The inevitable end result of our last 56 years

I'm so sorry, Mr. Wheeler, but you remind me of a time-lapse photograph that I once saw. It was the study of a sunflower, as it followed the arc of the sun across the sky.

Once upon a time, when Fox News was Donald Trump's favorite source of ego gratification, you would occasionally post screenshots of Fox News stories that were supportive of the President's behavior, no matter how outrageous his behavior became. Think of the Covid-19 Task Force briefing, where the President Of The United States suggested that his scientists should study the efficacy of injecting bleach into a living human body to see if the procedure would work to cure a patient of COVID-19.

More recently, the Twitter King has been obsessively rage tweeting about how awful Fox News has become. He cries foul. He whines that Fox News is mistweeting him. Poor baby. Now he promotes other networks, including NewsMax. And, low and behold, you post a screenshot of a NewsMax story. NewsMax's ratings have skyrocketed, because Trump's rabid followers are abandoning Fox News like vermin abandon a sinking ship.

When I visualize a Trump rally, I see, in my mind's eye, an enormous field of tens of millions of sunflowers, all  following a setting sun.

Meet a new Republican senator!

Former Auburn football coach, now Alabama senator, Tommy Tuberville, on the three branches of government and on the origin of World War II:

“’Yeah and that’s how our government was set up,’ Tuberville said in response to a question about a politically divided Congress. ‘You know, our government wasn’t set up for one group to have all three of branches of government. It wasn’t set up that way, our three branches, the House, the Senate and executive.’…

“’As I tell people, my dad fought 76 years ago in Europe to free Europe of Socialism.’”

This country will continue to be in good hands.

On track to be 2024 front runner. Imagine how stupid the party will be by then.

Can Trump win with ‘fantasy’ electors bid? State GOP says no

By BOB CHRISTIE and NICHOLAS RICCARDI 11/14/20

https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-joe-biden-donald-trump-legislature-pennsylvania-b199b2debc87fbb20612a48835bc0dba

“Republican leaders in four critical states won by President-elect Joe Biden say they won’t participate in a legally dubious scheme to flip their state’s electors to vote for President Donald Trump. Their comments effectively shut down a half-baked plot some Republicans floated as a last chance to keep Trump in the White House.

State GOP lawmakers in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have all said they would not intervene in the selection of electors, who ultimately cast the votes that secure a candidate’s victory. Such a move would violate state law and a vote of the people, several noted.”

Could that story really be true Steve?  Its really something if it got that far.

The only time I ever recalled this being talked about was in the Florida heist of 2000.

Electors are chosen in advance of the election, there is a slate for the Dems and one for the GOP.

Then whoever wins that state's popular vote, the secretary of state signs off on that vote count and the winning slate casts their vote for the winner and the winner takes all of the electoral votes.

To talk about changing that system is fine with me.  But to change it AFTER an election that you lost and before the electoral college has voted?

Paul Hornung, Definitely an athlete of his time.  He was in his heyday in my youth. He also won games by kicking  field goals, right? Him and Bart Star just kicked ass in my early years. He had that scandal betting on games.

He wasn't particularly fast, but he could wriggle his way through. He was a hard runner to get a hold of.

Jim,

Yes. It's true.

From the New York Times:

"That has not stopped some high-profile supporters of the president, including the talk radio host Mark Levin and Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, from suggesting that Republican-led legislatures should consider ignoring the popular vote in close-fought states won by President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. and handing their electoral votes to Mr. Trump."

- Radio host, Mark Levin -

REMINDER TO THE REPUBLICAN STATE LEGISLATURES, YOU HAVE THE FINAL SAY OVER THE CHOOSING OF ELECTORS, NOT ANY BOARD OF ELECTIONS, SECRETARY OF STATE, GOVERNOR, OR EVEN COURT. YOU HAVE THE FINAL SAY -- ARTICLE II OF THE FED CONSTITUTION. SO, GET READY TO DO YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY”

Predictably, just like in the Presidential Race, the MSM refuses to call a win for an "R" even when it is clear the "R" is going to win.

I think you guys are victims.  The GOP should continue to run on pure grievance.

The D votes for Biden were rigged but the R votes for the House were legit.  That's the ticket!

People love a whiny loser.
