whether Republicans are on the side of law and order or if they remain “hostages to their own immorality and cowardice, and to Trump’s firm sway over about a third of the party’s voters.” The party’s core remains loyal to Trump, with deep allegiances to each other and a self-interest in fomenting anarchy and unrest for political purposes.

“Given how swiftly some Republicans dismissed the severity and bona fides of the pending federal charges — and their behavior for years now — too many of them will continue to favor lawlessness,” Tim writes. “Attacking and undermining the Justice Department to protect Trump and their own prospects has been a core electoral strategy for Republicans.”

Trump has not been indicted on 7 counts.

He's been indicted on 38 counts.

Read the 49 page Indictment document here:

Including pictures of boxes sitting on a stage in the ballroom.

How many wedding guests went through those, do you think?
