When I talked to Michael about this, he said he got it from Albarelli.

He really had many sources for his information.

Personal interviews, documents, letters etc.

Bingo!  Thank you.

I bought and read A Secret Order a couple of years ago.  Then it got buried in a stack of books I just went through.  I'm half way through Hank's chapter on Rose, Billnitzer and White.

What I've forgotten is not in Petals.  Albarelli's detail is incredible.  It sure seems like Rose's informing on a heroin dealer name Voice is what led to Billnitzer's death.  She told him she felt compromised a couple of days before it.  He was being set up to take the fall for selling confiscated heroin back to Voice by fellow officers per White.  But it seems White's investigation speeded things up.

After the double shot suicide to the chest in his office, with two doors, White and two other FBN officers were blindsided by City Attorney Sears in the press.  Saying they had used "ruthless tactics" and "bullied him out of his mind".  Sears fired off a letter to Senators LBJ an Daniels, Hoover, the Attorney General, Secretary of the Treasury and rep Albert Thomas that White be removed.  The Houston Police Chief came on board with Sears, as did the mayor.

Then the Houston District Attorney revealed White had him the asst. D/A and grand jury foreman listen to a taped 45 minute interview of Billnitzer 12 hours before his death.  No intimidation, threats or depression noted.

They tried to tie White to Communists.  He called his boss, who sent two more investigators.

White trained Angleton in the OSS in WWII.  White and Angleton attended a CIA covert training function on hypnosis "shortly" before leaving for Houston and the Billnitzer murder.  Not that hypnosis was involved, but that White and Angleton were closely associated and the latter was likely well aware of what was going on.

The one I was thinking of, I believe it was a woman at a hotel lobby or maybe a college campus overhearing a man talking on the phone in a nearby booth. I'm sorry to say I can't remember the details. I'll try and look through my notes and see if I can't find anything more on that.

Denny,

It's possible you were thinking of Elizabeth Cole.

Elizabeth Cole – Prior Knowledge

http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/5746-elizabeth-cole-prior-knowledge/

In 1975, Elizabeth Cole told the FBI that in the first week of November, 1963 she attended a Foreign Students Convention in New Jersey.

While there, she overheard a telephone conversation between a Cuban student and an unknown third party. In the phone conversation, the Cuban student related that JFK was going to be assassinated. The date of the assassination, the City of Dallas and a book company were also mentioned.

Cole said that she called the FBI when she returned to NYC, but never heard back from them.

You can read the details here:

http://www.maryferre...32&relPageId=54

It is alleged that the name of the Cuban student overheard by Miss Cole has the same last name as that of a Cuban picked up and released in Dallas on 11/22/63.

“Speculation says that if it's Fermin that attended, then it may have been through some Jesuit relationship - why else bother penetrating an event centered on Religion? If he did attend, it is not obvious from the information I was able to gather.”

"He (Jim Buchanan, brother of Jerry Buchanan) advised that Jerry Buchanan would be available for a few days following the day of interview (April 30, 1964) at 457 Oak St. Fairhope, Alabama, the residence of Craig Sheldon, whom he described as Chairman of the International Anti-Communist Brigade in Alabama."

Addendum on Mobile Anti-Castro Activists

There has never even been alleged, nor does Mobile Bay Magazine in any way now suggest, a connection between Oswald and Mobilians engaged in anti-Castro activities. Yet we think it appropriate to note, as a matter of historical background, that Mobile, as well as New Orleans, was at least up until the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion a center of active support for anti Castro militants.

A memo filed in the F.B.I. office in Los Angeles dated May 8, 1963 quotes an informant who copied a list of headquarter cities for Alpha 66, the Cuban exile led group that staged regular raids on Castro's Cuba. One of the 13 cities in the U.S., Canada, and South America is Fairhope, Ala.

Fairhope sculptor Craig Sheldon, now in his late 70s, was an adventurous, patriotic WWII veteran and devout anti-Communist in the early 1960s. He has never made a secret of the fact that he was a member of Alpha 66”.

Flashback: Lee Harvey Oswald Visits Spring Hill

Originally run in Mobile Bay Monthly's September 1993 issue, this article explores Lee Harvey Oswald's speech at Spring Hill College in July 1963, just months before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Spring Hill College was run by Jesuits.

Is this the FBI report the Mobile Bay Magazine refers to?

Masen told Frank Ellsworth that Rodriguez and George F. Parrel were leaders of the local DRE and also members of Alpha-66.

Masen told Ellsworth that George Parrel, an associate of Orcarberro, had also been trying to buy guns from him.

Masen told Ellsworth that Rodriguez and Parrel had made purchases from him; that they presently have a large cache of arms somewhere in Dallas; that he did not know the location.

Interesting person Miss Elizabeth Cole.

Educated in France? College at 15? Parents lived on Park Avenue. She probably received her doctorate in "genetics?"

Why would some one of her standing make up a story like this?

Yet, her FBI report is on record as we read it on the Mary Ferrell site? A report taken before 11,22,1963?

Once again, according to Miss Cole's recollection of this Cuban students speaking comments, we see how much the expatriated Cuban community run out by Castro turned their hate and rage on JFK after the Bay Of Pigs.

Reminds me of the scene in Oliver Stone's film JFK where Ferry is hosting an ominous Cuba agenda get together at his apartment and a hot headed Cuban shouts out cursing insults towards JFK and says they should take him out ... "an inspired act of God should happen here and put a Texan in the White House."

I agree that it is fair to ask questions. And interesting that she did go to the FBI and do her best to have her experience investigated.

This reminds me of Adele Edison, who was a big part of the JFKLancer community during her life.  Her story is riveting and puzzling. She was a delightful, soft-spoken intellectual. I spent some time with her in Dallas after her presentation in 98 or 99, and then we spoke at length by phone later on.  I have always found her statements intriguing and have looked for tie-ins from other sources...

Fascinating.  It just points out again that Oswald new more people than most thought.  Nearly all of his contacts were people involved with Cuba or American intelligence on his return to the US.

Someone should write about the places and people Oswald knew outside of New Orleans and Texas.  Some are strange.

I think you may be referring to the Oxnard call with the last?  I don't think that has panned out.

Are you talking about the George H W Bush thing with the Parrot Jungle?

If you read my review of Russ Baker's book, I discuss that one.

I cannot find a link to your review of Baker's book and would be interested in reading it. Thanks.

Interesting that a particular book company was cited in relation to Cuban assassins, as textbook publishers had offices in the TSBD.

Is there a list of publishers' employees lodged in the TSBD?

Was Elizabeth Cole's 1963 statement to the FBI ever found?  We only see her 1975 recap.

What a good idea. This would make a fascinating presentation too.  How about you?
