  1. That is very nice. How do we know that Dr. Malcolm Perry's interview with ABC occurred on 11/22/1963? I am not doubting this. I merely want to footnote this properly.
  2. Who was Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade? 1) He used to work for LYNDON JOHNSON. 2) He used to be an FBI agent for J. EDGAR HOOVER, who lived as a neighbor of LBJ for 19 years from 1943-1961 and was a good friend of the Johnson family. 3) He was a former Navy roommate of and good friend of JOHN CONNALLY, who, of course, was a longtime friend and inner circle political ally of LBJ. John Connally spent a lot of time stateside with LBJ in California during WWII. LBJ was basically screwing his mistress Alice Glass in California while he was taking photographs and I think, speech lessons, for his political career. Henry Wade used to work for both Lyndon Johnson and the FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover. And he was John Connally’s roommate in the Navy QUOTE He studied law at the University of Texas, joined the Navy, became an FBI agent, worked for Lyndon Johnson, and then in 1950 was elected Dallas County prosecutor, a job he held down without challenge for 36 years. UNQUOTE https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/retropolis/wp/2018/08/21/roe-v-wades-forgotten-loser-the-story-of-dallas-prosecutor-henry-wade/ [“Roe v. Wade’s forgotten loser: The remarkable story of Dallas prosecutor Henry Wade,” Michael Rosenweld, Washington Post, 9-5-2018] Henry Wade was a Navy roommate of John Connally during WWII and they were good friends. Connally, of course, was a longtime LBJ inner circle aide and supporter https://history-matters.com/archive/jfk/wc/wcvols/wh5/pdf/WH5_Wade.pdf Henry Wade, Warren Commission testimony of June 8, 1964: QUOTE John Connally, you know, was shot also – and he was, he used to be a roommate of mine in the Navy and we were good friends, and are now – and the first thing I did then was went out to the hospital to see how he was getting along. 3. What if Johnny Cairns wanted an autograph from Charlie Manson? Does that he means he suddenly thinks Manson was a good guy? Maybe he just wanted an autograph of an important historical figure. Or what if I see O.J. Simpson on the golf course and ask for an autograph? I still think he murdered his ex-wife. People collect JFK assassination paraphernalia.
  4. Key members of JFK’s inner circle, Dave Powers and Kenny O’Donnell believed that shots came from behind the fence on the Grassy Knoll and they told this to Tip O’Neil, a former Speaker of the House from Massachusetts Here's a paragraph from that article printed in the September 15, 2004 issue of Salon.com featuring David Talbot https://www.salon.com/2004/09/15/warren/ QUOTE Bobby was not the only member of President Kennedy's inner circle who believed there was a conspiracy. Presidential aides Kenny O'Donnell and Dave Powers, key members of JFK's Irish Mafia, were in a trailing limousine in the Dallas motorcade. Both of them later told House Speaker Tip O'Neill that they heard two shots from behind the fence on the grassy knoll. "That's not what you told the Warren Commission," a stunned O'Neill replied, according to his 1989 memoir, "Man of the House. "You're right," O'Donnell said. "I told the FBI what I had heard, but they said it couldn't have happened that way and that I must have been imagining things." So not wanting to "stir up more pain and trouble for the family," O'Donnell told the commission what the FBI wanted him to. 5. Braggard Hugh Aynesworth told Shirley Martin in 1964 that Ruth Paine and Marina Oswald were lesbian lovers. And he told me circa 2011 that Marina Oswald was having sex with her bodyguards. So yes I can see that.
  6. Who cares what the CIA's IG report says about the Kennedys and supposedly how they were not authorizing assassinations against Fidel Castro. Since when would the CIA even internally admit that a president was trying (or had tried) to murder a foreign leader? It seems like something the CIA is congenitally unable to admit. From my vantage point the Kennedys, at some point, were trying to kill/murder Fidel Castro. I believe the CIA guys who said they were. If you were an enemy of Robert Kennedy, you stayed an enemy of his for life (see Lyndon Johnson). This does not mean that JFK, at the same time through Jean Daniel, could not have been trying to reconcile with Castro. Because he was definitely doing that.
  7. How is FOX any worse than the other mass media filth who have told you for 60 years that a Lone Nut Killed JFK? For example, MSNBC.
  8. For me, an intentional miss is just too much for me. Either Oswald was involved in the plot or he was not. I vote on not involved in plot and being a "pre-selected patsy for the JFK assassination." FUN FACT: Completely innocent CIA patsy Lee Harvey Oswald considered JFK to be "the best president of his lifetime." Source: Michael Paine: https://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/8118362-181/michael-paine-debated-politics-with Yes, imho, there were MULTIPLE shooters on the 6th floor TSBD and they took the elevator down and ran out the back of the TSBD and got into a car.
  9. There is the "Chicago Plot" where nothing happened and then there is the volcanic argument between Lyndon Johnson and the Kennedys that occurred on Thursday, June 29, 1961. [Google says that the sun will set in Washington, D.C. on June 29, 2024 at 8:38PM, but in 2024 we are on Daylight Savings Time. I do not think Washington, D.C. was on Daylight Savings Time in 1961 so the sun would have gone down at 7:38PM on June 29, 1961. Abraham Bolden -says it was about 6:30 – 7PM, the sun had just gone down on June 29, 1961 (so it may have been later then 7PM if the sun was setting at 7:38PM) when LBJ came storming into the White House. It was “kind of dark outside” said Bolden and it was after working hours at the White House. LBJ Passed Secret Service station – goes all the way end then takes a left and that will take you directly to the Oval Office. Lyndon Johnson opened the door to the Oval Office. Bolden thinks the Kennedys were expecting him. Abraham Bolden thinks that Obama personally intervened with the Obama Administration behind the scenes to get him a pardon after columnist Mary Mitchell wrote an article about Bolden. Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun Times, wrote an article about Abraham Bolden striving for a pardon. Phil Singer contacted Mary Mitchell with information about Abraham Bolden. Abraham Bolden is convinced that behind the scenes, in response to the Mary Mitchell article that Barack Obama contacted the Biden Administration and got a presidential pardon moving for Bolden. Mary Mitchell has a lot of pull in Chicago and is a well read and well-connected columnist for the Chicago Sun Times. [Phil Singer, interviewed on 2/25/24 (12 noon to 12:50PM) says he is often in contact with Mary Mitchell. Abraham has lived in same house for over 60 years. Abraham is a native Chicagoan. Phil wants to honor Abraham in many ways.] Abraham Bolden, first White House Black Secret Service agent, still trying at 86 to clear his name - Chicago Sun-Times (suntimes.com) Columnist Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun-Times (who is plugged into the Chicago black power structure) wrote “First White House Black Secret Service agent still trying to clear his name” on April 23, 2021. One year later on April 26, 2022, President Joe Biden pardoned Abraham Bolden: https://www.law.umich.edu/special/exoneration/Pages/casedetail.aspx?caseid=6250 Bolden was asked by Morrow why didn’t you tell this anecdote about Lyndon Johnson having a violent argument with the Kennedys in the Oval Office on June 29, 1961. Bolden’s reply: “I was a young man and I was afraid of getting my head blown off and I had a family to take care of.” Bolden admitted in his later years he was still not publicly telling his LBJ-Kennedy blow up argument story because he did not want to do anything to jeopardize the presidential pardon he had been working decades to get. Bolden told this LBJ-Kennedys story privately to people who he had confidence in. After LBJ stormed out of the Oval Office, he looked over at Bolden and said, “Who is this boy?” When asked why didn’t you tell your LBJ-Kennedy violent argument in your 2008 book The Echo From Dealey Plaza, Bolden replied: “My book was not written to be an expose. It was written about my life. How it [the JFK assassination, my going to jail] has affected me and his family.” Abraham was in jail for 3 and ½ years in jail. Abraham says he started about June 6th, 1961 at the White House for the Secret Service. Started June 6th, 1961 at the Oval Office. Abraham remembers LBJ yelling at the Kennedys “Are you trying to send me to prison over some goddamn cotton?” [This is very likely related to the Billie Sol Estes scandal for LBJ and the June 3, 1961 murder of U.S. agricultural official Henry Marshall who was investigating LBJ’s top cash cow Billie Sol Estes over his abuse of the cotton allotments program.] [Phil Singer – many conversations with Abraham Bolden. Singer thinks Bolden was scared, there would be very serious repercussions, even in 2008 he did not put the LBJ-Kennedy explosive argument in his book because he still wanted to get a pardon. 20 years ago his wife Barbara died; his sister died and two of his children died around age 60 within one month of each other, very soon afterward Bolden had a stroke. Phil Singer has often tried to get PR in the media for Abraham.] Abraham Bolden’s daughter Ahvia Maria Andricenia Bolden Reynolds passed away on October 2, 2020: https://memorials.cagememorial.com/ahvia-reynolds/4352523/obit.php?&printable=true Abraham Bolden’s son Abraham Wendell Bolden, Jr. (1958-2020) passed away on August 22, 2020: https://www.thornridgefuneralhomes.com/obituary/abraham-bolden-jr#:~:text=Abraham%20Wendell%20Bolden%2C%20Jr.%2C,he%20excelled%20academically%20in%20school. 10. Nice effort, my friend. But I think both of those web sites only go back to 1996. I think my best solution is to join the NYT to get access to its archives and go to the business section and look up LTV's stock price for every month from late 1963 to early 1969 LTV on Wikipedia: Ling-Temco-Vought - Wikipedia Btw LTV in November, 1963 was a pure play on electronics and making planes for the government. For the next few years it was quite a "defense contractor" stock. Sometime in 1967 it's stock price hit $169. Wiki: QUOTE With low interest rates allowing the company to borrow huge sums, Ling built one of the major 1960s conglomerates. As long as the target company's earnings exceeded the interest on the loan (or corporate bond), or the company's price/earnings ratio was less than that of Ling-Temco-Vought's stock, the conglomerate became more profitable overall. Given the fairly unsophisticated stock research of the era, the company appeared to be growing without bound, and its share price rose. In 1964, Ling turned Ling-Temco-Vought into a holding company and established three public companies as subsidiaries, LTV Aerospace, LTV Ling Altec, and LTV Electrosystems. LTV Aerospace received assets for Vought and a large part of Temco Aircraft. LTV Ling Altec contained Altec Electronics and other properties, and the rest went to LTV Electrosystems. The intention was to make the sum of the parts appear to be worth more than the whole. Ling used this technique to raise capital and buy more companies.[1] Portions of LTV Electrosystems were later spun off to E-Systems, then part of Raytheon IIS, and since 2002, part of L-3 Communications-Integrated Systems (L-3/IS). 11. Let me tell you something about Lyndon Johnson, who I have read a lot about. In fact - Robert Caro eat dirt - I am the World's Foremost Authority on Lyndon Johnson. If LBJ knew the Kennedys were out to utterly destroy him in the fall of 1963 (which they were), he WOULD NOT HAVE RESTED UNTIL HE HAD KILLED OR DESTROYED THE KENNEDYS, ONE OR BOTH OF THEM. Lyndon Johnson was a man who was a "malignantly narcissistic criminal psychopath" as well as a "pathological liar" of the first degree; there are so many examples of his psychopathy; I collect them. LBJ was a man with a very thin skin who could not take any criticism whatsoever. LBJ very greatly feared public humiliation, exposure or any type of criticism at all. The slightest criticism of LBJ would throw him into a rage. https://robertmorrowpoliticalresearchblog.blogspot.com/2020/07/lyndon-johnson-was-acutely-aware-by-nov.html And in November of 1963 the Kennedys were within days of dropping a Hydrogen bomb amount of national humiliation on his head with massive, coordinated media exposes into his epic corruption. In the mind of LBJ who knew all about this, this was an IMMINENT DEATH THREAT. The other thing one needs to know about LBJ is that he was a MICROMANGER. Read biographies and anecdotes about LBJ and this theme comes out again and again. LBJ would call his minions 24 hours per day, riding them to complete any task that he had set them on. LBJ was detail oriented, intelligent, devious, Machiavellian and a careful planner who "followed through" maniacally on every project/crime that he was focused on. Rufus Youngblood, his Secret Service man, said LBJ would give you instructions on how to turn a screw. LBJ used to manage his ranch and his TV/radio business in microscopic detail. For the 1957 Civil Rights Act, which LBJ wanted to pass so he would be slightly more palatable to Democratic liberals who hated his guts, LBJ took books home and became an expert on civil rights law, not that he cared one whit about civil rights. Texas Reporter Sarah McLendon recalls seeing LBJ have a mass meeting in his office as he masterfully solved a very thorny clashing bureaucracies problem. McLendon saw LBJ carefully identify all the problems and then slice and dice his way through the thicket until the problem was solved. Lyndon Johnson was a micromanager, detailed oriented; he had an all-consuming fear of public humiliation, embarrassment and exposure; he hated the Kennedys with the fire of 100 white suns and he was acutely aware that in November 1963 the Kennedys and pulled out their long knives for him. Even if LBJ delegated the actual shooting of JFK to people in military/anti-Castro Cubans, he micromanaged the JFK assassination with whichever plotters he was on board with. I actually think LBJ was planning to murder JFK as early as the summer, 1960 Democratic convention and would do it eventually if the Democrats won in 1960. LBJ's right hand man Bobby Baker on inauguration day 1961 predicted to Don Reynolds that JFK would not finish his first term and that he would die a violent death. Edward Epstein wrote about Bobby Baker anecdote in Esquire Magazine in 1966. Dallas Times Herald reporter Margaret Meyer (who used to work for LBJ) said she never saw a MORE UNHAPPY MAN than LBJ was on the night of 11/08/1960 when he was elected vice president. She said LBJ "looked like he had lost his last friend on earth." [Merle Miller, Lyndon-An Oral Biography, p. 273] All I know is there was pure hate between LBJ and the Kennedys before and during the 1960 Democratic primary race; all through JFK's presidency. At his birthday mere days before the JFK assassination, Robert Kennedy was given a VOODOO DOLL OF LYNDON JOHNSON with pins stuck in it. And there was nothing but pure hate between the Kennedys and LBJ post JFK assassination as well (public comments and photo ops be damned). My take on the JFK assassination has Lyndon Johnson as the micromanaging ringleader in concert with certain of his Texas power broker pals/oil men/defense contractors/lawyer who used their deep personal connections to military and intelligence to orchestrate the murder of JFK. A subgroup of these would be some anti-Castro Cubans and CIA-connected people from the Operation Mongoose program which Gen. Edward Landale (also a JFK murder plotter) ran for the Kennedys. A prime example of LBJ's micromanagement of the JFK assassination would be his listening to a walkie talkie turned down low with Secret Service agent Rufus Youngblood while the Dallas motorcades was proceeding. This comes from Senator Yarborough who witnessed this and there is no innocent explanation for this behavior. Jim Marrs interviewed Sen. Yarborough about this. Lunch at the Trade Mart was mere minutes away; why could LBJ just calmly sit in the back seat of his Lincoln convertible and enjoy the fresh air outside? Why be on the walkie talkie? What are you so concerned about LBJ?
  12. Thank-you. Also, do you know where I can get monthly quotes on LTV stock from October, 1963 to January, 1969? Anything easy to find on the internet? Or do I have to dive into old newspaper archives?
  13. Now, Gil Jesus, those are some truly awful things to say about Roy Truly. I actually think Roy Truly and Marrion Baker saw Oswald (who said he was a patsy) on the second floor TSBD. But having given my little opinion, is it true that Roy Truly worked for the man, D.H. Byrd (a close personal friend of Lyndon Johnson - a raging Kennedy-hater who knew in real time the Kennedys were out to utterly destroy him in November, 1963) whose wife Mrs. Byrd and business partner James Ling together through the Alpha Omega Corporation bought 132,000 shares of LTV stock in November, 1963 at about $16 per share and that stock later traded as high as $169 per share after LTV feasted off of the Vietnam War and LBJ's largesse? LBJ insiders Dallas investors D.H. Byrd and James Ling bought 132,000 shares of LTV stock at $16/share in November, 1963. By 1967 the military contractor was trading at a whopping $169/share https://robertmorrowpoliticalresearchblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/lyndon-johnsons-dallas-tx-insider-pals.html So is it really true that Roy Truly actually worked for D.H. Byrd, a man who actually kept the 6th floor TSBD so-called "sniper's window" as a trophy in his 16,000 sq. foot home located at 6909 Vassar Avenue (a home later owned by T. Boone Pickens and worth about $15 million in 2023) along with the heads of other animals that he had killed as a big game hunter?
  14. Does anyone know where to easily find the stock price of LTV Ling Temco Vaught on a monthly basis from October, 1963 to January, 1969? I guess I could go throw newspaper archives, business section where the stock quotes used to be.
  15. The Kansas City Star, 12/4/1963 (Service of the Chicago Daily News) QUOTE Oswald hurried out, it was about 1:15 p.m. Mrs. Roberts said she noticed him stand momentarily at a nearby bus stop, and then walk South on Beckley. UNQUOTE Thank you for acquitting Oswald of the Tippit murder in such an efficient fashion. Tippit murder occurring at about 1:06PM for those who do not know.
  16. I don't think so. Ron Paul in Austin, TX in 2009 told me, he guessed, that Fidel Castro was behind the JFK assassination. I think Ron Paul got "red pilled" over the next 15 years by reading Lew Rockwell's web page and the numerous JFK assassination articles that have been posted there. He is now a full blown believer in a high level domestic conspiracy to murder John Kennedy.
  17. The Marrion Baker affidavit was faked to match the 12:44PM Dallas police radio dispatches there were sent out to immediately frame the "pre-selected patsy" for the JFK assassination. In the aftermath of the JFK assassination, the Dallas police went on a coordinated rampage of lying and faking and fabricating stuff to implicate patsy Oswald who called himself a "patsy" before he was murdered in police custody. I have a blog post based on Bill Simpich's work: Absolute Proof Lee Harvey Oswald was a *pre-selected patsy* for the JFK assassination: “5 feet 10 inches, 165 pounds” https://robertmorrowpoliticalresearchblog.blogspot.com/2023/01/5-feet-10-inches-165-pounds-is-absolute.html Dallas Police Dispatcher was immediately using Marguerite Oswald’s description of Lee given to Dallas FBI in May, 1960. One more thing, Steve, the Dallas police at the Tippit slaying did the same thing. One of them filed an affidavit saying that one of the witnesses saw the murderer of Tippit and he was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 165 pounds. This was coordinated lying by the Dallas police to frame Oswald for the Tippit murder too, which was used to blame Oswald for the JFK assassination.
  18. This question is for EVERYONE. At exact time was Roy Truly "checking our employees, and did not find Lee.?" I am referring to Truly's 11/23/63 affidavit. What is the best estimate for that so called "roll call" which was really an informal checking to see who is here and who is not.
  19. First of all, I want to say I know "affidavits" can be fabricated, but what do you say about this (notice how Baker is trying to hard to get the "frame Oswald" description correct - Baker comes in at 5'9", 165 pounds, whereas the Dallas Police dispatcher was sprewing out Marguerite Oswald's May, 1960 description of her son as "5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds." Couldn't Baker reasonably say I made a mistake as to which floor in the TSBD that I saw Oswald on? Officer Marrion Baker Affidavit of 11/22/1963 describes Oswald as approximately 30 years old, 5’9”, 165 pound, dark hair and wearing a light brown jacket” [Affidavit of M. L. Baker, November 22, 1963] - Page 1 of 2 - The Portal to Texas History (unt.edu)
  20. Greg Doudna - furthermore, anyone can make an offhanded remark that in most political systems in the world, change only comes through violence. Most countries are not democracies. I does not mean the person saying that is ready to start tossing Molotov cocktails. That means the social order is held through violence or implied violence if you get out of line. And it seems, for the most part, only violence can "change" those social orders. I think MIchael Paine from 1964 onward was under pressure to present Oswald in the least favorable light and only as the decades wore on did the start to say stuff like Oswald thought that JFK was the best president in his lifetime.
  21. Early 1967: Jim Garrison was privately telling people around New Orleans that that the JFK assassination could be “traced back” to Lyndon Johnson or that LBJ could be “found in it someplace.” Source Hale Boggs as told by Attorney General Ramsey Clark to LBJ on Feb. 20, 1967 [Hale Boggs was a longtime friend of LBJ and his wife Lindy Boggs was best friends with Lady Bird Johnson. Ramsey Clark is the son of Tom Clark, a longtime LBJ supporter. Marvin Watson was LBJ's chief of staff and inner circle henchman. Barefoot Sanders was an inner circle LBJ henchman and later a federal judge.] https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2004/06/the-assassination-tapes/302964/ You can hear the LBJ-Ramsey Clark conversation on this website: http://impiousdigest.com/dumbxxxxs/ Scroll down the page to the 1967 LBJ-Ramsey Clark conversation – Jim Garrison was saying LBJ was involved, not Hale Boggs who had told Jim Garrison that the Warren Report was garbage. Author Joan Mellen had found out by talking to Jim Garrison’s wife Phyllis that it was Rep. Hale Boggs and not Sen. Russell Long who cued Jim Garrison into knowing there was a dead rat in the JFK assassination official story. Interestingly, this critical conversation between LBJ and Ramsey Clark is on the internet at the Miller Center: https://millercenter.org/the-presidency/secret-white-house-tapes/conversation-ramsey-clark-february-20-1967 The topics of the conversation were “Jim Garrison Investigation of JFK Assassination, Drew Pearson, Fidel Castro and Jimmy Hoffa” [“The Assassination Tapes,” Max Holland, The Atlantic, June, 2004. QUOTE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 1967, 9:40 A.M. Call to Acting Attorney General Ramsey Clark CLARK: I think that what he [Jim Garrison] is workin' on must be the associations that Oswald had in the three or four months that he was down there [in New Orleans] in '62 [and] '63. I doubt ... I think it'd just be incredible if he [Garrison] had anything that went beyond that. I think this subject is so volatile and emotional, though, that it could get confused and obscured. [Uncomfortably and hesitantly] I had heard that Hale Boggs was sayin' [that] he—Garrison—was sayin' that ... or privately around town [was saying] that it [the assassination] could be traced back [to you] ... or that you could be found in it someplace, which ... I can't believe he's been sayin' that. The Bureau says they haven't heard any such thing, and they got lots of eyes and ears. 'Course, that was a [credible] fella like Hale Boggs. But Hale gets pretty emotional about people [like Garrison] that he really doesn't like, and people who have fought him and been against him, and I would be more inclined to attribute it to that. Either that, or this guy Garrison [is] just completely off his rocker. JOHNSON: Who did Hale tell this to? CLARK [somewhat in disbelief]: Apparently Marvin [Watson].1 JOHNSON [aside to Watson, who was in the room]: [Did] Hale tell you that—Hale Boggs—that this fella [Garrison, this] district attorney down there, said that this is traced to me or somethin'? WATSON: Privately he [Garrison] was using your name as having known about it [the assassination]. I said [to Boggs], Will you give this information to Barefoot Sanders? Ramsey was out of town—this was Saturday night. [Boggs] said, I sure will. So I asked the operator to get Barefoot and Ramsey together, and they did. JOHNSON [to Clark]: Yeah, I don't know about it. They don't ever let me in on it, Marvin and Jake [Jacobsen] over here, so you have to call me direct. CLARK: Well— JOHNSON: They just think this stuff's for them. CLARK: Such nutty things that ... it's awfully explosive but ... The press, really, has quite a jaundiced eye about it ... and about Garrison, so far I had several press interviews out in Des Moines [on] Saturday evening and afternoon, and the thrust of their questions is, What kind of nut is this? 22. What is your proof there was no Oswald/Marion Baker encounter on the second floor? What is the best essay on this topic?
  23. Lee Harvey Oswald told Michael Paine that John Kennedy was the “BEST PRESIDENT” he had ever had in his lifetime. “Michael Paine, debated politics with JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, dies at 89” by Chris Smith of the Press Democrat on March 15, 2018 http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/8118362-181/michael-paine-debated-politics-with Michael Paine of Sebastopol was a civil libertarian and retired aeronautical engineer who, while living outside of Dallas in 1963, engaged in occasional political discussions with a self-identified Marxist named Lee Harvey Oswald. When Paine heard of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, he thought immediately of Oswald “but dismissed him because I didn’t think he was that irrational,” Paine later told an interviewer. In testimony before the Warren Commission, created to investigate the assassination of JFK, Paine said he did not regard Oswald as someone likely to kill a president. “I saw he was a bitter person … very little charity in his view toward anybody, but I thought he was harmless,” he told the commission. Through much of the 55 years since JFK’s murder, some conspiracy narratives have alleged that both Paine and his former wife, Santa Rosa resident Ruth Paine, were CIA operatives and framed Oswald. Both rejected the scenario as ridiculous, declaring that their observations and knowledge of Oswald persuaded them that the killing of Kennedy was the work of him alone. Michael Paine told an interviewer not long after the shooting, “I think it’s a lone wolf thing. The opportunity presented itself to him and he probably wanted to make a mark on society.” Paine died March 1 in Sebastopol, where he had lived with or near his son the past 14 years. He was 89. He was born in New York City on June 25, 1928, to architect and left-wing activist G. Lyman Paine and Ruth Forbes Young, founder of the International Peace Academy. Michael Paine studied at Harvard and Swarthmore and was living in Pennsylvania when, in 1957, he married Ruth Avery Hyde. Two years later, Michael Paine took a job with Bell Helicopter that required a relocation to Texas. The couple settled in Irving, a suburb of Dallas. They had two children, Tamarin and Chris, when they separated amicably in the fall of 1962, then continued to spend time together as a family. The children lived with Ruth Paine, a Quaker who has said she studied the Russian language in order to counter Cold War tensions by seeking out dialogue with Russian people. In February 1963, she heard of a Russian woman who spoke no English, having recently moved to the U.S. with her young daughter and her husband, Lee Harvey Oswald. Ruth, now a retired teacher and school counselor living in Rincon Valley, has said she liked the idea of having someone with whom to practice her Russian. So she reached out to the Oswalds. She invited her ex-husband, too, when she had 21-year-old Marina and Lee Oswald, 23, and baby June over for dinner. Ruth and Marina became friends. That friendship on occasion brought Michael Paine and Lee Oswald together, and three or four times they engaged in political discussions. Paine, a liberal and longtime member of the American Civil Liberties Union, would later describe Oswald as a “pipsqueak,” but one whose politics he tried to understand. “He told me he became a Marxist in this country by reading books and without having ever having met a communist,” Paine said in an interview following the assassination. “With me he spoke very freely and he complained that with other people he couldn’t … they wouldn’t talk about political subjects. He would talk about nothing else.” In interviews and in testimony before the Warren Commission, Paine described Oswald as a lonely man who seemed to like very few people. But in their conversations Oswald never revealed hostility toward Kennedy. “I expressed my appreciation of President Kennedy and he didn’t ever argue with me on that point,” Paine said in an interview. In a 2013 essay he titled, “My Experience with Lee Harvey Oswald,” Paine recalled that Oswald once declared emphatically that “change only comes through violence.” “I’d also heard him say that President Kennedy was the best president he had in his lifetime. Looking back on what happened, these two statements seem impossibly contradictory … how could a man want to kill a president whom he thought was the best president he’d had in his lifetime?” Though Michael Paine remained no more than an acquaintance to the Oswalds, Ruth took Marina Oswald under her wing and tried to be helpful to her struggling family. Ruth, who became a key witness to the Warren Commission, has said she was hoping to bring a degree of stability to the Oswalds when, in the fall of 1963, she told Lee Oswald about a job opening she’d heard of — at the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas. Oswald was hired. He rented a room near the job. In late September, Marina accepted an invitation by Ruth to live with her and her children in Irving, about a 20-minute drive from Dallas. Ruth Paine allowed the Oswalds to store most of their belongings in her garage. For weeks while working at the book depository, Lee Oswald, who had no car or drivers license, hitched a ride to Ruth’s house after work on Fridays, then spent the weekend there with his family. It surprised Ruth Paine when Oswald appeared at her home unannounced on a Thursday — Nov. 21, 1963. Later that night, she walked into the garage and found the light was on, causing her to wonder who’d been in there. When she arose the next morning, Lee Oswald was already up and gone. He’d left a coffee cup in the kitchen sink. At 12:30 that afternoon, gunshots killed JFK as he sat beside his wife, Jacqueline, in the back of a Lincoln Continental convertible just after the presidential motorcade passed by the book depository. It would soon dawn on the Paines that Lee Harvey Oswald had hidden his scoped, bolt-action rifle in Ruth’s garage. In the 9,400-word “My Experience with Lee Harvey Oswald,” Michael Paine wrote that he believed the assassin acted alone and decided only shortly before Nov. 22, 1963, to do something that would make himself infamous. “The nation would remember him as the one who had shot the president of the strongest capitalist nation of the world,” Paine wrote. “He wanted to be important — not inconsequential. He would be in the history books now, and that is what he wanted.” Both of the Paines testified before the Warren Commission in 1964, Ruth more extensively because of her nearly yearlong friendship with Marina Oswald and her many encounters with Marina’s controlling husband. In time, the Paines both left Texas. Michael Paine lived and worked in Concord, Massachusetts, and was active in coastal conservation and supported Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. He moved to Sonoma County in 2004. He and his son, Chris Panym, founded near Sebastopol a “multi-household, multi-age, multi-enterprise community” they called Green Valley Village. They were unable to bring it to fruition. Chris Panym said that as his father approached aged 90 he lost his memory but all his life was committed to championing the environment and civil liberty. In addition to his son in Sebastopol and his former wife in Santa Rosa, Paine is survived by his daughter, Tamarin Laurel-Paine of Middlefield, Massachusetts. There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on April 14 in the library at Friends House in Rincon Valley. Panym asks people interested in attending to RSVP to him at 707-861-1169. 24. Email from David Lifton to Robert Morrow on March 16, 2018 regarding his interview of Michael Paine circa the year 1994 From: David Lifton Sent: Mar 16, 2018 10:30 PM Subject: Fw: CIA patsy Lee Harvey Oswald told Michael Paine that JFK was the best president he had seen in his lifetime! Friday evening, 3/16/2018 - 10:24 PM PDT As I'm sure know (or will soon find out) Michael Paine died. Please do note: that back around 1994 (plus or minus), I had a full-dress on-the-record tape recorded interview, with Michael Paine, at his home in Boxboro, Mass. I have notes and transcripts, etc., and cannot today recall everything he said; but I did want to note that my questioning was good, and at one point, he got rather emotional, started trembling, and broke down and started to cry. As I recall, I formed the opinion that he knew (or realized) that LHO had been framed. This is contrary to the behavior of Ruth, who carried her belief that LHO was the assassin all the way into her later years, and that is something that is quite likely her belief (still) today. You can share any part of this email with anyone. Best, DSL
