Longtime GOP consultant: This election "is the most dangerous period since the Civil War"

NeverTrumper Stuart Stevens on how the party he helped build became a crime cartel ruled by a failed casino owner

https://www.salon.com/2020/08/31/longtime-gop-consultant-this-election-is-the-most-dangerous-period-since-the-civil-war/

I worked for more than 30 years at the highest levels in the Republican Party and even I cannot tell you what being a conservative means right now. Right now, all the Republican Party cares about is power. The Republican Party exists to elect Republicans. That’s it. In that way, it is like a cartel. There is no higher moral good.

The Senate just released a report showing that Trump and his inner circle actively colluded, if not conspired, with Vladimir Putin and his agents to steal the 2020 presidential election. Those efforts are ongoing. Trump and his inner circle are de facto traitors to the United States. How do Republicans reconcile their support of him with their loud claims to be so “patriotic”?

Power for power’s sake. That’s exactly what it is. It’s not complicated. It’s not new. It’s not novel. It’s not elegant. It’s just power.

Why has it taken so long for the chattering class and the American people as a group to wake up to the fact that Trump is a fascist and an authoritarian, and that he and his movement are a threat to the United States?

Donald Trump has always benefited from the inability to imagine Donald Trump. During the primaries there were 16 candidates who spent most of the time attacking each other because all they thought they needed to do to win was be one-on-one with Donald Trump. They believed that the Republican Party was not going to nominate a failed casino owner who talked in public about having sex with his daughter. It was like, are you kidding me? It’s not going to happen. But it did.

"If a historian or political scientist asked you to write the epitaph of this version of the Republican Party, what would it be?

The Republican Party was killed by a changing America. It became a white party and there were not enough white people."

The guy has an Antifa neck tattoo. That would be pretty hardcore if he was a Trump "infiltrator."

Come on Joe.

Come on Robert. You expect infiltrators to be other than hardcore? They are the most hardcore. How else can they lead the lambs to slaughter?
You are right about the devastating political effect of destructive protestors. They are making a Trump victory very likely. And they are not representing the aims of Black Lives Matter - quite the opposite. Agent Provocateurs go back in history at least as far as Saul of Tarsus, otherwise known as Paul. Yet it continues to be an effective strategy, and this is especially true when the organization you have infiltrated - I’m now talking about Antifa - isn’t an organization at all. Think back folks. One day you nevah hoid of em, the next they were christened (what a word to choose eh?) real by The NY Times and all the other fake news outlets (Yup - NYT- cleverly disguised but still not trustworthy). How does that happen? PR firms. No paper trail. All very clever. The only ray of hope we have had through this season of protests were the few times when peaceful protestors caught the infiltrators in the act and got filmed stopping their mayhem. Well, what happened to those stories? Where is the new ‘umbrella man’, the most identifiable of them, now? Who the heck knows? Certainly not in jail. No coverage, no story, just disappears.
I witnessed ‘Antifa’ in Berkeley protesting the University’s decision to allow free speech on campus of some racist dude. Two results? Protestors get a bad rap, Universities are too PC. Great, perfect, if Antifa’s aim was to destroy liberal democracy, as fragile as it is these days. It’s so easy to divert attention from where it is to where you want it to be. It’s just a magic trick. The photo of the guy who supposedly shot someone wearing a Trump Army hat (call it what you want) is so clearly not BLM.
I did some digging a while back trying to understand why BLM, in 2016, chose Bernie Sanders as their target of choice. Wasn’t hard to figure out. The event took place in Seattle, and it was one particular BLM member who grabbed the mike from Bernie and made headlines. Look it up. Her parents were Tea Party folks. And where is the Yea Party now? Another creation of the Real Deep State, not the one that the fascist right has adopted as their rallying cry.
Mr. Wheeler - are you just too myopic to see how you pick and choose which tweet to repost based on your own prejudices?

Everything you think you know about Senator McCarthy is wrong.

McCarthy was looking into the illegal sale of military technology out of Fort Monmouth during WWII. The technology was sold by the industrial giants of the day, including the "Rockefeller Crowd", who had already spent much of the 1930s stealing industrial secrets from the Germans.

The actual Conspirators behind the theft and sale of Military secrets were most likely led by the future Airforce Secretary and Senator, William Stuart Symington.

Symington was the President of Emerson Electric. Julius Rosenberg was a civilian contractor at Ft. Monmouth for Emerson and ended up being the "Communist" patsy. Any quick review of Harry Gold, the Spy Ring courier's, FBI file will show that he was hardly a dedicated Communist and was likely "recruited" by agents of the Rockefeller's with threats of exposure of being a homosexual.

McCarthy was very close to the Kennnedys. He dated two of the sisters and was a frequent visitor to the Compound. When he started to get close to the origins of the Spy Ring out of Ft. Monmouth, the Jewish Communists (Rosenberg, Gold, Greenglass) were put up as Patsies to keep McCarthy and the Kennedy's from digging any deeper and finding out Symington and his cohorts were actually the main culprits.

McCarthy was vilified for leading an anti-Communist "Witch Hunt" with tinges of Antisemitism in order to deflect further inquiry into who Julius and Ethel were unwittingly working for.

Remember when Trump said to his son in the Father's Day interview that "Roswell was very interesting" (or something similar), that is what he was talking about.

Eventually all of  JFK "Researchers" are going to have to reconcile their hatred for Trump with the realization that JFK was assassinated by the same Establishment Cabal that was selling military secrets to the Nazis and Soviets.

The reconciliation will be required because it continued during the JFK Era, most prominently with the sale of HEU out of Apollo PA to the Israelis, then Pakistan in the early 1970s, (see AQ Khan) continuing all the way to the 2000's with the transfer of Uranium One to Rosatom and the sales of centrifuges to Iran.

The Mueller family bridges the pre WWII theft of Industrial Secrets by the "Rockefeller Crowd" and subsequent sale to the Nazi's, to the 2010's exfiltration of Nuclear materials and technology to the Iranians. They are an interesting family.

Robert: Much of what you write about above is supported in this recent book by Joseph Farrell, which I recommend highly.

McCarthy, Monmouth, and the Deep State Paperback – March 31, 2019

Senator Joseph R. McCarthy is just about the last name one would expect to encounter in connection to UFOs, the Roswell Incident, above-top-secret black projects, covert operations, or high financial scandal. But with the 2003 declassification of the Monmouth-McCarthy hearings transcripts, that's exactly what we find. Join author and researcher Joseph P. Farrell for a fascinating examination of little known details about the Monmouth-McCarthy hearings.

I would argue that the MSM's "news", and those that act like that news does not come from a biased agenda, is subversive in its assertion of objectivity.

Was what was written about Nixon very much different?  That was an age when (alleged?) left-leaning rags like Rolling Stone, vehement against Nixon, were slipping into the mainstream or poised to be bought by mainstream media comcerns.

Briefly (you make other interesting points that I'll try to address later) I have an agenda. I am open about it, so "buyer beware" as the saying goes. You obviously know that and so do most of the regulars here on these "Trump" related threads.

That doesn't mean I'm wrong, nor does it mean that my sources are prejudiced nor am I the only one here that is prejudiced. I am willing to argue all day that posting links to MSM sources is indicative of prejudice, just not the same prejudices that I have. I would also argue that the MSM sources are prejudiced, but unlike an outwardly biased Alt-Left or Alt-Right news source, the MSM still tries to maintain the claim of objectivity. I don't.

The MSM and social media platforms have resorted to blatant censorship pertaining to both the Covid Hoax and the protests. That the MSM described RFK Jrs. audience in Berlin on Saturday as a noting more than a bunch of Nazis is demonstrative of the effort to manufacture a narrative that does not exist; that the protests were a gathering of Ultra-Right Wing nuts rather than an anti-Globalist protest of the left, right and center, against government lock-downs that are not only anathema to individual freedom, but not even supported by any science at this point. (The genesis of the protests began with a group of German doctors. I believe in an official advisory capacity to the German government that recommended to Merkel that continuing the lock-downs were not supported by the science, and her subsequent action to ignore the science and there recommendation.)

Listen to the first 5 minutes of the RFK speech, he clearly goes after the MSM's attempts to excuse the protests as nothing more than a Nazi rally.

My bias is on display and unrepentant. Call my intentions nefarious if you think the links that I post are indicative of nefarious narrative.

I would argue that the MSM's "news", and those that act like that news does not come from a biased agenda, is subversive in its assertion of objectivity.

I actually watched the mainstream media morph on the description of the crowd. At one time they correctly named the rally as anti-globalist, and said that it had elements of the right and the left. I’m increasingly uncomfortable with calling things right and left, and like most here I’m extremely critical of so called mainstream media, so I won’t dispute that portion of your analysis. But we very often draw different conclusions when we peer onto the abyss and try to identify what is true.

Well it looks like your first suspicion is wrong; again.

Portland shooter has been identified as Michael Reinoehl. Bloomberg previously did a interview with him, there's video out there on him. The BLM tattoo on his neck assisted in the IDing of him.

Why is the FBI and ATF joining in the Portland investigation if the person identified above is the alleged shooter? It seems the question is still open.

I worry that the bastard could still win, either by fraud (will anybody monitor this election for fraud?), or because his base is underrated because it's shunning pollsters and the mainstream media.  When I read articles like the one below, I wonder if Trump isn't advertising because the 10-1 Biden outspends him on appearances only make his solid base turn away from Biden's appeals in disgust.  I worry that Trump's appeal to "law and order" is going to prevail in a season of riot:

Same shared concerns here David.

Trump people keep quiet in public about their support for him much more so than Trump haters imo.

I think many more people in this country support Trump than the polls show.

Did you know that 28% of self-identified Hispanic voters voted for Trump in 2016?

That high number shocked me. I thought all Hispanics in America hated Trump. But, the numbers say that is not the case.

I think it's possible that more and more Hispanic heritage Americans who have been here from 1 to 3 generations now and have made it in our society actually want the illegal flood of their poor homeland native peoples into our country to end. The more that flood in now just threaten their own job opportunities and crowd their neighborhoods, schools, etc.

I assumed all Hispanics in America sympathized with the poor ones from their native countries trying to get into our country. Guess not.

The 2020 presidential election Republican strategy game will be centered around the electoral college again I think.

Who knows what tricks, games and subterfuge the Repubs will use this time to win those close poll states.
