Jeff Morley had to leave the WaPo to pursue the JFKA-CIA story.

Tucker Carlson was following the JFKA-CIA connection and the JFK Records Act. He is out.

It pains me to take the bait.  But fox is not the msm, Murdoch is one billionaire among many.

Yeah, Ben, I too wondered if Tucker Carlson getting sh*t-canned had anything to do with his recent public commentaries about the JFK assassination, and/or his interview of RFK, Jr. on Fox.

From my perusal of the news articles this evening, no one in the M$M has broached the subject.

The articles I have read are claiming that Tucker's firing had something to do with either the Dominion libel case, or his alleged misogyny.

But we all know that misogyny has been endemic at Fox, and all of their talking heads participated in libeling Dominion.

So, why now, and why Tucker?

W-

Thanks for your comment.

As usual, I cannot prove my suspicions, about this or any aspect of the JFKA.

Unfortunately, citizens do not have surveillance or subpoena powers.

Decades back, CBS'er Daniel Schorr took an interest in the Pike Committee and intel-state excesses. He had to leave CBS for PBS, where he never really did much thereafter.

One way to look at it is that Tucker Carlson put a target on his back. Sooner or later something would come up that would facilitate and legitimize his departure.

Unfortunately, the character types that take an interest in the JFKA are rarely conformist organizational types. You can probably explain this 100 times better than me. So, they are not going to conform to conventional narratives, IMHO.

There were a number of TV specials in the 1970's focusing on the CIA/mafia connection and the role that may have played in the assassination. Dan Rather was the host of one of these, as I recall. A decade later, around the time of Iran/Conta, Bill Moyers ran some programs on the invisible government--in which the CIA's often secret/sometimes unauthorized activities around the world were discussed and exposed.

So, no, this topic is not verboten, and not a career-killer. At least not historically...

P.S. If memory serves, a number of people in the intelligence community (including I believe Helms and Phillips) claimed Daniel Schorr's reporting had put CIA operatives at risk, and that this had led to the murder of a Chief of Station. This then put CBS in an awkward position. They tried to get Schorr to back off, and he quit instead.

Still, pretty anemic, and the overall media tone to the JFKA is one of dismissal if not outright ridicule.

And sheesh...the snuff job Biden/Garland did on the JFKA has received zero press coverage.

I feel comfortable in stating that anyone who makes the JFKA and the Records Act a cause celebre...is not employed in mainstream media.

I don't know how long he pursued the story over the years, but in my opinion Geraldo Rivera has rightfully earned his place in JFKA reporter history.

Jeffrey Meek. Although retired now he was managing editor of the Hot Springs Village Voice weekly newspaper in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, from which platform he interviewed many relevant JFK assassination witnesses and published those interviews and recently a 2021 book, The Manipulation of Lee Harvey Oswald and the Cover-Up That Followed (https://www.amazon.com/Manipulation-Lee-Harvey-Oswald-Cover-Up/dp/B09CTY8YQ6).

I don't know if that qualifies as "mainstream" or not. Across America around the '70s and '80s and 90s, I noticed that the print "weeklies" in cities and towns large and small seemed to reflect a shift in where real investigative reporting and breaking of stories often seemed to happen especially on local levels but sometimes national and niche too such as Jeffrey Meek's long-time work on the JFK assassination.

Jeff continues to write for the Hot Springs Village Voice, including his monthly column — "The JFK Files"  — which I believe is unique in the country.

I had the honor of meeting Jeff last November in Dallas during which time he was able to peruse the Lafitte datebook first hand. He subsequently published a column focused on Coup in Dallas titled, "New information — is it too good to be true or the real deal?"

I take my hat off to all those mentioned above.

In fact, anyone who is earnestly and honestly pursuing what they think happened in the JFKA gets a thumbs up.

You won't get rich doing this.

Seth Kantor was a mainstream journalist who pursued the JFK assassination. From the Spartacus Educational site:

"After the Kennedy assassination, Kantor worked for the Scripps-Howard newspaper group in Washington. Later he worked as a reporter for the Atlanta Constitution and the Detroit News. In 1974 Kantor won the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Professional Journalism Society Medallion.

"In his book Who Was Jack Ruby? (1978), Kantor examines the reasons why the Warren Commission seemed to be unwilling to carry out "an in-depth probe of Ruby's past". Kantor also provides information that suggests that Ruby was "allowed" into the Dallas Police Station so that he could kill Lee Harvey Oswald. This was reissued as The Ruby Cover-Up (1992).

"Seth Kantor died of a heart attack in Washington on 17th August, 1993." (https://spartacus-educational.com/JFKkantorS.htm)
