Whether there was a military connection or not, the DPD was crawling with characters intent on implicating Oswald and aiding and abetting Ruby in eliminating him. What a case!

I just read something about the 488th Army Intelligence Unit on the jfkcountercoup blog. Comprised of about one hundred men, about half of whom served in the Dallas Police Dept. in 1963. That summer they received their annual training/maneuvers at of all places The Pentagon. Supposedly this would have been extremely unusual. Maybe a sign that the unit was preparing for some kind of imminent "big event". Reading about all of the nefarious activities by Dallas law enforcement in the aftermath of the JFKA, kind of makes you wonder what was really going on! Supposedly this is covered in Coup in Dallas. Has anybody read and recommend it?

I read the first few chapters of Harvey and Lee but moved on to other things. The evidence described in the book of two different guys sharing an identity seems compelling. I am having a problem, however, understanding what the impetus would have been for "someone" to create doppelgangers.

I don't know about "dozens" of confessions but the E. Howard Hunt letter to his son St. John (the one where he put LBJ at the top of the conspiracy) looks like a confession.

I am sure that the "Oswald did it" adherents are aware of this, but I have never seen an "innocent" explanation for why the CIA would take such action with the Zapruder film. Perhaps there is something in the EF archives.

Have any researchers or paid specialists tried to correlate the first gunshot impulse on the tape with a frame or frames on the Zapruder film?

Any idea if any of these details were in the Warren Report, or do we only know this because of assassination researchers?

The mob would rub out Ruby's sister if he balked at taking out Oswald? I mean, it sounds like great movie material but is it "real"? Sure would be nice if somebody talked but they are almost all gone now.

Not aware of any financial records that might show Ruby earning some kind of windfall. Or did the higher-ups get paid for what Ruby did? Did the higher-ups have something on Ruby?

What about Jack Ruby? He was very much mob-connected. There are those phone records of him making calls to his mob connections pre-JFKA. Why would the mob want to silence Oswald?
