  1. Thankfully they added Manchester to the U.K. tour & I managed to get a ticket! I've seen him 'live' in every decade from the 60's on, so I have him on my mind. I do agree with you that monarchy epitomises and reinforces inequality, hierarchy and unearned privilege. But I'm cynical of equality. Does it exist in any society? Even a herd of cows has a matriarch. Whatever the political system, inequality exists, seems to me human nature.
  2. Nothing was deliveredAnd I tell this truth to youNot out of spite nor angerBut simply because it's true
  3. 'Equality' I spoke the word as if a wedding vow. Ah but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
  4. Bill's thread begins with "The Secret Service and the FBI reconstructed Oswald's steps" Sadly, in the JFK case the Secret Service and the FBI do not fill me with any kind of confidence of their integrity or diligence in getting to any kind of truth. The FBI clearly had their verdict within hours and steered the Warren Commission as well as the DPD to their agenda. Hoover filtered and suppressed evidence that did not point to the lone assassin conclusion. The FBI's reconstruction of Oswald's supposed journey from the sniper's nest to the 2nd floor lunchroom, along with the timing of Baker's arrival at same was made to fit up Oswald and any evidence to challenge this supposition was quashed. Hoover's agenda of no conspiracy & three shots from the 6th floor of the TSBD, fired from the Carcano rifle, ignoring Teague as long as possible, ignoring ballistic evidence and suppressing spectrographic analyses etc., etc. As for the Secret Service, just ask Abraham Bolden. What integrity do they have as late as the 1990's with their destruction of documents required by the A.R.R.B.? Not to mention the service that CIA provided for the H.S.C.A. Any faith in trotting out theories propounded by these government agencies, be they in the JFK, RFK or MLK cases are incomprehensible to me.
  5. As a U.K. member of this Forum, I find it quite touching to read all the above posts. I was born in the year that Elizabeth had her coronation, so it really appears to be the end of a long era in British history. My family tree contains some American cousins and I am always surprised at their admiration of British royalty, as I myself am no royalist. In U.K. the British press and media feed almost a daily dose, almost 365 days of the year, of royal copy that I find cringeworthy. Having said that, Elizabeth's reign must measure against the greatest of our monarchs, Alfred, Edward III or the first Elizabeth. As to the future King Charles III, he and his brother Andrew are my least considered members of this family....the future of the house of Windsor should be interesting.
  6. Well, he certainly will not have first-hand knowledge, AND we all know Mafia did play a roll, with Ruby etc. As I posted above, I would be interested to listen to what info he has....and then judge if he is just on a money spinner.
  7. I'll have to bow to your knowledge of the subject Norman. Can't say I can tell a capodecina from a caponata. Just going off the tv intro that he was "one of New York's Mafia families and ranked 18th in a list of the wealthiest and powerful bosses." Shame he didn't have time in this short interview to elaborate more on what he had been told about JFKA.
  8. He has 'more of a backstory' but, unfortunately, has not time to elaborate on the tv programme.
  9. Ron, Sure, my library shelves are full, I now have piles of books stacked on the floor. I need another bookshelf. I also have all the Warren volumes and books on RFK & MLK assassinations. I haven't obtained all these signatures myself. I have inherited a few from Ian Griggs & Mathew Smith's collections.
  10. Chris, make that two of the eleven presentations presented 'live'. Johnny Cairns cannot make it down from Edinburgh, so his talk will be by video link too. Is this symptomatic of a falling off of interest? I don't think so, but we have gone through Covid lockdown and now a looming energy crisis pushing up costs of almost everything, so finances are tight. Over the last few years we have lost some giants in the research community through age/infirmity and retirements. Our founder Ian Griggs and Mathew Smith sadly passed, Malcolm Blunt has taken a well-deserved 'backseat'. Barry Keane has moved out into the wilds of Cymru and infirmity has caught up with regular presenters Alaric Rosman and Bill Beadle. I think things are a serious reflection of our aging membership. Nobody is getting any younger, I'm hitting 70 in some months' time. I think it has been discussed on this Forum just what the JFK case means, if anything, to younger generations. Will the group slowly become extinct? Who knows. There are societies that still study and discuss the psyche of Richard III and probe the sad demise of the princes in the tower in 1483. Yes, 2023 the sixtieth anniversary may regenerate interest and new research. Chris, it would be great to meet you once again in Canterbury next year.
  11. Michael, DPUK have never 'live streamed' our Canterbury conference, but all the presentations should be loaded onto the DPUK website at some point later. Membership of the group is not limited to the U.K. We do have members in Europe, U.S. and the Far East, and we hold a high number of monthly Zoom presentations. I know the N. Yorks moors, my son now lives on Ilkley moor. God knows what the U.S. army was doing in Harrogate! Escorting old ladies to the tea shops. Sean reckons you were manning the early warning radars at Fylingdales!
  12. Gerry, It's ages since I read on this, so pinch of salt required here, but from memory Walker was sat at his window with the blinds open and the room lights on, but the window closed. The shot supposedly hit the wood frame of the window which it is believed deflected the bullet, causing it to miss Walker, and hit the wall of his room. So, the shot must have gone through the pane of glass.
  13. Well it seems like my book collection has been collected over decades, the rest over the past two decades. I'm a fully qualified JFK anorak, much to my wife's displeasure.
  14. Ben, your last line "nothing quite adds up" is where I sit on the fence in the Walker caper. No curtain rods, LHO we are supposed to believe went by bus with his Carcano under his coat and from just yards missed the target. Afterwards he buries the rifle! Well, as Gil Jesus' recent thread on the accuracy of the FBI test shots shows, the missed shot is about the only thing I can believe of this incident with the Carcano firing high and to the right at targets just 25 yards away! Then again, the Carcano didn't fire 30.06. Nah, 2 + 2 don't add up to 4 in so many aspects of Mr Oswald's life.
  15. J.P.C. My JFK memorabilia is mostly in books signed by the authors, which include Mark Lane, Josiah Thompson, Penn Jones, Robert Groden, Michael Eddowes, John H. Davis, Ed Hoffman, Craig Zirbel, J. Gary Shaw & Larry Harris, Walt Brown, Mathew Smith, Cyril Wecht, Bill Sloan, Beverley Oliver, Ron Lewis, Connie Kritzberg, Norman Mailer, Madeleine Brown, Noel Twyman, Larry Hancock, William Law, Ian Griggs, Joan Mellen, Brian Andersen, Dick Russell, James Douglass, Doug Horne, Russ Baker, Barry Ernest, Judyth Vary Baker, James Tague, Jim Marrs, Barry Keane, Mark Bridger, Flip DeMay, Anita Dickason, Gayle Nix Jackson, Steve Cameron, Michael Marcades and Jim DiEugenio. I will also obtain Malcolm Blunt's signature on my copy of 'The Devil is in the Details' at this year's DPUK Conference. At every DPUK Canterbury conference an auction is held of books and JFK coins etc. So, over the years I have collected various sets of U.S. coins including a U.S. Proof set of Liberty coins showing U.S. presidents including JFK along with a set of one dollar, half dollar, quarter, cent, dime coins, + a U.S. Proof set minted in 1972 with set of coins & U.S. presidents including JFK in presentation case + same from 1967 in presentation case + a JFK half dollar 12g 90% silver minted in 1964. (I am in the process of attempting to paint acrylic on canvas of a Dealey Plaza scene for this auction in Canterbury, which could raise hundreds of thousands of £ from the room + international bidders for DPUK's funds! 🎨🖼️🤣 In the book room at Lancer in 2013 some bint was selling a model of the 1961 Lincoln Continental 'X-100' with all the figures seated in their places....for $200!! I really fancied it to buy, never seen anything like it before but the price was a rip off. Anyway, in time I inherited the very same 'Kennedy car' from Ian Griggs' collection when he passed at a tiny fraction of the cost in Dallas. I also have from Ian's collection a bronze bust of JFK. Included in my man cave is a framed Altgens photograph showing X-100, the S.S. 'Queen Mary' and the TSBD, signed by Clint Hill. I can also include the usual JFK fridge magnets, 'JFK for President-Leadership for the 1960's' etc bought from the 6th floor Museum.
  16. Jonathan, Chris is still a member of this forum, and, although not often has posted once or twice in recent months.
  17. So, any movement on this Greg? I will confess to you that when you originally posted your Craford piece on the fingerprints on Tippit's car, I contacted a researcher/author on the JFKA case, (who shall remain nameless) on your behalf, to see if there was interest in assisting you in this quest. Sadly, a couple months on & no reply to my e-mail. O.K. if you ever discover the prints belong to Craford, or for that matter Oswald, that would be a momentous discovery! However, if the prints cannot be linked to any known set on record that would lean over to Oswald's innocence. All in all, keep on trucking with your astute investigation.
  18. OK thanks Ron. Clearly the Cutler book isn't available to read. I'll pass on the CIA angle, Hunt in red wig with voice altering device is a little too much for my mirror.
  19. Lt. Day was given the envelope later that evening, it contained only two cases, the third had been removed by Cpt. Fritz and was being held by him. Day marked the two remaining cases with his initials and forwarded them to the FBI lab. These two cases were subsequently given FBI designations C7 and C38 and Commission Exhibit Nos 544 and 545. Both of these cases had marks identified as having been produced by the chamber of the Carcano rifle. One of them had a set of marks identified as having been produced by the magazine follower, (the spring-tensioned lever that presses up the last cartridge in the clip) of the Carcano, while the other showed marks that could have come only from the bolt of the Carcano. Both of these cases showed marks indicating that each had been loaded into a weapon (not necessarily Oswald's) at least twice. The remaining cartridge case (designated C6 and CE543 differed from the other two in a number of respects. It was kept by the DPD until the FBI demanded it from Capt. Fritz on Nov. 28th It's most astonishing characteristic is a sharp dent in the lip of such magnitude to prevent the fitting of a projectile in the opening. In it's present condition it could not have been fired in any rifle on 22nd November. The suggestion is that CE543 was never fired , but was dropped by one of the assassins as a means of throwing the subsequent investigation off the track and/or setting up the 'patsy'. Certain other features of CE543 urge a conclusion even more strongly. Marks found on the dented case indicated that it had been loaded in and extracted from a weapon at least three times. In addition, it had three sets of marks on the base that were not found on the others or on any of the numerous test cartridges obtained from Oswald's rifle. A ballistics expert testified that these anomalous marks were possibly caused by a dry firing run-that is, by inserting the empty cartridge case in the breach while practising with the rifle. Of all the various marks discovered on this case, only one set links it to Oswald's rifle, and this set was identified as having come from the magazine follower. Yet the magazine follower marks only the last cartridge in the clip, a position that must have been occupied on 22nd November not by the dented case but by the live round subsequently found in the chamber. Thus, unlike the other two cases that bear marks from the chamber and bolt of Oswald's rifle, the only mark borne by the dented case, linking it to Oswald's rifle, could not have been incurred on 22nd November. All this excites our suspicion with respect to CE543, the dented cartridge case. What is most surprising- perhaps conclusive-about this cartridge case is that it lacks a characteristic impression along the side exhibited in one form or other by all the other cartridges we know to have been seated in the chamber of Oswald's rifle. Apologies for bumping the thread.
  20. That sums up Chappaquiddick Chris. + moving off topic again....I'm a lot more persuaded that JFK Jr's death was extremely sus. Witnesses on Martha's Vineyard seeing explosion in the sky!
  21. Ok cool Andrew, I think 'flippant' is allowed on here. Pinney's book has a scientific slant that Columbo would be proud of, & I thought produced a logical explanation & no spooks involved. Maybe Ron has other info. I've only come across the Nixon/Hunt interest. Also Ted's biography 'True Compass' is a wet job on the topic. My verdict:-EMK guilty of manslaughter.
  22. I don't want to hijack this Kilgallen thread but I was interested in Andrew and Ron's belief in CIA being somehow behind Chappaquiddick. I agree with Jim's view of Damore's book, I have not read the DeWitt/Lange from 1993, but found Pinney's 'Chappaquiddick Speaks' from 2017 quite logical in its verdict, a Ted cover-up. Andrew/Ron, What evidence or suspicions for CIA?
