  1. You have the difference right in front of you. THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. As I recall, Dallas County Sheriff Bill Decker REFUSED to be involved in security for JFK's visit to Dallas. Not sure how this refusal was allowed to stand...but we saw the results.
  2. As a moderator/administrator, I will once again admonish all participants to refrain from the personal attacks. PERIOD. As a person who has been following the JFK assassination story since it happened [when I was a 9-year old 4th grader], there are certain things about which I have my doubts. Harvey and Lee is one. But I also believe that David Josephs has done a great job highlighting the inconsistencies and anomalies in the purported Oswald trip to Mexico City to show MUCH reasonable doubt that it ever actually occurred. So because I disagree with one aspect of Mr. Josephs ' research, that doesn't mean that I believe that none of his work has value. The truth is, there is enough reasonable doubt in the case against Oswald to warrant examining all of the evidence. And after a thorough examination, some may stand and some may fall. And sometimes we merely disagree on which doubts are reasonable and which are not. But we should do our best to remain civil toward others when addressing them in the forum. And personal attacks are a weak rebuttal, implying that you have exhausted your evidence.
  3. The late Gerry Hemming at one point claimed that he had purchased/offered to purchase Oswald's rifle from him prior to the assassination. I don't recall the details.
  4. As for me, I'd listen to a lot more blues music. And learn to play the Seafoam Green Squier Stratocaster I bought after my rotator cuff surgery.
  5. The corner of Ross Avenue and N Lamar Streets is 2 blocks north and 4 blocks east of the TSBD at 411 Elm St. Proximity makes the location of the found .38 S&W a tad suspicious.
  6. According to the inflation calculator I used, $200 a month in 1963 projects out to $1713 and change in 2021, or about $20,000+ a year. That would be the equivalent of someone making under $10 an hour today at a full-time 40-hour-a-week job. And $10 an hour today is poverty-level. Now, if Ozzie was making $1.25 an hour in 1963, that would figure to just over $11 an hour...for the times he was working. Anyone know what Texas unemployment paid in 1963?
  7. We must remember that, prior to the creation of the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection attempt, Congress attempted to create an INDEPENDENT COMMISSION to investigate. And Republican Senators killed that attempt. Which begs the question: did they not want the incident investigated...or did they WANT a partisan investigation that they could denounce? Either way, it appears obvious that the LAST thing they wanted was the TRUTH to come out.

  9. AND... the Biden administration was NOT sworn in before January 20th. So under WHOSE administration was Enrique Tarrio's January 5th release allowed? [HINT: NOT Joe Biden's.] And under whose administration was Christopher Alberts IMMEDIATELY released on his own recognizance? Remember, Joe Biden wasn't President before noon on January 20th. NONE of his cabinet officers were sworn in prior to January 20th. Based upon those FACTS, Mr. Cole, I believe your allegations are false ON THEIR FACE. Prior to noon on January 20th, 2021, a "Biden Justice Department" simply DID NOT EXIST. You are ignoring that simple FACT, which makes your entire argument weak to the point of being ridiculous.. I cannot believe no one has challenged your "Biden Justice Department" comments before now. Was there a "Trump Justice Department" prior to noon on January 20, 2017, too? If so, PLEASE explain.
  10. Christopher Alberts wasn't simply released. He was indicted on 4 charges: https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/case-multi-defendant/file/1364751/download He was NOT arrested DURING the so called "scrum"; he was arrested AFTERWARDS...AFTER DC Mayor Muriel Bowser had declared a CURFEW. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/gun-toting-rioter-man-who-slugged-cop-among-first-charged-for-capitol-chaos-feds/ar-BB1cyMKY But for some reason, Mr. Cole left out these details.
  11. I was a 4th grader when JFK was killed. I saw Oswald gunned down on live TV.
  12. One thing I've learned working in a business environment: If it was a committee decision, no SINGLE person gets tagged as the person who said, "Do it." The JFK hit reeks of being a committee decision. As with many committee decisions, different members of the committee then work from their level of experience to make the committee decision happen. Which would explain why so many allegedly "aggrieved" parties [Mafia, CIA, pro-Castro Cubans, anti-Castro Cubans, and right-wing nut jobs] can be considered as possible suspects for making the hit happen. And of course, as in the old "Mission: IMPOSSIBLE" TV show, "the department will disavow any knowledge of your actions." This, "rogue" CIA agents, "rogue" Cubans or Cuban sympathizers, and "lone nut" assassins are the "obvious" suspects. And we are left without enough information to peel back enough layers of the onion to arrive at the TRUTH.
  13. Mr. Cole, IMHO your posts betray your claims of being open-minded. It appears you have already fixed upon a narrative and apparently will defend it until hell freezes over. Of course, the 1/6 insurrection was executed by the "rabble." Had it been successful, I have zero doubt that Trump would have said that it reflected "the will of the people," and that it indicated that he should not vacate the White House...casting more doubts upon the election results. To what do I refer when I said, "Had it been successful,..."? Two possibilities. One, the insurrectionists capture Pelosi, Schumer and Pence and execute them. Or two, the Secret service manage to spirit Pence away to parts unknow, possibly to a "tragic" plane crash or other alleged accidental death scenario. In either of these scenarios, there would be no VP to certify the Electoral College results. Had that been the case, the Constitution has no "fallback" provision in the absence of a VP. So what happens then? LITIGATION. And there is no inauguration on January 20, because the case is yet to be decided. And in a worst-case scenario, Trump retains office because the situation is not only unprecedented in our history, but also heretofore unanticipated by the architects of the Constitution. And America then becomes the biggest banana republic in the history of the world.
  14. The parking lot behind the picket fence is in front of, and to the left of, the TSBD. As I understand it, entrance and egress were provided off the Elm Street "extension" that proceeded due west in front of the TSBD.
  15. As one of the current owners of this site, I can attest that there are ZERO profits involved with running and maintaining this site. So the Education Forum is not profiting in any way, shape, or form from the material posted here. The ownership team are ALL unpaid volunteers who are part-time moderators/administrators of the forum. To varying degrees, we all have put some out-of-pocket cash into the continued operation of the forum and received nothing of monetary value in return. As long as we continue to have others who have invested years into researching the JFK assassination on the forum, such as Larry Hancock, Vince Palamara among the many, contributing the fruits of their research to the forum, we will continue to perform an educational service. And that is our purpose here.
  16. My father worked for the Post Office before it was the USPS, beginning in 1968. That does NOT make me an expert, but I talked a lot with my dad about his work. He had told me that EVERY post office ran incoming mail through the ON-SITE cancelling machine [except for items that were tagged HAND CANCEL ONLY]in the USPO days. It wasn't until the USPS days when mail was sent to a sectional or regional PO for cancellation. So today, in my hometown of Corydon, Indiana, a letter destined for another office within the same county NOW goes to Louisville, KY for cancellation before being routed BACK into the county and to the post office whose mail would have been sent DIRECTLY there back in the 1960s and into the 1970s, on the WAY to the Louisville regional PO. [Still trying to figure out how that improves USPS efficiency, but someone in DC will certainly claim that it does.]
  17. Greg Parker has the inquisitive mind of a journalist. While I don't agree with all his conclusions, most are well-reasoned.
  18. On a radio-related group on Facebook, I found this image of press passes for the dinner scheduled to be held in Austin on the evening of November 22, 1963. Just thought I'd add this tidbit, as I'd never seen this photo before.
  19. Technically, JFK was NEVER "prone" on the ER table. He was supine. Prone would put him there FACE DOWN. Ask anyone who has fired a rifle from the prone position. Just a technicality...but we ARE the Education Forum here, so accuracy matters. If JFK actually HAD been prone on the ER table, there would be no debate about where the head wound was.
